I have been working on this castle for a couple of days now and I am about half way through. The walls are hallow boxes, 64 blocks long, 12 blocks high and 6 blocks wide. The towers are also hallow; 4 blocks wide, 4 blocks long and 20 tall. I have made a round staircase up one of the towers to get to the top of the walls. The whole castle is made out stone bricks except the tops of the tower which are made of spruce wood. Also the roof will be made of glass. Most of of the walls and towers where made using the filler from the mod Build Craft which saved a lot of time. Using the filler is actually slower then placing blocks manually. But, with a filler you can have many working at once as well as do other things at the same time. I will go over the filler and the rest of Build Craft in more detail later when I do a mod showcase about it. I am not sure what I am going to about the lighting. I think I will put a row of torches around the wall(on the inside) but I don’t know about the middle.

Here are some screen shots:

The whole castle:

The 1980s–a magical time to be alive. In my case, I don’t remember much of the decade; I

The 1980s–a magical time to be alive. In my case, I don’t remember much of the decade; I was born in early 1986, and my earliest memories start around ’89. What I do recall is probably heavily influenced by VH1 specials, cartoons (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles; G.I. Joe; Transformers), and Sci-Fi flicks (E.T.; Star Wars; RoboCop). Who could forget when Luke discovered Leia was actually his sister (’83), or when the Ghostbusters first encountered ectoplasm (’84)? Some other important things happened during the 80s: Reagan made a few speeches (something about a wall?), Wall Street went gangbusters, and Carl Sagan sagaciously compared our world to a “pale blue dot.” Oh, and big hair was–well–big. I think that about covers it.

If you’re a fan of the 80s, you won’t want to miss Ernest Cline’s novel, Ready Player One. It reads like a love letter to a decade full of regrettable fashion trends, synthesized music, and corporate blunders–New Coke, anyone? You’ll also want to check it out if you’re at all interested in video games.

Cline’s novel can best be described as part bildungsroman, part nostalgia-riddled panegyric, and part dystopia. The protagonist, whose real name is Wade but who goes by Parzival, lives in the year 2044. Our planet is buckling under the pressures of overpopulation and destructive climate change. The world’s economy is in shambles, and poverty is rampant. The only thing that most people can afford to do is plug in to a virtual world known as OASIS (Ontologically Anthropocentric Sensory Immersive Simulation). In OASIS, everyone has an avatar that is controlled in the real world with a visor and haptic sensory gloves. Business, education, and recreation occur within the confines of OASIS. While the real world burns and people starve, most are pacified by their access to the alternate, virtual reality.

We enter the narrative just as the creator of OASIS (a reclusive genius named James Halliday) passes away. He leaves behind a cryptic video message containing a final challenge: somewhere in OASIS, Halliday has hidden three keys that open three gates. Whoever deciphers his riddles, finds the keys, and opens the gates will be awarded a huge sum of money. Anyone can play.

Like many, Parzival is enchanted by the prospect of finding Halliday’s secret stash. Halliday was a huge fan of 80s popculture, so Parzival becomes somewhat of a savant concerning films, television shows, video games, and comic books of the 1980s. This knowledge comes in handy as he relentlessly pursues Halliday’s keys.

I really loved this book, but I’d like to shift from summary to talking a little bit about why I think books like this one have such a strong appeal. For me, Ready Player One is in the same category of books as Harry Potter and The Hunger Games. These books share a key ingredient: they are all set in richly detailed, fantastical worlds. Books are naturally vehicles for escape (similar, in some ways, to Clines’s OASIS). But when books have at their heart a space–maybe, even, a home–for the reader’s mind to inhabit, they become uniquely appealing. Our imaginative minds love to exist in realms different from the one in which are physical bodies reside. Harry Potter has Hogwarts. The Hunger Games has Panem and the arena. Ready Player One has OASIS.

The massive popularity of certain video games (like Minecraft) might be partially attributable to our minds’ proclivity for playing in a separate space. Minecraft is a sandbox style game, meaning that much of the game revolves around players altering, building, or destroying their surrounding environment. It is the quintessential interactive “mindscape” in that it allows players to bend the observable, virtual world to their whims.

For posterity’s sake, here is a screenshot of the Minecraft server on which I occasionally play with a few friends. We have a constitution, a capitol, private property claims, systems of arbitration, and laws/bylaws to boot. We might take it a little too seriously. :)

Good fiction draws us in by enticing our minds with the promise of a new space in which to dwell. Spend some time in Cline’s, Ready Player One. You won’t be disappointed.

Let’s continue our biblical studies with “Romans 12″…Shall we?…..

Let’s continue our biblical studies with “Romans 12″…Shall we?…..
“Attitudes That Please God”…

“In his letter to the Romans, Paul has presented the gospel from our need for divine rescue to the glorious future that Jesus-Christ offers us. In chapter 12, Paul explains that the gospel has implications for the way we should treat one another. He begins with attitudes and principles rather than specific actions”…

…”Living sacrifices”…
“Paul begins with the word therefore, indicating that he is “drawing a conclusion”…. Therefore, I urge you, brothers and sisters, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, this is your true and proper worship…Romans 12:1…Since God is giving us mercy, we should submit ourselves to him.

Now let me take a minute to clear up a misconception. Listen to what he said again, in view of God’s mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God, What he is saying here is ONLY God can make ANYTHING holy, you are not able to do this, you OFFER your bodies, or to make it more clear, you offer your Hearts, Minds, Bodies and Soul, everything you are! and God makes you Holy by covering you with the Blood of the Lamb! the Perfect sacrifice! Since God is giving us mercy, we should submit ourselves to him.

…”Not only do various members have different functions, they also belong to each other. Meaning two things, we are not all Pastors or Teachers and we are not seperate or islands, “We have duties to each other”, according to the way God has blessed us.
Our bodies are to be given to God in worship, not to be killed, but as a living and continuous response to God. We are set apart for him, to “serve him” and as we do his will, he is pleased…

………”A literal translation of the last clause says, “this is your reasonable service.” “Sensible people respond to God’s mercy by serving him”…

“What does this involve? Paul explains: Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind…Romans 12:2…Our standard of behavior is no longer the society around us. We do not just continue doing what we have always done. Rather, we are to change, and this change begins in the mind. It takes conscious effort thinking about how God’s way is different from the world around us. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is, his good, pleasing and perfect will…

…”After we stop looking to the world, we will see what God wants, and we will find that his way is better. His instructions are not arbitrary rules just to test our loyalty they are to help us avoid causing pain for ourselves and for others…

…”Serving with our gifts”…
“Paul first describes how the Roman Christians are to work together as a worship community: For by the grace given me I say to every one of you: Do not think of yourself more highly than you ought, but rather think of yourself with sober judgment, in accordance with the faith God has distributed to each of you..Romans 12:3…”By grace”, God authorized Paul to give commands, and this first command is a call to humility. Take a realistic look, Paul says. Whatever faith you have, has come from God. We have value only because God chooses to give us value; no one has any reason to boast”…

…”For just as each of us has one body with many members, and these members do not all have the same function, so in Christ we, though many, “form one body”, and each member belongs to all the others…Romans 12:4-5…Not only do various members have different functions, they also belong to each other. We have duties to each other, according to the way God has blessed us…hummm…

“We have “different gifts”, according to the grace given to each of us. Let me get on my soapbox for a moment here, Facebook has been a wonderful thing or a blessing, but it also has been a curse, let me explain, Facebook has enabled any person to be whatever they wanted to be, and to say whatever they wanted to say, and most of the posts are making it to the four corners of the earth, making the world as small as a town, However no one is answering anyone else’s posts, everone is acting like a pastor or teacher whether they have been called to the ministry or not! Please Church, I Beg you let us get back to what the original Christians were, OF ONE ACCORD! OF ONE MIND! OF ONE BODY! WITH CHRIST AS THE HEAD NOT YOU!

Don’t be sooo busy posting just your own posts, if you see a good post from someone else, help them out and share theirs! Remember some day You Will answer for not only what you did here, but also for what you did NOT do here! I had to get that off my chest this has been bothering me in my spirit for awhile now and something had to be said, Christ is coming soon, within 15-20 years, and how is He going to find us? Bickering! Is that how you want Jesus to find us when He comes back? Please think about what I said! Now back to the Sermon, Thank you!

If your gift is prophesying, then prophesy in accordance with your faith; if it is “serving”, then “serve” if it is “teaching, then teach” if it is to “encourage” then “give encouragement” ..Romans 12:6-8..God has given us different abilities, so some people serve through words, and some through their hands. “Those who prophesy should stick to the faith”….”not their own opinions”…to strengthen, encourage, comfort and edify the church…1 Cor. 14:3-4…Each person should do what he or she does best…

…”For the next three gifts, Paul adds an adverb to emphasize the way we should serve: If it is “giving”, then “give generously”; if it is to “lead”, do it “diligently”; if it is to “show mercy”, do it “cheerfully”..Romans 12:8…Paul summarizes by saying, …”Love must be sincere”…Romans 12:9…”All service should be sincere”…gifts should be motivated by “generosity”; mercy should be given “joyfully”…

“Paul does not give these commands as requirements for salvation. Rather, these are what we should do after being saved, after God has shown us his mercy…

…”Harmony in the body of Christ”…
“In verse 9 Paul begins to list some qualities that should characterize Christian love. He begins with a general principle: “Hate what is evil”…..”cling to what is good”….. “Love is not a vague feeling, but it discerns the difference between good and bad”…

“Be “devoted” to one another in “love”….”Honor one another above yourselves”….
He is focusing on attitudes within the Christian community: Be devoted to one another in love. Honor one another above yourselves..Romans 12:10..Most people struggle to get more honor, but as we imitate our Saviour and our Lord Jesus-Christ …we should try to excel in “humility” and give more “honor”. Our status is secure in Christ, so we do not need to fight for it…

…”Never be lacking in zeal”, but keep your spiritual fervor, serving the Lord.Romans 12:11…Or as Paul says in Galatians 6:10..Do not grow weary in doing good. It’s not always easy or fun; we have to remember that we are “serving God not mammon”…

“Be joyful in hope”…”patient in affliction”…”faithful in prayer”…Romans 12:12…And when life is difficult, “don’t give up hope”…”be patient and keep on praying” looking to God for a way to deal with the problems…

…”Share with God’s people who are in need”..”Practice hospitality”..Romans 12:13.. “Our possessions, like other gifts”, should be used to serve others. Even if we don’t own a home, we can be hospitable. At church, for example, we can be hospitable by welcoming others, being easy to approach and willing to help…also talked and be a good listener too…hug them often…and tell them how much You enjoyed their company too!!!…

“Bless those who persecute you”…”bless and do not curse”…Romans 12:14…Most people want revenge, but that is a destructive approach. If we respond to people in the way that Christ has treated us, then we will respond with good rather than evil…

…”Rejoice with those who rejoice; mourn with those who mourn. Live in harmony with one another…Romans 12:15-16…If other Christians are blessed, rejoice with them,”rather than being jealous”. If they are suffering, empathize with them rather than looking down on them……..

“Do not be proud, but be willing to associate with people of low position. Do not be conceited..Romans 12:16…Some Christians are in a high position; others are low that has not changed. But those external matters are not the basis of a person’s real value. If people are less fortunate than you, don’t think less of them for it. Count them as an equal”…

…”Responding to our enemies”…
“In Romans 12:17, Paul returns to the way that we should respond to persecution or injustice: Do not repay anyone evil for evil. Be careful to do what is right in the eyes of everyone. In other words, do not harbor grudges, and be sensitive to social values…

“If it is possible, as far as it depends on you, live at peace with everyone…Romans 12:18…”We should do our best to avoid offenses”…Sometimes that means accepting restrictions on what we can do…1 Cor. 9:20…”At other times”, it is “necessary to stand up for the truth of the gospel”…Gal. 2:11…

…”Do not take revenge”, my dear friends, but leave room for God’s wrath, for it is written: “It is mine to avenge; I will repay,” says the Lord…Romans 12:19…quoting Deut. 32:35…”Let God take care of whatever

Attitudes that Blesses THE ALMIGHTY GOD!

punishment is needed” that will stop the cycle of violence”…

“Instead of vengeance”, Paul assigns us a different job: On the contrary, Paul says, If your enemy is hungry, feed him; if he is thirsty, give him something to drink. In doing this, you will heap burning coals on his head…Romans 12:20…quoting Prov. 25:21-22…Various suggestions have been made about why it might be good to put burning coals on someone’s head, but the expression is probably figurative, meaning simply that if we treat our enemies well, they may blush with shame…

…”Paul concludes the discussion by saying, Do not be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good…Romans 12:21…That is the way of Jesus-Christ. Evil cannot be beaten by more evil…it can be “conquered only by good”…

“And we will continue this biblical study on Romans tomorrow, Lord Willing!!! Thank-You all for your faithful dedications in your bible studies. May our Lord and Saviour Jesus-Christ always bless You too! Until then…have a great day!

Minecraft 1.6 is finally out with…. Horses! Actual Minecraft horses no need for installing mods to bring the life to horses anymore donkeys are also available with actual chests on them to access this chest just hold shift and right click the donkey. Minecraft now has carpets o.o Carpets! By buying Minecraft you can find all this which would help Mojang (the creators of mc) and mc is only $26.99 I recommend buying it 100% it’s an awesome game. With the original minecraft texture pack the ore block colors are now changed so they added coal block into the game also. Coal looks a little bit like obsidian now and when you set the block on fire it keeps the fire on it but eventually the coal burns away. Redstone looks like a red block lapis lazuli they didn’t change that much

Since school is winding down and the kids no longer have homework, they have been very interested in my blog. Their stardom continues with a look at their favorite activities, activities they want to do and not so fun activities. Here is a look at my “interview” with the young-soon to be “celebrities”.

Jare Bear:

What is your favorite activity to do with your nanny?

Play board games like Candyland and Headbandz and umm… drawing contest.

What is your favorite way to spend afternoons when you don’t have homework?

watch t.v., play wii or riding my bike and scooter with neighbors. (Jare bear can jump more than 500 jumps on the pogo stick!)

Do you have a favorite game?

If you could go on any day trip with your nanny, where would you go?

Panning for gold at Knott’s Berry Farm (I love gold and foreign money!)

I-yo:

What is your favorite activity to do with your nanny?

Have you ever had your life infiltrated by Farmville, Frontierville, Candy Crush, 4 Pics 1 Word, or Minecraft?

Chances are, you have.

It’s a gaming epidemic that has wormed it’s way into the majority of respectable households, and taken a hold on the people we love the most.

My mother is a vegetable.

You may laugh, but when she gets home there is no talking to her most days. She needs to either water her virtual plants or feed her virtual animals.

Then whilst she’s cooking dinner, normal activity recommences. However once the meal is over, it’s Candy Crush time. When it is Candy Crush time, there is no getting through to her.

I used to get lost in conversation with her, recounting the day’s activities, and then realise that I may as well have been talking to my cats because a response from them is more realistic than a response from a woman getting her daily fix.

She actually stopped talking to me for two days because I wouldn’t send her some form of Facebook pass for the next level in Candy Crush.

It’s like living with a crack addict.

But it’s not just her. There’s my brother. I think this gaming epidemic has stunted his social development because as soon as he and my mother has finished arguing over who gets to play on the computer first, he is also a vegetable. Except, his poison is Minecraft.

It’s not just him either though. There’s my family. I mean, I have sat in the kitchen when family have popped in for a cup of tea and watched them all, sat on their iPhones playing Candy Crush in silence.

I even get phone calls from relatives begging me “Send me a life” or “Help me get to the next level”.

This is the age we live in.

I’ve seen that Candy Crush have even gone as far as to advertise their application on television. Shame on them.

It’s going to cost the country hundreds of thousands on rehabilitation units and it’s tearing families apart worldwide…

All I can recommend is that if you are one of the few who is at a complete loss as to what I am ranting about, please do not try this at home.

It isn’t worth the trouble and I think for the sake of your family, you should ban all Facebook applications and limit internet gaming.

If you don’t you can kiss goodbye to those happy times of conversation and life within a house, and replace them with grunts and frustrated mouse clicking.

On your head be it.

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THE BOOK… …Today I’ll give You Five

WHAT ARE YOU WAITING FOR? TEACH YOUR CHILDREN THE BOOK…

…Today I’ll give You Five Simple Rules for Bible Study…
The Bible is a complex book, but it has a simple message. There’s enough wisdom in it for a lifetime of detailed study; and there is also wisdom that beginners can easily find. Here are a few basic rules to get you started on the right foot…

“If you have never read a 1,000-page book, the Bible may seem difficult and unapproachable. The strange names and strange customs might be intimidating…

…”But perhaps you want to read the Bible, despite its difficulties, because you have heard that it can tell you more about the God who made you and who loves you. It can tell you about Jesus, your Savior, and what he did and taught. There’s treasure hidden somewhere in this book, but you aren’t quite sure how to go about finding it…Here are five simple rules to help You out…..

…”START”…
“It is a big book, and nothing will change that. “The only way to begin is to begin”. The one-mile hike begins with the first step. So start reading! But don’t try to read it all at one time. The Bible wasn’t designed for fast reading. It is not a novel, a mystery, or a thriller. Rather, it is a collection of different types of writing…

…”Genesis, for example, contains several types of story covering several major characters. Each requires some thought of its own, so don’t be in a hurry to rush onward just to say you’ve done it. Take your time, a little bit each day. If you want, I host and post a Reading the Bible in a year, a Facebook page, to make it easy you can take only 10 minuets a day, and by the time your done you will have read the entire Bible! Structure your schedule so that you will have some time set aside for this. But where do you start?…hummm…

“Genesis has some interesting stories, and Exodus starts with a great story, but then the story slows dramatically, and most people “lose interest” by the time they get to Leviticus and Numbers, which are even slower……

…”It’s probably better to start in the New Testament, with the stories of Jesus. Mark is a fast-moving Gospel, and Acts has a great story flow. This will then put Paul’s letters in context…

“Don’t feel obligated to read everything “in order” the Christians in Rome did just fine reading Romans first. Feel free to skip around a bit, reading the Gospel of Luke, then the letter of Hebrews, or whatever. Later, you might want to try an Old Testament book, such as Psalms or Samuel…eventually do read the whole bible…

…”When you begin each book, put the date on the first page. That way you’ll know which books you’ve read, and which you haven’t. Eventually you’ll get to them all if you keep at it…

“You may want to get a modern translation, too. There’s nothing especially holy or helpful about 400-year-old English. Try the New International Version, the New Living Translation, or other easier versions like The New King James Version…

…”READ”…
“If you read only one sentence, you might misunderstand it. For example, if I shout “Fire!” you might not know whether I am warning you of danger, or telling you to shoot a gun. The word needs a context before you can understand it, that’s why just getting little quips sent to your e-mail doesn’t work”…

“The same is true of sentences in Scripture. For example, “No one is greater in this house than I am. My master has withheld nothing from me except you.” To understand this sentence, we need to know who is speaking, who he is speaking to, and why. We need a context…

…”So if you want to understand what is going on, you need to read passages, not lift sentences off the page as if they had independent meaning. Sometimes they do, but most often they do not, and the only way to know whether they do is to read at least a few sentences before and some after, to get a feeling for what the passage as a whole is talking about. Who is talking, who is doing what, and why?………

…………Many modern translations help us see the context by putting the words into paragraphs and giving subtitles for the major sections. These markers are usually a helpful indication of where one subject stops and another starts. The point is to read each verse in context, not as a totally independent thought…

…”ASK”…
“Unfortunately, we don’t understand everything we read. We don’t understand everything in a modern novel or movie, either, but we can nonetheless enjoy the flow of the story. But when it comes to the Bible, people often get troubled when they don’t understand everything. After all, it is a message from God, and we are supposed to understand it, and we feel stupid when we don’t…

…”OK, let’s make it clear: Nobody understands all of the Bible, even after studying it for 50 years. Nobody understands everything the first time they read it. Some people think they do, but they have a bigger problem! When it comes to the things of God, “we are all a little bit ignorant”. So “relax”. If you don’t understand something, “ask questions”. Ask the Bible. Talk out loud if you want to, but don’t expect to hear any voices….

“Ask the Bible: Who is talking here? How does he or she feel? Why are these people doing things this way? Would I probably do the same thing? Are we supposed to take this literally, or is it really talking about something else? Is it something good, or something bad? Is there anything in the text itself to give me clues to help me understand?…If You need help ask a pastor or a minister or even friends You might think they know…or ask me if I’m not busy…I might be able to help!

…”Sometimes the answers are clear, sometimes they are not. Sometimes we just have to write a big question mark in the margin and move onward. That’s just the way the Bible is. Maybe we’ll understand it five years later. Maybe a Bible handbook could help us understand. We don’t know, but what we know for sure is that we don’t understand it right now. That’s OK. Sometimes it’s just best to move on to another passage. It’s OK to have questions…

…”TALK”…
“Often, the things you don’t understand, someone else does and vice versa. So when we have questions about the meaning of the Bible, we can talk about it with “other Christians” They may have already studied the very same question, and may be able to make it clear…

…”Or you might want to share something you learned and enjoyed. Perhaps you’ve seen a proverb that applies to a situation you are in. Perhaps you have read a story of faith that you wish you had. Or maybe it was a glimpse of how great God is. Talk about these things, too, to encourage one another…

“The New Testament describes the early church as a “fellowship”, Not as in buildings or Denominations, as a group of people who spoke often to one another about the things of God. They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teachings. They enjoyed what they learned, and talked about their joy…

…”In the modern world, Christians often talk before or after church, or in small groups that meet during the week in homes,”small groups” that meet for the specific purpose of praying together, discussing Scripture, and helping one another. One of these groups could help you in your Bible reading. So that’s a good step for better understanding: Talk about the Bible with other Christians…

…”ONCE YOU START, DON’T NEVER STOP”…

And like I said, If You really need help, I’ll be here to help!!!

Since it’s a big book, and since we don’t understand it all the first time, it is essential that we keep at it…If you really want to understand how God speaks to us through the Bible, then you need to form a “life-long habit” of “reading”, “thinking”, and “talking about the Bible”…

“We will die before we know it all, there is always more to learn. This should be a motivation to keep at it, not to quit. There are indeed treasures hidden in the Bible, and it takes patience and persistence to seek them out. Some gems we can find right away; others will come to light only after many years. some will only come through trials and tribulations! I know this first hand Praise God! There’s always something waiting for us to see…So what are You waiting for?…

…”And we all have to admit it, we aren’t getting any younger. We forget things. We forget lessons we once learned, we forget promises we once knew. If we aren’t refreshing our memory of Scripture, then we will be slowing losing something we once had. Out of sight, out of mind…

…”So don’t quit…keep reading the Book!!!…And like I said, If You really need help, I’ll be here to help!!!

Why does packing have to be such a chore? I’m sure I used to enjoy it when moving house but this time it’s awful. I packed some of my things today.. well, hubby did most of it for me… I bloody hated it. I don’t have much more of my things to pack because I don’t have as much as everyone else, but by gawd its horrible work.

There’s not much time left to get everything sorted for the move now. Like I said yesterday, the sofa/chairs are gone from the lounge and there’s boxes everywhere!!!! My mum’s cross trainer was delivered to a friend of my husband and they now don’t want it…. so we need to arrange for it to be collected…. (visualize angry face)… it’s such a pain in the arse!!!

Anyhoooooo. I’m having some relax time before I start cooking tea. I’m going to be making Spag Bol yummy. I was going to make an apple pie for dessert but I realized we don’t have apples lol.

I’ve also taken a picture of my little boy this morning after he brushed his teeth. I know my hubby has put up pictures of me and our son so here’s one from me. Oh, by the way, I take pictures on my phone, so if the quality is rubbish, blame it on that.

Hello everybody who’s reading my blog. Today I’m showing you some teasers on my WIP Map for Minecraft.

Here’s one of the test chambers:

Here’s how a level would work. The player has to get to the Card Key (Gold bar), and then deposit it into the Food Pill container(Golden Apple) to reach the next level button.

(Click image to view the animation.)

The player will be allowed to eat the Gold Apple.

There will be Orange Enzyme Cannons in the form of Fire Charges in Dispensers.
