Upcoming Bollywood actor Imran Khan has finally decided to tie knot with his longtime girlfriend Avantika Malik. The news is that the engagement ceremony will take place in January next year. This hero of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na will officially exchange rings in the presence of his biological father Anil Pal, who will fly in from the US.

It is said that Imran share very good rapport with his father. According to a source, “Imran’s father Anil Pal is fond of Avantika. He is elated to be part of the most important event in his son’s life.”

It would be a grand party to be attended by many a celebrities. Those in the list are Sonam Kapoor, Deepika Padukone, Ranbir Kapoor, Aamir Khan and wife Kiran, Minissha Lamba, Mansoor Khan and family, Raj Zutshi, Shruti Haasan, Sanjay Dutt, Karan Johar, Sanjay Gadhvi, Soham Shah, Abbas Tyrewala and his wife Pakhi, the cast of Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na and many others. Probably the venue is Aurus in Juhu.

Ladies, toss out the LBD if it looks anything like what these three are wearing. Minissha’s makes her look short and wide, Neha’s looks desperately outdate, while Mugdha looks like she forgot half of her ‘dress’. Instead of what they are wearing, I’d suggest these jewel-tone dresses – the purple Aquilano Rimondi for Mugdha; the electric blue Prabal Gurung for Minissha; and the yellow Monique Lhuillier for Neha (minus the hat ofcourse).

New Delhi, Oct 27 (IANS) After sashaying down the ramp in beach wear for designer duo Hemant-Nandita at the ongoing Wills Lifestyle India Fashion Week (WIFW), Bollywood actress Minissha Lamba yearns for a beach vacation.

‘I’m dying to go on a vacation – some place where I can dive into the blue ocean water and sunbathe. I have had a lot of commitments lately so it was hard to take out time for a holiday,’ Minissha told IANS.

The actress, who was the showstopper for designer duo Hemant-Nandita, says she went into the holiday mood as soon as she slipped into the designers’ chic resort wear collection, inspired by ‘a vacation in Ibiza’.

‘After wearing this dress, I really think I want to go to Ibiza without all the stress of work,’ said Minissha, who walked the ramp confidently in a colourful, flowy dress with prominent work on the neckline.

‘I really like what Hemant and Nandita have done because no one in India used to treat beach wear and resort wear as a legitimate couture line. And their line offers everything – from swimsuits to flattering gowns with work for a classy dinner at a resort,’ she added.

After her glamorous avatar in ‘Kidnap’, Minissha is now waiting for the release of Shyam Benegal’s comedy ‘Well Done Abba’, in which she stars alongside Boman Irani and Sammir Dattani.

‘It is a political satire based in a village – it’s a very different movie. It has its message to it but it isn’t preachy or moralistic,’ said the actress who made her debut with off beat film ‘Yahaan’.

The film is inspired by two short stories – ‘Narsaiyyan Ki Bavdi’ by Jeelani Bano and ‘Phulwa Ka Pul’ by Sanjeev, and is produced by Reliance BIG Pictures. It revolves around a Mumbai-based driver who takes a month’s leave to find a groom for his teenage daughter.

Asked if the movie is a conscious effort to experiment with the kind of cinema she has been used to, Minissha said: ‘There’s no conscious effort. I have always loved whatever I have done.’

Minissha was also seen in ‘Bachna Ae Haseeno’ with Ranbir Kapoor.

This is something new to all you Minissha Lamba fans. After sporting a sexy bikini in Kidnap, the actress is now all clad in leather for the cover of ‘The Man’ magazine’s latest issue.

On asking about her college life Minissha Lamba, began with praising her professors.

“We had the most amazing professors in the University. I was a student of English Literature and attending lectures were the most memorable moments of my college life. The English department had the best teachers, there was professor Ila Singh and of course Sharmila Ma’am…”, recalls the ex-Miranda student.

She can, in that way, be labeled as a good student who always listened to her teachers.

“As much as I disliked the idea, at times I had to, for, I was doing a part time job alongside. Acting just happened. I actually aspired to be a journalist,” says the former model. She still likes to wield the pen whenever time allows. Who could have thought of pairing Ranbir Kapoor up with Konkona Sen Sharma?

Ranbir, the handsome lad on the bollywood scene who’s romanced glam dolls like Deepika Padukone, Bipasha Basu and Minissha Lamba on the big screen, and Konkona, who’s played simple, modern characters in films, do make a uniquely odd couple.

But then Wake Up Sid, produced by Karan Johar and directed by first-timer Ayaan Mukherjee is not any other usual film, it is a
unconventional in story and presentation.

Mukherjee, the director of Wake Up Sid, has taken up this as a challenge and has an apt explanation to this. He saw Konkona has been around in the industry for longer than Ranbir. So he conveniently turned the character into a slightly older woman. And he was sure of casting Ranbir as the laidback Sid in the movie when he saw Ranbir in Saawariya.

Mukherjee also rubbished the speculation that the film is a love story between a handsome dude and a not so good-looking plain Jane. He’s offended by the allusions to Konkona as not so good looking.

The director goes on to describe Konkona as the “most gorgeous woman” he’s met. “In fact, my last shot was with her and I just couldn’t stop gawking,” Mukherjee admitted.

Mukherjee revealed that ‘Wake Up Sid’ is rather a love story between a young guy and a woman who’s slightly older.Konkona’s character Ayesha is a few years older than the guy. Nor is the age difference concealed here as it was between Ranbir and Bipasha in Bachna Ae Haseeno.

‘Wake Up Sid’ is slated to release on October 2.

I watched Kidnap last night (eh.) and that this was the first successful hip-hop routine I’ve seen (so far) in a Bollywood film.

This link is only the song promo I think because it is cut into pieces.  But I that Minissha did an amazing job with the choreography.  The closest thing to pass for a really good hip-hop dance is this.  (Second place goes to the kids dancing in Mr. India)  I’ve seen attempts to use a hip-hop influenced dance routine, but they always have it so mixed with classic Bollywood moves that it’s never really true hip-hop. This alone was worth sitting through abnoxiously long chase scenes and stiff acting from Imran.  (What happened yaar?)

Both Minissha and Celina were at the Ramesh Taurani party, understandably in party wear. Alas, there were a few minor mishaps. Celina’s shoes are wayyyyy too pointy that she could accidentally stab someone. Minissha’s dress is a tad too long but more so, the color is harsh for her skintone.
