Hay obras que justificarían un género. Este relato del poeta cubano Julio Miranda bastaría para justificar la existencia del llamado “microrrelato”. A pesar de tantas nimiedades como se amparan en esa etiqueta, la unión de intensidad poética y narrativa se produce a veces en pocas líneas, y cuando eso sucede, se trata de un acontecimiento tan maravilloso que sería de mala educación interrumpir preguntándole al género cómo se llama.

Se lo dedico a Leticia, que está ahora inmersa en el asunto este.

PASIÓN

El hombre, con los brazos abiertos delante de la puerta, le obstaculizaba el paso. Ella no pudo evitar una sonrisa, pese a todo.

Generation Kill: Channel 4 (Recorded 18th Nov Watched 22nd Nov)

I run the risk of being the world’s worst TV reviewer, but I don’t really have a lot to say about this episode.  I only mention it at all as it was the final episode and it would be totally remiss of me not to at least say goodbye.

The final 15 minutes, including the The Wire-style montage, were incredibly moving and a fitting end to what has been a truly outstanding series.  I just hope that you were all watching.

The Greatest Ever 3D Moments: Channel 4 (R 22nd Nov W 23rd Nov)

Really?  These were really the greatest ever 3D moments?

This programme brought Channel 4’s week long gimmick-fest to a close and it brought the whole concept of 3D in to question.  Most of the clips shown were incredibly lame and the whole thing was utterly pointless.  Even the appearance of several notable “talking heads” specialists (who I actually like), including Andrew “Mitford Sisters” Collins, could do little to relieve the tedium.  Possibly the worst nostalgia/clips show ever.

In Treatment: Sky Arts 1 (R 23rd Nov W 23rd Nov)

The penultimate week of the season began with a shocking episode.  It was partly shocking because there was the surprise death of one of the major characters, but mainly because it was set entirely outside Paul’s office.  It was, however, based at a funeral, and although it was a bit depressing, because it seemed very real, you can’t really criticise because it was so well done.

If you don’t want to know who died, don’t read the bottom review.

Miranda: BBC2 (R 23rd Nov W 24th Nov)

This was actually episode 3 of the series and there’s a reason I haven’t mentioned it sooner.  It really annoys me when people slag off sitcoms that they’ve only seen about 5 minutes of, so I thought I’d watch a few episodes before I decided whether I’d pass judgement or not.  Luckily, I like it, so I’m free to comment.

It’s a very silly, mainstream, studio-based sitcom, and so takes a bit of getting used to.  Once you do get in to the swing of things, though, it is very funny.  It’s helped enormously by Miranda Hart being both funny and likeable.  She’s also not afraid to make a complete fool of herself, and takes a mean pratfall.  Don’t be afraid to like it.

Lie To Me: Sky One (R 17th & 19th Nov W 25th Nov)

I had two episodes of this to watch on my planner, so I thought I better watch one.  I was shocked when, a few minutes later, I decided to give up on it.  I realised that I’ve only been half watching the episodes this season (I’m usually online when I watch it), and I found I had no enthusiasm for it at all.  I did the sensible thing and deleted them, and the series link.  If only I had learned this lesson when I endured the whole first season of True Blood.

It’s hard to say what went wrong with the show, and I’m not actually sure that it has got any worse.  I think that the gimmick probably only had a limited shelf life before it wore off and became effectively another police procedural.

In Treatment: Sky Arts 1 (R 24th Nov W 25th Nov)

I couldn’t help but comment after seeing this episode, so I could praise the performance of Glynn Turman (Mayor Royce in The Wire) as Alex’s father.  It’s the day following Alex’s funeral (following a plane-based accident) and he wants to confront Paul as to his son’s state of mind.  He also brings the value of Paul’s profession in to question and it gave the episode an interesting dynamic.

Alex Sr. seemed to be relatively calm on the surface, but his grief was all too apparent.  It was an incredible, subtle performance by any standards, let alone for a ‘guest star’.  There were times when he seemed frighteningly similar to Alex, especially in the way he made some of his points to Paul, and I don’t know how much of that was due to skill or to a happy coincidence.  The performance culminated in a heartbreaking collapse, towards the end, and was some of the finest acting I’ve seen on TV.  I hope that Turman got some kind of award for it.

We got to see the other side of the man who Alex Jr. painted as a bit of a monster, and why he behaved the way he did.  An exceptional episode of a generally brilliant series.

What am I grateful for?  Let me count the ways…

Here is the deal, Feinstein, Eric Holder’s former Law Firm represents at last count 17 of the detainee’s. Indeed, he is “Blemished”. In fact at the last Senate Hearing, when he was requested to give the to Senators the names of those who worked in his office and who had worked for the detainees previously at his law firm, he indicated he would have to “consider it”.

Klockan är snart 10 och vi har redan hunnit med frukost, mellanmål, diskat och bakat ett tårta till mamma/mormor
Miranda tycker det är roligt att hälla i alla ingredienser och att smaka på allt
Hoppas tårtan blir god, ska ner på stan efter lunch och köpa lite färska bär och lägga på.

Just nu är Kenten och Miranda på banken för att sätta in massor av mynt. En av spargris-colaflaskorna var helt fylld och vi måste ha en som är tom till Lillebror. Miranda har en egen och Lillebror har en, sen har familjen en där tanken är att vi någon gång ska komma iväg på en resa och bada med delfiner. Kom på att det kanske inte är världens smartaste idé att gå till banken den 25:e, men vad gör man när man jobbar dom andra dagarna och jag orkade inte ens lyfta flaskan så tung den var.

Kenten ringde till fuktkillarna innan. Dom trodde att målaren varit här och fixat våra bruna fläckar, efter en tidigare påminnelse lovade dom för 3 veckor sen att det skulle fixas den veckan. Svårt att gnälla för mycket på dom när dom är snälla när man ringer, men projektledaren kanske borde ha lite bättre koll på dom han jobbar med. Hade varit skönt om det som skulle målas om var fixat till när Lillebror kommer så vi inte behöver tänka på det mer. Inte så jättestora fläckar och de i köket ser man inte om man inte vet om att det varit en läcka, men nån gång måste det ju fixas…

A Confederação Brasileira de Futebol divulgou nesta terça-feira, em evento em São Paulo, os finalistas do prêmio Craque do Brasileirão 2009. O troféu, criado em 2005, elege os nomes dos três atletas que mais se destacaram em suas posições na competição nacional, além dos melhores treinadores e árbitros.

A premiação, que ocorre anualmente no Rio de Janeiro, sempre um dia após o termino do Campeonato Brasileiro, premia ainda o melhor jogador, a revelação do torneio e o craque da galera. Os nomes foram definidos a partir de votos de treinadores, jogadores e jornalistas esportivos.

O São Paulo, time mais premiado desde a criação do troféu, tem apenas três indicados: André Dias como melhor zagueiro pela direita, Miranda como o melhor zagueiro pela esquerda e Hernanes, como melhor volante pela direita e craque da galera.

A surpresa no clube ficou pela não indicação de Ricardo Gomes, que tirou o time da 16ª colocação e colocou na liderança do Campeonato Brasileiro, com boas chances de conquista de título.

Lillebror har inte varit sig själv på sista tiden. Han har inte haft hysteriska timmeslånga spark-kavalkader som han hade förr. Inte varit så orolig för det utan mest tänkt att han inte har så mycket plats längre. Men igår tyckte min barnmorska att vi skulle kolla upp det för säkerhetsskull eftersom minskade fosterrörelser kan ha med navelsträngen att göra och den hade ju Miranda problem med. Så jag fick en akut-tid och tillbringade hela eftermiddagen på KK. Allt är bra, men jag har för högt blodtryck så jag är sjukskriven och måste ta det lugnt. Dessutom så måste jag åka in till förlossningen så fort jag känner att något inte är som vanligt. Dom listade upp saker som jag skulle vara uppmärksam på, men alla dom har jag ju dagligen pga min sjukdom

Hur som helst så är ju praktiken över nu och jag har 500 telefonsamtal att ringa för att få rätt på all ersättning och så att alla beslut skrivs om. Vet inte om det är mindre stressande än att ha praktik i 2 veckor till, men läkaren var väldigt bestämd. Jag sa att hur funkar det med försäkringskassan det står ju överallt att det inte går igen att man är sjukskriven som gravid. Men hon sa att hon aldrig fått tillbaka något och skrev att det kunde vara fara för barnets liv och om mitt intrakraniella tryck så det skulle inte vara några problem

Varit och vaccinerat Miranda idag. Planen var att jag skulle göra det själv med henne, men sen blev vi förvirrade om vart vi skulle göra det. Tog för givet att det var på BVC, men när man går in till vårdcentralen/BVC sitter där en lapp om att all vaccinering sker i sege park. Räknade ju snabbt ut att jag inte hann ta mig mellan ställena om det var så. Så Kent tog semester nu på förmiddagen och följde med. Miranda var jätteduktig och när vi kom till dagis, så berättade hon för alla att hon hade ett plåster på armen Hon fick en klubba med och det var riktigt populärt, dock varade den i en evighet så hon blev lite purken när hon fick slänga den när vi kom till dagis

Imorgon fyller Mamma år och Kent har tagit föräldrarledig för att gå till tandläkaren Dom hade så dåligt med tider så det var enklast att göra så. Därför är tanken att Miranda och Kenten ska baka en tårta till Mormor som vi ska överaska med. Hon vet att vi kommer, men tror att vi bara ska fika med frallor Har hittat ett recept på en cheescake med botten av digestiv och pepparkakor och så är det fyllning med mascarpone ost. Ingen anning om det är gott, men det låter dundersmaskigt

Näe, får väl gå och lägga mig och titta lite på tv så att blodtrycket inte blir för högt… tänk va kul om jag kunde få ha godis brevid mig utan att gå upp i vikt

Jag älskar min vinylspelare. Herregud, vad bra ljud de hade förr i tiden. Jag dör, Dylan förstör mig. Det är hans fel att jag aldrig går och lägger mig. 

Varsågoda, Mirandas skildring av vår UNDERBARA friidrottsdag:

Hej svejs!
Nu är jag glad. Det gick mycket bättre än vad jag hade trott i friidrotten idag.
(Förutom i höjdhoppningen, där klarade jag 90 centimeter. Det var verkligen totalt uselt, eländigt, bedrövligt, uschligt, usligt, bristfälligt, undermåligt, klandervärt, förkastligt, miserabelt, erbarmligt, ynkligt, armt, kasst, skralt, sketet, tarvlit, gement, lumpet och nedrigt. Uschamej. Första pris för Lägsta Hopp.)

I längdhoppet, till exempel, gick det alldeles förträffligt, faktiskt! I min förra klass var det bästa hoppet runt 3,10 meter långt (i sexan alltså), om jag inte minns fel. Mitt rekord då var typ 2,90, men oftast hoppade jag runt 2,60.
Idag överträffade jag mig själv med ganska många procent. Jag hoppade3,65 meter! Yaay! Då blev jag glad, och väldigt förvånad. Jag förstod liksom inte vad som hände, för jag gjorde bara som jag brukar. Men resultatet blev ju bra. Tycker jag i alla fall.

I löpning 1200 meter “vann” jag. Eller, vi var åtta stycken som sprang, och jag kom först. Med tiden 5,41, vilket jag tycker var åtminstone helt okej. Jag vet att det inte var en tävling, och att vissa hade missuppfattat vad det gick ut på, men jag kan inte låta bli att vara glad för att jag kom först. Förlåt om någon i min närhet tycker att det är jobbigt. Men jag är en riktig tävlingsmänniska och vinnarskalle.

Oj, vilken noggrann redovisning jag har gjort. Men en sak till bara – de fyra snabbaste fick chansen att tävla i stafetten mot de andra högstadieklasserna, och jag var en av dem! Vårt lag kom 3:a av alla tjejlagen i högstadiet, dvs 9 lag. Med tanke på att vi slog några nior och åttor tycker jag att det var superbra. Bra sprunget alla som var med!

Tack, Miranda, nu behöver jag inte skriva något! Förutom att ingen får tro att jag var nära att få lika bra resultat som lilla M (förutom på höjdhoppet), men dålig var jag inte! Tycker iallafall inte jag. 5,55 på 1200 meter, 105 cm på höjdhopp, inte-tillräckligt-bra (10,47 sekunder…) på 60 meter, och jag-skulle-kunna-fortsätta-i-all-evighet på ingen-friidrott-för-mig-på-ett-tag-nu.

No momento mais importante do Brasileirão, o São Paulo sofre com os desfalques. Contra o Botafogo, o técnico Ricardo Gomes não teve André Dias e Hugo, suspensos pelo terceiro cartão amarelo, além de Borges, Dagoberto e Jean, punidos pelo STJD com três partidas de suspensão. Agora, além de torcer para que a pena do trio seja reduzida no julgamento desta quinta-feira, e os jogadores possam encarar o Goiás, no próximo domingo, no Serra Dourada, o comandante já tem que armar o time sem mais dois nomes importantes: Miranda recebeu o terceiro amarelo, e Richarlyson foi expulso na derrota por 3 a 2 no Engenhão.

O treinador não só espera ter o trio de volta como também torce para que o STJD não denuncie André Dias e Hugo esta semana pela briga que os dois protagonizaram contra o Vitória. Se entrarem na pauta do Tribunal nos próximos dias, eles correm o risco de desfalcar o São Paulo novamente.

- Nosso trabalho é resolver os problemas sem Miranda e Richarlyson. Agora é preciso recuperar e montar o time esperando a quinta, mas todo o trabalho tático já está desenvolvido, é fazer um ou outro ajuste. Espero contar com André, Hugo e Jean, porque o caso do Jean foi duro. Ele foi o único jogador neste Brasileiro que recebeu a pena máxima do artigo no qual foi denunciado – ressaltou o treinador, citando o caso do volante no artigo 250 (ato desleal ou inconveniente).

Mesmo que não possa ter Borges, Dagoberto e Jean, Gomes diz que não vai ficar se lamentando. Mostrando confiança na força do grupo, vai tentar suprir as ausências mais uma vez. O time é o líder do campeonato, com 62 pontos, mas poderia ter perdido o posto se o Flamengo tivesse vencido o Goiás. O jogo no Maracanã terminou 0 a 0.

- A semana é novamente decisiva, porém o time não sofre com a tensão porque sabe administrar isso muito bem. Espero poder contar com todos os jogadores, mas caso isso não aconteça vou brigar novamente com quem tenho à disposição. Lutaremos até o fim, o trabalho é esse. Vamos ver o que vai acontecer durante a semana fora de campo – completou o técnico são-paulino.

As most mothers are painfully aware, transitions can be difficult for children — and mamas. I’m not talking about those big transitions like starting school, or moving — I’m talking specifically about those little daily leaps from one activity or focus to the next.

I’m hoping that my dear Studio Mothers community can help me with a particularly sticky transition that crops up in my schedule tree times a week. On the days that I work, my sitter leaves the house at about 4:40. I’m usually working frantically right up until the last possible moment. Then I emerge from my work space and greet my little guys (who I have likely seen at several intervals during the day).

Here’s the thing: Ironically, I almost dread this moment. I’m happy to see my little boys, and they’re happy to see me. We share hugs. But the transition is hard. I’m still in work brain, and I have a hard time switching gears. The boys are hyped up because the sitter is leaving and Mom is taking over. It’s a transition. And the big question looms: What do we do NOW? There is often a full hour or more before I need to start dinner. We usually just spend that time hanging out in the playroom, if we don’t have to get in the car to drive an older sibling somewhere. But that hour always feels awkward. I feel like I should be doing something really cool with the kids during that time. Craft projects are pretty much impossible right now, however, as the older of the two boys is 4.5 and the youngest is 18 months. We can’t yet play a board game or do anything particularly structured. I also often feel anxious about preparing dinner; will my little one “allow” me to cook? Or will he be hanging on my leg, crying for my attention, making me wish we’d just ordered pizza again?

I would really like to develop some kind of ritual for easing back into the mom role. Maybe that means stopping work five minutes earlier and getting myself sorted out and mentally prepared. Maybe it means some kind of “thing” that I do with the boys — something that I can look forward to, and they can look forward to — that will ease the transition. Maybe I need to plan that pre-dinner hour in advance, so that I feel like we’re using the time to the fullest.

One thing is for sure: I need to learn to wrap up any loose ends BEFORE the end of my work day. If I try to sneak back onto my laptop, or check mail/facebook/twitter on my iPhone, I always feel guilty and/or disaster ensues. I don’t WANT to do that. So I’m not going to do that anymore. (Stake in ground. You are all my witnesses.)

Do you have any thoughts about ways to make that time the BEST hour of the day — something I really look forward to — rather than something I feel ambivalent about? I’m hoping that if I turn this hour into what I hope it can be, dinner preparation will be easier too, because the boys will feel like they had my full attention before I start cooking. The whole evening will probably flow more smoothly if I get things off to a good start at 4:40.

De exemplu, in aceasta dimineata am amestecat putin ulei de masline, un sfert de lamaie stoarsa, menta, cateva frunze de salata verde tocate marunt cu un praf de sare si o jumatate de branza de vaci slaba – in combinatie cu putina paine de secara prajita, a fost un mic dejun minunat. Si, fireste, benefic!

Urmeaza un fruct pe post de gustare si peste la gratar cu o salata imensa, pe care vreau sa o asezonez tot cu menta! Iar ca rasfat final, ma voi duce in Carrefour, voi cumpara capsuni si menta proaspata, le voi amesteca in shake cu iaurt… yammy! Altfel, daca nu tin regim, degeaba ma chinuiesc la sala si la cosmetica

Vor  wenigen Stunden flogen die Victoria’s Secret Engel wieder über den Catwalk. Legendär sind die Shows mittlerweile, in denen Männerphantasien und Frauen-Wäscheträume war werden. Begleitet von den perfekten Catwalk-Laufrhythmus Beats, der Black Eyed Peas schwebten Julia Stegner(diesmal ohne Flügel), Miranda , Marisa und HEIDI. Ja, ganz genau! Selbst unmittelbar vor der Show täuschte Sie die Journalisten über ihre Teilnahme und gab an, ganz entspannt aus den Zuschauerreihen das Fashionhighlight zu verfolgen. Und dann kam Sie bezaubernd, wie eh und je hereingeschwebt, auch ohne Flügel. Die Zuschauer jubelten und Heidi strahlte. Hatte das Topmodel auch nach eigener Aussage noch neun Kilo zu viel an Gewicht und trug etwas mehr Stoff, als die meisten anderen Models, so bezauberte sie doch die Reihen der Anwesenden. Eine Corsage und ein Tüllschleifenrock umschmeichelten ihre,für den Außenstehenden,  makellos wirkende FigurDie Show, die diesmal unter dem Motto “Science-Fiction” stand, war fulminant.Space-Glam wohin man schaute. Blau, Silber, Weiß, Glitter dominierten die einmaligen Kreationen. Nirgenwo sonst sind die Models so locker und entspannt, wie bei dieser Show. Sie tanzen, lachen, shakern und interagieren. Wir können sicher sein, auch nächstes Jahr wird uns Victoria’s Secret wieder inspirieren und wir freuen uns darauf.

What started as a measly home video website, filled with harmless and funny clips of people having fun and posting interesting things, has heavily evolved into the land of short films, subscriber mania and viral videos. What’s even more sick, people spend HOURS watching these mind numbing things. The videos draw crowds and critical reception, which can boost or decay the worth of the product.

Take for instance, YT sensation CommunityChannel.

Natalie lives in Sydney and creates videos that make you laugh, cry and wonder why.

Her videos draw comments like:

As you can see, people are complimentary(in VERY sarcastic and regular ways) and they recognize that they are addicted to her videos ie. the “your gonna make me fail my exam” comment! This my dearest readers is the essence of the YouTube community.

Another part of YT are the videos that blur the reality line.

Meet Miranda:

This vivacious, overly self-confident diva is striving for broadway stardom. She plainly states in the above video that her talent is priceless, but she is willing to share a bit of her vocal advice with her audience. Take from it what you will…real or not? Too good to be true? (spoiler alert)
