In Darwinian’s theory of evolution, natural selection is “the process in nature by which only the organisms best adapted to their environment survive and transmit their genetic characteristics to succeeding generations while those less adapted tend to be eliminated”.

Truer words were never said of social media.

Treat every online social networking service as an “organism” and we could probably trace back its ancestry right back to its most primitive form.

I decided to do a rough evolutionary timeline in the short span of 30 years that social media have been around:

Social media platforms are constantly being replaced with newer, better, succeeding generations of services which in turn must adapt and change or risk elimination.

In the cruel game of natural selection, “mother nature” takes the form of social media consumers: a fickle group of individuals ultimately deciding who lives or dies in an arena where each service has to literally fight for survival.

In this article, I will review how social media has evolved from the “primordial” 8 bit generation to the present day 64 bit service and platforms.

Usenet: the social media “Adam”

Born in 1979 from the minds of Duke University graduates, Tom Truscott and Jim Ellis, the Usenet system allowed users to read and post threads of discussion, called news, on one or more newsgroups.  Its similar in several respects to the modern day forums and indeed, Usenet could effectively be named the father of all forums. It gave consumers the first taste of “social networking” in the loose sense of the phrase.

Many of us would cringe looking at the graphics we had then. I wasn’t alive during the launch of Usenet but I couldn’t imagine having to network on an interface like that. Just goes to show how spoilt we consumers are these days.

Status: Deceased

Though a friend of mind says Usenet is still being used by hackers wishing to remain anonymous, I can’t say for certain.

Bulletin Board System (BBS): fathers of the World Wide Web

The comic strip sounded like sarcasm to me.

“Well of course you can connect to other computers without being the same kind of machine! That’s just plain obvious.”

Well of course we would think that way. We’ve had the internet since we could work a computer. But even before the World Wide Web was established, people in the late 1970s could still communicate with one another using the BBS. In many ways, the BBS was the inspiration for the World Wide Web and many other aspects of the internet. It allowed users to upload and download data, read and post news on a public message board, and find and communicate with each other by way of email.

The BBS even allowed online games and a primitive form of chatrooms that provided communication using multiple phone lines called MUT, MultiUser Talk. MUT was later replaced by the Internet Relay Chat (IRC) system.

Status: Deceased

Replaced by internet forums.

mIRC

One particular IRC client stood out against the rest. The mIRC came into the market in 1995, and became an instant hit with the online crowd. The client’s main difference was in it’s scripting, giving users the power to customise commands, behaviour and appearance of their mIRC client. Filesharing, which very few IRCs at the time offered, was also possible on an mIRC. Even today, the client is still being used worldwide. IRCs were the precursors to the instant messaging clients we have today, and though no longer popular, is still in active development.

Status: Dying

The same friend told me that IRCs are still used by hackers wishing to remain anonymous. Its very rarely used for social networking purposes though, and I don’t see how it can profit anymore.

Internet forums

Bulletin boards has since evolved into internet forums like phpBB and vBulletin, bringing along with it the ‘netiquettes’ and internet culture we have today. The common features that set our forums apart from the BBS are private messaging, emoticons, picture galleries, attachments and polls. Few internet forums require paid subscription. Most rely on advertising dollars and donations to continue operation. Internet forums inspired the invention of the modern blogs we have today.

Status: Stable

Most people find internet forums to be a great source of information and since there are no visible alternatives in sight, it will likely continue for a long time.

Windows Live Messenger: entering the age of instant messaging

Formally known as MSN Messenger, the Windows Live Messenger almost wholly replaced Amercia Online’s AIM and Yahoo Messenger in 1999. The client allows for an amazing range of features and capabilities including, but not limited to, games, sharing folders, phone calls, web camming, application sharing and animated display pictures.

Instant messaging is still very much alive in our day and age. Contacts are more connected now than ever before. True, a phone conversation would flow much faster and is more personal but you can’t multitask on a phone, and you can’t leave your phone running for the whole day.

Metaphorically, signing in to the client is like entering a large living room where all your friends are gathered. The difference of instant messaging from other modern social media platforms is that most of the people in your contacts list are people you already know. There was small chance of meeting anyone new (although new MSN services available provide for that deficiency though it remains unpopular).

Status: Stable

The communication technology will likely improve in the far future, but ‘instant’ messaging is already pretty much… instant. The only technology I see replacing  this is telepathy, or mind reading.

Blogs: the creation of the blogosphere

Taking concepts and characteristics of a forum, blogs have evolved out of the primordial soup of the digital communities in 1997 and rose to popularity in 1999. Blogs were revolutionary in that they gave social media consumers the platform to have their voices heard by the internet community. There are several types of blogs for several different subjects and purposes. The most common form of blogs are personal blogs, an online diary of sorts that allowed readers to get a glimpse into the bloggers life. Corporate blogs are blogs used primarily for marketing purposes, adding content updates that relate to the product or service the company offers and giving the company a sort of personality.

What completely differentiates a blog from its ancestors, besides the obvious customability and depth, is the ability for any user to earn a profit. A blog is one of the few social media platforms that can be very lucrative. Some of the more famous bloggers blog for profit by featuring advertisments in their page. Companies know the influence bloggers have on their consumers and the evolution and growth of the blogosphere makes this platform a necessity for any smart social media consumer.

Status: Growing

There are people alive today who dream of blogging for a living. Its a great indication how much fun people get out of blogging. Theres just something about letting people hear your thoughts and feelings that makes you feel warm inside. Kinda like when you write that diary and pretend to hide it knowing it’s going to be found anyway.

Six Degrees: the first of its kind

Six Degrees was the first social networking site ever to be in operation. It evolved from the concept of ’six degrees of separation’; everyone is at the most six degrees away from anyone on the planet. Unfortunately, no one got the concept and it was sold in 2000 for $125 million, and shut down a year after. It was however, the precursor to other social networking sites like Friendster and Facebook.

Status: Deceased

Six Degrees paved the way for future social networking sites. It was too complicated itself, which was probably why it shut down.

Friendster

Taking from the concept of Six Degrees, Friendster had a highly successful reign in Asia in 2002 which continued until early 2008 when Facebook gained immense popularity, leaving behind millions upon millions of inactive accounts in the biggest internet ghost town. Friendster was an example of the internet consumer’s viciously low attention span and loyalty to any one platform.

Rumours, presumably started by rival Myspace, that Friendster would become a pay site made it unpopular with the younger Western crowd. 90% of their users are from Asia, particularly Singapore, Malaysia, Phillipines, China, India, South Korea and Japan.

Today, Friendster is looking at expansions into Asia and growing its list of features to seperate themselves from social networking giant Facebook.

Status: Near Death

I think I’m being generous when I say its not dead. I checked into Friendster yesterday and none of the accounts in my friends list had been entered in the last 3 months, except two which were entered a month ago.

Myspace

Also the victim of Facebook’s growing popularity is Myspace. Myspace was a copy of Friendster launching in 2003 and gained popularity over the years with the Western countries until 2008 when it lost its users to Facebook. Today, it struggles to compete with Facebook with an extreme makeover, adding applications and updates and redesigning their pages.

Status: Near Death

Myspace is probably as dead as Friendster. Or maybe less dead. But dead is dead.

Facebook: the big boys on the block

Facebook started first by focusing on smaller communities of high school students. The name itself is taken from the American college face book given to freshmen on their first day of school. It differentiates itself effectively with its many features and games, including a public wall that friends of the user can post messages on. Its integration into the iPhone and other smart phones make it the most accessible social networking site currently available. Its popularity speaks for itself and remains at the top of the food chain. However, its hard to say how long Facebook can keep its users happy before another social site pops up.

Status: Growing

Almost everyone has a facebook account these days. Not to mention ‘facebooking’ is now as much of a word as ‘blogging’ and ‘tweeting’, I’d say facebook could last.

Twitter: so simple, its smart

A service evolved from SMS (short messaging service) and blogs, Twitter is a microblogging site that enables users to send messages, called tweets, to the world in 140 characters or less. Twitter is also highly accessible, integrating itself in various smartphones like the iPhone. According to comScore and other research sites, only 11% of its users are teenagers. Its used by companies, reporters, educators and even politicians in the case of Barack Obama’s unorthodoxed campaigning online.

Where it is in the food chain is highly suspect. At the moment, Twitter looks to have a bright future with companies looking to use the platform to reach out to its target consumers, a job twitter is flawless at. Its simplicity however, is a double-edged sword; although its consistently ranked top 5 in the list of social networks most used, it also has a very low retention rate (40% according to Nielson Online) with users dropping the service after a month.

Status: Growing

Personally, I found the service jarring. It’s literally ‘too much, too fast’. I’m one of those people with an unhealthy compulsion to reply to every message and in twitter, I’m like an addict getting a constant fix.

The statistics don’t agree with me though, so I’m gonna have to call it as it is.

Youtube

Youtube remains one of the largest and most effective video sharing site in the market. Naturally, with the improvement of digital technology, sharing videos was an obvious step for the online community. It’s not surprising that Youtube met with extraordinary popularity that’s still rising even today. Its reported that Youtube’s bandwitdh in 2007 consumed as much bandwitdh as the entire world wide web in 2000. Companies have engaged the site to market their products. Vloggers who were virtually unknown suddenly rose to massive fame. People suddenly lost hours of their day just watching videos on Youtube.

Although not a social networking site in the strict sense, Youtube does offer an immense level of connection in the form of comments, video replies, subscriber systems and private messaging. The site is easy to use, and highly accessible through most digital devices.

Status: Growing

The revenues earned from the site is gradually increasing, but Google still hasn’t figured out how the site can be used to earn profits. Youtube is constantly evolving and changing together with digital technology so it would stay in operation into the far future.

Other worthy mentions

Linkedin: More for the businessmen. A site that could widen your range of business contacts. Your profile page is your resume here.

Flickr: Although you can’t call it a social networking site in the strictest sense, the site offers more than just image sharing. You can also set up a profile, add friends and create groups.

Revver: The very first video hosting site to share all revenue generated by a video on their site with the video’s owner 50/50. Several video hosting sites are starting to do the same, but Revver shares revenue for all videos (Youtube requires you to have at least 500 subscribers).

Delicious: Hate the name, kinda. Its a social bookmarking site that’s pretty useful if other social news sites couldn’t already do the same. It takes it to a new level with rating systems however and is helpful when your in need of some recommendations into sites.

Digg: Same as Delicious in several respects. Digg has a top 100 Digg Users system that rewards top one hundred users with more traffic. You can ‘dig it’ or ‘bury it’ depending on how useful you thought the link was.

Alanya Ticaret ve Sanayi Odası (ALTSO) tarafından düzenlenen ‘İş Yaşamında Bel ve Boyun Ağrılarından Korunma ve Ergonomi’ konulu eğitim seminerine katılan İstanbul Tıp Fakültesi Fiziksel Tıp ve Rehabilitasyon Ana Bilim Dalı Kas ve İskelet Hastalıkları ve Ergonomi Uzmanı Prof. Dr. Emel Özcan, bel ağrılarından korunma yollarını uygulamalı olarak anlattı.

Özcan, ALTSO’da düzenlenen ve ilginin az olduğu konferansta, iş yaşamında bilgisayar kullanımının kas ve iskelet hastalıklarında artışa neden olduğunu ifade etti. Bu tür hastalıkların Kuzey Avrupa ülkelerinde sosyal devlet yapısını çökertebileceğinin söylendiğini aktaran Özcan, özellikle teknolojinin gelişmesi ile birlikte iş yaşamının vazgeçilmezi haline gelen bilgisayarların kullanımının arttığını söyledi.

Özcan, “Şu anda neredeyse bütün işyerlerinde bilgisayar kullanılıyor. Bilgisayar başında olan kişiler günün büyük bölümünü beli öne hafif eğik şekilde çalışıyor. Gün boyu hareket yapmayan ve masaya hapsolan bu kişilerde bel ve boyun ağrıları baş gösteriyor.” dedi.

Bel ve kas hastalıklarından korunmak için çalışanların işyerlerinde işe başlamadan önce ve molalarda ısınma egzersizleri yapması gerektiğini belirten Özcan, düzenli yürümek, koşmak, yüzmek gibi fiziksel aktivite ve spor yapmanın kas hastalıklarını önleyeceğinin kaydetti. Bel ve boynun bir kez ciddi hasar gördükten sonra eski halini almasının çok zor olduğunu vurgulayan Özcan, bu nedenle çalışanların davranışlarını ve alışkanlıklarını değiştirmesi gerektiğini aktardı. Masa başı çalışanların sırasıyla en çok bel, el bileği, kol ve bacaklarından rahatsızlık yaşadığını ifade eden Özcan, bel fıtığı olan bir kişinin zamanla yaşam kalitesinin düştüğünü ve hatta çalışıyorsa işini bile kaybedebildiğinin altını çizdi. Bel fıtığı olan bir kişiyi yarım insan olarak değerlendiren Özcan, “Fıtık olan bir insan zamanla kendisini verimsiz hissediyor. Eğer çalışıyorsa, işyeri sahibi bu kişiyi erken emekli bile yapabiliyor.” diye konuştu.

Bel ve kas hastalıklarının tüm dünyanın sorunu olduğuna dikkat çeken Özcan, ABD’nin 1999 yılında kas ve iskelet rahatsızlıklarına büyük miktarlarda sağlık harcaması yaptığını vurguladı. Türkiye’de hastalıkla ilgili bir rapor tutulmadığını ifade eden Özcan, bunun ülke ekonomisi için büyük bir eksiklik olduğunu sözlerine ekledi.

Yazılım dünyasının önde gelen isimlerinden Microsoft, geçtiğimiz günlerde yaptığı son açıklamasında, Windows işletim sistemlerinin korsan sürümlerini kullananlara yönelik ciddi uyarılarda bulundu.
Virüs ve malware gibi tehditlerin özellikle Çin’de fazlasıyla görüldüğüne dikkat çeken yazılım devi, bunu da Çin’de korsan Windows kullanımının son derece yaygın olmasına bağladı.

Microsoft’un Malware Protection center departmanında görev alan Jeff William, korsan Windows’ların güncelleştirme işlemini yapamaması nedeniyle virüslere karşı çaresiz kaldığı ve korsan kullanımının yaygın olduğu ülkelerde kullanılan bilgisayarların internet üzerinden gelecek olası tehditlere daha fazla açık olduğunu belirtti.

Malware’e maruz kalan ülkeleri de açıklayan ve verilerini üyesi olduğu anti-korsan organizasyonu BSA?ye (Business Softare Alliance) dayandıran Microsoft, Sırbistan ve Karadağ’da kullanılan her 1000 bilgisayardan en az 97’sinin malware’den etkilendiğini ifade ederken, Türkiye’yi de malware’den en çok etkilenen ikinci ülke olarak açıkladı. Her 1000 bilgisayarın 32’sinin malware’e bulaşmış olduğunun altını çizen Microsoft, Brezilya, İspanya ve Güney Kore’nin de Türkiye’yi izlediğine vurgu yaptı.

Malware’e fazlasıyla maruz kalan ülkelerdeki korsan yazılım kullanımına da dikkat çeken yazılım devi, Sırbistan’da kullanılan bilgisayarların en az %74′ünün korsan Windows işletim sistemlerini kullandığını duyururken, Türkiye, Brezilya, İspanya ve Güney Kore’nin de %64, %58, %42 ve %43′le Sırbistan’ın ardından geldiğini belirtti.

Kütücül yazılım olarak da bilinen malware, bilgisayar ve ağ üzerindeki herhangi bir sisteme sızmak ve zarar vermek için geliştirilen bir tip yazılımdır. Özellikle korunmasız bilgisayarlarda fazlasıyla görülen malware, korsan Windows kullanımı söz konusu olduğunda da kullanıcıları fazlasıyla yakından ilgilendiriyor.
Diğer birçok yazılımda da olduğu gibi Windows da ?update? yani ?güncelleştirme? fonksiyonuyla kendini sürekli yeniler. Yeni bir virüs, malware ve benzeri tehditlere karşı kendini sık sık güncelleyen Windows, böylece kısmen de olsa zararlı yazılımların bilgisayarlara sızmasının önüne geçer. Ancak korsan Windows güncelleştirme işlevini gerektiği gibi yerine getiremediğinden Windows güncel kalamaz ve geliştirilen yeni virüslere karşı korumasız kalır.
Bu nedenle orijinal Windows kullanmak, bunun yanında gerekli antivirüs ve diğer benzeri güvenlik yazılımlarını bilgisayarlara kurmak ve sık sık bilgisayar üzerinde virüs taraması yapmak, bu gibi zararlı yazılımlara karşı bilgisayarların korunmasını sağlayacaktır.

2013 yılına kadar dünya genelinde 5.8 milyon kişiye iş imkanı oluşturması beklenen bilgi teknolojileri sektörünün 75 bin yeni iş alanı açılmasına da ön ayak olacağı belirlendi. Yeniliğe kucak açan ve bilgiye, eğitime ve yetenek geliştirilmesine yatırım yapan ülkelerin, global pazardaki rekabette oldukça başarılı olacağını belirten Microsoft CEO?su Steve Ballmer, ?Yeni bir ekonomik dönem başladı. Yenilikçi teknolojiler üreticilikte önemli bir rol oynayacak ve ekonomik büyümede sabit bir ivme yakalanmasında önemli yer teşkil edecek? açıklamasında bulundu. ABD?li yazılım şirketi Microsoft?un sponsor olduğu ve 52 ülkenin katıldığı IDC araştırmasına göre bilgi teknolojileri kullanımının 2013 itibariyle kapasitenin 3 katına çıkacağı öngörülüyor. Araştırmanınr diğer sonucu da 2013 yılına kadar bilgi teknolojileri sektörüne 800 milyar dolar yatırılacağını ortaya koydu.

Yeni uygulamaya göre, kentteki internet sitelerinde “com” uzantısı yerine New York şehrinin kısaltılması olan “nyc” uzantısı da kullanılacak.

Şehir uzantısı uygulamasına geçeceklerini düğün açıklayan New York Belediyesi yetkilileri bu konuda dünyaya öncülük ettikleri belirterek, yeni uzantıya geçiş maliyetinin internet sitesi başına yaklaşık 10 dolar olacağını kaydettiler. New York Belediyesi ile ICANN firması tarafından ortaklaşa başlatılacak yeni uzantı kampanyası 2010 yılında başlayacak.

New York’ta başlatılacak şehir uzantısı uygulamasının büyük ilgi göreceğini tahmin eden YETKILILER, bu şekilde New York belediyesine çok ciddi maddi bir katkı sağlanacağı görüşünde birleşiyor. YETKILILER New York şehir uzantısı kullanımı için yaptıkları yatırımın bir milyon Doları geçtiğini belirttiler.

Paris ve Barselona kentlerinin de aynı uygulamaya geçmek için çalışma içerisinde oldukları, eski ABD Başkan Yardımcısı Al Çevreci Gore’unda, internette Yeşil siteler uygulamasına geçmek için çalışmalar yaptığı ve Çevreci Sitelerin de bir süre sonra “com” uzantısı yerine “eko” uzantısı kullanmaya başlayacağı bildirildi .

Júlia dançava de forma frenética e sexy. Não podia evitar, sempre dançou assim. Mas naquela noite, sua dança em meio àquela orgia despertou nela uma liberdade que nem mesmo ela sabia existir. Dançou com seus amigos, foi pro meio da roda e depois disso percebeu o olhar de dois de seus amigos: Matheus e Leonardo. Neste momento Júlia sentiu-se num beco sem saída: queria o beijo de um, mas o outro tinha certeza que iam ficar (afinal, quem mandou dar corda no mIRC!?). Ela não sabia o que fazer, os três eram amigos. Decidiu diminuir o contato visual com aquele que estava mechendo com ela e fazer o mesmo com o outro, afinal não queria beijar a sua boca, mas não sabia mais como dizer isto a ele.

Passaram-se os dias e Leonardo começou a conversar com Ju no mIRC, ela se sentiu mais protegida por detrás da tela do computador e começou a mostrar a mulher que tinha dentro dela. Conversa vai conversa vem, em pouco tempo ele estava correspondendo às expectativas de Júlia. O papo esquentou, os ânimos também. Decidiram se encontrar.

Júlia estava ansiosa, mãos suando, frias, trêmulas. “Calma Júlia! Mantenha a pose!”, dizia à si mesma. Mais calma, porém com uma palpitação diferente, ela queria saber qual era a pegada daquele cara, que por sinal já estava chegando sem que ela visse. Léo pensava em como deveria ser o beijo daquela moça que rebolava mesmo que a música não pedisse um requebrado. Queria ver se aquele movimento era utilizado de baixo dos lençóis. Ela já havia lhe dito o quanto era safada, mas ele queria descobrir isso sozinho.

Leonardo via Ju de costas e não resistiu, decidiu abraçá-la pelas costas e beijar a nuca daquela menina-mulher. Estavam no Centro de Porto Alegre, mas naquele horário não havia tanto movimento, Júlia ao sentir aquele beijo, logo se arrepiou. Reconheceu aquele perfume (ela não esqueceria aquele aroma tão fácil), virou-se e olhou profundamente naqueles olhos claros e disse: “oi Lé..”, não conseguiu terminar, Leonardo lhe roubou um beijo daqueles de tirar o fôlego e é claro que ela não ia interromper aquele beijo maravilhoso para dar um simples “oi”.

Quando o beijo terminou Léo estava tão excitado que não conseguia esconder isso nem de uma senhora que estava passando e olhando apavorada para os dois. Júlia e Leonardo estavam com seus óculos de grau embaçados com o calor, que só vinha deles, afinal era uma bela tarde de inverno. Léo disse: “Vamos no cinema? Queria ver contigo o filme novo que tá passando!”, ao que Jú simplesmente fez um sinal positivo meio tímido.

Na sala de cinema o filme era o que menos importava, os dois já haviam visto em outras oportunidades com amigos. Estavam na última fila, o filme não era bom, a crítica sobre ele não era boa, portanto estava vazio, era só disso que precisavam. Leonardo na visão de Júlia estava mais parecido com um polvo do que com uma pessoa, mas ela gostava. Léo ficava mais excitado a cada arranhão que Jú dava em suas costas. Quando perceberam não estavam mais sentados, já haviam se deitado.

Ela estava usando uma saia, mas o que dificultava os atos era a meia-calça. Isso estava deixando ele louco, ainda mais depois de ter entrelaçado as pernas dela nas suas costas. Júlia sentiu que esta atitude pedia atos extremos, puxou da sua bolsa uma tesoura, que óbviamente levou Léo a dar um pulo pra trás. Ju começou a rir e usou a tesoura para cortar sua meia-calça de fora a fora no meio das pernas. Leonardo já calmo porém mais excitado disse: “Assim eu não aguento!” ao que ela replicou, “Quem disse que é pra aguentar?!”, puxou-o para si e voltaram à posição anterior, mas agora sem nada que pudesse impedir qualquer ato sexual.

As mãos de Léo percorriam o corpo de Júlia que dizia sacanagens ao seu ouvido. Ele desistiu de se segurar e entrou em Ju de forma suave, esperando que ela fosse meiga, como as meninas com quem ele estava acostumado a sair. Ela olhou nos olhos dele e disse atiçando-o, “Quero um homem e não um menino!”. O filme estava quase acabando e os dois ainda estavam unidos em um só, mas o gemido de Júlia tapado pela mão de Leonardo anunciava o final.

Ficaram ali, abraçados olhando o resto do filme até o momento em que precisaram se vestir. Ju precisou passar numa loja para comprar uma meia-calça nova, senão morreria de frio e Léo foi comprar mais camisinhas, a noite seria longa para eles.

Parecchi mesi orsono, decisi di vendere la Playstation 3, considerata, dal sottoscritto (e da chi ne capisce), un mero doppione della Xbox 360, e un santuomo la acquistò su ebay a venti euro in meno rispetto al prezzo dei negozi. Evidentemente, ebbi la fortuna di incontrare una persona vittima della shopping on line (sapete quante ce ne sono ? e non sono certo tutte femminucce impiegatucce).

Avevo terminato Uncharted Drake’s Fortune, uno dei più bei giochi visti nella mia ventennale esperienza di videogiocatore e decisi di tenermi la console della Microsoft. Adesso è uscita la seconda edizione di Uncharted e, ovviamente, armato della mia solita follia e della mia voglia di portare a casa un gingillo hi-tech, ieri mi sono precipitato al Mediaword di San Giovanni Lupatoto.

Adoro questo posto. Non solo perchè vende tutta roba succulenta (praticamente è come portare un morto di fame dentro ad una gastronomia), ma perchè è proprio un bel negozio. Ci sono tante attività analoghe nella provincia di Verona, ma spesso sono luoghi tristi, popolati da commessi tristi.

Venerdì sera, per esempio, sono andato in due negozi. In entrambi i casi, avevano la versione “solo console”, a 300 euro. Un acquisto che non ha senso, sia perchè poi devi spendere 65 euro per comprarti il gioco a parte e, soprattutto, perchè la console esce con 120 giga di hd e non con i 250 della versione con il gioco allegato (che può essere, ripeto, Uncharted 2 o Fifa 10, mentre c’è una versione a 325 euro con due film in blue ray e telecomando).

Torniamo a sabato mattina. Il mio intento era quello di farmi finanziare l’intero importo, ma tra il dire e il fare c’è di mezzo il mare. Pur essendoci andato all’alba (erano le 9 di mattina…), da MW c’era un pò di casino e di disorganizzazione. Una sola commessa doveva gestire il gran numero di personcine che chiedevano info sui pc, mentre altre si aggiravano per il negozio in attesa che qualcuno chiedesse lumi sui microonde o sulle spazzole elettroniche che fanno anche da vibratori. Un suo collega si mise a sistemare un minipc di un cliente e rimase bloccato per un’ora nell’invano tentativo di sistemarlo. Gli vedevo aprire mille cartelle e questo non è buon segno. Un tecnico che apre tante finestre è come un cuoco che continua a mettere spezie nel cibo.

Dopo una lunga attesa e conseguentemente alla mia amata Legge di Murphy, fedele compagna di vita, la signorina mi invita a rivolgermi ad un altro ragazzo. Il ragazzo, simpatico e brillante come è giusto che sia un commesso che vende console, mi dice che l’informazione sul finanziamento non è di sua competenza e mi manda al “corner” dove ci sono graziose signorine che si occupano di queste robe (io non sono esperto, compro sempre in contanti).

Mi reco al corner e trovo altro casino perchè, in quel box, fanno di tutto: ricariche telefoniche, ricevimento di apparecchi guasti, spiegazioni sul perchè la macchina che fa l’acqua con le bollicine non funziona (cazzo allora non sono solo io che faccio acquisti del minchio !), spiegazioni sul perchè la macchina fotografica non riesce a mettere a fuoco il culo della moglie, attivazione di nuove schede telefoniche, pagamento con assegno ed emissione fattura. Insomma, tutto ruota attorno a quel povero box. La sera, quelle povere butele, saranno più esaurite di me. Già me le vedo in stile Lino Banfi in un famoso film.

Dopo aver aspettato un’altra mezz’ora, mi viene detto che posso pagare il tutto tramite comode rate e, visto che sono single, mi regalano una vagina vibrante. Scherzi a parte, avrei potuto pagare in un anno, 40 euro al mese ma con interessi di 60 euro. Una cifra, secondo me, alta, considerati anche i tempi che corrono (ormai tutti fanno il tasso zero anche se devi comprare quattro pile duracel).

Esco da Mediaword per rinfrescarmi le idee e vado a fare colazione. Al bar mi incazzo come sempre da quando faccio colazione in un bar veneto (quindi da otto anni), perchè mi fanno il caffè nel momento in cui mi danno la brioches (aspetta zio can, dammi il tempo di magnar !) e rifletto sulla cifra da sborsare tutta in un colpo. Ovviamente è immancabile l’sms a mio fratello che gestisce il “Mobys Help desk”: lui rappresenta la voce della mia coscienza, ovvero mi dice se è meglio evitare l’acquisto X per acquistare Y e via dicendo. Mentre azzannavo il mio bel cornetto al cioccolatto, mi arriva il responso “vai tranquillo, che ti resta nella vita ?”. Per la serie: quando tre parole sono più incisive di mille discorsi.

Rientrai nel negozio e, tra lo stupore dei presenti, afferrai al volo la console (loro non sapevano che, da due ore, la guardavo sbavando, come se avessi davanti una tizia in minigonna), presi un cavo hdmi dorato (perchè io valgo) e andai alla cassa. Acquisto fatto. Ieri pomeriggio ho montanto la mia nuova console, ho rivisto (con piacere) le schermate che già conoscevo, ho fatto tutti i settaggi per connettermi ad internet e, ovviamente, ho provato Uncharted 2: un capolavoro, come il primo, più del primo. Una grafica che ti fa restare a bocca aperta. Il ripercorrere certi enigmi (che rappresentarono l’aspetto più esaltante della prima edizione, cioè quella di capire dove saltare, dove salire, ecc.), mi ha fatto totalmente dimenticare l’ammontare della cifra esborsata.

Ovviamente non venderò più la Playstation, così come non vendo la Wii, che non accendo da tanto tempo. Sono acquisti che mi hanno regalato (e la play mi regalerà anche in futuro, ne sono certo) momenti di grande svago e, personalmente, in questo periodo storico, non trovo niente di meglio.

Come ho detto tante volte, più o meno tra le righe, internet sta attraversando una fase molto cadaverica per il sottoscritto; non costituisce più un bel passatempo, come era ai tempi delle chat di mirc, quando la gente aveva un approccio completamente diverso.

Il fine del chattista era quello di scambiare due chiacchiere e magari conoscere qualche signorina. C’era chi andava solo in ”query” (discussioni, in privato, tra due persone) e chi, come me, amava stare ”in chan” per fare casino e ridere. Cazzo, quanto si rideva.

La chat era un mezzo per raggiungere il fine del comunicare.

I social network di adesso sono già un fine. Si parte con l’iscriversi per poi cercare di capire il perchè ci si iscrive. “Io sono qua perchè ci sono tutti. Ora devo capire cosa cazzo fare”.

Molti considerano facebook un passo dovuto, ma non sanno cosa vuol dire comunicare e condividere. Lo dirò sino all’infinito, lo ripeterò finchè questo blog avrà vita. Dal mio punto di vista, non vedo gente che vuole comunicare, vedo solo persone che vogliono apparire. Il mezzo e i mezzi non si discutono, sono anche validi (ottimo facebook, per esempio, per stare in contatto con gli amici, ecco perchè non mi cancello), ma è sbagliato il “nuovo approccio” che ha la gente.

Se fossero tutti bimbiminkia, potrei capirlo. Il guaio è che ci sono tante persone di 40 e 50 anni che hanno comprato il pc per iscriversi a facebook. Un mezzo autoreferenziale, diceva, giustamente, un mio amico ieri sera. Tante persone mostrano le proprie emozioni/incazzature/gioie/dolori, ma nessuno le discute. Un vero peccato. Abbiamo uno Stadio pieno di gente che non esulta nemmeno se ha segnato Zoff di testa su calcio d’angolo.

Vedo tanti spunti interessanti che rimangono fini a se stessi (tranne un “mi piace” qua e là, che tanto costa poco), vedo gente che si iscrive a mille gruppi, ma che non ti risponde al messaggio privato, vedo gente che si precipita a correggerti l’errore grammaticale, ho visto numerosi incidenti diplomatici (“potevi dirmelo che andavi al cinema sabato sera”), ho visto gente cancellare una mia risposta perchè “sto facendo un ragionamento tecnicotattico con una tizia” !

Insomma, apri una discussione su facebook, ma non vuoi che gli altri intervengano perchè potrebbero intralciare la tua discussione con la scema di turno ? Ma sai cosa vuol dire Internet ? Sai cosa è il dialogare, l’interagire, il confrontarsi, lo sputtanarsi come faccio io con questo cazzo di blog inutile, il litigare, l’apprezzare, il criticare, l’amare ?

Scarsissimi ! Il livello del popolo internettiano si è abbassato, negli ultimi anni, in maniera paurosa. Ed io sono orgoglioso di fare parte di un’altra generazione, sono orgoglioso di aver visto nascere questo mezzo, di essere andato in giro con mio fratello a parlare con pseudo esperti di wingate e condivisione di due pc, quando la gente pensava che la Lan fosse un’associazione animalista. Altro che wi-fi.

Sono orgoglioso di aver scoperto, insieme a Zio Martin e grazie soprattutto a Zio Martin, che un cavo “RJ45 cross” poteva farci navigare insieme. Sono orgoglioso dei raduni che organizzavano i ragazzi di #Palermo, sono orgoglioso e ho nostalgia dei tempi in cui riempivamo Piazza Unità d’Italia e si andava a mangiare una pizza tutti insieme. Quanti eravamo ? 100, 200 ? Quanti articoli ci ha dedicato il “Giornale di Sicilia” ? Adesso, per un trafiletto, ci sono discussioni infinite tra bloggher, più o meno star, più o meno invidiosi . E quanti eravamo quelli di #lamervr ?

Palermo come Verona, due mondi completamente diversi, ma con gente legata da una passione comune: la chat. Si litigava, si veniva “bannati”, ma c’era condivisione e comunicazione. Oggi è tutta fuffa, tutto fumo, il tanto fumo fatto da gente che vuole, come detto, solo apparire: “sono un bloggher, ma me ne guardo dal leggere i blog degli altri”. Scrivo una cazzata su Twitter e giù commenti solo perchè sono più conosciuto di Mobys. E così è più importante dire “oggi serata trasgressiva, mi faccio una sega con la mano sinistra”, piuttosto che discutere temi come “esiste una valida alternativa all’iphone ?”.

Scarsi… guardatevi il Grande Fratello e lasciate perdere la storia di internet perchè voi non siete degni di farne parte. Ah, scusate gli errori grammaticali: sono S C A R S O, altrimenti farei il web designer ingegnier dottored con la supercazzola prematurata e scappellamento a destra.
