So anyway, I was ‘inspired’ to write this post as I stumbled onto something on youtube. But before I present it to you, I would like to take a moment and share with you a few of videos that has been on youtube for a while now. But you know, it’s just to get into the pageant kind of mood.

So anyway guys now that we got into the mood… hopefully, I would like to present to you the video that inspired this post. So, above, I listed the expectations some of us may have when we watch a beauty contest. And the last point (the guy one) may have been a bit wierd to comprehend. However, a GAY beauty pageant held in Brasil (or she he was from Brasil) went very well for this delegate. However, things took an awful turn in her his (dammit!!) interview. Take a look.

So sad when that happens! Even though maybe the angry delegate planned only to sabotage and steal the crown, her hair came off too! Duh! But I guess he or she (I’m so confused as to what to call them) now knows to grow their own hair so something like that won’t happen again!!

Nassau, Bahamas – Organizers of the Miss Universe pageant are pleased with their partnership with The Bahamas. “Based on the comments that we’ve received, they are very pleased with the way that everything is going,” said Minister of Tourism and Aviation, Senator the Hon Vincent Vanderpool-Wallace. “In fact, the organizers said this has been the most organized event they have ever had and they are crediting it not only to the Ministry but also to the corporate partners involved in this venture.”

The Bahamas is hosting the 58th annual Miss Universe Competition featuring 84 of the world’s most beautiful women. It airs live from Atlantis, Paradise Island on August 23 on NBC and Telemundo. Paula Shugart, president of the Miss Universe Competition, said having the competition here epitomizes the qualities that are unique to The Bahamas. “Paradise,” she said. “There is no better name for the beauty of The Bahamas and this island.

“The worldwide telecast will highlight the warmth, beauty and hospitality of the islands of The Bahamas as well as the world renowned Atlantis Resort.” Her organization, she said, has had “a wonderful working relationship” with the Bahamas and Atlantis for many years. “I’m very excited that this global event will take this partnership to a whole new level,” she said.

Added Minister Vanderpool-Wallace: “The people of The Bahamas are proud and excited at the opportunity to host some of the most beautiful people in the universe in some of the most beautiful islands in the universe. “This feels like the perfect match. We look forward to showcasing the hospitality of our people, the clarity of our waters, the vibrancy of our music, dance, food and spirit.” The reigning Miss Universe, Venezuelan, Dayana Mendoza, has traveled the world as an advocate for HIV/AIDS education, research and legislation. Contestants will be judged in three categories swimsuit, evening gown and the interview.

The competition will be hosted by Billy Bush, co-anchor of ‘Access Hollywood’ and Claudia Jordan of ‘Celebrity Apprentice’ and ‘Deal or no Deal.” International artists, Flo Rida will perform his hits ‘Right Round’ and ‘Jump’ during the swimsuit segment. There will also be a performances by reality star Heidi Montag featuring her single ‘Turn ya head’. David Guetta and Kelly Rowland will sing their hit single ‘When love takes over’ during the evening gown segment. Donald Trump and Phil Gurin will serve as Executive producers.

Sushmita Sen turns 34 on Nov 19th. She was 18 when she won the Miss Universe crown. Since then the actress has lived the good life her way.

Unlike most beauty pageant winners Sush didn’t pledge her eyes and rather than wait for death to do something of consequence, the lady adopted a little girl, Renee.

She didn’t wait for a man to hand her a diamond the size of a golf ball. She picked it up herself. She continues to date the most charming men around without hiding behind the beaten to death comment “We are just friends”.

She is the face of Olay’s anti-ageing cream but she attributed her youthful looks to Kaballah, a spiritual discipline.

She received many offers in Bollywood and though the misses are more than the hits she is still in the running, her personality standing taller than her acting skills.

Her comic portrayal of “the other woman” in Biwi No. 1 was applauded.

She made the world swoon when she appeared in chiffon sarees as a lecturer in Main Hoon Na with Shahrukh Khan.

She was seen in an item number in Fiza which starred Karishma Kapoor and Hrithik Roshan. She was seen with Salman Khan again in Maine Pyar Kyun Kiya. The movie also starred Katrina Kaif.

In her 34th year now, Sush is getting ready for her release Dulha Mil Gaya, which sees SRK in a special appearance.

Two former Miss Universe contestants are stealing the sex tape scandal spotlight, after a home video hit the web reportedly featuring Miss Japan 2008 and Miss Trinidad and Tobago 2008 engaged — fully engaged — in a hardcore three-way with some dude, reportedly a professional photographer.

Hiroko Mima (Japan) and Anya Ayoung-Chee (T&T) both competed in the 2008 Miss Universe pageant.

TMZ spoke with a rep from the Miss Universe pageant who tells us, “This was apparently eight months after the pageant and neither were the reigning titleholder..”

The photographer is NOT a Miss Universe staffer so we have nothing to say or any involvement … thank goodness

TMZ won’t be publishing the movie. Damn!

Tmz is reporting that they spoke with Wyatt Gallery. He is the man caught with the two Miss Universe Pageant Contestants. He claims his laptop was sabotaged when he took it for repairs. He also claims he was not lucky enough to have slept with Miss Japan. The other lady in the tape was just a close friend of miss T&T.

Apart from the poor choice of leaving the video on his computer while it was out for repairs, Wyatt sounds like a stand up guy. He felt remorse for the embarrassment he has brought to Miss T&T, but he also saved Miss Japan from humiliation.

Let me say, I use to work for a cell phone insurance company, and when we get bored we go through people’s cell phones and see all the lovely home videos or pictures they record on their phones. If you are stupid enough to tape yourself, then don’t get embarrassed when the world sees your handy work.

Stop Looking for and searching miss universe s3x tape leaked!

I was walking through CHOGM Village in POS Trinidad the other evening, which is next to the Hyatt Regency @ the Waterfront. There are all these booths with vendors and it’s a nice place to take an evening stroll. The sunset was pretty breathtaking as well!

I came across this tent where a young man had the cutest dolls dressed in Carnival Costumes. Of course it stopped me in my tracks! I mean costumes on dolls, how cute is that! I took a few pictures and his contact information.

I thought it was worth mentioning, and I’m sure avid doll collectors would really love them. I was wondering however, if any of these were actual replicas of costumes from the Miss Universe contest or if that is just a marketing strategy. None of them looked familiar, but they are adorable all the same!

All information I could find about this beautiful woman is several articles about her in Wikipedia. So, the second Miss Universe pageant, that was held on July 17, 1953 at Long Beach Municipal Auditorium, became Miss France, 18-year-old Christiane Martel. She successfully won the competition, and was crowned by actress Julie Adams.

The second Miss Universe were born in Paris, France in 1932. Shortly after her reign, Martel embarked on a successful career in international films, appearing in movies such as Yankee Pasha, So This Is Paris, the 1956 version of Corazón salvaje (playing the villain Aimée), Viva el Amor!, Rosa Blanca and her last film to date, 1961’s Leoni al Sole. Martel was married briefly to Ronnie Marengo, a department store heir, whom she divorced in 1955.

She later married Miguel Alemán Velasco, who would become Governor of Veracruz and is the son of Miguel Alemán Valdés, former president of Mexico. She presently resides in Mexico in the state of Veracruz. They have three daughters and one son. Their son, Miguel Alemán Magnani is a stakeholder of Televisa and the owner of low-cost airline, Interjet. She made her last television appearance at the Miss Universe pageants in 1993 and 2007 that were held in Mexico.

Is she fault for being foolish and hence I have the right to rewind and rewatch it constantly and stand in judgement.

Well, they don’t say that last part cos who the hell admits they’re a hypocrite? But you get our drift.

Look, adults have sex. And at 28, Anya is more than old enough to have sex with two other consenting adults and to push the envelope and get freaky if she wants to.

For our part, we’re not going to judge her for that. Sex happens. Sex videos do, too.

November is a month loaded with parades, colorful school uniforms, drums and bugles.  Students practice for months to show off their skills during the November parades.  Thousands of dollars are spent buying uniforms and musical equipment for the bands.  Boatloads of digital cameras are used by proud parents during the parades to capture the moment of glory of their children.  November is a great month in Panama.  It’s the month of the Motherland; in Spanish Patria.

On November 3rd. I went out with my wife to Via España to take some pictures of one of the two parades organized by the Ministry of Education.  The other event was held at the Presidential Palace in the Old Shell of the city, also known as Casco Viejo.

It was a rainy, dark, and cloudy day.  But that didn’t stop the marching bands.   No Sir, it was business as usual.  However, I did hear from some street vendors complaining that sales were not as good as last year.  But still, they showed up with their “raspaos”, “carne en palitos”, ice cream cones, apples covered with honey, Chinese umbrellas, plastic hats and a lot of other interesting merchandise.  Street peddlers in Panama are very active during these days. As a matter of fact, they are active all year-round.

Below are some of the images captured during this damp day at Via España.  Even though it was not an ideal day to take pictures, in general I would say they came out quite satisfactory.  My Birthday camera did a good job.  Now here we go.

A few weeks back, I had a chance to interview Miss Universe Canada 2009, Mariana Valente.  Valente is a York student, and I thought it would make a good feature piece in the paper. Valente competed in the Miss Universe competition in the Bahamas this year, and although she didn’t win, she has an interesting story nonetheless. From what I gathered in my research for the piece, there is lots of bits and pieces written about her, but nothing substantial.  She was on ET Canada, she did a segment of eTalk Daily, and there were a few small articles here and there around the time of the pageant.

A few days ago, the Toronto Sun ran a similar piece on Valente.  I think the author  must be a close relative of hers (I hope), because it’s the only way I can possibly think of accounting for gems like these:

“Our little miss is an angel of mercy for the kids of Brazil.”

“You could sink a rainforest in those big, brown eyes.”

“Much more than a pretty face is our Mariana.”
