And with Michaele Salahi yesterday having been caught out—Facebook pompoms notwithstanding—as a bogus cheerleader for the Washington Red Skins and not a model for Victoria’s Secret as claimed, Canada Free Press (CFP) leaves it to FoxNews.com to find out if she ever was a “former Miss USA”.

We do know for a fact that among the slew of memberships on charitable boards, Tareq Salahi is a former member of The American Task Force on Palestine (ATFP). The only way to know for a fact is because even though ATFP scrubbed all references to Salahi as a board member, he can still be found on Google cache. (Canada Free Press)

Sad that White House Secret Service are looking like Keystone Kops in the aftermath of Obama’s very first state house dinner in the tent.

Google has a thing for scrubbing anything that might shine a negative light on BHussein. They even removed the term “climategate” from their drop down search menu. It was there several days ago.

While the media is fixated on the hitch in Michaele Salahi’s git-along, there can be no doubt that these recently minted “party crashers” really get around.

We take you back to June 9, 2005 when Tom Nelson, operating officer of AARP, was summing up the Rock the Vote Awards night. According to the Washington Post “everyone from Sens. John McCain and Barack Obama to “American Idol” judge Randy Jackson and R&B singer Mya gathered in the National Building Museum’s Great Hall:

“You were probably wondering, as you sat down at your table, ‘What the heck is the AARP doing in a Rock the Vote Event?’” Nelson noted.

Time would soon tell that the AARP would show up in other fishy places.

And if there is anyone who must know that this weekend’s party crasher story is a crock it’s John McCain who was at the Vote Awards Night, and who along with Barack Obama, was honored with the Rock the Nation Award, Obama “for forming a multiracial coalition in winning his seat”.

Meanwhile, don’t know why Obama’s long time associates possibly could be mistaken for party crashers when they came into the tent with a Bravo Reality TV Show “Real Housewives of DC” professional camera crew and makeup artist in tow unless he was hoping for a Reality gig for wife Michelle, CBS celebrity Katie Couric or Chief of Staff Rahm Emanuel.

Well, at least they didn’t use their child as a tool in order to get a spot on a Reality TV show. We ALL remember BALLOON boy. Fucking idiots.

Obama could end the “party crasher” goose chase for White House Secret Service in a proverbial New York Minute by coming clean on his almost 5-year-old social/political relationship with Tareq and Michaele Salahi.

It could save money in these recessionary times and put an end to the drama of Washington’s “unprecedented” first state dinner in a tent.

Wait; did THIS CanadaFreePress journalist just use “Obama” and “save money” in the same article? COME ON, NOW.

So, above, I listed the expectations some of us may have when we watch a beauty contest. And the last point (the guy one) may have been a bit wierd to comprehend. However, a GAY beauty pageant held in Brasil (or she he was from Brasil) went very well for this delegate. However, things took an awful turn in her his (dammit!!) interview. Take a look.

So sad when that happens! Even though maybe the angry delegate planned only to sabotage and steal the crown, her hair came off too! Duh! But I guess he or she (I’m so confused as to what to call them) now knows to grow their own hair so something like that won’t happen again!!

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade is a national holiday tradition, and has been so for the past 83 years, and this year the tradition continued.

This year, the parade route returns to its roots with it ending at 34th street right in front of the Macy’s store. This is different than it has been in recent years.

 There is a list of performers that include Katharine McPhee, Jane Krakowski, and we have Spiderman, Kermit and Spongebob floating down the parade route. Ziggy Marley, the son of the legendary Reggae singer Bob Marley, performed a song with his daughter on a float decorated as a pirate ship.

 Ziggy performed his new song ”It’s Family Time” while holding his daughter in his arms so she could reach the mike…very cute.

Katharine McPhee, sporting her new sassy blonde ‘do, performed her new single “Had It All.” Jane Krakowski performed a Christmas tune. She may play a ditzy spoiled celeb on “30 Rock,” but in real-life Krakowski is quite the songbird.

Teen superstar Miley Cyrus made an exuberant appearance waving to her throngs of excited fans that lined the parade route waiting patiently for the international superstar. She looked great, in light of the bush crash tragedy that killed her long time tour bus driver this past friday. Today was much happier times for her.

The Macy’s Thanksgiving Parade aired on CBS and NBC at noon ET/9 am PT.

Former Miss California Carrie Prejean has seen some ups and downs over the last year or so.  While appearing in the Miss USA pageant over a year ago, Prejean created controversy after she stated her belief that marriage should be considered a sacred union between a man and a woman. After losing the pageant, and being criticized by judge Perez Hilton, Prejean appeared in advertisements for the Proposition 8 campaign, and became a frequent guest on political talk shows. The drama has continued, however. After suing the Miss USA pageant, Prejean was recently forced to settle when lawyers showed her a personal sex tape from her earlier years and threatened to make it public.

The news of the sex tape, which followed earlier stories about scandalous photographs she took as a teen model, put Prejean in an awkward position since she was set to promote her recently released book on the pageant that changed her life. Forced to address the sex tape scandal, Prejean called the incident the “biggest mistake” of her life and explained that she engaged in the sexual behavior for a partner in a long distance relationship. However, the scandal deepened with news that there were many other sex tapes and pictures that have yet to be made public.

Under pressure, and obviously refusing to discuss the matter any longer, Prejean made her situation worse when she stormed off the set of Larry King Live after the host asked her about her recent settlement. To see that incident yourself watch the following video:

1.  Prejean does not seem to be recovering very well from the sex scandal. If you were on her crisis management team, how would you repair her reputation?

2.  Some might say that Prejean is in major trouble because she is guilty of hypocrisy. According to this logic, why is Prejean – who criticized people for living a homosexual lifestyle – a hypocrite for appearing in private sex tapes?

3.  It appears that Prejean might have performed in more “inappropriate” videos and pictures that have yet to be released. Should she wait to address those embarrassing images when they are made public, or should she be completely open about all that might be out there?  What does she have to win or lose by being completely honest?

Eyes Open…We’re Watching!!!

We’re starting to love Carrie Prejean, the FORMER Miss California USA, more and more every day! Recently in an interview with Christianity Today, Carrie defended her breast implants by saying, “I don’t see anywhere in The Bible where it says you shouldn’t get breast implants.” She goes on to discuss her solo masturbation tape in another interview calling it, “the biggest mistake of my life.” Oh lady…If you should ever be so lucky to be a celebrity and have a sex tape found…you own it, completely! Anyway, we’re no idiots and know she is doing all of this to gain as much attention as possibly so she can legitimately pose in Playboy…or dare we say, Hustler??? We could only hope!!!

In other pageant news, our dear friends Miss Indiana USA 2008 Brittany Mason and pageant expert J. Scot Reid, escorted the boys of raannt to their first “all girl pageant”, Miss Indiana USA and Miss Teen Indiana USA. What an amazing time!

We also want to congratulate the new Miss Teen Indiana USA 2010, Madeline Plesac, and Miss Indiana USA 2010, Allison Biehle!!! Both are so gorgeous and extremely perfect examples to represent our fair state…

And speaking of representing…what happened to Brittany Mason representing the good ole USA in the Miss World Pageant! It appears that instead of sending Brittany, they chose Lisa-Marie Kohrs. We were actually with Brittany when she received, after she sent numerous, numerous emails and phone messages, a return call simply stating they chose not to go with her. When we asked her what she thought, she stated that she could care less at this point and she felt the Miss World Pageant was completely unorganized and unprofessional. She wished Lisa-Marie the best and hoped the Miss World people had given her enough notice to be fully prepared for the pageant. Needless to say…Brittany has many, many more exciting things in her wake, but we do think it’s interesting that Wikipedia, as well as several, several pageant forums and blogposts stated that Brittany WAS the US representative…How embarrassing for Miss World…so is Lisa-Marie actually second choice? I guess we’ll never know…we did hear that several people felt Brittany was too old looking for the pageant…we completely disagree but we’ll post both girls pictures and you be the judge…

She is also a self-righteous prig more than willing to make pronouncements about how other folks should live their lives, and was eager to portray herself as a victim of religious intolerance when she was fired for failing to honor the contract and code of conduct she’d agreed to in accepting her oh-so-important crown as a beauty queen. Since she’s hot, religious, self-righteous, and crying victim-hood, she has of course become one of the more recent poster children of the far Right in this country.

She was suing Miss USA in a fine moral snit, claiming religious persecution, when the Miss USA folks pulled out a tape of self-made porn she’d produced for a boyfriend at some point and ran it for her and her mom. Voila. Instant settlement.

Apparently there are at least eight such videos that have come to light, and it seems inevitable that they’re going to wind up on the Internets. Under normal circumstances, I frown on such things, because they’re immense invasions of privacy. But in a case like Carrie’s, I have to admit to enjoying some schadenfreude, much as I do when rabidly anti-gay GOP leaders get caught blowing dudes in bathrooms or texting dirty messages to teenage boys. The only thing that might make this better would be a porn tape Carrie made with Sarah Palin.

For the interested, two NSFW stills from one of her home movies have been leaked already, and can be seen here and here.  And, yes indeed, Carrie Prejean is a beautiful woman.

When we raise our children and try to instill ambition, drive, character, morals, and ethics into these little creatures, in hopes that they become productive and valuable members of our society. We do so knowing full well that they will still faulter and that they will still be as we all are human. We know this and we love them anyway and we forgive.

Carrie Prejean has been put in situation of defending herself, her reputation, and her values to a skeptical country and a rabid media that is all too ambitious in seeing the demise of a person that has not committed a crime, violated any code of conduct, placed anyone in danger, or hurt or harmed anyone.

In a time of great trials and breaking tragedies, this continues to dominate the air waves, blogs, internet chatter, and press print. Why? Are those attackers of this woman so dead set against her moral position on marriage that they will destroy her reputation and leave her remains in plain view to deter any others that share her opinion.

The true target in this controversy should be Perez Hilton and not Carrie Prejean. This sodomite and his minions of mayhem that kicked the ball rolling by asking a 20 something pagent contestent about her OPINION of marriage. It was this creature that attacked Carrie Prejean both on air and on line and launch vile and distasteful attacks. In the wake of all of this controversy, Carrier Prejean has lost her crown, her reputation has been ASSAULTED, she has had to spend time and resources on her defense and she has been villainized by a media and a segment of the population that will never allow her to pick herself up and dust herself off.

We hope to raise our children well, and hope that examples and role models are prevelent to their lives to serve as examples. The people that we hope will be examples are not always the ones that have lived a “perfect” life but rather those individuals that put their name and their life up for scrutiny and show their fallacy and the depth of their personal and professional missteps and failures. These individuals truly know the pitfalls that missteps provide and they are willing to deal with the embarrassment and the pain to be above all else, a beacon to others.

Carrie Prejean deserves better of this country.

Saga o Carrie Prejean, bivšoj Miss Kalifornije, dobila je novo poglavlje i nakon otkrića koje ju je – prema mišljenju liberalne javnosti – trebalo strpati u ropotarnicu povijesti.

Prejean je na naslovnice došla zahvaljujući tome što je na izboru za Miss SAD, na pitanje o tome što misli o istospolnom braku dala isti odgovor koji su u studenom 2008. bili dali birači Kalifornije na ustavnom referendumu. S obzirom na to da homoseksualci dominiraju svijetom mode i, posredno, industrijom izbora ljepote, nije bilo teško pretpostaviti kako će se Prejean zbog tih “neizrecivih” stavova provesti kao reggae bend na proslavi Ku Klux Klana. Prvi je u tome prednjačio Perez Hilton, celebrity bloger, samodeklarirani homoseksualac i član žirija koji je postavio inkriminirano pitanje – nakon što je misicu nazvao imenima koja nisu za tisak, utvrdio je da je upravo zbog svog “verbalnog delikta” ostala bez nacionalne titule. Nakon toga je započela kampanja da joj se oduzme i ona državna.

Argumente za to nije trebalo dugo tražiti. Nakon otkrića da joj je direkcija izbora za Miss Universe platila ugradnju silikona u grudi, došlo je otkriće fotografija u toplesu. Vlasnik licence Donald Trump ju je neko vrijeme branio od nasrtaja, ali je odustao te joj na kraju oduzeo titulu pri čemu se navodio spor oko nastupa u reality emisijama. Prejean, koja je postala miljenica konzervativnog dijela javnosti i glasnogovornicom Nacionalne organizacije za brak (NOM), nije se s time pomirila te je pokrenula tužbu, tražeći povratak titule ili  milijun dolara odštete.

Onda je došao trenutak koji je trebao staviti točku na cijelu priču. Prilikom preliminarnog izvođenja dokaza Prejeanovoj, njenoj majci i odvjetnicima je predočeno ono što su mediji nazvali “seks snimkom”, te je Prejean istog trenutka odustala od tužbe, odnosno prihvatila nagodbu koja je, po riječima oduševljenih reportera, “iznosila manje od cijene za parking”. To je predstavljao trijumf za liberale, s obzirom da je konzervativna mezimica Prejean raskrinkana kao još jedan konzervativni licemjer koji javno promiče tradicionalne vrijednosti, a u stvarnom životu prakticira razvrat.

Prije deset ili čak prije pet godina to bi uistinu bio kraj priče o Carrie Prejean. Dio konzervativaca je odustao od Prejean, a NOM joj pokazao vrata. Međutim, izgleda da više ni seks-snimka nije ono što je nekada bila. Umjesto da nestane, Prejean je nastavila s medijskim nastupima nastojeći dati svoju stranu priče. Prema njoj, u pitanju nije seks-snimka nego “snimke koje je napravila sama” za svog tadašnjeg momka te mu poslala mobitelom. Bivši – koji je uživao u čak u šest takvih poklona – je po svemu sudeći “namirisao” priliku da spoji ugodno s korisnim, te problematične snimke ponudio zainteresiranim stranama, uključujući porno-izdavača Vivid Entertainment, koji tvrdi da ih je nabavio “legalno”. Vivid također tvrdi da ih neće objaviti bez suglasnosti Prejeanove, a kontroverza je vezana i uz navode Prejeanove da su napravljene u vrijeme kada je imala 17 godina, što bi izdavača, ali i samu Prejeanovu, moglo dovesti pod udar američkih zakona o maloljetničkog pornografiji.

Web-stranica TMZ.com, koja je također došla u posjed snimke, tvrdi kako je snimka “legalna”, odnosno da Prejean laže, jer su njene “igre” datirale iz vremena kada je imala 20 godina. U međuvremenu se na istoj stranici pojavio i intervju koji cijeloj priči daje novu, zanimljiviju dimenziju.

Jason Chaffetz, republikanski kongresnik iz Utaha, je TMZ-u na pitanje o Prejeanovoj rekao da bivša misica “posjeduje mogućnost okupljanja mase i prenošenja snažne poruka” te “zvjezdanu moć koja otvara vrata”. Također je rekao “Svi smo radili pogreške u dobi od 17 godina.  (Seks snimka) može biti prepreka, ali su ljudi uzbuđeni zbog njenih uvjerenja”. TMZ je intervjuu dao naslov “Kongresnik: Prejean bi trebala postati političarka”.

Chaffetz je odmah nakon toga izjavio da je TMZ previše “kreativno” obradio njegov intervju, odnosno zaboravio unijeti odgovor na pitanje “Da li je Prejean nova Sarah Palin”. Chaffetz tvrdi da je rekao da je “biti natjecateljica na izboru ljepote daleko od biti kandidatkinja za potpredsjednika SAD”.

God save us! No stranger to controversy, former Miss USA contestant Carrie Prejean’s been running the circuit promoting her new book “Still Standing” and is managing to stir quite the sh*tstorm. Most recently and notably was her threat to walk off Larry King’s show last Wednesday because he asked her pointed questions about her motives for dropping her libel, slander and religious discrimination lawsuit against pageant officials.

Since stepping into the limelight, Prejean has been raising questions about her integrity with asinine, hypocritical and bigoted statements. I’m not just talking about her infamous response to pageant judge Perez Hilton’s question about her stance on same-sex marriage. In a recent interview with Christianity Today, Prejean gives poorly tailored responses to questions about her breast implants (compliments of the Miss USA Pageant), recently leaked sex video(s) and whether she has any regrets. If anything, it’s a comprehensive account of how delusional she is. Some highlights:

• I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn’t get breast implants.
• Did I think I would ever be a celebrity or that my boyfriend at the time, who I sent it to, would ever blackmail me? No.
• We as Christians need to stick together and realize that the Enemy is powerful, and that there are so many people out there who will try and destroy good people.

Towards the end of the interview, she answers the question “How does your faith play into reacting to people who try to bully you?,” with “No one’s perfect, and God’s shown me: ‘Carrie, you just need to stand tall, stand strong, and I’ll get you through this. They won’t win.’” And it’s what I find most annoying about this hot mess. Every time anyone calls on Carrie to defend her verbal diarrhea, she recoils under a “victim of religious beliefs carapace.” It’s the height of disingenuousness.

Her “I’m not who I was back then” canned response to the questions regarding the scandalous masturbation video she sent to her then-boyfriend (who rumors that the videos were actually made when she was 20 and not seventeen) is getting really old. It’s probably safe to say that she doesn’t quite know who she is. Go away for awhile, Carrie. Maybe when you come back, you’ll have done something worthwhile and actually be the agent of change you allude to being in recent interviews. In the meantime, a piece of advice from our 16^th president, Abe: “It’s better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak out and remove all doubt.”

PS – a note to Sean Hannity, Sarah Palin and the like: holding Carrie Prejean up as the poster child for political and religious badgering is imprudent. Her sensationalism might boost ratings and draw attention but—similar to the Palin phenomenon—it’s shortsighted and further detriment to a political party that is hanging on by a mortal thread.

I’m old: I have several silver hairs sprouting up around my temples just like Earth-2 Superman, pop music makes me angry, and if I don’t get to bed before 11 PM, I tend to be forgetful at work the next day and wander away from my cubicle.  And, like most old people, I am of the firm conviction that everything was way better when I was younger.  The rock stars wore more makeup, the movies had more space ships, and the tv shows had more hair.  Hell, even the bad things were somehow cut from a finer cloth than the bad things we’re stuck with today.  When I was younger, bad things were bad in a way that had meaning and gravitas.  These bad things–like the nuclear threat presented by the Soviet Bloc, and the belligerent wholesomeness of The Lawrence Welk Show– represented the culmination of a generation’s worth of massive-scale ideological brinksmanship from which there could be no turning back.   I’m talking about a time when the “zealot” pigeonhole was big enough to house more than just a contingent of Middle Eastern malcontents; back in the day, bad things and their respective attendants truly believed in their causes.  And they meant business.  With this historical perspective in mind, I really have a hard time taking Carrie Prejean seriously.  After all, I remember Anita Bryant.

Anita Bryant: now there’s a bitch to contend with.  I stumbled upon Bryant in an article in Time about her campaign to “Save Our Children From Homosexuality” when I was 8 years old.  I didn’t know what homosexuality was.  I did know I liked Nova from Planet of the Apes a whole bunch.   And Sabrina from Charlie’s Angels.  And that one girl in my class who was really good at dodgeball.  I wasn’t able to make the connection between myself and the people Anita Bryant sought to oppress, but nonetheless, I came away from that Time article feeling a mixture of anger and indignation.  I didn’t know much about hatred or intolerance back then, either, but thanks to Anita Bryant, I found myself on the fast track to learning.  Who the hell did she think she was, taking rights away from people and telling them how to live, I smoldered.  And right there, on the spot, I made that most sacred of grade school vows: ”Anita Bryant is not the boss of me!”

Anita Bryant was hard-core.  She didn’t just want to “protect marriage” from the “gay menace”; she wanted to legalize discrimination against gay people in regards to housing, employment, and public accommodation.  In other words, Anita Bryant wanted a world in which the difference between hobo and homo amounted to a handful of tattered accessories and a certain way of walking.  And she wanted that world badly enough to found and head up an organization (hysterically named Save Our Children) to create that world.  Bryant was a Disney villainess of a sort:  a larger than life persona with arched eyebrows, cold eyes, and a strangely wolfish smile who carried within her cloaks the threat Your Children Are Not Safe.  And as such, her tactics played to the darkest fears of middle America: “As a mother, I know that homosexuals cannot biologically reproduce children; therefore, they must recruit our children.” 

Anita Bryant got results.  She was able to rally up enough hatred and terror to not only make legal gay oppression in her home of Dade County, Florida, but to create an environment in which homophobia maintained a 31-year stranglehold on the rights of gay people to adopt children in that state.  Because of Anita Bryant and her efforts with Save Our Children people lost jobs, they were prohibited housing, and thousands of children were denied safe and loving homes.  That bitch was no joke.

Which brings me to Carrie Prejean.  Granted, the cultural landscape has changed significantly since I was a kid, and despite my geriatric gripes, it has changed for the better.  While things are far from perfect, at least the trumped-up allegations that Bryant used to trumpet in the mainstream media have toned down to hissed innuendoes from the fringe.  The battle field is no longer one upon which we are forced to struggle for our basic rights to work for a living or maintain a roof over our heads, but to obtain the same protections and rights for our committed relationships and families that are enjoyed and sometimes taken for granted by straight people.  So a new age brings forth a new beauty queen to try to be the boss of us.  But Carrie Prejean is no Anita Bryant.

Carrie Prejean is an opportunist.  She became famous because she made the statement “…I think that I believe that marriage should be between a man and a woman, no offense to anybody out there.”  (I can almost envision Anita Bryant looking up from the green glow emanating from her enormous caldron, snarling “‘No offense?!?’”)  Carrie Prejean did not found the National Organization for Marriage.  She doesn’t lead it.  She is employed by it.   In essence, anyone who focuses their frustration on Carrie Prejean is as misguided as those dorks who confused Joe Camel with the tobacco industry. 

Carrie Prejean has no strength in her alleged convictions.   Witness her pathetic display of ignorance and immaturity on The Larry King Show this week when asked why she had settled her “religious discrimination” lawsuit against the Miss USA pageant.  As if it wasn’t lame enough to back down from the question “Why settle since you had a fight to carry on?”, Prejean had to take it one step further into Wussy Wonderland by pussing out and pouting instead of taking a call from a gay viewer.  She is not a crusader.  She is a paid spokesmodel who couldn’t hold up her side of a debate if it came equipped with E-Z grip handles.  Based on this week’s performance on King, I’d say the powers that be over at NOM are probably regretting their investment even more than the Miss USA pageant regrets buying Prejean’s breast implants.  At least the implants are doing their job.

Carrie Prejean has allegedly written a book.  The volume is a testament to Prejean’s mastery of the literary arts in that it clearly has a front cover, a back cover, a dust jacket, and pages that are made of paper.  Furthermore, it demonstrates Prejean’s level of commitment as a gay rights opponent as its title, Still Standing,  bears more than a passing resemblance to “I’m Still Standing”, the 1983 hit song by gay marriage activist Elton John.  I can’t wait until Prejean’s Still Standing hits the cutout bin so I can buy it; my copy of Chastity Bono’s Family Outing is lonely and hasn’t had anyone call it “Daddy” since my copy of The Total Woman was consumed by feminist termites.

I could go on.  And on.  The point is, Carrie Prejean is a joke that practically writes itself.  If she’s the worst that the opposition has for us, the future of Gay Marriage in America is far brighter than she is.

  I’ve honestly been rooting against her ever since she announced to Perez Hilton that marriage is between a “man and a woman.” In hindsight, she was diplomatic enough in her statement at the Miss. USA pageant. But once she started crusading to increase her fame, oh no! Then of course we find out she’s a total whore who poses for naked pictures and has done like a million sex tapes. Yet she writes this book about what a devout Christian she is. Hypocrite! And she doesn’t even know how to cover herself, “It was a mistake and I only did it once…” then we find out there are 12 other tapes of her. I was so happy they yanked her crown away from her!

When will this silly chicken-head sit down and shut up?  The ‘pageant queen’ is now telling news and magazine people that her breast implants were ‘approved by the Bible.’     The same ones the pageant organizers sued to get the $5200 they say she ‘borrowed’ to get them. 

The lawsuit filed by K2 -also accuses Prejean of missing events, lying about semi-nude photos, negotiating an unauthorized book deal and using her title without authorization to help promote the National Organization for Marriage’s “campaign of intolerance” against gay marriage.

“I don’t see anywhere in the Bible where it says you shouldn’t get breast implants,” said Prejean.  I dont see anywhere in the Bible where it says you should-says ‘me’.

Now this lady wears her hyped-up Christian faith like a coat, and I guess in order to keep that from conflictin’ with much-discussed breast plumpin’, she said this stupid shyt. 

Since her ejection from the Miss USA organization, a so-called solo sex tape of Prejean — as well as a rumored collection of some 30-plus nude photos and other sexy footage – has emerged, prompting Prejean to defend herself on the national TV circuit.

There is a sex vid out there of her to which she claims, “I was really young and immature. It was the worst mistake of my life.”   Ok, with that being said, you’re only 22.  When did all this Bible-thumpin began?    Not too many years between ‘young and immature’ and 22…   Add that to the fact that at first she said it ‘wasn’t her’…

I’m confused.

Really.  She needs to be quiet,  and just fade into the sunset.    Accept that her ‘15-minutes of fame’ are over and move on.   Every time she opens her mouth, she inserts foot,  beginning with her denouncement of gay marriages in June- talkin’ to Perez Hilton of all people.  It’s been runnin’ like a faucet ever since…

Guess what?  That ‘unauthorized‘  book, “Still Standing” is comin’ out soon too.   Now who really wants to read about this broad’s life?   Is there something we dont already know?  I doubt it.  I wont be reading an excerpt, let alone payin’ money for it…

It would seem Miss Prejean hasn’t had any coaching in how to deflect a question she doesn’t want to answer. She’s still in the “poor little ole’ me, everyone’s picking on me just because I don’t think gays should have any rights” mode. She tried to take her microphone off and storm out, but apparently even that didn’t come off as planned. Poor little Carrie, can’t even pull off a snit correctly!

Another burden for our beauty queen to deal with came when her former boyfriend announced that Carrie had done the “solo” sex video for him, and that there was more than just the one! Carrie’s claim that she was a foolish 17 year old when the video was made was disputed by her former paramour, who says she was twenty at the time it was recorded.

The religious right first championed Carrie, who became their darling when Perez Hilton went into queen bitch mode on his blog about her response to his question during the pageant about same-sex marriage. Carrie was instantly the right-wing Princess who was being hated on by the evil homosexual activists for standing up for Christian morality. Milking that for all she could, she was trotted out around the country at right-wing events. She got herself into hot water with the Donald (owner of the Miss USA pageants) after failing to appear at pageant events, and showing up at those unsanctioned right-wing events. The Donald finally told her “YOU”RE FIRED!”, and she sued for “religious discrimination” in her employment. That’s when the “solo” act surfaced, and the trial was suddenly settled with all parties signing non-disclosure agreements. The wingnut cancellations began immediately (see my previous post).

How much you want to bet she ends up doing weather for some TV station in Orange County? Or maybe Fox will put her in her own show. They’ll have a slot to fill after Glenn Beck is gone, assuming the fantasies he believes come true.

Carrie Prejean, former Miss California, threw a fit on Larry King Live Wednesday night. Prejean was upset by King’s line of questioning related to her dethroning earlier this year and removed her mic. The pageant all-star gained attention earlier after she openly opposed same-sex marriage during a line of questioning by one of the participating judges. Not long after her victory she was dethroned by the organization’s owner, Donald Trump. Prejean allegedly did not fill her pageant duties according to contract. She claims that she was dethroned because of her religious beliefs. The open conservative attempted to sue the pageant.

According to CNN, “She sued the pageant, claiming religious discrimination because of her opposition to same-sex marriage. Pageant officials countersued, demanding the former beauty queen repay pageant money spent for her breast implants and give them all the proceeds from her book.”

Wednesday’s fiasco on national television has once again stoked the flames in the direction of this California beauty. Let’s hope she doesn’t swallow her foot on the next show that invites her on set. How many strikes does a beauty queen get anyway? Don’t trip on your mic on the way out.

I normally enjoy Cynthia Yockey’s unique perspective, as a “newly conservative lesbian,” on things, but I’m really disappointed in her latest post comparing the backlash involving Carrie Prejean to that involving the Ft. Hood massacre.   She has some pretty nasty things to say about Ms. Prejean following her actions on Larry King Live. 

She showed her true character again during her recent interview on “The Larry King Show” (above) when he asked her a question that a gracious and/or mature woman would have seen coming and memorized five or six charming and disarming replies for and then changed the subject. (I am ripping off the “charm and disarm” expression from an episode of “The West Wing.”)

King tossed Prejean a softball that hinted at her masturbation video, which she has acknowledged exists. A pro knows that is her golden opportunity to frame the controversy her way and move on — there’s nothing inappropriate about King’s question at all because THIS IS HOW IT’S DONE. However, Prejean is not a pro, so she did not recognize her golden opportunity for what it was, and instead, she took off her mic and prepared to storm off the set — because, you know, she is just that special — or, more likely, because that is how trailer trash think real ladies behave and Prejean was aiming at aping her betters.

Now, I probably would have been more measured and polite about it, but I don’t have a big problem with what Cynthia says here.  I, for one, am quite tired of Ms. Prejean’s continued fame.  I don’t want to continue to write about her, listen to her, or pretty much care about her in any way.  I have no real problem with beauty pageants and the people who participate in them, but I see patents the same way that I see football or soccer (and, I’m sure, the same way some people see my blog): silly and incredibly dull.  I don’t agree with Ms. Prejean’s opinion on gay marriage.  Additionally, I find Ms. Prejean herself to be tedious and not particularly intelligent.  I’m not trying to say that she’s dumb; I don’t think that, either.  It’s just that there is a certain kind of intelligence that one really has to have to comment well on these matters, and I don’t think that she has shown this.  Her failure to 1) properly prepare for King’s questions and 2) react to them gracefully show this lack of intelligence.  Basically, I don’t want to defend her anymore; I don’t want to talk about her anymore. 

I keep doing it, however, only because I feel that the way that she has been treated by the left is evidence of a problem with society as a whole in the way it treats women who dare to step out of their liberal-approved ideological box. 

Here’s where I think Cynthia steps out of line:

 I have to admit that I think Perez Hilton correctly summed up Prejean’s character when he called her “a bitch” and a “cunt” right after the Miss USA pageant last spring.

I’m sorry, this goes too far.  When Perez Hilton said these things, Ms. Prejean merely answered a question, and she answered it in a perfectly respectful manner.  However, even if she had been less respectful, calling a woman a “cunt” or other sexual attacks merely for disagreeing with you is absolutely disgusting.  I don’t care that his shtick is to be bratty and rude; this sort of thing hurts all women who wish to express a political viewpoint.  It says “don’t challenge us or we will hit you where you live.”  It is the exact same thing that was done to Sarah Palin, including, often, the use of that very word, and it is disgusting and wrong.  Disagree, poke fun, even call names, but avoid the sexual attacks.  They’re beneath you, all of you. 

Cynthia went on to make some assertions that I believe are pretty unfounded:

The problem I want noticed is that the backlash by conservatives from Hilton’s questioning Prejean at the Miss USA pageant, followed by his name-calling, which ought to roll off the back of anyone in public life, SHOULD have been limited to Perez, but instead was vicious and literally murderous toward ALL gays. So, because Perez Hilton, who is FAMOUS for being bratty and rude, was bratty and rude to a beauty queen whose primary career skill is her ability to cause erections, conservatives were quick to condemn THE ENTIRE HOMOSEXUAL COMMUNITY TO LIFE-DESTROYING PERPETUAL SECOND-CLASS CITIZENSHIP. THAT is the level of backlash gays have to cope with.

Cynthia, if you saw that, people suggesting that Perez Hilton’s actions were in any way related to all gays, I’m sorry; I truly do hate that for you.  But you gave us no examples of it, and I, a certifiable political junkie, can’t think of any incidents where this occurred.  I certainly don’t think that they were common in any way. 

She went on to say:

yet conservatives are working over-time to parse the distinctions between Muslims and Islamist jihadists AND CALLING FOR NO BACKLASH WHATSOEVER except where it can be proven a crime has been committed or a terrorist act is being planned.”

Again, I’m not sure I’ve seen this at all.  In fact, time after time during this last week I have seen the “religion of peace, my ass” style comments.  (Now, liberals are, of course, parsing like crazy.)  I don’t think anyone’s calling for a backlash against all Muslims (well, I’m sure somebody is, but no one I’m familiar with), but a lot are expressing concerns about the problems associated with Islam. 

Cynthia, I hope you re-think this.

Carrie Prejean is the former Miss California who was asked in the Miss USA Pageant how she felt about Vermont being the fourth state to legalize gay marriages, and if she felt that every state should follow suit, by the blogger Perez Hilton, who was a contest judge.  Ms. Prejean answered that she thought that marriage should be between a man and a woman. Okay. That was an appropriate answer in my book. Nonetheless, I wasn’t a judge and Ms. Prejean did not win the contest.

Because of that answer, Mr. Hilton, who is gay, called Ms. Prejean “a dumb bitch” in one of his blog posts. That tells a lot about the character of the progressive Mr. Hilton. One thing lead to another and Ms. Prejean wound up being somewhat of a celebrity over the incident. Donald Trump the owner of the Miss USA Pageant got involved and even went so far as to recommend Ms. Prejean for a job at Fox News. Fox News did not bite. A beauty contestant does not necessarily a journalist make. I think that it could be said that a lot of people thought that Ms. Prejean had been the victim of the intolerance of the “gay rights” California progressives and leftists in general, and she was. Ms. Prejean got a lot of sympathy from the right, myself included, because of the treatment that she received from Hilton, the Miss USA pageant officials and because Trump eventually fired Prejean as Miss California.

Somewhere in all this controversy photographs of a partially clad Ms. Prejean showed up, something that was not in keeping with the Christian self-portrayal of Prejean. However, Ms. Prejean quickly explained to the public that she was a model and young and naive when the photos were taken. She further claimed that the photographs were not authorized and that the photographer sold them to embarrass her and to promote himself. Maybe so and once again Prejean got the sympathy of the public.

Ms. Prejean retained a lawyer and sued the Miss USA Pageant from taking here Miss California title. She claimed that she had been unjustly terminated from the position.

She has written a book entitled “Still Standing”. This book is Ms. Prejean’s story of what she has had to endure as a result of all that has happened to her since the pageant. However, she was recently shown a copy of a sex videotape in court that she supposedly made for an ex-boyfriend. She was alone when the tape was made and you can draw your own conclusions as to what she may have been doing.

Ms. Prejean has been on several Fox News shows and Larry King’s show to promote her book and try to explain the tape. On Larry King’s show she took off her microphone when King asked her about the settlement in the legal case which she immediately dropped after the tape surfaced.

Ms. Prejean is a beautiful and educated young woman and she probably has a bright future ahead of her. Nonetheless, from the viewpoint of this writer, Ms. Prejean should take some time away from the public spotlight and regroup. The good character and the victim status do not shine through quite so brightly anymore. Ms. Prejean has apparently made some errors in judgment. She is young and not alone in that kind of thing. But Ms. Prejean is becoming an embarrassment to herself and not helping any conservative cause with all this day-to-day disclosure of bad press.

Take some time off Ms. Prejean.

When the whole Miss USA Pageant fight broke out, people were taking sides left and right on whether Carrie Prejean was in the wrong or not for what she said. Then shortly after stories came out about her not so nice side and some in the media said she was “being crucified for her beliefs.” If anything can display what her true level of reasoning and intellect is (aside from those mean accounts given from people who were around her) this is probably it. Throwing a hissy fit like a ten year old, Carrie loses it when asked a simple question while promoting her new book on Larry King.
