Last year this day, perhaps not at this hour, all I know is.. I’ve just placed my feet on the land of  San Fran. Airport. How cool. How nice. This weekend saw four penalties being missed in various games around the league. So how hard can it possibly be to stroke the ball home from 12 yards out?

Dindane, Fabregas, Lampard and Defoe all failed to score from the spot to probably set some kind of record in the Premier League. And two of those misses proved costly for their respective teams.

Players who have missed penalties have been vilified by supporters in quite the same way as an atheist outside a temple. The fans may forgive but they never forget.

Roberto Baggio went from being ‘The Divine Ponytail’ to ‘Donkey’s Tail’ overnight after missing the decisive penalty against Brazil at USA ‘94. He had to wait for four years to fully redeem himself.

John Terry also threw away Chelsea’s chance of European glory on that slippery surface in Moscow.  I don’t know why he even stepped up take that decisive penalty, he is English we all know they are shite.

Even ‘Sore Loser Wenger’ said that Fabregas’ miss at the weekend affected his mindset for the rest of the game. But my question is why did he miss he it in the first place?

How Can You Miss A Penalty?

Taking a penalty is by no means rocket science. It should be practically one of the easiest scores in the world of sports. It cannot get any more straight forward than beating just the keeper from 12 yards with a 24 foot by 8 foot goal to aim at.

I have been a keeper and I know that there is 10% anticipation and 90% guesswork when you dive to save a spot kick. I admit that I maybe a slouch and with world class keepers these percentages may differ.

But believe me at no point is there any more than 30-35% anticipation for a penalty. In fact the world’s best goalkeeper, Gianlugi Buffon, is often criticised for his inability to save penalties.

You are probably thinking what about the many things going through a player’s mind and the added pressure of the situation. But he is a footballer so he is not supposed to think…. His job is just to put the ball in the back of the net!

In fact some bored researchers at a university in Liverpool (no wonder Torres always scores) have actually come out with the perfect formula to score a penalty.

I recommend that the English team pay these guys a visit before they go to the World Cup. Otherwise we are going to have yet another exit in the quarterfinals to some European nation.

MUMBAI — Virender Sehwag missed a world record third triple-century by seven runs as Sri Lanka hit back on the third morning of the final Test against India here on Friday.

India, resuming at 443-1 in reply to Sri Lanka’s first innings total of 393, lost two important wickets in the first session to go to lunch on the third day at 536-3 at the Brabourne stadium.

Sachin Tendulkar was unbeaten on 48 and Venkatsai Laxman was on 22 with India leading by 143 runs with seven wickets in hand.

Sehwag moved from his overnight score of 284 to 293 when he tapped a flighted ball from Muttiah Muralitharan back to the bowler who took the catch on his second attempt.

A hush descended at the stadium where some 15,000 home fans had packed the stands anticipating a world record by the swashbuckling opener.

Sehwag returned to a warm applause for his 254-ball effort which was studded with 40 boundaries and seven sixes.

Off-spinner Muralitharan’s first success after 21 overs which cost 124 runs broke a second-wicket stand of 237 between Sehwag and Rahul Dravid that had lifted India to 458-2.

Sehwag’s two triple centuries, matching Australian legend Don Bradman and West Indian great Brian Lara, were 309 against Pakistan in Multan in 2004 and 319 versus South Africa in Chennai last year.

Dravid fell soon after for 74, edging a wild drive off seamer Chanka Welegedara to wicket-keeper Prasanna Jayawardene to make it 487-3.

Dravid, who survived a confident appeal for a catch at the wicket off Rangana Herath earlier in the morning, hit five boundaries and a six.

Sri Lanka claimed the second new ball after 104 overs but failed to dislodge Tendulkar or Laxman before lunch.

India lead the three-match series 1-0 after an innings and 144-run victory in the second Test in Kanpur last week.

The thought of watching that disney flim show arise suddenly in my mind.
Is a movie that didn’t attract me with its trailer, but i don’t know why, out of a sudden, i really feel like watching something that is expected to be heart warming with you, yes you, my dearest boyfriend.

The weather has been cold recently, especially in the night. I don’t denied that i want you to be back soon for the fact that i miss you alot, thou i am still pretty occupied with activities.
It seems like the longest outfield that you have been to from the fact that we have no proper communication channels. How i wish that i can just speak to you or to receive your text messages.

While reading that, i shared almost the same thought.

I had this really nice milk tea from AMK. Is really one of the nicest that i have drank so far. Is from KOI cafe and my cousin bought it for us to try. I have always hated pearls in my bubble tea but this time round, i didn’t avoid it. I will definitely buy it again if i pop by AMK again.
