How many of us look over the past year and say “I wish I could have done… ” or as the New Year approaches you are thinking, “This year I’m going too…”

I have been in the same situation numerous of times, recapping the years that have past and coming up with “New Year Resolutions” to achieve in the up coming year. I can honestly say that each year I have personally made a laundry list of goals I wanted to accomplish and have been able to fully complete only a few. There are people out there that are able to write out their list of 5, 10, 20…etc goals to achieve in the New Year and are able to complete them. But, like myself there are so many people that can not do it because life seems to throw us challenges.

Three years ago, I learned a way to setup realistic holistic goals that not only was I able to accomplish them, but I was also able to enjoy the journey. The system that I learned is detailed and takes sometime to get it down. I want to give you the overview and a few tips so you can start working on your Holistic New Years Resolutions.

1) Understand and live your Core Values.

2) Know your Legacy and live it daily.

3) Do not set more then 3 Goals at a time.

4) Draw out a mind map on how you are going to accomplish each goal.

5) Figure out how you are going to do 1 action per day to work towards each of your goals.

Here are some tips that are very helpful for setting goals. Think of goals like children; you have to care, feed, play with and love them. If you can only handle taking care of one child then do not set yourself up for caring for 3 children. I use this analogy because it is so true when it comes to goals. If you can not spend the time, feed, nurture, and love your goal(s) how are you going to be able to accomplish them? That is why when I teach people about goal setting I teach them how to properly manage their expectation and how to set realistic goals. This way they can accomplish their goals without getting overwhelmed and quitting.

Once you have this foundation down you can easily set S.M.A.R.T (Specific, Measureable, Action Oriented, Realistic, Timed) Goals and have a successful New Year!

I want to wish everyone a Happy New Year.

Love & Chi

Are You Learning the Right Health Information?

It’s Saturday and I’m out shopping for clothes with my girlfriend. I’m near the women’s change room, waiting for her to come out and show me what she has picked out, when I over hear a few women talking about how their clothes don’t fit. The very next sentence, they ask each other, “Where should we go for lunch?” What’s the first place that comes up? No surprise to me, it was McDonald’s and Wendy’s. One of them follows with a comment about how these restaurants’ salads are “so healthy for you.”

There are so many people like this, trying to fight with their weight, diets, working out, etc. with the wrong information about what is healthy. The wealth of media out there and the billions of dollars of advertising going into falsely educating the population on what they should eat to lose weight and be healthy is horrifying. Much of what we hear about processed and/or commercial food being so good for you is misinformation. People are not aware of all the chemicals, food colouring, additives and preservatives that are in those foods. On top of that, when you cook and/or microwave these chemicals they become something completely different. No wonder our society is getting sicker and sicker. More people are developing allergies, colds, flues and have weaker immune systems. On top of our stressful lifestyles of trying to keep up with the Jones’s, this is the perfect formula for disease.

We need to take control of our health by first consuming the right nutrients to look after our health. I’m sure your asking at this point, “How do I do this?” First start by eating certified organic whole foods 80% of the time (5 days out of the week, for example Monday to Friday eat each meal as healthy as possible) and 20% (say, Saturday and Sunday) throw caution to the wind and eat some fun foods. (Hamburgers, Pop, Chips, etc.) This will help your body get the nutrients it needs 80% of the time which in this day is really good. Second, drink good quality water (Evian, Fuji just to name a few brands I recommend to my clients). You want to make sure you drink ½ your body weight in ounces per day (150lbs person would drink approximately 3 litres of water). Third, exercise at least 20 minutes per day. This doesn’t mean go to the gym each day; 3 to 5 times a week is sufficient, depending on your fitness and experience levels. I highly recommend you consult with a personal trainer before starting any exercise program. Fourth, find out if you have any food sensitivities. This is important because if you’re sensitive to some of the foods that you’re consuming it could be causing inflammation in your stomach (among other things, but that is a another article in its own). Food sensitivities might be a reason why it’s so hard for you to achieve six pack abs.

Start with these 4 tips and you will see a difference on how you feel. Remember, if you take care of body it will take care of you.

What is Holistic Lifestyle Coaching? How many people know what a Holistic Lifestyle Coach is

What is Holistic Lifestyle Coaching?

How many people know what a Holistic Lifestyle Coach is or what exactly do they due? We are all familiar with Massage Therapist, Chiropractors, Physiotherapist, Naturopaths…etc How would you or someone you know benefit from a Holistic Lifestyle Coach?

First let me ask you this, do you know anyone that’s had relationship problems, work/career challenges, financial debt issues, exercise and/or nutrition goals, health issues, spiritual questions…etc? I’m sure we all know someone that has faced one of these problems if not several of them.

A Holistic Lifestyle Coach looks at the whole person, their Personal, Professional and Spiritual life. They take in to consideration all aspects of the person’s experience because “For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction” –Newton’s Law. That holds true in the experiences we have in life, from how our personal life affects us, to our professional and our spiritual beliefs. Every choice we make has an out come, it is our decision that create the lives we live day to day. Our health, wealth and relationship are all controlled by our decision day to day, minute by minute.

Now I’m sure you are asking how does a Holistic Lifestyle Coach help? A certified Holistic Lifestyle Coach knows how to ask the right questions to help you achieve your dreams. Just like any coach they are able to mentor you through those challenges no matter what they may be. If you need someone to pick you up when you’re down, be in your corner to cheer you on, or kick you in the butt to get you going. They are there to make sure you stay on track, remember the shortest path between two points is a straight line. Don’t get me wrong life comes up and tries to knock you off the path and that’s where the Holistic Lifestyle Coach comes in. To help you get through that bumps in the road and get you back on track.

How to make it through Christmas Holistically

Christmas is only 6 weeks away, parties are coming up and Christmas shopping is going to get more hectic as the big day approaches. With the Christmas season comes drinking, eating fun foods (Deserts, lots of food, drinking…etc), spending time with family and friends. This season causes people to develop short tempers, impatience, frustration…etc. I am sure we have all seen or know someone that gets affected in one of these ways around this time of the year.

Here are some tips to help enjoy this Christmas and not become a scrooge this season

1) We all have great parties to go to with a smorgasbord of food and deserts. Make sure you eat properly over Christmas. Balance out your meals with good quality carbohydrates, proteins and fats (Certified Organic is highly recommended). Have a good meal before deserts being more generous with the proteins before you start drinking and/or eating a lot of deserts. This will help balance out your insulin levels (Sugar levels) which will help stabilize your hormones, energy and moods. My rule of thumb is try to eat as best as possible 80% of the time and throw caution to the wind 20% of the time. Which means 80% of the time eat certified organic whole foods in balance with your bodies unique needs (Metabolic Typing) and 20% of the time go out party, drink, eat the fun foods you enjoy. For Example Monday to Friday is the 80% Saturday and Sunday 20%.

2) Try to exercise 20min to 30min per day even if this means going for a walk in the snow. We all need to keep the metabolism going as well de-stress from some not so jolly Christmas partiers.

3) Rest as much as you can, we need to recharge our batteries when we have a chance. I recommended that you go to bed around 10:30pm when possible and if you’ve had a great night of partying. Take it slow the next day. As we get worn down we have less tolerance to deal with people and our immune system gets weakens which can lead to colds and flues this time of the year.

4) Try to complete your Christmas shopping at least 2 weeks ahead of Christmas before you get into the Christmas rush. Where lots of people rushing around, frustrated trying to finish their shopping last minute…etc. These people have less patience and shorter tempers closer to Christmas. No point going into a lion’s den if you don’t need to

5) We all have different types of friends and families that we love in their own special way. Make sure you plan out your Christmas visiting that you enjoy it. If you can only spend 30min with someone over Christmas do yourself a favor and only schedule 30min. This way you leave happy and can enjoy your Christmas visiting.

6) When you eat all the good food around and sweets to follow this can rob the body of water. The Solution to pollution is dilution. To prevent this dehydration drink lots of good quality water (Evan, Fuji) ½ your body weight in ounces per day to keep hydrated through the seasons. For example 150lbs person is equal to approximately 3 liters of water.

7) Last but not least have FUN with family, friends and have a Happy Holiday!!!

Season Greetings,

Who do you know that’s struggling with weight loss?

So many of us are trying to find a quick fix to weight loss, be it a diet a friend told us about, weight loss program we read or saw on T.V, going to the gym 4 to 5 times per week trying to work as hard as you can to lose the weight. Trying all this with little to no results and feeling terrible through the process. It’s time to learn how to lose weight easily and be able to keep it off.

Hi my name is Brandon Krieger I’m a Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2 through the C.H.E.K Institute and a Certified Advance Metabolic Typing Advisor through Health Excel. I’ve had the challenge of trying to lose weight for several years, weighing as high as 235lbs at one point. I have tried weight loss programs, point systems, restricting calories, low fat diets, no carb diets. With little to know results. After my Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2 course I was able to learn how to properly setup a program that works. I have been using it for myself for over 3 months and have lost 25lbs so far. Plus I’ve developed a system on how to use it with my clients and they’re getting great results as well.

I know there are people out there like me that have been struggling with weight loss and need a solution that works for them. If you were going to go to another C.H.E.K Practitioner it could cost you $135 and up per hour session or if you went to a Naturopathic Doctor it could cost $85 and up per session.

What I am going to offer to the next 25 people who are frustrated with their weight and want a solution that has worked for 1000’s of practitioners

Is:

Customized diet plan

Shopping list

Sample Meal Plans

Lifestyle Coaching to help them overcome emotional eating

Nutrition Coaching

Cooking Recommendations

Exercise Program Design

E-mail support

And much much more

This program would normally cost $135 per session or more, I normally charge $95 per 60 minute session. For the next 25 people I am going to offer this package for only

$65 per session.

This is a deal you don’t want to miss out on E-mail me at info@knssconsulting.com or call me 416-239-9351 NOW because I don’t know how quickly this package deal will sell out. I want you to be one of the 25 people to take advantage of this opportunity. So e-mail me or call me NOW!!!!

If you were to do an Online Course what would you like to learn?

It’s been a while since I posted, did some marketing or even did a video. I’ve been completing a few lose ends that I took on that I got to busy to finish. I completed the P.P.S Success Mastery Program from Paul Chek http://www.ppssuccess.com. I’m just finishing up my review for Holistic Lifestyle Coach Level 2 which I’m using the O.P.I.R (Overview, Preview, In-view, Review) method of studying. Which has really helped me learn the information and be able to teach it to my clients.

Over the the past few weeks I’ve had an idea of doing an online course that people can do from home. I understand because of the economy people are stressed, looking for work, creditors calling them, not eating or exercising properly which is affecting their health. You might know someone like this, I know I have talk to several people having these challenges.

I’m looking at setting up a course to help people learn how to overcome their challenges Personally, Professionally and Spiritually. Some of the topics we’ll cover are

Nutrition

Exercise

Understanding your I, We and All Value

Developing your Legacy

Assessing Your Financial situation

How to develop Goals

How to put all this together

These are the topics I’m looking at having in the course and I am open to your suggestions. As well feed back if you know anyone that might be interested in learning more about these topics or needs help in one of these areas.

I would love to hear back from you Send me a message on Twitter (Twitter.com/Brandon_Krieger) or e-mail me at info@knssconsulting.com

I’m looking at setting up this course starting next week, I know it is fast but I know people are looking for help with their challenges.

Thank you everyone,

This was a great learning experience for me and I learned a lot about training myself and how it relates to other people. First I wasn’t in as good of shape as I thought. I actually gained muscle in for the first few weeks which kept me either balanced with my weight or I gained weight because muscle weigh’s more then fat does. I also learned that sensitivities play a big part in how you digest your food. When I finally received my sensitivity test and eliminated the foods that were bad for me the weight started to come off.

I started on July 27th with these stats

weight = 222lbs
chest = 45 inches
waist = 43 inches
hips = 42 inches
My Goal is to be down to 200lbs as of August 28th, 2009

On September 10th and still going here are my current stats

weight = 215lbs (loss of 7 lbs)
chest = 41 & 1/2 inches ( loss of 3 & 1/2 inches)
waist = 38 inches (loss of 5 inches)
hips = 40 inches (loss of 2 inches)

In 7 Weeks I lost 7lbs and 10 & 1/2 inches in total. My goal still is to get down to 205lbs for my birthday and by the end of this year to be at 185lbs. Since completing HLC 2 I have learned a lot of new skills that I’m going to use on myself first and test them out before I start implementing with my clients. Rotational diets, different types of exercises..etc I will keep posting updates about my weight and my progress here and there to let you know how things are going.

Good morning everyone,

I have a good week nutritionally and health wise but a bad week personally. On Tuesday there was a lightening storm was pretty bad. So bad that the a lightening bolt hit just across the stress and took out the transformer which left me without power until Thursday morning. I had to do some catch up with my clients because I had to e-mail out forms, questionnaires and information I promised them. That is why I haven’t had a chance until now to post on the blogs until today.

Nutritionally I had a great week my eating is been on track after the fun UFC night and I have lost 4lbs this week. I’m still doing food journals but I wouldn’t be posting them anymore unless you guys want me to. I haven’t received much feed back if they are helping or not so for the mean time I’m going to just do them for myself.

Now the work-outs on my day 1 post I recommended a book “How to Eat Move and Be Healthy” by Paul Chek. I have been doing the Energizer program on Page 175 to 177 and it is such a simple program but I have been losing weight from doing it. I went with this program due to I’ve been trying to build my business, raise money for HLC2 which I wasn’t able to in time I was a little frustrated because of that but that’s how life goes. My back not a strong as it needs to be which I need to develop the strength and keep the alignment so I don’t have an episode. As well just like the name of the program is called Energizer that is also what I need to build through this process.

Let me know what you think I really would appreciate any and all comments.

Good morning everyone,

Today is day 16 of my 33 day weight loss program. People have been asked what’s my weight now and I thought about weighing myself but I’m going to wait until the end so I don’t put more pressure on myself. I feel my cloths are getting loser and my stomach is going down so for me those are great signs. Like I said yesterday my eating was off over the weekend which I know affected my weight but I’m sure this week will be great because I’ve increased my workout and intensity starting yesterday I did 2 work out sessions which I’m feeling it today. I’m a little tight all over after the workout so I’m going to do a cardio day today and stretching. I want to be careful that I don’t build muscle through this process and go up in scale weight. I know when I do workout I build muscle very quickly which is good to speed up my metabolism but bad when I’m trying to go down in weight so quickly. So I’m going to play with my workouts to make sure I have enough resistance training to increase my metabolism but not enough to bulk up.

I was at work at 24hr Vision all day and put in 2 workouts.

Morning workout

12 min of cardio with intervals of 2 min jog and 1 min walk for the full 12 mins
Stretching
1 set 10 reps 4 point tummy vacuums
1 set 10 reps McKenzie press ups

Afternoon workout
circuit training

First circuit was

25 static lunges
25 crunches off an exercise ball
25 Russian twists
25 Push ups
plank for 25 seconds (which was our rest)

Second circuit
12 static lunges
12 crunches off an exercise ball
12 Russian twists
12 Push ups
plank for 12 seconds (my seconds lol was doing this routine with a client so I might of lost count a few times)

so I’m a little stiff right now which is good and I’m going to the gym at 10am today to do some light cardio, stretching and a few exercises.

Here is my food journal from yesterday Monday August 10th 2009.

I really appreciate any feed back due to I want to make sure this is benefiting you. As well if you would like me to add any other information please feel free to ask.

Good afternoon everyone,

Sunday was a little bit of a right off for me. I watched the UFC Saturday night and bought some snacks for my guests. Needless to say they didn’t eat them all and I was left with some goodies that I finished off on Sunday. Mostly just the pop now I want to add the pops were all organic but still not good for my protein type metabolism. It through me off all day to the point I took a nap at 4pm and didn’t wake up until around 10pm. I didn’t accomplish much yesterday but got back on track today, like I say 80% of the time eat as best as you can and 20% throw caution to the wind. Well this weekend was my caution to the wind. But I want to reach my goal by August 28th so I’m going to try to do 90% to 100% from today on. Plus add some cardio and increase my intensity of my workouts. look for tomorrows post which will show how I increased my workout.

Here’s Sundays Food journal below

Good morning everyone

Today is day 14 of my 33 Day challenge 19 more days to go. I want to keep some things in mind this is not your typical weight loss program I’m not doing any caloric restrictions or going to restrict myself to the point I can’t have anything. My rule is 80% eat as best as you can and 20% of the time throw caution to the wind. If you want to drink alcohol, eat pizza, wings…etc go a head. Just make sure you get back on track. For example you will see on Day 13 I had a 20% day at night I went to Kombat Arts BBQ and Spare Ribs, Chicken and a Samosa. Then I had chips, Popcorn, Ginger ale, Root Beer watching the UFC 101 on Saturday.

***Just a side note you wouldn’t see alcohol on my lists at anytime, this is not because I don’t like it, it’s because my body doesn’t. I have a sensitivity to alcohol that makes me break out in red patches all over my body the more alcohol I drink. Like I said I will be getting a sensitivity test hopefully before the 19 days are over just trying to raise enough funds together. I’m telling you this so if you link to drink and are trying to lose weight don’t feel bad just do the 80/20 rule. Cut it out through the week and on weekends when you go out drink and eat lots of protein while you drink. This will help slow down how fast you metabolize the sugar and how fast you get intoxicated.***

So this weekend was pretty good I’m feeling a lot better since I was sick last weekend. I did get in 1 workout on Friday since I felt better.

I have a heavy duty bands from Twist Conditioning that I use to do some of my workouts at home. For more information about where to get them you can contact me at info@knssconsulting.com

here is my work out.

Stretching
1 set 10 reps McKenzie Press ups
1 set 10 reps 4 point tummy vacuums

This below was done in a circuit routine
12 reps bench press off an exercise ball using the bands ( Note Don’t do this unless you know what your doing almost gave myself a concussion)
12 reps bicep curls using the band
12 reps tricep pull downs
10 reps Reverse Hyperextensions off an exercise ball.

I did this circuit 3 times no rest between each exercise. 30 second rest after all 4 exercises were completed for a total of 3 rounds.

*** VERY IMPORTANT!!!! DO NOT try these exercises alone unless you have at least 1 year of consistent training or you are qualified as a personal training. The reason why I say this is because I make mistakes of not securing the band properly and band coming back on me and hitting me in the back of the head. I had my Girlfriend with me who is a Certified Athletic Therapist while I was training and she showed me a different way of securing the band. We all can make mistakes like I did, I just want to make sure you train safe with no injuries.

Here are my food Journals for Thursday, Friday and Saturday.

Thursday

If you click on the food journals it will open up so you can see them better. I know a few people have been asking me and I have updated previous ones to do the same. I will be posting 14 food journals in total to show you examples of my food journals. I don’t ask for more then 14 days from my clients this way I can see what their eating and help them fine tune their eating habits, ratio of protein to carbohydrates to fats and make sure they stay on track.

If you would like to ask me any questions you can contact me on twitter at twitter.com/Brandon_Krieger

Good morning everyone,

I know I promised I would post every day my food journal and my workout routine. I am back on track after having a cold that has been going around Toronto for the last 4 days. I’m just fighting off the last bit of it but can’t start getting back into my routine without having to cough or blow my nose. Which I’m sure you guys can understand how hard that is to work out.

While I was sick I made a big pot of Brandon’s Chicken Soap Remedy

4 cups of filtered water
8 Organic Chicken Thigh’s (dark meat for me ) baked
hand full of green beans
hand full of chopped up celery
2 hand fulls of mushrooms
table spoon of celtic sea salt (Put a little in at a time, stir and taste while putting it in to make sure it’s not to salty for you)
1 box of Organic Chicken Broth
put in the fat and grease from the pan I cooked the chicken in.

cook well and enjoy

Which I have been eating for the last 4 days because if I eat anything else it made me feel weak.

That is why I didn’t do any food journals because I felt the same “SICK & very Tired” up until today. Now I’m back in the gym doing my work outs. Plus today will be my first food journal in 4 days.

Good morning everyone,

Today is Day 6 of my 33 Day Weight loss challenge. Sorry I didn’t post Day 4 and 5 on Thursday and Friday. Thursday was a real busy day at the clinic with clients and didn’t get home until 9pm which to be honest I started to do some marketing work. One thing led to another and I looked at the time and it was 8:30am in the morning, that’s right I stayed up all night updating my website (http://www.knssconsulting.com), facebook, twitter and my youtube channel. I just got into a zone and was able to get a lot done, I’ve been really working hard lately trying to build my business and wanted to get a lot done. My client load has been picking up and I want to keep the momentum going.

I stayed up all Thursday night and all day Friday and I’m sure you can guess what happened. Now I’m sick I have a sore throat and headache. My normal remedy personally because I don’t like to gargle, I have a sensitive gag reflex so I eat salt & vinegar chips, drink 2 litre’s of orange juice and I have made for today a big pot of home made chicken soap.

My Chicken soap sick Recipe Remedy

4 cups of filtered water
8 Organic Chicken Thigh’s (dark meat for me ) baked
hand full of chopped up celery
2 hand fulls of mushrooms
table spoon of celtic sea salt (Put a little in at a time, stir and taste while putting it in to make sure it’s not to salty for you)
put in the fat and grease from the pan I cooked the chicken in.

cook well and enjoy

Today I’m going to have a relaxing day, do my stretches, zone exercises. Then sit around and watch movies all day to let my body heal. I will be doing my first video hopefully Sunday August 2nd but depends how I feel.

Here is my Thursday July 30, 2009 and Friday July 31, 2009 Food journals

I was at the gym yesterday at 9am to 12:00pm which then I came home to watch a video training course about business/marketing from Eben Pagan called Get Altitude. It’s been an amazing course and I’m only 1/2 way though and I have learned so much.

Just found out I have to change my business name which was is stressful because I’ve had it for so long and have become attached to it. Which I know is not good in business. Plus to change it’s going to be a lot of work and hard to come up with a perfect name that people will be attracted to. I know it is better to change it now while I’m just building my business instead of trying to change it later when my business has matured.

Crazy how things work out, life is a constant learning and will never stop. Good thing I love to keep challenging myself hence the 22lbs in 33 days.

on that note here is my food Journal for Day 3 Wednesday July 29th 2009

Here is my exercise routine for Yesterday

Good morning everyone,

I’m just starting day 3 of my weight loss challenge and wanted to give you guys my day 2 journal, exercise program and how yesterday went.

Yesterday was a great morning I was able to get a lot done due to how I have setup my work schedule.

Monday/Wednesdays at Vision Fitness in Mississauga Ontario at 8am to 11am then I break for lunch from 11am to 4pm and work from 4pm to 8pm at night.

Tuesday/Thursday 10am to 11am Home office working with my international clients.
Then at Ultimate Sports Therapy from 1pm to 6pm

Friday’s at Vision Fitness from 8am to 11am the rest of the day off
off Saturday and Sunday unless by special appointment

I have setup my schedule this way so I have lots of time to study, workout and have time to relax.

Yesterday I had to go by Vision fitness to pick up a clients blood draw for their sensitivity test they were doing for me. I’m still trying to setup connections with labs in the area to be able to draw due to the M.R.T. sensitivity (Mediator Release Test CLICK HERE for more information) test is requisitioned from an American doctor and I’m in Toronto Ontario which the labs have a challenge getting authorization to draw the blood. One lab that I’m starting to build a relationship with is Gamma -Dynacare labs http://www.gamma-dynacare.com they have been so helpful. But most of my morning was spent trying to get my clients blood drawn and then shipped to the lab in Florida. Which I was able to do and have now setup a system on how to do it for next time.

The reason why I tell you this is because you will see on my food journal there was about a 5 hour gap between breakfast and lunch. Which as soon as I had a chance I ran home made some sandwiches quick and had to run to get treated at Ultimate Sports Therapy as well see a client.

While at Vision Fitness I was able to get a work out in which was

-Stretching routine page 88 to 97 from Paul Chek’s Book “How to Eat Move and Be Healthy“

3 sets of 10 reps of Mackenzie press-ups
3 sets of 10 reps 10 second hold per each rep of 4 point tummy vacuums
2 sets of 10 reps of static lunges

Here is my food Journal for Day 2 Tuesday July 28th 2009

I would like thank everyone for their comments and through this challenge if there is any questions that you have about why I’m doing anything I’m doing through this challenge please let me know. I would be happy to answer and all questions.

I will also be doing a video tomorrow on Youtube so if you have any topics you would like me to cover let me know.

Have a great day everyone and speak to you tomorrow

Day 1 of Brandon’s Weight Loss Challenge Good morning everyone I have gone through day one of

Day 1 of Brandon’s Weight Loss Challenge

Good morning everyone I have gone through day one of my 33 day weight loss challenge. I really understand the challenge most of us have in trying to stay healthy while living a busy lifestyle. Planning out meals, trying to prepare food, while trying to get ready for work all within a couple of hours and trying to find time to get some exercise in. If this sound familiar I’ve been there working as a IT contractor working 12 hour shifts per day 7:00am to 7:00pm being exhausted when I got home not wanting to do anything except watch T.V. and vegetate. Now running my own business has taken its toll because I haven’t been practicing what I preach because I have been studying like a mad man trying to get a head and have gained at my highest point 55lbs weighing in at 240lbs from 185lbs. Now done to 222lbs as of yesterday from just balancing out what I have been eating but that still isn’t good enough.

That is why I have given myself 2 goals first 1 is to get down to 200lbs by August 28th 2009 the 2nd one is to get back down to my original weight of 185lbs by October 6th 2009 (My Birthday). That is my gift to me, to be healthy for my birthday through eating right for my Metabolic Type, Exercising properly and making sure I keep my lifestyle in harmony.

As promised for the next 33 days I will be posting my food journals as well as my exercise program. I want to make a note here that all food on my food journals through this process is going to be Certified Organic from 1 of 2 stores in Oakville Ontario either Organic Garage or Whole Foods unless otherwise specified.

I’m going to try to follow the 90/10 rule that I have for myself. This is 90% of the time I will be eating certified organic food that I prepare for myself in the correct ratio for my Metabolic Type (Parasympathetic Dominate for any of you MT advisors out there) and 10% I will eat out. I personally do the 10% rule because if I go out and I’m hungry I’m not going to starve myself until I get home or stress about what I have to eat which will through my metabolism off. I will of course eat in the right ratio’s when I eat out, it just wouldn’t be certified organic food.

I’ll be doing a sensitivity test very soon as I get more income coming in to show you my chart and how I will incorporate it to my program. This is very important for example I have found recently through trial and error that I have a sensitivity to rice and it irritates my colon. This is important because there are connective tissues from the colon to the spine which if you guys don’t know I have had problems with. I have learned and personally found that if I eat something that irritates my colon it affects my back within 1hr or 2. This might sound strange to some of you reading this and trying to understand this concept for the first time which it did to me when I first heard it from an Athletic Therapist ( Carolyn Zepf Ultimate Sports Therapy) 3 years ago I didn’t want to believe my food was affected my lower back. Sure enough I cleaned up my diet and my back started to feel better. So I have been working on eliminating any food that I could have a sensitivity to Dairy, Onions, Rice, Corn just to name a few. So as soon as I have enough money I will be getting an MRT test and posting my results.

I will be ranting about what I’m doing and things I’ve found for myself through the process to give you a better idea how my system works and some challenges on the way.

Here is what I have completed so far

Good morning everyone,

There is so much news around The Swine Flu Pandemic I wanted to give you guys some information from Dr. Mercola’s website that should help to answer any questions. http://articles.mercola.com/sites/articles/archive/2009/04/28/Swine-Flu.aspx

Critical Alert: The Swine Flu Pandemic – Fact or Fiction?

American health officials declared a public health emergency as cases of swine flu were confirmed in the U.S. Health officials across the world fear this could be the leading edge of a global pandemic emerging from Mexico, where seven people are confirmed dead as a result of the new virus.

On Wednesday April 29th, the World Health Organization (WHO) raised its pandemic alert level to five on its six-level threat scale,1 which means they”ve determined that the virus is capable of human-to-human transmission. The initial outbreaks across North America reveal an infection already traveling at higher velocity than did the last official pandemic strain, the 1968 Hong Kong flu.

Phase 5 had never been declared since the warning system was introduced in 2005 in response to the avian influenza crisis. Phase 6 means a pandemic is under way. WHO now openly states it is not possible to contain the spread of this infection and recommends mitigation measures, not restricting travel or closing borders.

The number of fatalities, and suspected and confirmed cases across the world change depending on the source, so your best bet — if you want the latest numbers — is to use Google Maps” Swine Flu Tracker.

Several nations have imposed travel bans, or made plans to quarantine air travelers2 that present symptoms of the swine flu, such as:

Fever of more than 100

Coughing

Runny nose and/or sore throat

Joint aches

Severe headache

Vomiting and/or diarrhea

Lethargy

Lack of appetite

Top global flu experts are trying to predict how dangerous the new swine flu strain will be, as it became clear that they had little information about Mexico”s outbreak. It is as yet unclear how many cases occurred in the month or so before the outbreak was detected. It”s also unknown whether the virus was mutating to be more lethal, or less.

Much Fear Mongering Being Promoted

I suspect you have likely been alarmed by the media”s coverage of the swine flu scare. It has a noticeable subplot – preparing you for draconian measures to combat a future pandemic as well as forcing you to accept the idea of mandatory vaccinations.

On April 27, Time magazine published an article which discusses how dozens died and hundreds were injured from vaccines as a result of the 1976 swine flu fiasco, when the Ford administration attempted to use the infection of soldiers at Fort Dix as a pretext for a mass vaccination of the entire country.

Despite acknowledging that the 1976 farce was an example of “how not to handle a flu outbreak”, the article still introduces the notion that officials “may soon have to consider whether to institute draconian measures to combat the disease”.

Fortunately some respectable journalists recognize this and are seeking to spread a voice of reason to the fear that is being promoted in the majority of the media

WHO and CDC Pandemic Preparedness Seriously Broken

The pandemic warning system has failed as it simply doesn”t exist, even in North America and Europe. To improve the system, massive new investments in surveillance, scientific and regulatory infrastructure, basic public health, and global access to common sense interventions like vitamin D optimization are required.

According to the Washington Post, the CDC did not learn about the outbreak until six days after Mexico had begun to impose emergency measures. There should be no excuses. The paradox of this swine flu panic is that, while totally unexpected, it was accurately predicted. Six years ago, Science dedicated a major story to evidence that “after years of stability, the North American swine flu virus has jumped onto an evolutionary fasttrack”.

However, maybe this is precisely what public health authorities desire.

This is NOT the First Swine Flu Panic

My guess is that you can expect to see a lot of panic over this issue in the near future. But the key is to remain calm — this isn”t the first time the public has been warned about swine flu. The last time was in 1976, right before I entered medical school and I remember it very clearly. It resulted in the massive swine flu vaccine campaign.

Do you happen to recall the result of this massive campaign?

Within a few months, claims totaling $1.3 billion had been filed by victims who had suffered paralysis from the vaccine. The vaccine was also blamed for 25 deaths.

However, several hundred people developed crippling Guillain-Barré Syndrome after they were injected with the swine flu vaccine. Even healthy 20-year-olds ended up as paraplegics.

And the swine flu pandemic itself? It never materialized.

More People Died From the Swine Flu Vaccine than Swine Flu!

It is very difficult to forecast a pandemic, and a rash response can be extremely damaging.

As of Monday April 27, the worldwide total number of confirmed cases was 82, according to WHO, which included 40 cases in the U.S., confirmed by the Centers for Disease Control. But does that truly warrant the feverish news headlines?

To put things into perspective, malaria kills 3,000 people EVERY DAY, and it”s considered “a health problem”… But of course, there are no fancy vaccines for malaria that can rake in billions of dollars in a short amount of time.

One Australian news source,3 for example, states that even a mild swine flu epidemic could lead to the deaths of 1.4 million people and would reduce economic growth by nearly $5 trillion dollars.

Give me a break, if this doesn”t sound like the outlandish cries of the pandemic bird-flu I don”t know what does. Do you remember when President Bush said two million Americans would die as a result of the bird flu?

In 2005, in 2006, 2007, and again in 2008, those fears were exposed as little more than a cruel hoax, designed to instill fear, and line the pocketbooks of various individuals and industry. I became so convinced by the evidence AGAINST the possibility of a bird flu pandemic that I wrote a New York Times bestselling book, The Bird Flu Hoax, all about the massive fraud involved with the epidemic that never happened..

What is the Swine Flu?

Regular swine flu is a contagious respiratory disease, caused by a type-A influenza virus that affects pigs. The current strain, A(H1N1), is a new variation of an H1N1 virus — which causes seasonal flu outbreaks in humans — that also contains genetic material of bird and pig versions of the flu.

Interestingly enough, this version has never before been seen in neither human nor animal, which I will discuss a bit later.

This does sound bad. But not so fast. There are a few reasons to not rush to conclusions that this is the deadly pandemic we”ve been told would occur in the near future (as if anyone could predict it without having some sort of inside knowledge).

Why a True Bird- or Swine Flu Pandemic is HIGHLY Unlikely

While in my opinion it is highly likely factory farming is responsible for producing this viral strain, I believe there is still no cause for concern.

You may not know this, but all H1N1 flu”s are descendants of the 1918 pandemic strain. The reason why the flu shot may or may not work, however, from year to year, is due to mutations. Therefore, there”s no vaccine available for this current hybrid flu strain, and naturally, this is feeding the fear that millions of people will die before a vaccine can be made.

However, let me remind you of one very important fact here.

Just a couple of months ago, scientists concluded that the 1918 flu pandemic that killed between 50-100 million people worldwide in a matter of 18 months — which all these worst case scenarios are built upon — was NOT due to the flu itself!4

Instead, they discovered the real culprit was strep infections.

People with influenza often get what is known as a “superinfection” with a bacterial agent. In 1918 it appears to have been Streptococcus pneumoniae.

Since strep is much easier to treat than the flu using modern medicine, a new pandemic would likely be much less dire than it was in the early 20th century, the researchers concluded.

Others, such as evolutionary biologist Paul Ewald,5 claim that a pandemic of this sort simply cannot happen, because in order for it to occur, the world has to change. Not the virus itself, but the world.

In a previous interview for Esquire magazine, in which he discusses the possibility of a bird flu pandemic, he states:

“They think that if a virus mutates, it”s an evolutionary event. Well, the virus is mutating because that is what viruses and other pathogens do. But evolution is not just random mutation. It is random mutation coupled with natural selection; it is a battle for competitive advantage among different strains generated by random mutation.

For bird flu to evolve into a human pandemic, the strain that finds a home in humanity has to be a strain that is both highly virulent and highly transmissible. Deadliness has to translate somehow into popularity; H5N1 has to find a way to kill or immobilize its human hosts, and still find other hosts to infect. Usually that doesn”t happen.”

Ewald goes on to explain that evolution in general is all about trade-offs, and in the evolution of infections the trade-off is between virulence and transmissibility.

What this means is that in order for a “bird flu” or “swine flu” to turn into a human pandemic, it has to find an environment that favors both deadly virulence and ease of transmission.

People living in squalor on the Western Front at the end of World War I generated such an environment, from which the epidemic of 1918 could arise.

Likewise, crowded chicken farms, slaughterhouses, and jam-packed markets of eastern Asia provide another such environment, and that environment gave rise to the bird flu — a pathogen that both kills and spreads, in birds, but not in humans.

Says Ewald:

“We know that H5N1 is well adapted to birds. We also know that it has a hard time becoming a virus that can move from person to person. It has a hard time without our doing anything. But we can make it harder. We can make sure it has no human population in which to evolve transmissibility. There is no need to rely on the mass extermination of chickens. There is no need to stockpile vaccines for everyone.

By vaccinating just the people most at risk — the people who work with chickens and the caregivers — we can prevent it from becoming transmissible among humans. Then it doesn”t matter what it does in chickens.”

Please remember that, despite the fantastic headlines and projections of MILLIONS of deaths, the H5N1 bird flu virus killed a mere 257 people worldwide since late 2003. As unfortunate as those deaths are, 257 deaths worldwide from any disease, over the course of five years, simply does not constitute an emergency worthy of much attention, let alone fear!

Honestly, your risk of being killed by a lightning strike in the last five years was about 2,300 percent higher than your risk of contracting and dying from the bird flu.6 I”m not kidding! In just one year (2004), more than 1,170 people died from lighting strikes, worldwide.7

So please, as the numbers of confirmed swine flu cases are released, keep a level head and don”t let fear run away with your brains.

So is the Swine Flu Getting More or Less Dangerous?

On Sunday, April 26, The Independent reported that more than 1,000 people had contracted the swine flu virus in Mexico, 8 but by the afternoon that same day, Mexican President Calderon declared that more than two-thirds of the 1,300 thought to have contracted the disease had been given a clean bill of health and sent home.9

Additionally, the number of actual confirmed cases appears to be far lower than reported in many media outlets, leading me to believe that many reporters are interchanging the terms “suspected cases” and “confirmed cases.”

Interestingly Mexico is the ONLY country in the world where someone has actually died from this disease.Mexico has reported 159 fatalities in flu-like cases in recent days, seven of which have been confirmed as swine flu. Another 19 patients have been confirmed as having swine flu but surviving. Although some insiders at WHO believe these numbers are seriously inflated and could be as low as single digits.

By contrast, the United States has had 91 confirmed cases, five hospitalizations and no deaths from US Citizens. On April 29th CNN reported the first swine fatality in the US, however this was actually a child from Mexico that died in Texas.

According to the World Health Organization”s Epidemic and Pandemic Alert and Response site; as of April 27, there are:

91 laboratory confirmed cases in U.S. — 0 deaths (reported by CDC as of April 30)

26 confirmed cases in Mexico — 7 deaths

6 confirmed cases in Canada — 0 deaths

1 confirmed case in Spain — 0 deaths

Additionally, nearly all suspected new cases have been reported as mild.

Personally, I am highly skeptical. It simply doesn”t add up to a real pandemic.

But it does raise serious questions about where this brand new, never before seen virus came from, especially since it cannot be contracted from eating pork products, and has never before been seen in pigs, and contains traits from the bird flu — and which, so far, only seems to respond to Tamiflu. Are we just that lucky, or… what?

Your Fear Will Make Some People VERY Rich in Today”s Crumbling Economy

According to the Associated Press at least one financial analyst estimates up to $388 million worth of Tamiflu sales in the near future10 — and that”s without a pandemic outbreak.

More than half a dozen pharmaceutical companies, including Gilead Sciences Inc., Roche, GlaxoSmithKline and other companies with a stake in flu treatments and detection, have seen a rise in their shares in a matter of days, and will likely see revenue boosts if the swine flu outbreak continues to spread.

As soon as Homeland Security declared a health emergency, 25 percent — about 12 million doses — of Tamiflu and Relenza treatment courses were released from the nation”s stockpile. However, beware that the declaration also allows unapproved tests and drugs to be administered to children. Many health- and government officials are more than willing to take that chance with your life, and the life of your child. But are you?

Remember, Tamiflu went through some rough times not too long ago, as the dangers of this drug came to light when, in 2007, the FDA finally began investigating some 1,800 adverse event reports related to the drug. Common side effects of Tamiflu include:

Nausea

Vomiting

Diarrhea

Headache

Dizziness

Fatigue

Cough

All in all, the very symptoms you”re trying to avoid.

More serious symptoms included convulsions, delirium or delusions, and 14 deaths in children and teens as a result of neuropsychiatric problems and brain infections (which led Japan to ban Tamiflu for children in 2007). And that”s for a drug that, when used as directed, only reduces the duration of influenza symptoms by 1 to 1 ½ days, according to the official data.

But making matters worse, some patients with influenza are at HIGHER risk for secondary bacterial infections when on Tamiflu. And secondary bacterial infections, as I mentioned earlier, was likely the REAL cause of the mass fatalities during the 1918 pandemic!

Where did This Mysterious New Animal-Human Flu Strain Come From?

Alongside the fear-mongering headlines, I”ve also seen increasing numbers of reports questioning the true nature of this virus. And rightfully so.

Could a mixed animal-human mutant like this occur naturally? And if not, who made it, and how was it released?

Not one to dabble too deep in conspiracy theories, I don”t have to strain very hard to find actual facts to support the notion that this may not be a natural mutation, and that those who stand to gain have the wherewithal to pull off such a stunt.

Just last month I reported on the story that the American pharmaceutical company Baxter was under investigation for distributing the deadly avian flu virus to 18 different countries as part of a seasonal flu vaccine shipment. Czech reporters were probing to see if it may have been part of a deliberate attempt to start a pandemic; as such a “mistake” would be virtually impossible under the security protocols of that virus.

The H5N1 virus on its own is not very airborne. However, when combined with seasonal flu viruses, which are more easily spread, the effect could be a potent, airborne, deadly, biological weapon. If this batch of live bird flu and seasonal flu viruses had reached the public, it could have resulted in dire consequences.

There is a name for this mixing of viruses; it”s called “reassortment,” and it is one of two ways pandemic viruses are created in the lab. Some scientists say the most recent global outbreak — the 1977 Russian flu — was started by a virus created and leaked from a laboratory.

Another example of the less sterling integrity of Big Pharma is the case of Bayer, who sold millions of dollars worth of an injectable blood-clotting medicine to Asian, Latin American, and some European countries in the mid-1980s, even though they knew it was tainted with the AIDS virus.

So while it is morally unthinkable that a drug company would knowingly contaminate flu vaccines with a deadly flu virus such as the bird- or swine flu, it is certainly not impossible. It has already happened more than once.

But there seems to be no repercussions or hard feelings when industry oversteps the boundaries of morality and integrity and enters the arena of obscenity. Because, lo and behold, which company has been chosen to head up efforts, along with WHO, to produce a vaccine against the Mexican swine flu?

Baxter!11 Despite the fact that ink has barely dried on the investigative reports from their should-be-criminal “mistake” against humanity.

According to other sources,12 a top scientist for the United Nations, who has examined the outbreak of the deadly Ebola virus in Africa, as well as HIV/AIDS victims, has concluded that the current swine flu virus possesses certain transmission “vectors” that suggest the new strain has been genetically-manufactured as a military biological warfare weapon.

The UN expert believes that Ebola, HIV/AIDS, and the current A-H1N1 swine flu virus are biological warfare agents.

In addition, Army criminal investigators are looking into the possibility that disease samples are missing from biolabs at Fort Detrick — the same Army research lab from which the 2001 anthrax strain was released, according to a recent article in the Fredrick News Post.13 In February, the top biodefense lab halted all its research into Ebola, anthrax, plague, and other diseases known as “select agents,” after they discovered virus samples that weren”t listed in its inventory and might have been switched with something else.

Factory Farming Maybe Source of Swine Flu

Another theory as to the cause of Swine Flu might be factory farming. In the United States, pigs travel coast to coast. They can be bred in North Carolina, fattened in the corn belt of Iowa, and slaughtered in California.

While this may reduce short-term costs for the pork industry, the highly contagious nature of diseases like influenza (perhaps made further infectious by the stresses of transport) needs to be considered when calculating the true cost of long-distance live animal transport.

The majority of U.S. pig farms now confine more than 5,000 animals each. With a group of 5,000 animals, if a novel virus shows up it will have more opportunity to replicate and potentially spread than in a group of 100 pigs on a small farm.

With massive concentrations of farm animals within which to mutate, these new swine flu viruses in North America seem to be on an evolutionary fast track, jumping and reassorting between species at an unprecedented rate.

Should You Accept a Flu Vaccine — Just to be Safe?

As stated in the New York Times14 and elsewhere, flu experts have no idea whether the current seasonal flu vaccine would offer any protection whatsoever against this exotic mutant, and it will take months to create a new one.

But let me tell you, getting vaccinated now would not only offer no protection and potentially cause great harm, it would most likely be loaded with toxic mercury which is used as a preservative in most flu vaccines..

I”ve written extensively about the numerous dangers (and ineffectiveness) of flu vaccines, and why I do not recommend them to anyone. So no matter what you hear — even if it comes from your doctor — don”t get a regular flu shot. They rarely work against seasonal flu…and certainly can”t offer protection against a never-before- seen strain.

Currently, the antiviral drugs Tamiflu and Relenza are the only drugs that appear effective against the (human flu) H1N1 virus, and I strongly believe taking Tamiflu to protect yourself against this new virus could be a serious mistake — for all the reasons I already mentioned above.

But in addition to the dangerous side effects of Tamiflu, there is also growing evidence of resistance against the drug. In February, the pre-publication and preliminary findings journal called Nature Precedings published a paper on this concern, stating15:

The dramatic rise of oseltamivir [Tamiflu] resistance in the H1N1 serotype in the 2007/2008 season and the fixing of H274Y in the 2008/2009 season has raised concerns regarding individuals at risk for seasonal influenza, as well as development of similar resistance in the H5N1 serotype [bird flu].

Previously, oseltamivir resistance produced changes in H1N1 and H3N2 at multiple positions in treated patients. In contrast, the recently reported resistance involved patients who had not recently taken oseltamivir.

It”s one more reason not to bother with this potentially dangerous drug.

And, once a specific swine flu drug is created, you can be sure that it has not had the time to be tested in clinical trials to determine safety and effectiveness, which puts us right back where I started this article — with a potential repeat of the last dangerous swine flu vaccine, which destroyed the lives of hundreds of people.

Topping the whole mess off, of course, is the fact that if the new vaccine turns out to be a killer, the pharmaceutical companies responsible are immune from lawsuits — something I”ve also warned about before on numerous occasions.

Unfortunately, those prospects won”t stop the governments of the world from mandating the vaccine — a scenario I hope we can all avoid.

How to Protect Yourself Without Dangerous Drugs and Vaccinations

For now, my point is that there are always going to be threats of flu pandemics, real or created, and there will always be potentially toxic vaccines that are peddled as the solution. But you can break free of that whole drug-solution trap by following some natural health principles.

I have not caught a flu in over two decades, and you can avoid it too, without getting vaccinated, by following these simple guidelines, which will keep your immune system in optimal working order so that you”re far less likely to acquire the infection to begin with.

Optimize your vitamin D levels. As I”ve previously reported, optimizing your vitamin D levels is one of the absolute best strategies for avoiding infections of ALL kinds, and vitamin D deficiency is likely the TRUE culprit behind the seasonality of the flu — not the flu virus itself.

This is probably the single most important and least expensive action you can take. I would STRONGLY urge you to have your vitamin D level monitored to confirm your levels are therapeutic at 50-70 ng.ml and done by a reliable vitamin D lab like Lab Corp.

For those of you in the US we hope to launch a vitamin D testing service through Lab Corp that allows you to have your vitamin D levels checked at your local blood drawing facility, and relatively inexpensively. We hope to offer this service by June 2009.

If you are coming down with flu like symptoms and have not been on vitamin D you can take doses of 50,000 units a day for three days to treat the acute infection. Some researchers like Dr. Cannell, believe the dose could even be as high as 1000 units per pound of body weight for three days.

However, most of Dr. Cannell”s work was with seasonal and not pandemic flu. If your body has never been exposed to the antigens there is chance that the vitamin D might not work. However the best bet is to maintain healthy levels of vitamin D around 60 ng/ml.

BUT to keep this in perspective the regular flu, not the swine flu, has killed 13,000 in the US since January. But there is strong support that these types of figures are grossly exaggerated to increase vaccine sales. However, the fact remains that the regular flu at this point in time is FAR more dangerous than the swine flu and were you worried about the regular flu before the media started talking this up?

Be aware that sugar is present in foods you may not suspect, like ketchup and fruit juice.

· Get Enough Rest. Just like it becomes harder for you to get your daily tasks done if you”re tired, if your body is overly fatigued it will be harder for it to fight the flu. Be sure to check out my article Guide to a Good Night”s Sleep for some great tips to help you get quality rest.

· Have Effective Tools to Address Stress . We all face some stress every day, but if stress becomes overwhelming then your body will be less able to fight off the flu and other illness.

If you feel that stress is taking a toll on your health, consider using an energy psychology tool such as the Emotional Freedom Technique (EFT), which is remarkably effective in relieving stress associated with all kinds of events, from work to family to trauma. You can check out my free, 25-page EFT manual for some guidelines on how to perform EFT.

· Exercise. When you exercise, you increase your circulation and your blood flow throughout your body. The components of your immune system are also better circulated, which means your immune system has a better chance of finding an illness before it spreads. You can review my exercise guidelines for some great tips on how to get started.

· Take a good source of animal based omega-3 fats like Krill Oil. Increase your intake of healthy and essential fats like the omega-3 found in krill oil, which is crucial for maintaining health. It is also vitally important to avoid damaged omega-6 oils that are trans fats and in processed foods as it will seriously damage your immune response.

· Wash Your Hands. Washing your hands will decrease your likelihood of spreading a virus to your nose, mouth or other people. Be sure you don”t use antibacterial soap for this — antibacterial soaps are completely unnecessary, and they cause far more harm than good. Instead, identify a simple chemical-free soap that you can switch your family to.

· Eat Garlic Regularly. Garlic works like a broad-spectrum antibiotic against bacteria, virus, and protozoa in the body. And unlike with antibiotics, no resistance can be built up so it is an absolutely safe product to use. However, if you are allergic or don”t enjoy garlic it would be best to avoid as it will likely cause more harm than good.

Avoid Hospitals and Vaccines In this particular case, I”d also recommend you stay away from hospitals unless you”re having an emergency, as hospitals are prime breeding grounds for infections of all kinds, and could be one of the likeliest places you could be exposed to this new bug. Vaccines will not be available for six months at the minimum but when available they will be ineffective and can lead to crippling paralysis like Guillain-Barré Syndrome just as it did in the 70s.
