As its getting cold and foggy in delhi, i am missing those sunny winter days when yu dont have work and you switch off your mobile and lie down on the ground with eyes closed and a smile on face, relaxing and enjoying sun like it your only chance to gather all of that cosy warmth of the sun that some find in the hug of their beloved ones….

for your info, my laptop’s screen doesnt work so i have to connect it to a lcd screen via vga cable, then i add a mouse, keyboard and hard disk. to add to that few power cords and an illustration book which works as mouse pad. in short – JUGAAD.

While working in a closed cubicle, and ODC and all surrounded by walls we often miss the marvelous beauties of nature. I feel so enticed yet so disturbed everytime there is a heavy rainfall, or a hailstorm, or just a beautiful weather, and we are sittimh at our seats completing our deliverables. Is this what is called work? Is this adulthood? Are these responsibilities?

Vodafone launch Mobile Clicks competition to UK - €150,000 on offer to winners

Got a great idea for a new mobile site or service? Perhaps you’re part of a start-up working on something really neat in the mobile space? If so, how do you fancy the chance to get your hands on a share of €150,000?

Vodafone Mobile Clicks 2009 is a joint Anglo-Dutch competion to inspire start-up businesses and individual developers to create and deliver a new mobile site or service. Run by Vodafone’s UK and Netherlands subsidaries, the the final will be held in Amsterdam in September and will feature three finalists from each country. The first three winners will be awarded a total sum of €150,000.

Last years’ Mobile Clicks’ winners included Nulaz, a location-based social networking service merging Google Maps and Facebook to allow people to see where their friends are, share locations and view local information, Tipspot a new online city guide service and Map the Gap, an idea-sharing application for mobile phones.

Creatief Amsterdam ? !

Inmiddels voor de 3e keer naar PicNic .
Dit keer ga ik, behalve om het normale programma (van vooral buitenlandse cases) mee te maken, ook om te kijken hoe het subsidie en promotie apparaat van de Stad Amsterdam werkt. Op uitnodiging van Amsterdam Topstad ben ik samen met 400 mensen uit de creatieve industrie uitgenodigd om getuige te zijn van de lancering van een nieuwe site van CCAA

Er zijn inmiddels zoveel instellingen en organisaties die allemaal subsidie potjes en potten beheren, die pitches uitschrijven, dat ik de weg kwijt ben geraakt. Donderdag en vrijdag ga ik ook nog naar de uitreiking van 3 pitches (waar overigens bij alle 3 vrienden van vetteshit voor genomineerd zijn)

- de Greenchallenge € 500.000,-
- de DING! award € 50.000,-
- de Mobile Clicks award € 100.000,-

Het gaat dus om serieuze bedragen. De ene subsidie of pitch is overigens professioneler en transparanter georganiseerd dan de andere zo op het eerste gezicht. Wat wel opvalt is dat er in amsterdam een hele groep creatieven zich alleen nog maar met pitches bezig lijkt te houden.

Anyway…. vrijdag vet feest in ieder geval ! Met dank aan de sponsors en de subsidiepot natuurlijk !
