Korea is known to be one of the countries leading the way in developing a more environmentally responsible economy. So it is no surprise that their Samsung smartphone manufacturing arm recently pulled down an award for the first time ever for a mobile handset. TCO Development is a firm which grades all kinds of companies on several environmentally friendly parameters. These range from how many hazardous materials are used in the manufacturer of a product to its eventual recycling potential. They named the Galaxy S4 as the first smartphone they have ever given a sustainability award to.

The strict grading also checks to see whether a company releases nickel, a potentially hazardous allergen, in the creation of its product. TCO praised Samsung for manufacturing their globally popular and best-selling S4 smartphone without using hazardous materials like mercury and beryllium. The award even takes into account the efficiency of the recharging mechanism included with the smartphone, as well as other factors which would lead to efficient sustainability throughout the life of a product.

Well, I suppose Mr. Man was thinking after my Percocet hazed conversation with him. I was definitely

Well, I suppose Mr. Man was thinking after my Percocet hazed conversation with him. I was definitely on his mind this morning. He wanted to talk. I had my phone off on purpose. I had talked to one of my best girlfriends about it and she said, “Oh, girl, he is gonna call! You better be ready!!!” I wasn’t. So I turned the phone off. He knows I am off on Mondays usually so he sent a text asking if I was up. I didn’t turn my phone on until around 5 his time. His text was sent at about 7:15 this morning while he was driving to work. (He better have done that while he was stopped at a red light! I have told him about texting and driving!) I replied when I turned the phone on that I had been asleep. I didn’t get a response. So either he was mad and pouting that he didn’t get a response or he was busy. I don’t know. He could be trying to “punish” me for not being there for him. Some men do that. I don’t think he would. He doesn’t play too many games. I think he didn’t have the opportunity to send a message back or anything.

It’s funny, though. He wants to discuss my Percocet-laced words. Damn! I am wondering what all I did say. I remember part of them. But I don’t remember part of them. I remember telling him flat out that if he was divorcing just to get a piece of ass that it was not a reason to divorce. I also told him that if there was anything left in his marriage then he needed to try to save it. I think I told him he needed to figure out if it was a freakin’ mid-life crisis or if it was the real deal because you can’t undo something like this. I was on a roll. I told him he knew I loved him to death and was probably one of his best friends and that is why I wouldn’t lie to him and wouldn’t sugar-coat it.

I know it ended positive because he told me he knew I always told the truth and that was one of the things he always loved about me. He also sent me a text later that day saying he would get in touch soon. I didn’t realize how soon. Usually “soon” to us is in a week or two. We will see what happens. Whatever it is, I wish him the best. I would rather be his friend and have a good relationship and good positive love like we now have than not have him in my life at all. (But I will be mad as hell if he divorces and doesn’t think about me as a possibility at all. Then I will tell him what a jackass he is.)

When I started looking at statistics on the dangers of this subject, I was shocked to find out just

When I started looking at statistics on the dangers of this subject, I was shocked to find out just how dangerous texting while driving really is. Most of us have sent a text message or checked our email while driving, but after reading this blog, I hope you will change your ways (I know I have) and have a serious conversation with the young drivers in your life.

Driving and texting, checking email, or doing anything else on your cell phone has proven to be incredibly dangerous. We all know that distracted driving is not a good idea, but just how bad is it? Try these stats on for size:

Did you know that if you are texting while driving, you are 23 times more likely to be involved in an accident?

In 2011, there were over 100,000 accidents in the U.S. that involved cell phones (National Safety Council).

Here’s one that really “drives” the point home. Every year, 3,000 teens are killed from texting while driving, compared to 2,700 who drive under the influence of alcohol. Texting and driving has now surpassed drinking and driving as the leading cause of death in teens.

Is this enough to get us all to put our cell phones away while behind the wheel?

Even though texting while driving has been banned in many states (for obvious reasons), more than 50% of teens and young adults say that they are confident they can drive safely while texting. The statistics above clearly show a different story.

How do we avoid this problem? Below are some tips to stop the cycle:

Set an example about texting for passengers in your vehicle. Just don’t do it. If you have teens, make a promise that neither of you will text while driving (or any distracted driving). If you are tempted to look at your cell phone, put it in the glove compartment or in the trunk. If you really need to send a text, pull over.

Have a serious conversation with those who text and drive, especially the teens and young adults in your life. Sending a text message simply isn’t worth getting a ticket, causing an accident or worse, a fatal accident.

Technology can help to protect our teens. Take a look at apps that will not allow texting while driving. Many cell phone providers offer free anti-texting and driving mode apps (check with your provider for what is available for you), some even send an auto-text reply to any who sends a text while you are driving. Another app worth mentioning, “Drive Safe Mode”, doesn’t allow texting while driving (the app can sense that the car is moving), and has many other great safety features.

Very simply put, if any driver takes their eyes off the road, even for a second, there could be very serious consequences. The best way to solve the problem of texting while driving is to tell drivers (old and new alike), “On the road, off the phone”.

Jailbreak vs Official IMEI Factory unlock for your Mobile phone So you have the latest Samsung Galax

Jailbreak vs Official IMEI Factory unlock for your Mobile phone

So you have the latest Samsung Galaxy 3, Motorola Defy, or the HTC one and your trying to decide whether to Pay for a official remote IMEI unlocking code or go the free route and unlock your Andriod by Rooting your Device. Whilst taking the free route always seems a good option you have to weigh up the pros and cons when wantign to free your sim from the networks restrictions.

Firstly Once you root your android device your phone’s warranty voided, some may be out of warranty and the risk is removed however this can be an issue for users that have devices that are still in warranty; and could turn out to be a costly exercise if your mobile phone becomes defective in its warranty period, and you need to send it into the service centre to be repaired.

The rooting process itself may be challeneging for some users who are not familiar with gaining root access to operating systems and changing permissions and amending system files. That being said there are many great tutorials availble to people which will help you step by step to root your Andriod smart phone.

The andriod operating system was built to be open souce, however when you root your device and start making changes to the stock rom you may experience drops in performance or the issues like your operating system being buggy. Rooting also seems to remove access to things such as engineers screen as the system no longer recognizes engineer access dial codes and the like.

The biggest issue with unlocking your andriod through gainig root access it that its not permanant unlock solution. If your need to do a factory restore on your mobile phone, the device will no longer be unlocked and you will have to go throuhg the rooting & unlocking process again.

The safest most reliable way to unlock your mobile phone is by obtaining an official IMEI Factory Unlocking code. The codes come directly from the mobile phone manufacterer and unlock your permanantly regardless or factory restores or firmware upgrades. The other great thing about using an official factory unlocking code is that your mobible phones warranty stays intact.

At sim-unlocker.co.uk we provide Official Remote unlock codes for Smart phone including iPhone, Samsung , htc , Motorola , LG , Blackberry z10 , Nokia Lumia.

In my devil’s advocate piece, I argue that texting is beneficial for introverts. It helps them to remain connected with others without leaving the comfort of home. However, I believe quite the opposite; that texting hinders social communication between people by eliminating the need for physical encounters.

Two years ago, text messaging surpassed safety on the list of reasons why teens purchase cell phones. If this says anything about our priority list as consumers, it’s that we’re become unhealthily obsessed with our mobile phones.

Today, you can visit nearly any public setting – a park, school, restaurant, shopping mall, town pool – and see most of our youth on their cell phones. Despite being with friends and family, they’re overcome by whoever is on the other side of their screens. With Americans sending an average of 3,339 texts per month, amounting to more than six texts every hour, we can’t help but imagine what everyone is constantly talking about.

Although it can be argued that texting helps introverts communicate or that it keeps teens out of trouble, I believe otherwise. For introverts, this is probably the majority of their social interaction, deteriorating their interpersonal skills. How can you learn to communicate with others when you’re hiding behind a screen? For teens, this means late-night texting, texting during family outings, and texting while driving, none of which have positive outcomes.

According to the Pew Research Center , 72 percent of teens text every day, with one-third sending more than 100 texts daily. Although parents may support texting because it keeps their child home and behaved, rather than roaming the streets, it also distracts them from family conversation and quality time spent. I’m sure that more than a handful of us have seen teens incessantly texting at the dinner table, ignoring conversation and passively escaping the situation.

But teens aren’t the only problem. Adults can avoid contact with a family member or unwanted suitor by ignoring their phone calls and sending a quick text instead. “Busy. Sry.” Not only is this rude, but it hinders our ability to handle certain situations, such as a family fight or rejection of an unwanted mate. Constantly hiding behind text messages only leads to avoiding important situations.

Although by nature, human beings have problems communicating , texting only worsens the situation. The only communication is via words and emoticons, which prevent friends from exchanging laughs, physically touching and learning general behaviors such as appropriate eye contact or personal space. You can be friends with someone for months via text and have extremely poor physical communication and body language upon meeting.

It’s true that for introverts and teens with strict parents, texting provides an avenue to get to know others. Wikihow.com suggests asking open-ended questions that illicit a longer reply. Specifically, the site says not to ask yes or no questions, such as, “Do you like pop music?” instead asking, “What are your favorite genres of music? ” But, wouldn’t it be more impacting to listen to music together? Or, learn what your friend’s favorite music is by spending time with him/her? These conversations can be meaningless without physical time spent to support them.

There’s no reason for text messaging to replace physical interaction or to invade in your encounters with others. Although it’s exciting to preoccupy one’s self with texts throughout the day, it’s better to physically leave the house and chat with a friend. You’ll get to know his or her habits and quirks – even simple details such as his/her clothing style. And if you’re using text messaging to meet a potential suitor, how can flat words be an indication of chemistry? Texting can only connect people to a certain extent, but beyond that, these fabricated don’t have much substance.

Now time to say Goodbye to Symbian OS, the last phone which Nokia Planning to release Pureview 808. After this summer we won’t able to get any Symbian OS phones in the market. Nokia Wanted to Completely stop shipping. Nokia Might plan to promote Windows mobile to Advance range phone and for lower range phone they got their new asha OS . We are not sure how much far they can push these OS. But now days Nokia wanted to move fwd. lets wait for some time and see how it gonna work. from some of popular phone sites blogged that Nokia planing to stop Shipping Symbian OS from this summer. I m personally Not recommending Symbian OS phone because after publishing we won’t get any update or trouble shots and Apps too. for now We might get all the existing apps advanced and new updates might stop by up coming days. So better to switching to iPhone or Android Phones or else if you wanted to switch with Nokia Better go with windows OS.

Not meaning to be anti-social, I, very often, come across as. At least that’s what my husband and I think of me. If you come to my place, you can use anything except my iPad or my phone or my laptop.

Sorry, there are limits. I don’t want to be mean but experiences have taught me that there are things you don’t let people use and run amok with. Like my 4-year-old laptop whose keyboard buttons got mashed up by kids I generously allowed to play computer games with. I love kids (I have one and almost died to get one!) but please teach them to be polite and not to expect me to be so giving with my gadgets. I guard those little devices as if my life depend on them. Sometimes, it does!

Yes, so there is it..out in the open…

Acer do want to make a Windows Phone 8 device but only after seeing Microsoft putting more advertising dollars behind the platform.

In an interview with Pocket-lint, Allen Burnes, EMEA vice-president for Acer’s smartphone division, said that Acer doesn’t yet see Windows Phone as a safe bet. He went on to add: “We want to be there, but as someone who is growing up in the industry, we have to take bets and right now we know that this works [Android]. For us, taking that [Windows Phone] bet is not the right decision this year.”

According to Burnes, with Windows Phone devices, Nokia is not only working on its own but also on Microsoft’s brand. He also noted that if the Finnish company had “access to Android, they’d be dangerous,” which is the idea shared by many others in the industry.

Finally, Burnes noted that Windows Phone’s app ecosystem is still behind those of Android with users having to pay for some apps that are available for free on Google’s platform.

Now we’re not sure whether to applaud Acer’s “wait and see” approach or not. By the time Windows Phone gets a decent market share, it will be even more dominated by Nokia, making it that much harder for other vendors.

Earlier last month BlackBerry announced it will be bringing its highly popular BlackBerry Messenger

Earlier last month BlackBerry announced it will be bringing its highly popular BlackBerry Messenger (a.k.a. BBM) to Android and iOS, but it turns out the Canadians are aiming higher – they want BBM to be available out of box.

“There is interest from other handset makers” says BlackBerry COO Kristian Tear, but he didn’t say which ones. Apple is certainly not one of them (it has a competing service, iMessage), Android manufacturers will be easier to convince (except maybe Samsung, which has ChatOn).

While BBM has been falling out of popularity recently, it’s still used by 51 million users for an average of 90 minutes a day. The monthly user count is only a little higher – 60 million – which means that most people who have BBM use it heavily.

Android and iOS users won’t get the full BlackBerry Messenger experience, not at first anyway. There will be chats (including multi-user chats), Groups and voice notes. Voice and video calls, channels plus screen sharing are expected to be added later on.

By the way, the Android and iOS apps should land in their respective app stores on June 27.
