La colección Primavera-Verano 2010 de Alexander Wang ha dictado cómo llevar el cabello  para la próxima temporada: la trenza al lado. La actriz Rachel McAdams copió el estilo para la premier de su nuevo filme Sherlock Holmes y la modelo Kasia Struss lo luce en la edición de enero de la revista Vogue.

Pero no tienes que esperar tanto para llevarlo, puede ser parte de tu look en las fiestas de Navidad y Fin de Año, cópiales el estilo.

La modelo Amber Valetta es el rostro de Nars para su campaña de Primavera-Verano 2010.  El gurú del maquillaje François Nars fotografió a la modelo emulando a la actriz francesa Catherine Deneuve, en su rol de Lucille en el filme La Chamade.

La paleta de esta colección incluye tonos rosa y melocotón para los labios y púrpura para los ojos y  las uñas. Tomen nota!

No ha pasado el año y ya estamos viendo las campañas de Primavera-Verano 2010. Pero hagamos una retrospectiva de la mejor publicidad de moda del 2009. De acuerdo al listado de Models, la mejor es la campaña de Otoño-Invierno de Givenchy,  estelarizada por Adriana Lima, Mariacarla Boscono, Iris Strubegger y Leonor Scherrer.

Kristen McMenamy junto a sus gatos negros se lleva el segundo lugar por la campaña de Lanvin, realizada por Steven Meisel.

Seguido de la publicidad de Otoño-Invierno de Valentino, bajo la realización de Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott

Para su campaña de Primavera-Verano 2010 Gucci se traslada Palm Beach para darle el toque chic de verano a su publicidad. Los ángulos de las imágenes le agregan profundidad  y un poco de acción a sus imágenes, logrando un efecto espectacular.

Además de Natasha Poly  y Ryan Kennedy, quienes se mantienen como los rostros de la firma italiana para esta temporada los bolsos de esta colección también cobran protagonismo y no se quedan en ninguna de las tomas.

Fresca, muy de verano y ultra chic… una de nuestras campañas favoritas para esta próxima temporada.

I felt that an important part of immersing myself in a country’s culture was to learn more about their national tipples. Here are the results of my research:

Peru
The national drink is the Pisco Sour, a concontion of Pisco (a sort of grape spirit), lemon juice and frothed egg-white. Yummy but risky. One of these is a strong contender for being the source of my parasite.

Bolivia
Not sure, still struggling with the after-effects of the Peruvian Pisco Sour

Chile
This was the first place I went to where it was more or less safe to drink the water. Aside from water, I drank the first decent coffee of the trip and the odd glass of nice wine. All in all, still very restrained thanks to the parasite.

Uruguay
Mate is equally popular in Uruguay. Alcohol-wise, the tipples of choice are Clerico (fruit juice mixed with wine) or Medio y medio (sparkling wine mixed with white wine). Rather like Sangria; both are easy to gulp and therefore quite lethal.

Brazil
We drank Skol beer; known in the UK as being something akin to tramp juice. Its much smoother in Brazil. But the king of Brazilian booze has to be Cachaça; the sugar cane spirit that goes into Caipirinhas. According to wikipedia, Brazilians quaff 1.5 billion litres of the stuff each year. Caipirinhas are pretty potent and contain no mixer; just lime juice and sugar. I heard stories of even the hardiest foreign drinkers being rushed to hospital to have their stomachs pumped after just 3 or 4. I did not become one of these statistics but I did sustain and injury of sorts, much to everyone’s amusement. I noticed a white patch of skin on my chin and when I asked the doctor he diagnosed Phytophotodermatitis, caused by sun reacting with lime juice. My boyfriend refers to this as my booze stain. Cringe.

Guatemala
Guatemala was not a fancy-cocktail sort of place. Gallo was the tipple of choice; a lovely crisp smooth beer.

Honduras
We didn’t get to find out thanks to the coup.

El Salvador
Pilsener was the beer of choice here. There was a moonshine called ‘Chaparro’ that is popular in El Salvador but I’m afraid I didn’t partake

Nicaragua
Flor de Cana rum was very popular and drunk, in quite British fashion, by the bottle with an ice bucket for acompaniment. Not suprisingly, this did result in some Alka Seltzer therapy.

Costa Rica
The beers of choice here were Imperial and Bavaria. The bizarre non-alcoholic drink of choice was Horchata; a sort of milky fruit drink made with rice flour and cinnamon. Didn’t do much for me, I have to say.

Panama
Beers here were forgettable. So much so, I’ve forgotten them.

Nuevamente nos encontramos con retoques digitales extremos. Ya vimos el mega caso de de Demi Moore para la revisa W. Ahora vemos el caso de Twiggy para la campaña de cosméticos Olay.

Lo irónico de todo, es el mensaje de la campaña “Olay is my secret to brighter-looking eyes”. Sí, ya vimos el secreto, sólo viendo una imagen de cómo el ícono del modelaje viviente Twiggy luce actualmente a sus 60 años, y cómo luce después de una larga sesión de photoshop. Al menos no fue necesario cambiarle el cuerpo.

Emely Blunt, Claudia Schiffer y Eva Green

Largo, corto o a media pierna. Dos de los colores que nunca faltan en nuestro armario, ahora juntos en una misma pieza. Claudia Schiffer y las actrices Emely Blunt y Eva Green saben cómo llevarlo.

Hemos encontrado en Sassybella la imagen que pudo haber inspirado a la fotógrafa Yu Tsay y a Lindsay Lohan para su intento fracasado de emular al dueto Kate Moss y Johnny Depp de los 90.

La foto de la pareja sobre la cama fue realizada por Annie Leibovitz. La imagen desprende la historia de amor de Moss-Depp en esta época, mientras que la de Lindsay parece un behind the scenes de sus party nights.

Las demás imágenes fueron tomadas por Francios-Marie Barnier y de igual manera resalta a una pareja enamorada, lejos del trío de Lohan, Petey Wright y Sofía Boutella del editorial de Muse.

Yu Tsay, la fotógrafa: “Los tres estuvieron muy sensuales y provocativos, pero Lindsay entendió que esta pieza no fue creada para ningún valor sensacional que no sea arte”….sí muy artística.

La hija menor de Mick Jagger y Jarry Hall fue la elelgida para Model of The Year del Fashion British Awards, superando a Rosie Huntington Whiteley, Daisy Lowe.

Georgia es actualmente uno de los nuevos rostros de la firma cosmética Rimmel, de los jeans Hudson y es la estrella de la campaña Primavera-Verano 2010 de Versace.

Fräulein, añorar en Alemán, es el título del nuevo libro de la conocida fotógrafa Ellen von Unwerth. El editorial trae una serie de imágenes realizadas por von Unwerth durante los últimos 15 años, muchas inéditas.

Con una descarga de desnudos y erotismo, lejos de caer en lo vulgar, Fräulein es un completo despliegue de fotografías alternadas en color y blanco y negro.

Una vez más, la también colaboradora fiel de Vanity Fair ilustra a íconos de la sensualidad como Claudia Schiffer, Kate Moss, Vanessa Paradis, Britney Spears, Eva Mendes, Dita von Teese, Adriana Lima, Carla Bruni, Eva Green, Christina Aguilera, Monica Bellucci, entre otras.

Esses dias eu estava fuçando alguns sites para matar o meu tédio e acabei encontrando um super bacana chamado TED que fala basicamente sobre inovações na areas do design, tecnologia e entretenimento. TED começou em 1984 como uma conferencia dos novos “pensadores” e com a maravilha da internet essas conferencias e palestras estão disponiveis em videos para todos que tiverem interesse em ver! Yaaaaay!

Entre essas mil palestras registradas em video, tem uma super interessante da Aimee Mullins, que é uma escritora, atleta, modelo (desfilou para o Macqueen beijos), etc, e que também é deficiente física. Não fui atrás da história da mulher por preguiça mas creio que ela perdeu as pernas em um acidente.

 Enfim, nessa palestra ela revela um novo ponto de vista a respeito do deficiente físico, e de uma proposta inovadora de próteses que não apenas podem repor um membro perdido, como podem tornar o desempenho dessas próteses superior a um membro humano tanto estéticamente como funcional, como? Um bom exemplo foi um experimento com próteses em formato de corredores de fribras de carbono que são dispositivos para corrida que possibilitam a pessoa correr MUITO rápido. Cool hum?! Mais interessante é ver que a propria Aimee é usuaria dessas próteses e participa de competições com elas (vide foto ao lado).

Fire on the doorstep of Modelo!

On the night of Thursday to Friday, we set fire to a crane on the doorstep of one of the temples of democracy: Modelo. By making good use of a construction site for that wretched infrastructural project known as the TAV, we wanted to salute the jailed and their jailers—the former so that they feel less alone, and the latter to remind them that there are still people who will take risks to oppose them.

Greetings to all our imprisoned comrades, those who have given their lives, and of course those who continue to do so without a second thought.

Sexy Solange Magnano

This weekend, another natural beauty has succumbed to the pressures of maintaining a youthful appearance, rather than to grow old gracefully.  A former Miss Argentina died Sunday after complications arising from plastic surgery on her buttocks, in an attempt to firm up butt,that in her own opinion,had begun to sag.

The AP is reporting…Solange Magnano,38, a mother of twins who won the crown in 1994, died of a pulmonary embolism Sunday after three days in critical condition following a gluteoplasty in Buenos Aires.

Close friend Roberto Piazza said the procedure involved injections and the liquid “went to her lungs and brain.”

“A woman who had everything lost her life to have a slightly firmer behind,” he said.”She lived the life of a goddess, she was the envy of everybody.”

The model Magnano died undergoing a Gluteoplasty – a procedure to either lift the buttocks, or to enlarge the posterior by inserting synthetic implants. It has long been rumored to be the surgery that Kim Kardashian may quite possibly have had to give her ample butt a lift,but it has never been substantiated.

It is an operation favoured by women who want fuller and firmer buttocks, hoping to look like stars such as Jennifer Lopez or Beyoncé Knowles. Dr. Gonzalo Cortes y Tristan said she arrived at his hospital with an acute respiratory deficiency. Her condition deteriorated until she suffered the embolism.

Ms Magnano was buried in her hometown of San Francisco, in the province of Cordoba, in front of 300 people yesterday.

Magnano’s burial Monday was shown on Argentine television.

Ms Magnano was a very succesful fashion model working the runway around the world, and it is reported that in Paris, she was highly sought after to wear top designers clothes because she offered a little different body type. She was different, not a Barbie-like beauty.

Unfortunetly, lately Ms Magnano had given in to her obsession to maintain her youthful appearance, even after giving birth to twins.

The Sun is reporting that…her death has sparked a huge debate in Argentina about the rights and wrongs of cosmetic surgery. Around 50,000 cosmetic operations were carried out in the country last year, up more than 60 per cent in five years.

Increasing numbers of foreigners are travelling to the South America country, as surgery there is relatively cheap.

Tragically, what is left here is the fact that a beautiful,healthy, young mother has died unnecessarily,and her two twins are now left behind to grow up with no mother.

I send out my condolences to Ms Magnano and her family.

Martina soñaba con ser mayor. Mayormente buena, mayormente guapa, mayormente inteligente, mayormente generosa, mayormente educada, mayormente alta.

Soñaba en blanco y negro.

Sin embargo ayer soñé con ella y la vi en color.

Um casal simpático que aguarda o nascimento de Arthur. Erika já esta quase no final da gestação e o papai Emerson já não vê a hora de ver o rostinho do Arthur que não para quieto, ainda mais na frente das câmeras… rs

O ensaio foi feito na Serra da Piedade e Erika, Emerson e o Arthur viraram celebridades em meio aos turistas.

Bem segue um pouco do ensaio… Todos aguardamos ansiosos o nascimento do Arthur.
