Most of you have probably come across the great designs of Weeks Ringle and Bill Kerr of Modern Quilt Studio, formerly Fun Quilts.  They have three awesome books to their credit:

What you may not know, is the husband/wife design team have a new magazine called Modern Quilts Illustrated.  The third issue will be out in July.  What makes this publication unique is that it doesn’t accept advertising, so what you get is three amazing patterns, plus extras each issue.  I was able to snag a copy of the first issue and I now have two of the three designs on my to-do list.

Directions are easy to follow and include many illustrations, which is a must for me.  Different colorways are also shown.

One of the most interesting pages is what they call Palette Chasing, “designed to encourage the exploration and discovery of inspiring color combinations.”  This issue featured the palette inside the Library of Congress. While similar in context to the Design Seeds site, I really like the historical link this offers.
