So I thought, why not try to write something different. ‘Different’ being the keyword here; the word repeatedly yelled by every single Trashmaker.

The following list comprises of movies that although were Trashes somehow got public acceptance. This article is my analysis of those movies and an attempt to find the reasons that resulted in their success.

All characters in this article are real and bear perfect resemblance to person living or dead.  The following article is genuinely offensive and every single attempt at insulting these characters are intentional.

Mohabbatein:

Shamelessly copied from Dead Poets Society, this trash of a movie is so bad that had the Dead Poets from Dead Poets Society dared to watch the film, they would definitely come alive.

Parampara,  Pratishtha aur Anusashan - These words define the movie.

Parampara - This movie started the parampara for Yash Raj Films to make trashy movies which continues till today.

Pratishtha - The fame which YRF once had and started to lose after this film and continues to do so.

Anushashan - Clearly something that Yash Chopra did not have on the sets or else Adiyta Chopra wouldn’t have made this trash.

Yash Raj Films should be sued for making this movie. Why? They introduced 6 new comers with this film.

Uday Chopra, Shamita Shetty, Jugal Hansraj, Kim Sharma, Jimmy Shergill and Preeti Jhangiani.

Why? Why? Why? Had they not done that, we would have been saved from so many future horrors!!!

It’s funny as none of the actors get a proper role in any Hindi film anymore. I wish YRF understood that before making this movie. Sigh!

Everything in this movie is repeated thrice.

When Uday Chopra meets a girl, Jimmy Shergill also meets a girl and Jugal Hansraj does the same.

When Uday sings, Jugal sings and poor Jimmy has to sing as well.

When Uday kisses his girl, Jugal kisses his girl and Jimmy almost does that. But at the last moment the Bhartiya Nari in Preeti Jhangiani wakes up and ruins Jimmy’s day.

What the fuck! Why can’t all these characters stay inside one room and have  group sex? Atleast with that the poor audince will save their precious time.

What else does the movie have?

Oh! I forgot the main actor. Apna Shah Rukh Khan.

USA invented Hamburger.

India replied with Ham-Star.

Now comes the main question. If the movie is so pathetic, how on earth did it work? I got no answer. After searching for a long time, I finally found a picture which proves why the movie worked.

Just look at the above picture.  Look at the expression! Is there any other movie in the history of Hindi cinema that has a better scene of Orgasm?

I can guarantee that every single male who watched the scene got off.

Isn’t Orgasm the most precious and wanted thing for all of us? Now if a movie can provide that, it just cannot flop. It has to be a HUGE HIT.

Mohabbatein proved it, all over again.

Devdas

Many reasons are there for this movie failure.This time also he came with a feel good movie. In case he has very good story line, but many loop holes are there in the story line.  In DDLJ and Mohabbatein art work has special place in that movies success.

But this time he failed to give required look. Anushka Sharma who made her debut with this movie also one more draw back for this movie. Audience were ran to theaters only to watch Shahrukh’s new look.

Salim -Sulaiman‘s music did good job. They stood in top place of music charts for many months.

DDLZ is the biggest hit in Bollywood history. still it has been running in a theater from last thirteen years. But Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi failed to meet with the success range of those movies and later it was marked as another feel good movie. But Producer bagged good profits through this movie.

Movie failure effected Anushka Sharma’s career. Before release of this she got lot of craze, like another Bangalore girl Deepika Padukone entered into Bollywood with SRK’s Om Shanti Om became a star heroine.  But Anushka Sharma is waiting for offers now.

Raj (Shah Rukh Khan) is a music teacher whose love ended with his lover’s death. He joins in Gurukul as a music teacher. Gurukul is a strict educational institution and never allows funny things. Narayan (Amitabh Bachchan) owner of the Gurukul always believes in discipline and hates love.

Raj encourages Gurukul students to enjoy and to love. He reveals that he was an old student in that institution, his lover Megha (Aishwarya Rai) was the daughter of Narayan and because of her father’s strict rules she failed to express her love and committed suicide. At the end Raj makes Narayan realise the value of love.

Uday Chopra made his debut into Bollywood with this movie. Preity Jinghani, Kim Sharma and Jimmy Shergill were the other important actors in this movie.

After the evergreen classic film Dilwale Dulhania Lezayenge there are lot of expectations on Shah Rukh Khan and Aditya Chopra‘s film. Their second film Mohabbatein also did excellent job at the box office. After eight years they came together for a third film Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi.

While they were searching for a new girl as heroine for that movie they found Anushka Sharma. Elite Modeling Agency gave her photos to Aditya Chopra.

She was a model before acting in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She featured in some ads for the companies like Nathan Jewellery, Silk & Shine and Fiat Palio.

She was trained by Bangalore’s famous personality Prasad Bidappa to enter into modeling. Fashion designer Wendell Rodricks gave her a good break.

In 2007, King Khan introduced Deepika Padukone with the film Om Shanthi Om. She became a craze in Bollywood. So many expected this Bangalore girl Anushka will also become a star heroine. But she is not impressive compared with Deepika Padukone.

Let me then, start, by narrating the incident which sowed the first seeds of his admiration in my mind. I have to say that the first film I watched of SRK in a theatre was Kuch Kuch Hota Hoi. I was a 5 year old toddler then, and therefore the scenes where SRK is shown mingling with his daughter, was especially appealing for me and it eventually made me feel that he was great with children. Although I was ignorant then, I realize now that KKHH kick started the process of me becoming a SRK admirer.

Another important factor which transformed me into a SRK fan, was that my Mother’s brother bears a striking resemblance to SRK, and that is why I always felt, during those days that I am interacting with King Khan (phrase coined much after then) at a daily basis. And this uncle of mine, also was an avid fan of SRK, so he used to watch every SRK film’s first, second and third show, which used to baffle me. I thought to myself, “Is Mama mad?” This feeling was not only limited to me, but, every other family member was quite worried as well, and that too strikingly enough.

My Uncle used to see all those movies alone, without anybody accompanying him. My study pressure was a lot less then and hence my Mother asked him to take me along with him to one of those shows. As scheduled my mom I went along with Mama, to the first day second show of Baadshah. Keep in mind I was all of 6 then. The special effects and all the gadgets and gizmos mystified me. Come on, what else did a six year old want then? Only some magic and a little dose of Scooby Doo. Huh!

Looking back now, I feel Shahrukh would have been better off without doing that film. But that’s just a personal opinion.

As I enjoyed the movie, my Mom thought that the Best way to keep me off my naughtiness was to send me to a Shahrukh film with my Mama. And I and Mama willingly agreed.

Then started a time when I saw a lot of his movies one after the other. They were Josh, Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani, Mohabbatein and Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham. I was undergoing the process of development then, so I think those movies have definitely influenced my being. But not as much as his later films. Will talk about them later.

Josh made me look at life with a rough attitude, although that feeling has vanished now, the film still remains one of my favourites.

Phir Bhi Dil Hai Hindustani enraged in me a feeling of patriotism to which I had been to alien before that. And Lagaan, along with it that year turned me into a Patriot.

Mohabbatein started the engraving of a feeling of love for Music, which has multiplied manifolds in the next few years.

Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham is perhaps the most important as far as influence is concerned. My parents have never been the same for me again. I look at them with a lot more respect and love and a feeling of togetherness has also shown up in me.

I will continue with this and how SRK’s life and times have predisposed in me and has left in me a deep-seated mark in my mental and emotional set up of life, as a whole, in my next few posts.

Shamita‘s item number Sahara Sahara became a special attraction for the movie Meri Yaar Ki Shaadi Hai. This song features in a party scene. In the entire song she danced with a single costume. Her dance movements were also very good.

Bipasha Basu, Uday Chopra, Jimmy Shergill and Tulip Joshi starred in this Yash Raj Films project. Sanjay Gadhvi who is very famous with Dhoom and Dhoom 2 directed this movie.

Bangalore beauty Anushka Sharma was introduced with Shah Rukh’s Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi. She came from an army family. She completed her education in Bangalore only.

She was trained for modelling by Prasad Bidappa. Wendell Rodricks found her in a clothes shop in Bangalore.  He introduced Anushka Sharma to the fashion world.

She was a show stopper at the 2007 Lakme India Fashion Week. Then she has appeared in many commercial ads like Silk & Shine, Nathella Jewellery and Fiat Palio. Yash Raj Films chief Aditya Chopra got her photos from the Elite Modeling Agency. After some auditions he confirmed her as the heroine in Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi opposite Shah Rukh Khan.

That is third film for Aditya as a director. Before this movie he directed the films like Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge and Mohabbatein.Shah Rukh Succesfully debuted Anushka also as another Banglore girl Deepika Padukone.

Ash paired opposite Shah Rukh Khan for the movie Shakti: The Power. Before this movie this couple featured in some super hits like Devdas and Mohabbatein. This movie was directed by Tollywood director Krishna Vamsi.

This movie revolves around a character Nandini (Karishma Kapoor) who has escaped from India to Canada. While her opponents are trying to stop her Jaisingh (Shah Rukh Khan) helps  her. This Ishq Kamina song features as Jaisingh’s introduction.

Jaisingh is a low ordinary labour guy. According to his character this song was planned. Aishwarya Rai features in a low class maid’s dress which was designed by Mandira Shukla. The song was shot in an open bar setting.

Very active movements in the dance and hi beats in the songs rocks mass audience. Anu Malik composed this song. Farah Khan choreographed the dance movements.

Pia Trivedi

The second season of Fear Factor Khatron Ke Khiladi is back. And the show, hosted by Akshay Kumar, promises to be exciting, as he may be joined by some of the hottest women in film and fashion industries.
The new season will be slightly different from the first. This time, the celebrity women will be accompanied by ordinary folks. The shoot is expected to start in Cape Town, start in Cape Town, next month.

Rozza Catalano

Saif Ali Khan’s Italian ex-girlfriend didn’t pack her bags the moment she broke up with the actor. Instead, she signed up for an item number in Samar Khan’s Shaurya. She showed off her dancing skills in the dance reality show Yeh Hai Jalwa as well.

Mandira Bedi

Known for her fashionable wardobe and commentating skills, Mandira was first noticed in the telly soap, Shanti. From a sari-clad Shanti to her noodle straps on Extraaa Innings, Mandy has gathered quite a loyal fan following.

Neha started her career in the telly soap, Rajdhani, in 1999. She went on to win the Miss India Universe title in 2002, and starred in hits like Julie, Qayamat Kyaa Kool Hai Hum and Shootout at Lokhandwala.

Her future looks bright too. She has five movies lined up this year  Paying Guest, Pappu Can’t Dance Saala, Raat Gayi Baat Gayi, Raftaar and De Dhana Dan.

Shveta Salve

A television darling, Shveta has acted in serials like Kittie Party, Lipstick, Kahin Kissi Roz, Saarkar and Left Right Left. She also made it to the finals of Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa.

She also made a foray into films with a cameo in Pyar Mein Kabhi Kabhi and music videos for Stereo Nation. Her future project is a Dharmesh Darshan’s next, Bhanwraa, starring Manav Gohil, Ejaz Khan and Sangeeta Ghosh.

Sushma Reddy

The eldest of the Reddy sisters  Meghna and Sameera , Sushma made her foray into showbiz through veejaying for Channel [V]. The model-turned-actress has also appeared in Sonu Nigam’s music album, Deewana. Her Hindi debut was Chocolate followed by Don and Chup Chup Ke.

Anyone can direct a movie for a year, making 14 movies in 14 yeras is not great. But directing one movie which is on the screen for 14 years and still going on is really great. The person who directed such a movie is none other than Aditya Chopra who came into Bollywood as Yash Chopra‘s son. He directed only 3 movies in 14 years but every time he got a hit.

In 1994 in the age of 24 he started his directional career at the same time taking responsibilities of Yash Raj Films from his father. He encouraged many young and talented directors through this Yash Raj banner. And wrote scripts to many films which were produced in the same banner.

His first film is Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge, a touching love story. Kajol and Shah Rukh Khan acted in lead roles for this movie. This movie is still running at theatres in Mumbai. It broke all the records and became an all time classic movie. So many people said that this is the best movie after Sholay.

In 2000 he released his second film as director that is Mohabbatein. With this film he introduced his brother Uday Chopra to the Indian screen. With this film he proved himself again and achieved commercial success and critical acclaim. It was the first time that Bollywood people saw Shah Rukh and Amitabh together onscreen.

After an eight year gap, he released his third movie Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi again with Shah Rukh Khan in the lead. The tag line of the movie “There Is Extra ordinary Love In Every Ordinary Jodi” is really very good it will be in the hearts of people forever. This movie did average business at the box office but was another good movie from Yash Raj Films and Aditya.

He gave many international range movies like Dhoom ,Dhoom 2,  Chak De India, Veera Zaara in Bollywood under his banner Yash Raj Films. While he is not busy in film production he is writing scripts. Bunty Aur Babli, Dhoom2, Veer Zaara and Dil To Pagal Hai were penned by him.

Finally the moment has arrived where I get to write the review for this movie. I am an SRK fan and hence, was really looking forward to the release of this movie – RAB NE BANA DI JODI. Wanted to go for the first day first show, but unfortunately since I was working today I had no other choice but to go in the evening and trust me the wait was torturous!!! Anyway here goes my review-

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi (RNBDJ), directed by Aditya Chopra after an 8 year hiatus, has the King Khan of Bollywood Shah Rukh Khan and introduces model turned actress Anushka Sharma. Aditya Chopra is most remembered for having directed Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge (popularly known as DDLJ), a movie that changed the face of Bollywood movies forever and breaking all records by running at theatres even till today after 13 years. His last movie Mohabbatein failed to revive the same magic, not that it wasn’t a good movie, but it had a stalwart of a movie behind it to be compared to. But enough of reviewing Adi’s past, this review is about RNBDJ. With RNBDJ, Aditya Chopra has shifted from normal eternal love stories where boy meets girl in the first hour, they fall in love in the next, and the boy manages to get the girl in the last hour. Instead this movie is totally contrary where it’s the story of how the guy gets the girl first and then gets her to love him, the person that he is. That’s what makes this movie different from the usual run of the mill love stories presently being churned out of Bollywood.

Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi is the story of a boring ordinary man, Surinder Sahni (Shah Rukh Khan) and a vivacious young girl, Taani (Anushka Sharma). How this totally unreal and unexpected jodi (pair) are forced to come together under unforeseen circumstances, and how they stick together is what the movie is about. Surinder being just an ordinary man in love with a beautiful young girl wants her to be happy no matter what, even if that means he needs to change his identity and the person that he is and become Raj. But in between all the pretension Surinder loses his focus, which is to make Taani fall in love with Surinder not Raj. All Surinder wants is Taani to be happy, even if that means he is not the one who gets to make her happy. But Rab (God) has something else in his mind cause after all RAB NE BANA DI JODI (God has made the pair). That’s all I am going to give about the story line of the movie.

Music is composed by Salim-Sulaiman, as has been in the recent past with Yash Raj films. The score is one of the best that has come out of this musical duo. The title track being the best out of the lot. Also watch out for Phir Milenge Chalte Chalte, a different & special tribute to Bollywood Superstars – Raj Kapoor, Dev Anand, Shammi Kapoor, Rajesh Khanna & Rishi Kapoor. The picturization of this song was the biggest surprise in the movie. Hmmm I am sorry, I cannot keep this to myself, this song has Kajol (Yes, Kajol & SRK together after a long time and do they look goooooood????!!!!), Rani, Preity, Bipasha and Lara in very special appearances. All in all a feel good, down to earth and close to heart situational musical score that will keep you humming all the way.

Direction faultless as would be expected by someone like Aditya Chopra. Story very different as I have already said. For a change I saw that love is not love when reciprocated but it could be selfless as well. This was a welcome change from the age-old theory of love and possession. Screenplay and dialogues are very simple and touches your heart. The situations are so real that you feel yes, even I could feel like this, if I was here even I’d do the same thing. That’s what is so special about RNBDJ, you are able to live the characters, you are able to see yourself in the same situations as them and you are able to relate to their feelings and the actions that they take – only because RNBDJ is an ordinary story of ordinary characters.

Shah Rukh Khan is seen portraying two opposing characters, and he does justice to both. His comic timing as well as his emotional  flare I believe is uncomparable and hands down he is one of the best actors Bollywood has ever seen. I still don’t understand how being 43 years old he still looks young and has so much of energy.

That brings me down to the young girl Anushka Sharma. 19 years old and hence, being less than half the age of SRK, initially I was skeptical about their pairing. But I was proved wrong because they looked just right in an almost extraordinary way. Being her first movie, Anushka has surprised me. Usually models are termed as stone-faced and not good actors but Anushka has changed all that. She’s got a good amount of footage in this movie to show her acting prowess and she has made good use of the opportunity. She’s a complete package – beautiful, dances well and most importantly acts well. In her first movie itself she’s done so well, I cannot wait to see where she goes from here. Other actresses better keep a look out, Anushka has come well prepared and she’s here to stay.

All in all Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi has all that it takes to make a blockbuster. I would give it 4.5 on 5, mostly because of the beautiful message that the movie tries to give - love should not be based on what’s outside but what’s inside and above all it should be without any expectation. Do not hesitate even once to go for this movie, it is Bollywood Love Story at it’s best.

Earlier this month, we had told you about the dream project, which brings back Bollywood’s global superstar, Shah Rukh Khan and ace director Aditya Chopra, together for the third time, after a gap of almost eight years, RAB NE BANA DI JODI.

We also told you that the project was all set to go before the camera in mid-May. Here is more on the same. No, no, do not let your imagination run wild, as we are not here to tell you about which lucky heroine has been finalized to star opposite King Khan, as there is no news on that front.

As per the latest communique from Yash Raj Films, RAB NE BANA DI JODI is all set to hit the screens globally on December 12. And that is indeed a superb release date choice, as it will coincide with the bountiful weekend of festive ‘Eid-Ul-Azha’ period, and the coming weeks will see the Christmas and winter vacations in the schools and colleges.

So the stage is set for an exciting and record establishing end to the year with an extremely exciting project, one that marks the reunion of the team that gave us the record breaking DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE (still running in Bombay) and MOHABBATEIN.

One of the most exciting projects to have been announced this year is the third time teaming up of the scion of the Yash Raj empire, ace director Aditya Chopra and Bollywood’s global superstar Shah Rukh Khan.

The last two ventures that these two power giants of Bollywood came together for were, DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE and MOHABBATEIN, both of which struck gold at the ticket window. An amazing stat about the team’s first venture, DILWALE DULHANIA LE JAYENGE is that the film is still running at Bombay’s Maratha Mandir in its 645th combined week and has netted an astonishing 11.80 crores from the city (excluding Thane). DDLJ still leads King Khan’s latest blockbuster, OM SHANTI OM by about 30 lakhs! Amazing, isn’t it?

Coming to the project which forced Shah Rukh Khan to cut short his much deserved vacation (post the triumph of CHAKDE! INDIA and OM SHANTI OM), RAB NE BANA DI JODI, the film is all set to go before the camera in mid-May. And contrary to speculations, no lead heroine (not even Rani Mukherjee) has been finalized and the search for a new face opposite King Khan continues.
