I bought this product while I was visiting relatives in Thailand over the summer holidays (November-January). I said earlier that I don’t usually go for whitening products as my Eurasian skin already gives me a naturally lighter skin shade but for some reason I bought this one. The one REGRET for the whole trip.

Today’s Product: The Body Shop Moisture White Shiso BB Cream

The Moisture White Shiso range is marketed more for people who want to lighten their complexion with a more ‘natural’ range of products. It has shiso, liquorice, vitamin C and aloe vera which is meant to instantly even and brighten up your complexion. It comes in a 30 mL squeeze bottle and at 800 baht (roughly $28 AUS) and even with 10% seasonal promotion that was going on, it is definitely one of the more expensive BB creams I have bought

PROs: It does everything which it says it does. It lightens and evens (to some extent of course) all using a very small amount of the product. It doesn’t look like I’m back to haunt the living on camera in fact I use this BB cream when I know that there will be a few pictures being taken but don’t want to wear layers of makeup. It provides enough coverage while still looking naturally radiant with or without flash.

The product description on the website says that the BB cream is to act as a base before applying foundation (instead of a primer) however I don’t think it is always going to be necessary. I find that it provides enough coverage for day to day use. When I need something heavier or am venturing out during the night I tend to gravitate towards my foundations.

CONs: Don’t get me wrong it’s not as if I hate this product I just find that for my skin in particular there are equivalent or better options out there for a similar or cheaper price.

Quite a thick form of BB cream which is a little harder to manipulate compared to other brands.

The BB cream isn’t available in Body Shop stores in Australia yet so getting your hands on it can be quite difficult unless you are visiting or living overseas. However other products from the Moisture White range are available.

It smells of sunscreen and considering it’s only SPF 25 I’m not too sure if it’s worth the scent driven headache.

3/5 Cupcakes!

Perhaps I’m a little harsh but considering companies are throwing out new BB Cream products every week or so the competition is pretty intense. You have to deliver as well as others do! So would I recommend it to you? Probably not and to be honest I don’t think I will even make it through the rest of my tube It was soo promising too!
