A study from San Francisco State University confirms that those who spend their money on new experiences are happier. The researchers issued a questionnaire to 10,000 people and found those who spent their money doing something new – flying to Mexico with their friends, eating at a new restaurant, or buying tickets to a new play – were generally more content with life than those who blew their cash on shoes or fancy gadgets. The “experiential spenders” were also more likely to play well with others, take risks, and feel less anxious.

I happen to agree with the idea that new experiences make you happier. Just reading about new places and experiences makes me happier. I guess that’s why I am so passionate about travel.

So, do agree? Are you happier when you spend money doing or buying something fabulous?

As always, please feel free to share your thoughts. I hope that by sharing my experiences you find strength, hope, and solutions when you make a commitment to live beyond your illness.
