Tonight I experienced something very peculiar and unnerving. While browsing the internet (the BBC UK political party poll ratings graph to be precise) I very gently touched my computer case with my foot, and fought nothing of it. However, a few seconds later, I noticed a number of vertical lines of pixels spanning the entire width of the monitor which were flashing. The machine had been up for a few days and folding with the graphics card, so I assumed that it had simply overheated or the driver had stopped working correctly, so I shutdown and left it for an hour.

When I rebooted, the lines had gone. However, after a few minutes, they returned (although there were only two lines now). At this point I decided that the graphics card must be dying. After all, it is second hand and about 2 years old (although it still performs well). I searched the internet for a while looking for forum posts or likewise on this subejct, but didn’t find anything specific to my problem.

I was just about to accept that I would have to spend £100+ on a new card when it crossed my mind to try the simplest thing possible. So, not really expecting anything to happen, I pushed the DVI cable from the monitor into the graphics card further and it went in about 5mm more. Along with this, all the lines were immediately gone, and the problem appears to be fixed.

This just goes to show that sometimes things can be fixed in much simpler ways than you initially expect!

We first saw Ostendo’s crazy CRVD monitor at CES 2008 with Alienware branding, and then again at Macworld 2009 with an NEC label, but it looks like those were just flirtations: the monster 2880 x 900 quad-DLP display has been quietly on sale directly from the mothership since late August. Ostendo tell us most of the units sold have been for defense simulation and training, but there are apparently some gamers out there hardcore enough to stomach the $6,499 price tag — including the crown prince of Dubai, who’s purchased “multiple units.” We’re also told that multi-monitor CRVD applications are forthcoming, which sounds insane — and is even wilder on video. Check it after the break.

Suunto t6c Heart Rate Monitor and Fitness Trainer Watch (Black) Review

I’ve been working out 6-7 days a week for the last 15 years without a break.

I’ve owned the T6c for about 9 months now and use it 6 days a week – cardio indoor, weightlifting, road biking, and outdoor running. By reviewing the data it collects during workouts I have been able to increase my fitness level. It’s given me new insight into my workouts and more importantly an objective set of metrics.

The only issue I have is that the comfort strap that came with it broke after only 6 months. The “clip” simply broke during a workout and checking the web, it seems to be a common problem. I replaced it with the memory strap in hopes that it will have better durability. So far, so good.

Training Effect function measures how hard your body is working

Training Manager PC software provides detailed analysis of training

Overview

Reaching your goals can be tough. It takes the right tools, knowledge, and guidance to improve with each training session. Enter the Suunto t6c heart rate monitor and fitness trainer watch, a professional-grade training tool for monitoring, analyzing, and optimizing your workouts. The t6c is equipped with a bundle of valuable features, but none is more valuable than its correspondence with the included Suunto Training Manager PC software, which provides a detailed analysis of seven physiological parameters with an accuracy previously available only in sports laboratories. This analysis breaks down nearly every aspect of your training, so you can make adjustments and train more efficiently in the future.

The t6c also tracks your real-time Training Effect, a quick and accurate measurement of how hard your body is working at any given moment. By knowing your Training Effect, you’ll enjoy a more intimate understanding of your body’s workout “sweet spot,” an essential tidbit if you want to achieve your targets without setting yourself back by under- or over-training. The Training Effect works intuitively: The watch first notes the info from your personal fitness profile, and then analyzes your physiological progress and translates the data into a simple one-to-five scale. For example, if you want to improve your aerobic fitness at a moderate tempo, you should exercise until your TE meter reads between 3.0 and 3.9, two to four times per week. To improve your aerobic condition more rapidly–but without the risk of over-training–you should push yourself harder once or twice per week, so your TE meter reads 4.0 to 4.9, with a few recovery sessions in the TE 1.0 to 2.0 range. The Training Effect is relative to each individual. While a novice runner might achieve a TE of 4.0 on a four-mile jog, a professional runner might have to complete an uphill marathon to get the same reading. In other words, both runners will have to exercise hard to achieve a TE of 4.0.

The t6c includes a couple of additional features that put it above and beyond traditional heart rate monitor watches. For example, the t6c gives you a readout of your excess post-exercise oxygen consumption level (EPOC), letting you measure and adjust your training loads to ensure that your body is safely getting the most from each workout. And users will love the built-in altimeter, which lets you monitor your climbing or hill performance to know how your body will react when training at various altitudes.

Finally, the Suunto t6c offers interference-free digital ANT transmission, making it easy to pair your heart rate monitor with the included Suunto comfort belt. You can also use this secure connection to monitor your speed, distance, or cadence by pairing your Suunto t6c with an optional Suunto training pod. Training pods are small units that attach to such items as a running shoe or a bike to calculate your speed, distance, and even pedal revolutions per minute while you exercise. Pods are ideal for athletes who aren’t satisfied with half-hearted training efforts, but really want to monitor their training routines down to the last detail.

About Suunto
Suunto was founded in 1936 by outdoors man and a keen orienteering enthusiast, Tuomas Vohlonen, who had long been bothered by a problem: the inaccuracy of traditional dry compasses and their lack of steady needle operation. Being an engineer with an inventive turn of mind, he discovered and patented the production method for a much steadier needle, better readings, and a new level of accuracy. By 1950 the company was exporting compasses to over 50 countries around the world, including Canada and the United States. In 1952, Helsinki was hosting the Olympic Games, and the torches carried to light the Olympic flame were Suunto products. The next step was improving the stability and accuracy of marine compasses. The first marine compass, the Suunto K-12, was launched onto the market in 1953. In 1957, Suunto started manufacturing hypsometers, which measure the height of trees.

In the 1960s, the compass range grew further and Suunto introduced its first diving compass–initiated by the divers themselves. A British sports diver attached a Suunto compass to his wrist and found that the device also worked underwater. Thanks to his feedback and initiatives, the new business category was found. Suunto’s exports and business grew steadily and Suunto then focused on combining its strength in precision mechanics with new skills in electronics. Accuracy, reliability, and ruggedness have been Suunto’s key values from the very beginning of the company history.

Today, Suunto is a leading designer and manufacturer of sports instruments for training, diving, mountaineering, hiking, skiing, sailing, and golf. True to its roots, Suunto is today the world’s biggest compass manufacturer. Prized for their design, accuracy and dependability, Suunto sports instruments combine the aesthetics and functionality of watches with sport-specific computers that help athletes at all levels analyze and improve performance. Headquartered in Vantaa, Finland, Suunto employs more than 500 people worldwide and distributes its products to nearly 60 countries. The company is a subsidiary of Helsinki-based Amer Sports Corporation with the sister brands Wilson, Salomon, Atomic, Precor, and Mavic.

Tips and Tricks Monitor and Maximize Your BlackBerry Smartphone Memory To get the most out of your

Tips and Tricks

Monitor and Maximize Your BlackBerry Smartphone Memory

To get the most out of your BlackBerry® smartphone, you’ll want to make sure you maximize your device’s flash memory (impacts how much data you can store) and battery life. [Flash memory is memory that can be electronically erased and reprogrammed, but does not need power to maintain the information stored on the chip.]

Read on for more tips on making sure your BlackBerry smartphone is always ready when you are:

Q: How do I see approximately how much flash memory my smartphone has?

On the Home screen, open Options.

Select Status.

The File Free field shows the approximate amount of available flash memory available for data. If you want to make sure that this value is as accurate as possible, restart the BlackBerry smartphone to initiate a full garbage collection. For instructions, click here.

The File Total field shows the amount of available flash memory after loading the wireless transceiver, operating system, and basic applications.

To see the approximate amount of occupied flash memory on the BlackBerry smartphone, complete the following steps.

On the Home screen, open Options.

Select Status.

Display the menu and select Database Sizes.

To read more about how your BlackBerry smartphone uses available memory and how the “Low Memory Manager” application works, click here.

Q: How do I maximize the free space on my BlackBerry smartphone?

By taking active measures to maximize the BlackBerry smartphone’s available flash memory, you can help to free up memory for regular operations:

Use a media card to store files like songs, pictures, videos, voice notes, and ring tones, or the pictures you take with the built-in cameras. To make sure the built-in camera is set up to save picture files on the media card, click here for instructions.

Remove unnecessary features and applications to increase the available flash memory on the BlackBerry smartphone. For instance, use the Setup Wizard application to remove languages that you do not use.

Minimize the number of contacts stored in the Address Book by using the remote address lookup feature when you need to send an email message rather than store company contacts in the Address Book (certain system requirements needed).

Delete old items – you can delete old and unused items and also adjust settings so that the BlackBerry smartphone deletes old items as part of its regular routine maintenance.

Delete Multimedia Messaging Service (MMS) messages that are no longer needed. Because MMS messages can contain large media files and cannot be stored on a media card, MMS messages can use a lot of flash memory. You can save the media files attached to an MMS message to a media card beforehand.

Change the Keep Appointments setting to reduce the number of old calendar events using flash memory.

Clear the browser cache often.

Adjust settings for optimal storage efficiency on your BlackBerry smartphone.

In BlackBerry® Desktop Software, set messages to stop being forwarded to the BlackBerry smartphone when it is cradled.

Flash memory is used to download and display email messages on the BlackBerry smartphone. Set the Auto More option to No to make sure that only the sections of the email message that you want to read on the BlackBerry smartphone are downloaded, displayed, and thus, stored in flash memory. By setting the Auto More option to No, the BlackBerry smartphone displays approximately the first 2 KB of an email message; you can display more of the email message by selecting More on the menu.

For BlackBerry smartphones running BlackBerry Smartphone Software 3.8 or 4.0, set the BlackBerry smartphone to allow content compression. Although content compression causes the BlackBerry smartphone to work harder (thus, using more battery power), it will make sure that email messages use the least amount of flash memory that is possible

Kecil-kecil, cabe rawit. Dengan bantuan suryakanta (kaca pembesar), citra diperbesar seolah-olah mata kita melihat sebuah gambar besar berukuran sekitar 30″. Hebat sekali.

Semogalah demikian, terimakasih pencipta mata bionik, terimakasih teknologi.

Benar?

Benar. Kalau sudah begini semua itu mungkin; yes, nothing is impossible. Produk IT seperti komputer, telepon genggam, kamera … nantinya seperti pakaian alias fesyen. Tinggal pakai. Hands free! Wireless! Wow.

Kita jadi wireless? Pakaian bisa terhubung ke internet? Wah, asyik juga. Nantilah kita lihat.

Mungkin e-RW-er (bace ‘ewer-ewer’, reader and writer)?

Soo all in all I am doing well and I thank God for doing the healing. Yes I went to the hospital and utilized the doctor’s and the wonders of modern technology but God is the one who directed the surgeons hand. God granted the specialist wisdom to treat my condition and prescribe the correct dosage of medication. God is holding back the side effects of the medications and allowing them to work as they claim they should. In the beginning of this sickness I said, “anyway you bless me Lord I will be satisfied”, guess what folks? I am…

This is not my X-Ray but if you look on the Patients left which is your right you will see the loop recorder it looks like a small rectangular box tucked right beside the heart. Pretty neat stuff huh or just TMI hahahaha? Ok folks that’s the end of your Grey’s Anatomy lesson for today!
