“I don’t care what Scott says,” muttered a male voice as they approached the light. “We don’t need this woman‘s help. Sorceress, witch, whatever she wants to call herself, we don‘t need the competition.”

Glory slowed her step as another, female, voice chastised the first. “Relax. She’s not here for artifacts. Scott says she’s some kind of monster hunter, that she even took on Tsathoggua.”

“Gah! You’re not supposed to say their names!” the first voice protested. “We have enough trouble with the thing down there without you calling up one of the Old Ones.”

“Yeah, yeah. It’s all a bit of superstitious mumbo jumbo if you ask me,” the woman retorted disgustedly. “There’s nothing that science can’t explain eventually. And a giant furry toad is either one of nature’s prehistoric experiments or a collective hallucination, even if a bunch of inbred idiots worship it.”

“I worry about you Sam,” her companion stated with exasperation. “You’re going to get yourself killed if you keep denying the power of the great Old Ones. A little skepticism is fine, but some things are impossible to rationalize away. I mean, how do you explain the draug?”

Glory coughed to announce her presence as the figures became visible at the true entrance to the tomb. Both jumped and turned in her direction, blinking into the darkness, perhaps wondering how long she’d been there or if she was the draug, sneaking up on them. A giant spotlight directed at the gaping hole in front of them couldn’t have been good for their night vision.

“H-hi!” the woman stuttered anxiously, coming forward to shake Glory’s hand. “You must be Glory. I’m Samantha and this is Gavin.”

Gavin looked Glory up and down before giving a little wave of his hand, obviously not impressed with what he saw. From his incredulous expression, he was even less impressed with Robert. “Not exactly the safest place to be bringing a kid,” he muttered sourly.

Robert hunched his shoulders, ducking behind Glory a little as they stepped into the light. “This is Robert,” Glory announced quietly, “my apprentice,” she added, though she had a feeling she might regret it later. Still, she felt him walk a little more confidently. “And I supposed the draug was inactive during the day or else I would have found you both above.”

“Yeah, it is,” Sam replied, giving Gavin an annoyed glare as he added resentfully, “The night crew gets to watch from a hotel that overlooks the site, but we get stuck down in here in the dark and cold. Lucky us.”

“Professor Scott didn’t tell me much about the draug, just that it had been abducting and killing people since the tomb was opened,” Glory said in a reasonable tone. Let them think I didn’t hear any of their conversation, she thought.

“Eating… It’s been eating people since the tomb was opened,” Gavin corrected, and Robert gulped noisily.

“But Professor Scott told me his nephew and others had been taken.” Glory replied.

“He told you that, huh?” Gavin sneered. “Well, Jake went down when the tomb was first opened and didn’t come back up, so I guess technically he was ‘taken.’”

“So the professor’s nephew was the first person in the tomb?” Glory asked with a frown. She let his emphasis on Jake’s disappearance slide. Maybe the professor knew more about the draug’s activities than Gavin and Sam and so knew of other missing people. She had a sinking feeling that Professor Scott was full of crap though.

“Yeah, does that mean something?” Sam queried.

Glory shrugged. “Probably nothing. It’s just interesting. And that was during the day or night?”

“The day of course,” Gavin replied as if she were an idiot. “Not that it matters what time of day it is down here, but it’d be pretty ridiculous to start examining a tomb as soon as the sun set.”

“It’s just curious that this thing only comes out at night, and you two are supposedly safe enough standing around in front of its tomb during the day, but Jake was taken while it was still daylight outside.”

Sam went white as a sheet. “Maybe we should go outside,” she whispered, beginning to shake.

Gavin gave the toppled stone door a contemptuous glare. “Don’t be stupid Sam. It was probably just hungry when Jake went in. It’s getting more than enough food now, that we don‘t have to worry about it during the day.”

Sam and Robert both looked ill. “Has anyone been in there since Jake disappeared?” Glory asked.

“Yeah, and there’s nothing in there. Lots of people have gone in and come out during the day,” Gavin replied, snatching up a flashlight from an open backpack on the floor, he tossed it to her. “Take a look if you want. The inside looks just like the door,” he explained, gesturing at the broken block of stone.

Glory approached, pausing to examine the door. The slab was several inches thick and had once covered one side of the entrance. It was neatly broken in two right down the center, and the pieces had fallen to either side of the hole. “Did anyone bother to translate this before it was broken?” Glory asked, gesturing at the runes which covered every inch of the stone’s surface.

“Yeah, I guess so,” Gavin answered indifferently. “We weren’t with the original team, but I assume they translated it or at least took pictures and rubbings.”

Glory scowled. So much for Professor Scott’s story about the construction people accidentally breaking into the tomb during their dig, though Gavin could always be assuming these things were done by the first crew to examine the tomb. It would have been nice if Professor Scott had given her the file to look over instead of pulling out random pictures. She had a feeling that there’d probably been more in the file than Scott had let on.

Satu yang menarik dari game ini juga adalah koleksi weapon dan armor yang bejibun banyaknya bisa mencapai 200 armor dan senjata, untuk ngedapetin armor dan weapon nya, kita ga asal beli aja tapi mesti ngumpulin item requirement nya, tentunya yang sulit adalah ngumpulin item-item itu,kita mesti ngebunuh monster2 tertentu, contoh klo mo dapetin armor Rathalos, tentu kita mesti bunuh rathalos dan dapetin item dari dia kayak rathalos plate, rathalos wing, rathalos webbing, Sangat menarik kan?

Stopped world of warcraft for roughly one and a half month ago. Although i miss the game more than any thing else except some mortal soul i fall in love somewhere, i’ve never look back ever since. Felt tempted for the for all the new changes in wow patch 3.3, i wish i can once again take hold of my greenish orc hunter again… I want to change a new weapon… i want to try out the new explosive trap, imagine, explosive trap + frosttrap…. hot & cold… enemy dancing in the midst of desperation… Sigh.. will not be able to do that at least for another one and a half month, i may as well wait till full of 3 months break before returning, then my brother can get a month of game time free courtesy of scroll of resurrection.

My friends convinced me to try out the new taiwan release of Monster Hunter frontier, supposedly online game played just like the console version. While waiting for its official induction, i’ve been scrambling in searching for guides and videos for monster hunter, seriously, i have totally no idea of what the heck is monster hunter. Ah ha, i found some video and wiki page about MH, ha, plenty of good video. Ha, found the Taiwan MH frontier homepage, the page background music damm annoying,

In MH, u have to choose on what types of weapon for usage, instinctively i’m not gonna play range any more, because my brother qq about me being bad in kitting (in wow), so seriously i think i gonna play some melee weapon for MH this time round. After some nightless consideration, i see Gunlances as something that i wanted to try. It look so cool, with the big lance and shield.

Gunlances, also known as GL, are long, piercing weapons with a mechanism inside which can fire a blank round. Unlike Bowguns, the Gunlance cannot fire over distances; the Shelling ability can only be used from close range. The use of the weapon is largely the same as the original Lance. Like ranged weapons, Gunlances take ammo. They are able to charge up, indicated by the radiating energy at the tip of the lance, and dish out a strong explosive attack referred to as Wyvern’s Fire. Need more time to learn about the game play of gunlances, there’s some good video on youtube by mxc5012, gonna watch them for more understand of the whole game play.

Obviously im in a little bit struggle with my love life there, my little love one in the middle of broking up with her boy friend and she probably need some time in healing her love wounds (seven years of couplelife). Currently reading Lone Drow (The Hunter’s blade trilogy) by RA Salvatore, pretty good book, in fact i suggest his book to all the fantasy genre lover out there.. love it, pretty much all his books, although sometimes do feel a bit boring with its excessive illustration of a fight, i am continuously amazed by  many of the element in his books.

Ha, again, have been watching quite a few tv drama’s recently Battlestar Galatica (Season 2 epi 5), Frindge (Season 1 epi 5) , Merlin (Season 1 epi 7), following Gossip girl (Season 3 epi 11), Lie to me (Season 2 epi 9), Prison break (Season 4 epi 24), The vampire diaries (Season 1 epi 10), Mentalist (Season 2 epi 9), the list keep growing, maybe i really need to change my lifestyle a bit in 2010, less spending time in the house and more spending time outdoor….

Ah,,,, almost forgot… Arsenal ftw… In arsene we trust… Just watch arsenal won over liverpool at Anfield yesterday night 1 – 2 with Arshavin scoring the decisive cannon, proven as the winner. I have no words to express my feelings, it is beyond amazed with the turnaround, 1- 0 down at half time and a win by end of the game… It is very impressive indeed. Cant wait to see who will arsene spend in the coming open of transfer window, really hope that he can buy some good solid player, with hope, a trophy this season is not a dream.

Gallery movies can be unlocked by encountering certain monsters, as well as doing certain things in the game.

The intro movies are the cutscenes you will see when you encounter a monster for the very first time.

At the beginning from the quest you will see a cut-scene

For all areas except tower this happens at the base camp.
For the tower intro you must head to Area 1 first to trigger the cut-scene.

If there’s one true thing about Monster Hunter, it’s that it was never meant to be played in single player. Single player’s manageable, but without help on the missions (I prefer not to take the Felynes offered in Unite, they Barrel-Bomb me more often than not are are more of a nuisance than an aid to me) it just feels like a chore somewhat to play…

at least that’s what I thought before I tried the multiplayer. And It got me hooked on the game. I was surprised to find a good 2 or 3 people in my college course already had it as well, so ad-hoc was never going to be a problem for me, and I finally killed my first solo Tigrex tonight, promoting me to HR3. Sure there’s no real end-game rewards (save better weapons and armour) and there’s nothing final to aim for, but maybe that’s the beauty of it. That you can play for nearly 100 hours and still not have seen even a quarter of the game.

Any other games out there that you feel fall into the same bracket? Endless timesinks with no limitations on storyline but great rewards for perseverance?

Also, da grad öfters, nach Großschwertern gesucht wird, und Großschwerter meine Lieblingswaffen sind, kommt hier ein Thread dazu.
Im Grunde kann man Großschwerter(GS ab jetzt) leicht beschreiben
1. Schwer
2. Groß
3. Großen Bumms

Hm….Stimmt soweit alles, wobei 3. aber am besten ist.
Grundlegende Attacken:
1. Mit den Dreieck, kann man aus dem laufen herraus einen Vertikalen Schlag starten.
Ist die waffe gezogen, führt man auch einen vertikalen Schlag aus, man holt aber erst aus, was länger dauert.

2. Mit der Kreistaste macht man einen schnellen Horizontalen Schlag, einmal um sich herum.

3. Dreieck+Kreis : Bei gezogener Waffe einen Schlag von vorne nach hinten. Nach einem solchem Schlag, sollte man am besten eine Attack nachsetzten(Dreieck oder Kreis), da es lange dauert, bis man wieder normal steht. Eine andere Form der verwendung ist, bei eingesteckter Waffe zu Rennen und dan Dreieck und Kreis zu drücken, wodurch ein Sofortblock aktiviert wird. Sehr nützlich^^

4. Gehört eigentlich zu 1. aber ich mach es extra, weil es extrem wichtig ist.
das AUFLAADEN!!!
Man halte die Dreiecktaste gedrückt, (egal ob auf den Rennen oder bei gezogener Waffe herraus), wodurch das GS nachhinten gehalten wird und aufgeldaen wird. Es gibt 3 Stufen der Aufladung. Welche Stufe man ist, sieht man daran, das der Bereich um die Hände kurz aufleuchtet, woran man erkennt, das die nächste Stufe erreich wird. Die 3. ist klar die stärkste Stufe.
Es gibt auf YouTube zB gute GS Charging Guides zu MHFU und MHF2.Es gibt dort auch ein Video, was das GS auch nochmal gut erklärt, wenn ich das finde, werde ich das hier nachliefern.

Follow this and you should be able to hunt in no time! (it worked for xs27-kun)

Remember to bring sufficient items to last for your long (yes, long) hunt.

Stamina increasing items
Paintball
Psychoserum
