As you may know every year The Linn County Fair tries to bring in a new grandstand event to the fair. Let’s look back and see what the new events have been in the past three years:

2007- Concert and Draft Horse Pull

2008- Stunt Car Drivers

2009- Chuckwagon Races and Garden Tractor Pull

Looking at the 2010 fair we are looking to fill the Sunday afternoon grandstand event and we want your opinion.

Ok, let’s take a look at this progression carefully.  I think everyone here remembers the show “Family Matters.”  And without question, everyone remembers Steve Urkel.  But some of us might have forgotten what type of car he drove.  Take a look at the first picture below…

Now, let’s take a look at the Smart Car…

I don’t think the creators of the Smart Car intended to steal the design of Steve Urkel’s car, but they definitely came pretty close.  Not only do we have this awful looking vehicle on the road that would provide as much protection as driving a golf cart would, but there is more.  Someone decided that this Smart Car was not enough.  They needed to go deeper, make it “better.”  So I give you the highly unanticipated…..Smart Car Monster Truck…

I don’t know what else to say.  Can this thing go faster than thirty miles per hour without tipping over?  This makes about as much sense as making a bathtub into a race car.  There are millions of gallons of gas being burned every day, our atmosphere is being destroyed, wars being fought for oil and families draining their bank accounts to fill their tanks.  But let’s not focus our efforts on developing realistic alternate fuel sources for cars.  No, let’s build a freaking Smart Car Monster Truck.  Thanks guys, you can check off “Worthless Crap” on your To Do list.

Countless transmissions, steering arms, universal joints, steering pumps, and other misc repairs are regular occurances.

But if you have any red on your neck whatsoever, it’s worth every penny.

Bien.. hoy hemos presentado dos vías, una de carácter más “felino” (primera idea) que relacionábamos con velocidad, sutileza, etc. y, completamente opuesto, (segunda idea) mostrar un aspecto rudo, fuerte, agresivo, pesado.. en definitiva, más bestia!

Realmente la primera idea estaba bien, pero defiendo mucho más la segunda, después de analizar el terreno creo que nos conviene mucho más un vehículo fuerte, resistente, apto para superar cualquier adversidad, etc. Estará basado en los monster truck (idea que considero super interesante!).

Ahora bien xD, yo precisamente no lo relacionaría con un rinoceronte, no sé.. opto más por la apariencia de un OSO, me parece mucho más atractivo visualmente, a la hora de crear la estética.. y también por sus valores.. siendo un animal enorme, no deja de lado su agilidad y no da esa sensación de “pesadez” y de “no poderse mover” xD.. al menos mi opinión..

De esta manera, también, podríamos mantener el efecto de la garra, el cual encuentro realmente interesante, no es que sea de ideas fijas.. pro cuando creo en algo y me parece bueno.. lo defiendo al máximo, sin cerrarme a otras propuestas por supuesto está, pero.. me gusta está! xD

Tener como símbolo una huella, un rastro de rueda.. no me convence en absoluto, no me da ese aspecto de rudeza, fuerza.. la zarpada que, en este caso, ocasionaría el oso.. sería misteriosa, temida, agresiva, fuerte.. pero a su vez, sutil, etc.

No pienso que por escoger este estilo más fuerte, duro.. tengamos que mostrar un vehículo con efecto barro o por el estilo.. siempre he pensado que es muy buena la combinación.. y el vehículo de negro o gris presentando nuestra bestia (el oso) quedaría muy atractivo.. más el efecto de la zarpa, el nombre del equipo.. y algunos detalles más “americanos” que queramos incluir.. pero como base, optaría por esto.

Quiero opiniones que le estoy dando muchas vueltas!

El que deia…

A partir dels 2 mod boards que han crat la Silvia P. i el Carlos, queda clar els sentiments que volem trasmetre, encara que nomes ens hem de decantar per un d’ells, ja que ( com diu en Gabriele Schiavon) els mod boards son esquizofrenics i/o bipolars i entre  ells hi cap qualsevol cosa.

Ens hem decantat mes per la part ruda, forta etc. Monster truck, rinoceront, americanada, tons terra, rudesa etc…

Ara be, hem decidit buscar-li una “banda sonora” per ambientar mes el que volem ser, i aquest es la meva aportació al so que em recorda mes a tots aquest aspectes.

Bien.. primero de todo perdonad que he estado un poco ausente estos días, ahora pasaré a opinar un poquito las ideas comentadas y a decir alguna que otra.. haber que os parecen!

Principalmente, queremos aparentar (y ser) una serie de adjetivos con los que nos sentimos identificados, con los que queremos que la escudería represente. Tenemos muy claro, todos, la idea de fuerza, resistencia, agresividad.. combinando con ideas de agilidad, ligereza, velocidad.. más sutiles.

Por ello,  la semana pasada predominaba la idea de relacionarnos con un animal, ya que éste respondía a todas las características que nosotros queríamos aparentar y ser. Escogimos un felino porque es fuerte, resistente, agresivo, rápido, ligero, sigiloso.. etc. Todo ello lo simbolizábamos con la “garra”, creaba ese carácter agresivo, fuerte, misterioso.. y, claro está, la precede un animal.

Personalmente, es una primera idea, la cual yo considero muy correctamente construida y eficaz. Ahora bien, al comentarlo en clase con los profesores.. se nos comento que nos habíamos centrado mucho en una idea concreta y que nos iría bien tener más opciones. Las tenemos xD y quiero comentarlas :p

Primero de todo, la idea del rayo, relámpago.. líneas de luz que expresen la velocidad.. etc. lo encuentro muy atractivo, pero creo entonces que sobra el relacionarlo también con un animal, ya nos relacionamos con un aspecto de la naturaleza, la verdad muy potente.. también decir, que nos relacionamos con estos aspectos porque nos sentimos identificados por los adjetivos que lo definen, no por la necesidad de relacionarnos con algo para que nos represente, por eso creo que si siguiéramos con esta idea.. sería con esta simplemente y dejar de lado el “mundo animal”..

Segundo xd, la idea de basarnos en un MONSTER TRUCK me apasiona, nos conviene por el terreno al que nos tenemos que enfrentar, pero (siempre hay un pero xd) siguiendo este camino.. yo, sin duda alguna, persisto la idea de que nos relacionemos con un animal ya que tiene aspectos que nos caracterizan mejor: rudeza, fuerza, agresividad, resistencia.. y el símbolo de la garra nos definiría al 100×100, sería misterioso (la garra indica “algo” feroz, agresivo, peligroso.. pero no sabemos bien bien el que!) además, es muy bueno tener una imagen para que todo el mundo te reconozca nada más verla, es un aspecto de visualización. Así, la marca monster energy es perfecta! (también todo lo que ella representa).

Es una idea que nos conviene más por el terreno al que nos enfrentamos y, además, no considero tan importante la característica de “velocidad” ya que en esta cursa no importan los tiempos sino el llegar a meta. Es más importante resistir, ser fuerte, superar las adversidades sin problemas.. más que la rapidez.. = 4×4.

Comentando pues las tonalidades.. para el blog, ficha, etc.. me gustan las cálidas que tenemos, dan más confianza, más acogedoras.. en cambio, para crear nuestro andrómina, pienso que tonalidades más frías, más distantes, duras.. nos funcionarían bien, ya que no le damos tanta importancia al aspecto de la velocidad a la hora de crear el orni, aun y así con las tonalidades más frías damos una sensación más ligera, etc.

Es bueno combinar un carácter cálido con un carácter frío, por una parte representamos confianza, acogemos.. pero por otra somos distantes, fríos, duros.. según nos convenga y esto aplicarlo como nos parezca a todo lo que tengamos que diseñar, es decir, esto nos interesa cálido, esto nos interesa frío.. pero esto cálido, esto frío.. nos permite más juego, disponemos de muchas más opciones.

Buscando información sobre historia de la competición etc, es bueno el relacionarnos con la cultura romana, ya que eran muy fríos de pensamiento, tenían objetivos claros, luchaban por sobrevivir, eran resistentes, fuertes, agresivos.. intervenían con animales en sus luchas.. ya fuese contra ellos o con ellos.. es decir, si nuestra escudería se basará en lo que he comentado anteriormente, estaría muy relacionado, claro ésta, tan solo de concepto, nosotros crearíamos la versión moderna.

>Con versión moderna me refiero a utilizar materiales nuevos, tecnologías, tonalidades frías, formas más futuristas.. en definitiva, hacer lo nuevo sobre una base antigua. Simplemente, estamos EVOLUCIONANDO..

Its fall, and my most favorite time of the year because its State Fair of Texas time. I’m not 100% sure where my love and obsession with the fair started, but I really dig it. So much that I have this like season pass and have already been twice AND saw .38 Special. Oh yeah, and I saw ‘Blue Thunder’. For those of you who do NOT know thats monster truckness.  Which despite the intense 95 degree Texas weather was good times. Manana will make that thrice :] Its going to be a tattoo studioS outing, which I always find enjoyable. I’m sure there will be intoxicated tweeting and twitpics.  I’ve just been playing around with new looks on my site, I’m kind of diggin the new serial killer look that’s going on. Theres been a new polaroid up of me fresh from the bath. Perhaps there should be a new polaroid link on the side bar here as well?? Oh and there is a new recorded cam session for those of you who keep missing them. I’m really sorry to those who have credit, but seem to miss me by minutes. It’s a little longer then all of the other clips that are up.

It feels like its been forever since I could just sit down and write a blog with clean code. Where all the pictures and my rambling were nicely aligned, but it seems I’m pulling that off tonight. Still not sure how though? I had a fan page on facebook that got deleted some time ago. So I made an official FaceBook page. Some peoples were asking on twitter so I figured I’d letcha know. If this seems like a fraction of a blog it totally was. I attempted to write a full blog, then life got in the way. I was going to finish it this morning, but headed straight to work. Before I left I saw on old bottle of Flowerbomb on my sink and put some on. I forgot how happy that smell makes me, I def NEED to get more. Then I ended up tattooing a FACE! So perhaps later on I can give my blog more of the attention it needs. I’m really not diggin the layout at the moment :/
