Here’s two video previews of lighter songs with the full album for download below.  Take a moment to check the vids out (they’re only about a minute apiece.) The longer songs get pretty far out with the composition and effects Tomita uses.  I really can’t get enough of early Moog electronic music…especially pieces with a quirky Japanese twist.

I love that spacey other-worldliness sound of the Moog oscillator. So weird…and powerful.

Jedna z kilku rzeczy, które zrobiły na mnie ostatnio naprawdę duże wrażenie. Okolice 1967. Za dwa lata ludzie wylądują na Księżycu. Amerykański inżynier Bob Moog, po dziesięciu latach pracy, kończy syntezator, wyprodukowany specjalnie dla austriackiego imigranta Maxa Brand’a – kompozytora. Miałem okazję słyszeć kilka brzmień tego urządzenia, na tegorocznej edycji Ars Electronica. Jakieś trzydzieści sekund. Pomimo upływu ponad czterdziestu lat, wciąż brzmi jak zabytek.

Yup! 250 jingles! And they’re pretty cool too. Lot’s of close harmony, some jokes, they’ve used a sonovox here and there and some moog too. Just listen to the clip below to get an idea.

Moog Music and reKon audio have announced the release of the VST Little Phatty Editor,

Created by reKon audio, the VST Little Phatty Editor is a VSTi format software application that provides full control and editing of Little Phatty presets and performance controls via MIDI from within your VST compatible host application. This allows total management of custom sounds directly within the user’s sequencing and music production environment. The following actions are supported :

• Full editing of all Little Phatty preset parameters via MIDI CC messages
• Automation of all LP parameters in real time through the VST host application
• Save/Load presets to and from the Little Phatty
• Presets can be saved in VST Editor format

VST Little Phatty Editor is available for Windows and Mac OS X in the VST instrument plug-in format. It is available directly from Moog Music for $69.

This 1980 record (once owned by someone called Berry, according to the sticker in the topleft corner ^-^ ) is produced by the brothers Ray and Chris Anderson and holds, like the title says, 100 short jingles created with a sonovox accompanied by some cheesy moog shots. It all sounds rather amateuristic and the recordings could’ve used some de-essing, but, that crappiness is what makes the record even more fun!

A már az MR2-Petőfi Rádióban is hallható ‘When I See You’ klipje a második a Razzmatazz Orfeum című ugyancsak második Moog-albumhoz. A rendező az az amerikai Anthony Ernest Garth, aki rendezett már klipet a White Stripes, az Electric Six és a Von Bondies számára is. A klip egy patinás Los Angeles-i bábszínházban, a Bob Baker Marionett Theaterben került leforgatásra. Íme:

Can’t believe this blog has reached it’s third month of existence without yet mentioning German keyboard legend Klaus Wunderlich. I have a couple of older relatives (one of whom is himself a semi-pro organist) who revere Klaus as some sort of God. The thing you have to realise is that this guy set a benchmark for technical excellence (both as performer and engineer) which, to the best of my knowledge, has yet to be equalled, let alone surpassed.

Of course, not all of Klaus’ albums are equal. I generally look out for the original German issues on the Telefunken label. And, although he is best known as an organist, Klaus also dabbled with a giant Moog modular synthesiser, most notably on the Sound 2000 series, but also on this one called (deep breath) ‘Uraltedelschulzensynthesizergags’, which also clearly demonstrates Klaus’ natural technical abilities as he expertly wields the patch cords, coaxing all manner of strange tones from the Moog, proving not only his mastery of the instrument, but also a roving creative spirit far in advance of any other artist in this field.

And the synthesized bird-calls on “Canari-Cha-Cha” would probably even impress my bird-song loving colleague.

after learning more about mixing techniques and trying out a lot of different things, i mixed this song in a more direct way, meaning that i tried to push the sounds more. using less effects, making it more simple and effective and louder! the beat has been expanded by some strongly compressed vocal beats.
perhaps there are some ambient sounds missing in the background that connect the different parts with each other better and make the song seem bigger. the ambients don’t necessarily need to be heard in a conscious way but to be felt. further there’s one more sound missing at the end of the song, which needs to be recorded again.

Emerson, Lake & Palmer

Emerson, Lake & Palmer es en opinión de Ricardo Fernández Barrueco una de las bandas con más talento de toda la historia del rock.

El grupo fue formado en 1970 por el teclista Keith Emerson, el bajista, guitarrista y cantante Greg Lake y el batería Carl Palmer. Inicialmente iba a llamarse HELP, pues incluiría en sus filas a Jimi Hendrix, pero su muerte en septiembre de 1970, truncó el proyecto.

Emerson provenía del grupo The Nice, que ya había tenido éxito en la onda progresiva con «Rondo». Greg Lake participó como bajista y vocalista en los dos primeros álbumes de King Crimson, y Carl Palmer fue batería de Atomic Rooster.

El grupo gozó de cierto éxito a inicios de la década del setenta, ganando varios discos de oro en los Estados Unidos e Inglaterra, y se generaron varias imitaciones, como el grupo alemán Triumvirat, argumenta Ricardo Fernández Barrueco. Episode #4: Odds & Ends

A behind-the-scenes look at the Koala Fires in the studio, recording their debut full-length album. In this episode, we see some of the leftover bits that were added at the end of recording, including baritone saxophone, clapping, Moog and tambourine slaps.
