Moon is in Aquarius: there’s a chill in the air to offset the dreamy Sun Neptune conjucntion, the Sun now in Pisces. Talk about dramatic! To enter your sign and crash into one of the biggies! But it’s a soft crash, a gauzy crash, the crash of the Mystic and the escape artist. Houdini would be proud of an aspect like this!

And what about this Aquarius Moon? Thinking before feeling? Thinking instead of feeling? Not necessarily. The Moon is what you need to feel secure. The Moon in Aquarius needs freedom to feel secure, to feel at home.

The Moon in Aquarius squares Jupiter in Taurus now, a fixed freaky square but we like the Moon and we like Jupiter so the only thing to fear is emotional (Moon) excess (Jupiter) itself which I think will check itself because Taurus goes slow and the Aqua Moon is gonna hold back, hold in.

I have a friend, whose Moon is in Pisces. She is very sensitive, she can sense other people’s tension and often she is in chaos because of being unable to figure out what are her feelings. The point of this placement is that it is hard to draw a line between one’s feelings and the feelings of others.

It may lead one to pursue a life for the approval of others` sake. I guess feeling the contentment of his parents can drive a gifted pianist to find a job in a bank. Being placed in the sign of Pisces it asks for a clear way to confront the Neptunian image – only by becoming blind will you be able to see everything. Letting go of others first, then letting go of self, is the path that is going to fulfill this Moon.

Jupiter in Gemini is very mental, it urges a person to develop his mental abilities. Given a choice between a dropping out and going to university, a Jupiter in Gemini will choose the one that is going to advance his way of thinking.

When they are in a hard aspect, the usual tension of goals occurs. At one point the person may represent the Moon in the aspect – a sensitive sea of feeling being harshly pulled by thoughts.  A peaceful pond being disturbed by a thrown stone. (The way it goes depends on house placement)

Or one could choose to represent the highly intelligent Jupiter, with this placement probably a scientist, who will be loath to confront his incredible sensitivity. He would have to choose work before his real life, because work will be the thing that gives him the most pleasure. Thinking and discussing is the activity, that bring glitter to the eyes of a Gemini Jupiter.

Moon square Jupiter in this context denotes a tension between mental and sensitive growth. One will pull and the other will give in. Then they will switch roles, and the latter will have to give in. This will result in emotional and mental tension, a block, that would lead to mood swings.

How is one to overcome this and achieve balance?

The only way I see is through the sign placements, they both have the mutable modality. Therefore they are both adaptive to changes, they can confront variety, they are both dual and sometimes out of focus.

So maybe, the goal here is to react to outside circumstances.

1.  Learn to concentrate. For the emotions this means to discern self from others. For the mind this means to find a focus and target to follow.

2. React to circumstances, confront changes, be the one to change. When you are presented with a challenge let both the feeling and the mind react to it, don’t be afraid. Use your mind to analyze your fears and use your feelings to gain trust in yourself.

Maybe in this context, it would be nice to remember The Alchemist by Paulo Coelho. There the boy Santiago talks with his heart for the first time in the desert. His heart tells him about all his fears, about his irrationality, about his love.  Santiago asks his heart to trust him and so he finds peace.
