Especially in the sex business.

City leaders report that business is brisk in the sex trade, and that evenings mean big bucks, as many global warmers, politicians and civil servants are reported to have availed themselves of the city’s prostitutes.

““We’ve been extremely busy. Politicians also need to relax after a long day,” says ‘Miss Dina’, herself a prostitute.”

Perhaps this is the kind of capitalism that the socialists approve of. Or, maybe after screwing over the public through the cap and trade tax plan, the Goremons need some time to unwind.

from MercatorNet:

Lock up your baby prams and strollers, or at least don’t take them out in the daylight hours. Children are, according to one United Nations agency, the new enemy of climate change.

The latest report from the United Nations Population Fund was released on Wednesday at news conferences in Ottawa and other key venues where policy makers could be made aware of the news: more babies will undermine attempts to stop climate change.

Strangely, much of the news conference, like the material put out by the Population Fund, was taken up with detailing the ways the world’s leading population control agency works to combat maternal deaths and serious complications from childbirth, both admirable goals. Yet the crux of the report is that, while we need to save those who do give birth, we need fewer of them. In the eyes of the UNFPA, it is the babies of maternity wards present and future that are the culprits in climate change: “Each birth results not only in the emissions attributable to that person in his or her lifetime, but also the emissions of all his or her descendants.”

Before world leaders head to Copenhagen to try and hammer out a deal on climate change, UNFPA wants them to consider population growth as a contributing factor to be dealt with. Its report says: “No human is genuinely ‘carbon neutral,’ especially when all greenhouse gases are figured into the equation. Therefore, everyone is part of the problem, so everyone must be part of the solution in some way. The world’s Governments and peoples will need to work together on every aspect of the factors that increase greenhouse-gas emissions. One such factor is the earth’s growing population.”

Silly me; I thought that people of the world working together was the cause of population growth.

Seriously, though, the simplicity of the logic behind this report might win you over. If people are causing climate change and we wish to stop it, then we should have fewer people on the planet.

According to a report prepared for Britain’s Optimum Population Trust, spending just $7 on basic family planning would reduce carbon dioxide emissions by one tonne, while achieving the same reduction by using alternative low carbon energy sources would cost $32. Again, this makes sense; who wouldn’t want to save $25 and avoid having to look at an unsightly wind turbine if all it will take is mailing boxes of Durex to the third world?

It’s a theme advanced by some very powerful people, including Jonathon Porritt, an advisor to prime ministers, Prince Charles, and Tim Flannery, the Australian scientist who not only backs reducing Australia’s population, but also recently let slip that the Copenhagen negotiations are not really about climate change.

Yet the logic is fundamentally flawed.

The UNFPA study suggesting a greater family planning effort to prevent future children from being born and therefore reduce carbon emissions, actually shows that unplanned pregnancies are higher in Western industrialized countries. It says:

“Rates of unintended pregnancies are actually higher in the industrialized countries than in the developing ones, according to the Guttmacher Institute, which studies the phenomenon in both blocs. In Europe, Australia, Canada, Japan, New Zealand and the United States, an average of 41 per cent of all pregnancies are unintended. In the developing countries, an estimated 35 per cent of pregnancies are unintended.”

I can’t speak for all of those developing countries, but I can say that in Canada, young people can hardly ride the bus or head out to a bar to meet their friends without being confronted with “family planning” messages and often have access to free contraceptives if they are at university. Yet despite all of this, the rate of unintended pregnancies — the type the report hopes to reduce in a bid to fight climate change — is higher where there is greater access to basic family planning. The facts do not support the hypothesis, but the report goes on: “Preventing unintended pregnancies could contribute to population stabilization in the long run and may in turn contribute to a reduction in greenhouse-gas emissions in the future.”

Then there is the problem of emission levels. The report admits that the populations a family planning program would target — the developing nations — emit far less greenhouse gases than people living in, say, Kansas. So if someone living in a little village outside of Nairobi emits a sliver of a fraction of the amount their cousin in Topeka emits, why would the Population Fund target the Kenyans instead of the Americans with their family planning model? It’s an important question, but one the report dances past, simply stating that the carbon footprint of the one billion poorest people in the world is 3 per cent of the global total, and since climate change will impact the poor of the world most severely we should have fewer of them.

Well, okay; the report does not actually say, “Let’s have fewer poor Africans”, which would be a noble goal if it meant lifting Africans out of poverty; but the report does say the poorest countries who contribute the least to carbon emissions should be the target of the family planning model for dealing with climate change. Ergo, the United Nations thinks one solution to climate change is fewer poor Africans. Not very enlightened now, is it?

There is another problem with the idea that sending condoms and other family planning paraphernalia into the developing world will reduce the population in the way that well-meaning Western researchers think it will. Simply this: it hasn’t worked with AIDS.

When Pope Benedict came out against condoms as the way to prevent AIDS in Africa saying their use would only make the situation worse, the reaction was swift. The leader of the Catholic Church was condemned as someone who was out of touch and driven by agenda. Yet who should leap to the pope’s defence, but Dr. Edward Green, director of Harvard’s HIV Prevention Research Project. Dr. Green’s research found that in areas where access to condoms was more prevalent the incidence of HIV infection was also higher.

Not a fan of the condom and AIDS example? Consider then how well Britain’s aggressive plan to reduce teen pregnancy has fared. Despite having family planning education throughout the school curriculum, teen pregnancy rates in Britain are the highest in Western Europe. According to a report in The Daily Telegraph, teen pregnancy rates in Britain have risen by one-third over the last decade.

The UNFPA report promises solutions that don’t work for a problem that doesn’t exist. If the organization truly believed that having fewer people was a solution to climate change, it would be advocating getting rid of those pesky people commuting into Topeka, Kansas or Ottawa or any of the many North American towns surrounded by suburbs with massive carbon footprints. That idea however, is not an easy sell to the donor countries that support the UNFPA. If you want to understand why the report puts forth the solutions it does, you need to follow the money. As for those illicit prams and strollers, keep them out of sight lest the climate police coming snooping for surplus children.

I told you that some would try to marginalize this and it has already started.

Michael E. Mann, who directs the Earth System Science Center at Pennsylvania State University, said in a telephone interview from Paris that skeptics are “taking these words totally out of context to make something trivial appear nefarious.”

Michael Mann, if you recall, is the one responsible for the nefarious and controversial hockey stick graph. Of course, global warming alarmist try to discredit the very real evidence against the graph by attaching the word “myth” to the argument, while simultaneously refusing to address the complaints of skeptics. I like to refer to it as, “The Art of Stigma“. If you can attach a stigma to any issue you can avoid debate and stifle the voices of your detractors. It’s like using the race card.

In a New York Times article Mann is quoted, once again, trying to downplay the relevance of the breach.

In a 1999 e-mail exchange about charts showing climate patterns over the last two millenniums, Phil Jones, a longtime climate researcher at the East Anglia Climate Research Unit, said he had used a “trick” employed by another scientist, Michael Mann, to “hide the decline” in temperatures.

Dr. Mann, a professor at Pennsylvania State University, confirmed in an interview that the e-mail message was real. He said the choice of words by his colleague was poor but noted that scientists often used the word “trick” to refer to a good way to solve a problem, “and not something secret.”

Well I guess that would hinge on what is meant by, “solving a problem”. If by solving a problem he means correcting errant data then fine, but he doesn’t have a great track regarding that. I believe he meant solving the problem of embarrassing data as opposed to errant data. It is a sentiment shared in some of the hacked e-mails. Remember this part?

Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:

The fact is that we can’t account for the lack of warming at the moment and it is a travesty that we can’t. The CERES data published in the August BAMS 09 supplement on 2008 shows there should be even more warming: but the data are surely wrong. Our observing system is inadequate.

Suppression of evidence:

Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?

Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.

Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.

We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.

Sound familiar? That aside, I suppose CRU’s statement to, “assure this never happens again” is all about openness and transparency. Clearly not secretive. Yeah, I’ve seen this movie somewhere and I know how it ends.

The Times article continues with Mann’s defense of Voodoo science:

At issue were sets of data, both employed in two studies. One data set showed long-term temperature effects on tree rings; the other, thermometer readings for the past 100 years.

Through the last century, tree rings and thermometers show a consistent rise in temperature until 1960, when some tree rings, for unknown reasons, no longer show that rise, while the thermometers continue to do so until the present.

Dr. Mann explained that the reliability of the tree-ring data was called into question, so they were no longer used to track temperature fluctuations. But he said dropping the use of the tree rings was never something that was hidden, and had been in the scientific literature for more than a decade. “It sounds incriminating, but when you look at what you’re talking about, there’s nothing there,” Dr. Mann said.

In addition, other independent but indirect measurements of temperature fluctuations in the studies broadly agreed with the thermometer data showing rising temperatures.

Dr. Jones, writing in an e-mail message, declined to be interviewed.

This is a prime example of the scientists using only the data that supports their theories and refusing to acknowledge, even going so far as to hide, data that does not. Mann admits it in this article, but tries to trivialize the significance of engaging in censorship science.

More denial of reality:

Stephen McIntyre, a blogger who on his Web site, climateaudit.org, has for years been challenging data used to chart climate patterns, and who came in for heated criticism in some e-mail messages, called the revelations “quite breathtaking.”

But several scientists whose names appear in the e-mail messages said they merely revealed that scientists were human, and did nothing to undercut the body of research on global warming. “Science doesn’t work because we’re all nice,” said Gavin A. Schmidt, a climatologist at NASA whose e-mail exchanges with colleagues over a variety of climate studies were in the cache. “Newton may have been an ass, but the theory of gravity still works.”

Gavin Schmidt just tried to detract from this event by proclaiming that not all scientists are nice guys. This goes back to what I said about “refusing to address the complaints of other skeptics”. In no way does the attitude of scientists diminish the content of these e-mails.

You see, Gavin, the difference between you and Newton is his theories are sound and beyond reproach. They can be demonstrated easily and are proven by reality. His theories are simple and to the point, not a duct taped patchwork of uncorrelated graph data, woven together by editing out that which is inconvenient. Skeptics want you to prove them wrong. Skeptics are skeptical because they desire real unaltered knowledge. They are a fickle bunch. They see a problem — an inconsistency — and they want it solved, not swept under the rug.

All this reminds me of a few historical figures I learned about in my school days. Several men over the centuries dared to question accepted science. They were often chastised and ridiculed for their beliefs. Some were killed for it, others were exonerated, though only long after their deaths. They were brave men who dared say man was not the center of everything. They had the gall to believe that there are things in this existence that are far larger than humanity. Things that lend no compassion nor contempt to pitiful little creatures like us. You see men like Copernicus, Galileo and Bruno dared stand against the might of the Vatican. They are born only once a generation and have the capacity to see issues, not as scientists, but as realists — as skeptics.

So here we are, full circle, poised to repeat history. We have our own Galileos and Brunos, threatened with violence for having the nerve to question accepted science of our new religion — the boldness to act contrary to the mandated narrative our New York Vatican has imposed with their elite group of Cardinals. And yet again, we have those who believe humans are the center of the universe and that whatever happens, human were the only reason for it. The more things change, the more they stay the same, I guess.

In the end, we are faced with a simple choice. Will we continue to make the same mistakes of our past or will we choose to heed the lessons of our predecessors?

from Apostasy Watch:

We received this email recently from a friend of the ministry

You mentioned the TBN praise-a-thon and I have to tell you this story of direction from the Lord. I was flipping through the channels and saw Paul Crouch. He had one of his people holding a miniature model of a satellite he had purchased and was asking for more money to buy more satellites. Here’s the strange thing about the whole scenario. He said to the group and the TV audience

“I’m reading from Zechariah 5:1 and 2. 1 I looked up again and saw a flying scroll. 2 “What do you see?” the angel asked me. “A flying scroll,” I replied. “It’s 30 feet long and 15 feet wide.”. Paul said let me tell you people something, this satellite I’m sending into space is 30 feet long and 15 feet wide, the space shuttles cargo bay has enough room to fit two of these satellites to send up into space to circle the earth for the word of God….give the Lord a great sound of praise.

I tell you Steve at that very moment I felt the need or the Lord told me to read Zechariah 5, I thought to myself, wait a second I know about this scroll in Zechariah and it’s not good,

Zechariah 5:1-4 NLT
I looked up again and saw a scroll flying through the air. “What do you see?” the angel asked. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied. “It appears to be about thirty feet long and fifteen feet wide.” Then he said to me, “This scroll contains the curse that is going out over the entire land. One side says that those who steal will be banished from the land; the other side says that those who swear falsely will be banished from the land. And this is what the LORD Almighty says: I am sending this curse into the house of every thief and into the house of everyone who swears falsely by my name. And my curse will remain in that house until it is completely destroyed–even its timbers and stones.”

I believe the Lord was describing Paul’s satellite, I believe that the prophecy that was being given from the Lord through Zechariah was for this very day. I could be wrong, but it seems to me to ring so true. Could I be wrong?

Wayne C

I suppose the most shocking thing about this is the fact that Crouch would use the first two verses in reference to his TBN satellites yet ignore the very next verse which says the flying scroll is a curse sent by the Lord. That tells me that Paul Crouch is either a.) illiterate, b.) willfully blind, or c.) purposely deceiving his audience for financial gain. I suspect the latter. It seems too that Crouch has successfully deceived his partners for so long that he’s not the least bit worried that one of them might actually open a Bible and read this passage for themselves. What do you think? Could this be an example of that strong delusion God promised to send upon those who refuse the truth.

2Thess 2:10-12
…………….because they did not receive the love of the truth, that they might be saved. And for this reason God will send them strong delusion, that they should believe the lie, that they all may be damned who did not believe the truth but had pleasure in unrighteousness.

Here we have a bunch of people who claim to be ‘born again Christians’ and they are so blind they can’t even see the truth when it’s right in front of them. This level of blindness can only be God sent. You see I don’t condemn anyone. Their own words condemn them.

Mat 12:37
For by thy words thou shalt be justified, and by thy words thou shalt be condemned.

Thank you Paul Crouch for admitting with your own mouth that TBN spreads a curse over the whole earth. Now hear the word of the Lord to you and all who follow TBN.

That curse has entered the house of all who receive it. All of you who swear falsely by the name of the Lord by practicing heretical doctrines like ’seed faith giving’. You who think that your self righteous efforts are pleasing to God. You who are covetous of the riches of this world, you are thieves at heart just like the TBN prophets to whom you submit. All of those who follow TBN are under the curse and that curse will remain in your house until you and your family are destroyed unless you repent.

Isaiah 29:10-13
For the LORD hath poured out upon you the spirit of deep sleep, and hath closed your eyes: the prophets and your rulers, the seers hath he covered. And the vision of all is become unto you as the words of a book that is sealed, which [men] deliver to one that is learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I cannot; for it [is] sealed: And the book is delivered to him that is not learned, saying, Read this, I pray thee: and he saith, I am not learned. Wherefore the Lord said, Forasmuch as this people draw near [me] with their mouth, and with their lips do honour me, but have removed their heart far from me, and their fear toward me is taught by the precept of men:

Mark 7:6-7
He answered and said to them, “Well did Isaiah prophesy of you hypocrites, as it is written: ‘This people honors Me with [their] lips, But their heart is far from Me. And in vain they worship Me, Teaching [as] doctrines the commandments of men.’

The jig is about up for the global warming hoax. The Climactic Research Unit of the University of East Anglia has been hacked into, and its emails have been released to the public. Watt’s Up With That offers some examples of what the academics paid to play along with this farcical swindle say to each other when they think the public can’t hear them. Here’s a gem:

I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline. Mike’s series got the annual land and marine values while the other two got April-Sept for NH land N of 20N. The latter two are real for 1999, while the estimate for 1999 for NH combined is +0.44C wrt 61-90.

Apparently even climate scientists have noticed that it’s been getting colder, not warmer; that’s why they have to fudge the numbers.

At least some of these people have a conscience:

I’m not too comfortable with this, and would rather not sign — at least not without some real time to think it through and debate the issue. It is unprecedented and political, and that worries me.

This is kind of hilarious, if you ask me. It still is even if you don’t. First, NASA had to amend errant temperature data, now this. Apparently, some computers at the University of East Anglia’s Climate Research Unit were hacked and some e-mails and documents were placed on the internet. Some of the more incriminating text seems to indicate that data was tampered with and there may have been an effort to marginalize or discredit dissenting scientists.

From James Delingpole’s blog:

Manipulation of evidence:

I’ve just completed Mike’s Nature trick of adding in the real temps to each series for the last 20 years (ie from 1981 onwards) amd from 1961 for Keith’s to hide the decline.

Private doubts about whether the world really is heating up:

Suppression of evidence:

Can you delete any emails you may have had with Keith re AR4?

Keith will do likewise. He’s not in at the moment – minor family crisis.

Can you also email Gene and get him to do the same? I don’t have his new email address.

We will be getting Caspar to do likewise.

Fantasies of violence against prominent Climate Sceptic scientists:

Next
time I see Pat Michaels at a scientific meeting, I’ll be tempted to beat
the crap out of him. Very tempted.

Attempts to disguise the inconvenient truth of the Medieval Warm Period (MWP):

……Phil and I have recently submitted a paper using about a dozen NH records that fit this category, and many of which are available nearly 2K back–I think that trying to adopt a timeframe of 2K, rather than the usual 1K, addresses a good earlier point that Peck made w/ regard to the memo, that it would be nice to try to “contain” the putative “MWP”, even if we don’t yet have a hemispheric mean reconstruction available that far back….

And, perhaps most reprehensibly, a long series of communications discussing how best to squeeze dissenting scientists out of the peer review process. How, in other words, to create a scientific climate in which anyone who disagrees with AGW can be written off as a crank, whose views do not have a scrap of authority.

“This was the danger of always criticising the skeptics for not publishing in the “peer-reviewed literature”. Obviously, they found a solution to that–take over a journal! So what do we do about this? I think we have to stop considering “Climate Research” as a legitimate peer-reviewed journal. Perhaps we should encourage our colleagues in the climate research community to no longer submit to, or cite papers in, this journal. We would also need to consider what we tell or request of our more reasonable colleagues who currently sit on the editorial board…What do others think?”

“I will be emailing the journal to tell them I’m having nothing more to do with it until they rid themselves of this troublesome editor.”“It results from this journal having a number of editors. The responsible one for this is a well-known skeptic in NZ. He has let a few papers through by Michaels and Gray in the past. I’ve had words with Hans von Storch about this, but got nowhere. Another thing to discuss in Nice !”

I can’t tell you how big this is. I am sure some will try to dismiss this and/or claim it isn’t real. I imagine the worthless mainstream media will ignore this and you won’t hear about it except on conservative sites, except the few liberal bloggers who will try to marginalize it.

from Canada Free Press: I’m not very good at being hustled and rushed into insane situations. I like

from Canada Free Press:

I’m not very good at being hustled and rushed into insane situations. I like to think for myself. Which is why I originally began to investigate the fast-rising green movement. Only a while ago, greenies were people with woollen hats, gumboots and long hair. They hugged trees, drooled over flowers, and generally messed about on the very edge of polite society. They were on the fringe, like weird cults and folks who love to be frightened by conspiracies.

Now, in the space of less than a decade, these same weird people have become the major, if not only, force driving society in every country in the West, though what they say is really insane and off the wall! Why is this? Why have the inmates taken over the asylum? And why do people follow?

Green Hotels

For the past few years I have enjoyed a sideline, writing about hotels and tourism destinations for the industry. I quickly found out that hotels were suddenly ‘going green’ and wondered what was going on. I discovered that hotels, always watching the bottom-line, latched-on to the green movement immediately following the release of Al Gore’s infamous film, ‘An Inconvenient Truth’.

At the same time, the UK and US governments were harassing citizens to ‘act fast’, ‘do it now’ before ‘it is too late’! Suspicious, I began to look deeper. I used to teach research methodology; and now my whole day is spent on research. That is how I recognised the tell-take signs of propaganda. What I was hearing wasn’t science, but pseudo-science. The words gave it all away… general terms of supposed certainty were built upon guesswork and absurdity. Indeed, what was being said was so absurd, I could not believe that intelligent leaders of industry or thinking people could possibly fall for the hype. But they did, big time.

It was more profitable for hotels to rebuild their premises along ‘green’ lines, at a cost of millions, than to remain as they were, giving good service. Now, the same hotels, riding on the wave of green, rake in massive money just for pretending to be environmentally friendly. If the next fashion turned out to be the exact opposite, the hotels would change again, because they care about profit, not green.

But, it is going well beyond mere profiteering. Now, supposedly ‘green’ hotels will not do business with suppliers who do not themselves become green. Hotels and suppliers must now pass a pseudo-test to obtain a licence proving they have reached green standards… like teenagers who do something stupid to become a member of an insignificant gang. And people who have been duped by environmentalism pay big bucks to stay at these havens of Gaia.

No, I am not quite telling the truth – most people who follow the green mantra do it because it is the latest ‘in thing’; it is fashionable to ‘save the planet’ even when they know nothing about what green is talking about. (In my book, I relate how two famed TV magicians sent a girl to a greenie festival. She got attendees, and even the organiser, to sign a petition against an awful liquid found everywhere on the planet. What they signed was a petition to get rid of ordinary water, but it was disguised by its scientific name! That’s how much greenies know about their own movement! The event was filmed – follow the link in the book – it is hilarious).

When I pointed out that when hotels go green they are not environmentalists at all, but simply practising good management, the dogs of war were unleashed and irate greenists wanted my articles to be erased from all of humanity for all time! The underbelly of green is fascist, you see. And even the best of scientists simply assume green ‘science’ is genuine, without checking the facts; lemmings chasing lemmings.

What’s Going On?

That was just the start. I never give in to threats and blackmail, and decided to do more research, this time on a wider scale. That was when the really interesting stuff came out!

As far as the public is concerned a number of things are going on that have no apparent link. The trouble is, they are ALL linked. For example, the so-called ‘credit crunch’ came along, when banks failed. At the same time, costs of electricity, natural gas, and oil rose dramatically. At the beginning of this year, my household gas and electricity bill shot up to over £600 for just three months. The bill before that was just over £100! Same supplier, same energy. Plenty of oil, coal and gas in the ground, with no shortages!

Blame for bank failures was put on the shoulders of banks themselves. This was fair… but how many people know why the banks got to that position? (No, I’m not talking about those TV programs that came up with superficial answers). We know bankers are greedy and unscrupulous… but that isn’t why they failed.

Both the Democrats in the USA and the Labour Party in Britain are outright socialistic. So are most governments in Europe, and that is how the EU gets its own way. Obama is the epitome of Marxist pride. So, his running-mates, Gordon Brown, Tony Blair (egged-on by the French tin-pot dictator, Sarkozy), are well suited to each other. Each is a consummate liar intent on ruining their respective countries. The one thing that alerted me to all three’s danger to the public is their glaringly obvious arrogance. It comes from knowing they will get away with it, because a great lumbering socialist machine is behind their every move. . . . . . .

Although we often think of those outside our borders as the enemy, the insurgents in Afghanistan who plant IED’s in the hopes of killing our soldiers, or the foreign jihadis who fight a religious war against the west, some of the most effective enemies exist right here within our borders. These people refer to themselves as anti-war activists, or anti-racists, or social justice activists; but really their goals are all very similar. They are people like Naomi Klein, socialist anarchists who use any means necessary to undermine our success as a nation, and the prominence of western civilization’s accomplishments.

Harsha Walia, one of these “feminist, anti racist, migrant justice, Palestine solidarity, Indigenous self-determination, anti capitalist, anti poverty” activists, penned a piece about Remembrance Day in the Vancouver Sun. Only it wasn’t about Remembrance Day, which she writes is symbolic of those who are “most eager to create a steady flow of the dead to remember”, but about all of the other days of the year that should be memorialized for those who have suffered and died due to human and corporate greed, our military wars and occupations, our man-made poverty and, let us not forget, that ubiquitous environmental devastation.

Indeed, according to Ms.Walia, Remembrance Day and war memorials in general, tend to be sites of political and national mobilization, designed to manipulate you, the hapless patriotic Canadian, to conceptualize past memories of warfare and our war dead, in order to direct current wars and future military conflicts. Do you understand that logic? When you bestow a wreath at the grave of your fallen grandfather, you are enabling and perpetuating the western military-industrial complex, something which is anathema to the modern pseudo-leftwing movement and their self-despising existence within our borders.

Ironically, of course, it was the left who once saw fit to rise up against fascism in Europe in the twenties and thirties; leftists who went to Spain to fight in the Civil War. It was the left who saw the importance of an alliance with the military powers of the west, and the corporate assembly plants that provided a mechanized Army to fight the Nazis. When faced with the peril of annihilation by fascism, the socialists rallied the working class toward supporting our government and our troops in that battle against the enemy.

Today’s so-called leftists, however, have never faced the peril of an enemy that threatens the planet. So comfortable are they within the free societies created by the men and women and fought and died for their luxurious existence, that they take the one day that we spare to give honour to them, and manipulate it into some kind of odious political revolt against our “militaristic” leadership.

Ms.Walia’s objection to our flag-waving, respect for the uniforms, our traditional military songs, and patriotic tributes to our fallen soldiers, is to me a sign of a subculture that is rotting our society from the inside out. Paradoxically rejecting the very things which allow them to stand free men and women and criticize our civilization for having the wherewithal to fight and vanquish the Nazi enemy. These modern revisionists, who cast our soldiers today as villains in the international game of neocolonialism:

But again this is not about Remembrance Day. Today, I am haunted by the faces of those who are being slaughtered and murdered by ‘our boys’ in Afghanistan. The day after Remembrance Day, after we underscore the seemingly unique sacrifice of veterans and selectively grieve for them, where is the indignation and sorrow for the daily dead of Afghanistan? Where is our recognition – let alone remembrance – of the soaring number of deaths in a country where, just in the past six months alone, over 2000 people have been killed. According to figures by the UN Assistance Mission to Afghanistan, civilian death in Afghanistan have soared by 24% during the first half of 2009 compared with same period last year.

The rhetoric of the above paragraph is chilling in it’s choice of words. Our soldiers in Afghanistan are “slaughtering” and “murdering” Afghans. Why, we’re little more than an extension of the white Christian Armies sent forth to continue our Crusade against jihad, in the words of Elizabeth May, modern conquistadors against the enemies of Jesus Christ.

Why Ms.Walia even takes an opportunity to snipe at former Afghani MP Malalai Joya, considered the bravest woman in Afghanistan, by characterizing her resistance against the misogynistic murderous Taliban as validating the “perpetuating policies of death, violence, and destruction?” Truly, the modern feminist movement has allied itself with some very strange bedfellows when it considers the Taliban an acceptable compromise to the “racist” civilizations which occupy Afghanistan.

We are “narcissists” for remembering our fallen war dead. We are “self-righteous freedom-lovers and democracy-promoters” for asking people like Ms.Walia to take one day to respect, with sincerity, those who gave their lives because they truly believed it had to be done to guarantee our future as a nation. Alas, all she can dwell on are our “murderous” soldiers in Afghanistan and how we interned the Japanese during the second world war.

As though it weren’t ridiculous enough, she finishes by condemning our nation as one that is based on the illegal expropriation of indigenous lands. One can scarcely be blamed for wondering whether Ms.Walia did not realize she resides in this occupied territory, and whether she intends to leave all of us Christian Crusader racists to go and live in a setting more comfortable to her notions of social justice. Bahrain perhaps?

What do they teach kids in school these days? This is the face of the modern leftwing movement, and this is their ideology in a nutshell. This utterly paradoxical anarchic rejection of everything this country stands for, or has stood for, in the entirety of it’s history, including it’s very existence. The enemy exists within. And given their proximity to us, I’d say they’re more dangerous than the radicals we fight 10,000 kilometres away.

Mark Collins: “There is ideology. There is ideological madness. Then there is simple sanity. Of which the dear lady is clearly deficient.”
