When I first saw the new STONE SHEILD CTR RINGS I had to look at them over and over again to see if there were three letters somewhere engraved on the stone. There isn’t. It’s just the shield in stone. I guess you can say the act of choosing the right is deep inside all of us and that’s where the CTR is somewhere in this ring. I just think it looks kinda cool. It looks like the type of CTR Ring that Superman would wear. I can see it going well with tights and a cape. I guess it would go well with jeans and a tee shirt also. It isn’t the traditional CTR Ring, but I guess it doesn’t have to be traditional to be good. What do you think?

Alegro CTR Ring

The LDS Online Market Place is very competitive and really a small market overall. There are LDS Online Stores everywhere and more coming every day. You’d think that because of the economy there would be a shortage, but it seems to have gotten larger.

It’s true some small businesses have closed their doors, but in their place other’s have come forth.

So the other day when I was instructing a customer to type in our web address: www.buylds.com She typed it in on the google search bar. Pages came. LDS Online Stores that offered LDS Products.

Part of me wonders how in the world a little store like mine will be able to make it. But the other part is grateful for people out there putting things on the web that push all of the negative anit-mormon messages down in the search engines.

So I issue a challenge. Every LDS person out there. Blog or write an article once a week about something positive that has to do with being a member of the Church. There are millions of us. If less than 100 online stores can impact the internet like they do, imagine what the millions of members can do.

LDS Romance Fiction follows the same pattern as Non-LDS Romance. Boy meets girl. Boy likes girl. Girl isn’t so sure about boy. Boy tries to convince girl even though he’s put himself in a really bad situation and he looks like a jerk. Girl still likes boy but still has her doubts and leaves him in the dust. Boy grows up a little bit. They meet later and ……. well it works out sometimes. I think the trick is to like the characters along the way.

I liked the characters in this book, I liked the book. It was cute and well written. I only buy books that I feel comfortable having all of my daughters read. When I get a new book, one of my daughters will take it before I can even read it. When my seventeen year old and I were talking about what she would like to do with her life, she told me she would love to be like some of the people in this book and have the ability to help others anonymously. It was her best bet at being a real live super hero. So this book may be classified as a cute tame romance novel, but it also has the ability to inspire people to do good things.

My family and I were driving down to the Hopi and Navajo Indian Reservations in Arizona last December. We were part of the Hopi Outreach Christmas effort. During the first or second weekend in December, Hopi Outreach and Angel’s in Action bring down semi loads full of clothes, blankets, furniture, food, toys, blankets and many many people. One special person that comes, is Santa himself. (I married Santa 22 years ago).

This is a wonderful event and teaches our children raging in age from 5-20 many important things about what Christmas is and how to serve. But the 10 hour drive there and back can be less than a teaching experience. So this time I got a few books on cd. This was one of them. My children were quiet the whole time, all of them. They listened and were edified the whole time. My husband who usually doesn’t like to listen to what the girls do on the radio and cd player listened intently and blinked back tears a few times.

We also had a young man whose a friend of our family drive his brothers car and accompany us. He’s been struggling with understanding about the death of his grandfather and why his life doesn’t always seem fair. I told him he had to listen to this on the way home. There were things on that cd that were answers to prayers for him to hear. His life was blessed by it.

Read the book and keep it close at hand for a ready resource. I don’t only recommend this book, it should be required reading. I know I like to review items and compare them to food, but this book is more like water when you’re really thirsty.

The book can be bought as a paper back for as little as 9.78. An LDS Online Bookstore can get it to you right away.

It’s actually funny. It also made me cry. I really like this book. It is one of the few LDS Fiction Books I would classify as a truffle. You know that feeling you get when you bite into a really good truffle? My favorite is the Utah Truffle Bars. I like the mint flavor the best. This book is a mint truffle. It’s mind candy like most light romantic novels, but this one is smooth and good.

I bought my first one and then all my girls read it. They then lent it out to a few friends. I had to buy a second. If I don’t find it in the next few days I’ll be forced to buy another and not let my kids read it. We’ve all read it a few times and still like re-reading it.

I buy a lot of these kid of books because I want to have a library of fun easy read books that fill the romance novel need that me and my girls have. If you go to the public library you have to sift through the ripped bodice bare-chested section to find something. If you don’t choose wisely it can be really bad.

I liked this book. It was cute and funny. I think for young girls like my daughters who underestimate themselves it was good for them to read. Unlike many of the books published and sold in LDS Bookstores, this one didn’t talk about being LDS or any of that. It did manage to be cute have a good message and provide a few “Awwwwwww moments” as I read.

My daughters liked it too. And since what you put in your mind is food for the soul I would rate this book with pretzels. You know how you just keep reaching your hand in the bag for a few more? It isn’t overly sweet and sappy and it’s a good snack that doesn’t leave you feeling like you’ve had to much of a good or bad thing.

I would recommend this book. Add it to your library, but don’t loose track of it. I still can’t find my copy. I think my seventeen year old has it somewhere.

This wonderful LDS Book by Elder Robert D. Hales helps us all to remember about where we want to return to and how to get there. Just like the Biography of President Monson, this is no mind candy book. It’s a book with some meat to it. Like that Sunday dinner with home-made fried chicken and mashed potatoes. It will do you good and leave you full.

Others have written:

This book is incredible! This book is for every age, for every leader in any capacity in the church, for the youth, for parents, for you! It gives you questions to ponder at the end of each short chapter, and it is such an easy read. It makes you feel good and helps you want to do better all at the same time. Thank you Elder Hales for this wonderful book!

As I read, the Spirit showed me ways principles Elder Hales shared applied to my life even if they were in sections that I didn’t fit into. It reminded me of the open canon of scripture: the Spirit helps us learn exactly what we need most right now from particular messages, even if it’s not the same as what others need. I don’t generally mark books, but I certainly did this one, making sure I could find messages that struck me again, and gave a copy immediately to someone very close to me. This has messages valuable to everyone. Thank you, Elder Hales!

One of the newest books available at our LDS Online Bookstore, is “The W.O.W. Diet “. I will be looking at that book when planning our families meals too. It’s not so much that we need to be losing weight as much as taking better care of ourselves and eating right. A description of the book is as follows:

When science failed her, Michelle Snow turned to world religions to teach her the dietary principles, proven through the centuries, that finally freed her from a life of digestive misery. Now she offers her findings to you in this unique volume that will teach you a brand new approach to food and help you to naturally lose weight, stay healthy, and enjoy life.
If losing weight is one of your New Year’s resolutions, why not look to religion as a guide? That’s what Michelle Snow did – and it worked.Salt Lake Tribune
Last summer, my friend Amanda and I had a craving for Whoopie Pies from our favorite bakery. That we decided to indulge our cravings was a surprise, considering we?ve both had major eating disorders in the past. But we could not resist the bakery?s siren song. Sadly, the bakery was out of Whoopie Pies. Dejected, we skulked out. That?s when Amanda turned to me and whimpered, ?God thinks we?re fat.

==============================================

The Lord has given us so much, but I don’t think he wants us to indulge all the time, he wants us to learn to manage our abundance and share with others. If I spent less money on candy and junk food, could I manage to put in another $5.00 in fast offerings? Ponder on that. I will.

For dinner tonight we will be having the following:

chilled pears

chilled peaches

sliced and peeled apples

toast with butter (cinimon/sugar)

And if there are some carrots/celery or other finger veggatables in the fridge I’ll add them as well with some ranch dressing.

If I have it all set out on trays and in bowls, it will seem like a regular meal. I also need to check and see if we have some yogurt.

I’m trying not to go to the store and just use what I have in my pantry. Everytime I go to the store it costs. I need to go back to the once a week shopping with my husband.

The LDS Product most of us are always looking for, is one that makes more money than it costs. That spinning wheel that turns straw into gold is around here somewhere, but I can never find it.

On one of our LDS Online Stores there is an affiliate program. Since the website was developed by a partner, I didn’t know it had an affiliate program. I’ve since done some exploring and found out not only does it have an affiliate program, but there are affiliates and I owe a couple of them some money. – Just in case one of them reads this- The check is in the mail. Really.

So, I’ve signed up as an affiliate myself a few times and am trying to work it so that I know what I need to do to serve the affiliates. The BuyLDS Affiliate Program will be paying out one check for over $74.00 today. If anyone is interested in tryinging out the affiliate program, just go to our LDS Online Store. You scroll to the bottom of the page and click on the words “Become an Affiliate”. That’s where you sign up. If you don’t hear back in 24 hours about your approval, contact us via this blog, or at chris@1on1.net . I’m hoping this LDS Product is a good one.

I get a lot of people who call to ask the difference between Bonded Leather set of LDS Scriptures and Genuine Leather set of LDS Scriptures. The LDS Quad, LDS Triple and the Bible all come in these different forms. Both versions are found in our LDS Online Store and so I know, it’s a valid question, so let me explain.

The inside of the scriptures are the same reguardless of the outside leather. They use the same materials on the inside. It’s the same quality and the same stitching. They use the same glue. Everything on the inside is the same.

The only difference between the two is the quality of leather on the outside. The Bonded leather is a leather pulp that’s pressed much like plywood to form a sheet of leather. That is then used as the covering for the book. The genuine leather is a thin sheet of leather thats cut to cover the book. The bonded leather is made up of pretty much the same as the other, but my daughters do say they like that smell the genuine leather has.

Both are wonderful in quality. The Genuine Leather Quad, Triple or Bible are a little more expensive, because of the leather difference.
