10. The Departed

It was a pretty good decade for crime films. Collateral, Public Enemies and American Gangster really brought crime films back to the fore front. Yet, Martin Scorsese’s American classic stands above them all. Why? Great performances from Mark Wahlberg, Matt Damon, Alec Baldwin, and Leonardo Dicaprio sure help. Also, the complex story and a surprisingly emotional and funny script put the icing on the cake.

9. Wall-E

Hey, I had to put one Pixar film on this list right? And, while a case could be made for almost any of Pixar’s films, this is why Wall-E was the best. It made people care about a robot. It was heart warming, funny, and one of the most imaginative films of the decade.

8. Kill Bill Vol. 1 and 2

I’m counting these because they essentially one film. And Quentin Tarantino’s fusion of the world’s storytelling methods was one of the most entertaining films I’ve ever seen. With some of the most kick-ass action scenes ever put on screen, and a performance by Uma Thurman that should have garnered more attention than it did, Kill Bill was, arguably, the best action film of the decade.

7. Almost Famous

I have to admit, I’m a little biased on this film. Being an aspiring journalist, I would have liked nothing more than to travel with a band for Rolling Stone. Oh well, I can dream. But dreams aside, this was an entertaining and on the point film that was one of the surprises of the decade (for me at least).

6. Slumdog Millionaire

Danny Boyle’s feel good story of overcoming great odds was a phenomenon and with good reason. It was funny, exciting, tense, and at the end of the day, you left the theater feeling happy, something everyone needs these days. This is Boyle’s best film to date and had everyone singing “Jai Ho”.

5. Children of Men

Featuring Clive Owen’s best performance, Children of Men was one of the most thrilling films I’ve ever seen. Featuring an interesting premise, I was on the edge of my seat for the entire film. It’s bleak look at the future may have been too depressing for some, but I enjoyed every minute of it.

4. Pan’s Labyrinth

Guillermo Del Toro’s haunting masterpiece was easily the best foreign film of the decade. A fairy tale for grown ups, the film was down right scary and took the audience on an emotional roller coaster. Like any perfect fairy tale, you immediately want to experience its power as soon as it’s over.

3. Once

The Irish musical is the best musical ever made. Ditching the Hollywood’s style of over the top musical numbers, Once had real, subtle and emotional songs that didn’t feel out of place. Featuring two of the best performances of the decade, Once’s raw emotional power that is both heart wrenchingly sad, yet hopeful, makes this a must see for anyone.

2. The Matrix Reloaded/Revolutions

I know, I know. Lots of people didn’t like the Matrix: Reloaded. And it seemed like EVERYONE hated the Matrix: Revolutions. However, the sci-fi epic is still one of my favorite films of all time. Reloaded raised the bar on action films. The action scenes were THE best. The car chase scene was an instant classic. And the siege of zion used every bit of technology available at the time. I found Revolutions emotional, and Reloaded just had that “cool” factor going for it. So while people may hate on Neo and company, Neo, Morpheus and Trinity will always have a special place for me.

1. Avatar

Try as I might to justify not to put this as the top film of the decade, there’s no way I couldn’t put it. It is not just a movie, it’s an experience. It’s more epic than Lord of the Rings, has special effects that makes EVERY movie ever made look second rate and is well acted and directed. What more could you want from James Cameron?

If you’re in the US, here’s hoping you had a lovely Thanksgiving.  This summary is almost certainly incomplete as I’m filing it before departing for Michigan on Thursday.  But unless Brangelina announce a Thanksgiving Day adoption surprise, that’s probably not the end of the world.

Just in case you’re traveling, here’s the planes, trains and automobiles take on baby naming:

• Renault is calling its new electric car the Zoé.  According to the Daily Mail, this has resulted in quite the flap in France, where Zoé is a top twenty name for girls.  Parents have started online petitions; Renault says it is sticking by the name;
• I’m not familiar with the site, but Targana is reporting that a woman gave birth on a train and named her son Lalu – after politician and former Minister of Railways Lalu Prasad Yadav;
• And just to complete the trifecta, the baby named AirAsia after arriving aboard an Air Asia flight has been gifted with free flights for life.

In honor of Thanksgiving, Nameberry posted on Tom – as in turkey.  Thomas wears quite well on a little boy, and is the name of a dear friend of ours, too.  But ’round our house, Thomas is a train.

This blog post proves that some dads are really into baby names.  (Arthur, are you reading?)  The couple came up with four interesting choices.  Their daughters are Rica Emmanuele and Nadine Ysabele; their two sons are Joseph Leonele and Andre Ezekiele.  It almost makes me hope they’re planning on a fifth so I can see a shortlist of possibles!

The following is an excerpt from an actual conversation between Conrad Noir and Marco Sparks last night. Yes, this is what they’re really like…

Marco Sparks: So, you’ll never believe this dream I had the other night…

Conrad Noir: I don’t know if I’m really up for a conversation about your hopes and dreams, man.

Marco: Well, when I say “dream,” what I really mean is sweaty, dread-dripping nightmare.

Conrad: Oh yeah? Shit. Nevermind. You know I’m all ears for that. Shoot.

Marco: Well, I’ll tell you about the nightmare in a second, but first let me tell you about my Saturday night…

Conrad: Always a catch, isn’t there? Shit. Okay, tell me about your Saturday ni-

Marco: It was awesome. But then, later on, I was just trying to go sleep, right? And it’s late, I don’t remember the time, but late. So I turn on the TV and put it on mute, just wanting some flickering light and alpha wave manipulation in the room. Or something.

Conrad: Sure, sure. Perfectly normal.

Marco: So then I lay down on the bed. The room I’m in though, there’s no remote. Or, if there is, fuck if I know where it is.

Conrad: Oh, yeah, man’s constant struggle.

Marco: Right, so I’m stuck with whatever the channel is because, well, I’m lazy.

Conrad: I feel that.

Marco: In this particular case, it was A&E. The former Arts & Entertainment channel.

Conrad: “Former” being the operative word.

Marco: Seriously. Airing that late evening/early morning was a seeming non stop marathon of CSI: Miami episodes.

Conrad: Wow. Ouch.

Marco: Ouch is right. And let me tell you, I could not sleep with that on.

Conrad: How do you mean?

Marco: Every five seconds they cut back to a shot of David Caruso! Constantly! And let me tell you, Caruso has two emotional speeds on that show. The first: Putting on his sunglasses. The second: Taking them off again. People could be on fire, running around screaming, bits of their skin melting off or whatever as creatures of the apocalypse commit homicides or devour souls or just what have you, and Caruso’s cool as Fonzie the whole fucking time.

Conrad: That seems accurate with the little bits of it I’ve caught occasionally.

Marco: Also, it’s freakishly bright. Like, too bright and dayglo for even Miami.

Conrad: Okay.

Marco: It would not let me sleep! I turned over, looked at the flickering light patterns on the wall, like some kind of twisted variation on Plato’s Cave and I felt like Caruso was picking me up from the airport and driving me straight to madness!

Conrad: Caruso’s like that.

Marco: This is the guy from NYPD Blue to subjected America to his ass. Why would you want to see this man’s ass?!

Conrad: Or Dennis Franz for that matter.

Marco: Well… obviously. But, so I lay there, squeezing my eyes shut. But it was no good, man. I knew that Caruso was in the room with me. Putting his fucking sunglasses on. Or worse.

Conrad: Worse?

Marco: He could’ve been taking them off again…

Conrad: Okay, so this was the nightmare?

Marco: Oh, no, this was real. Deadly real. Eventually I must’ve passed out from all the stress of his ontological torture and when I woke up, of course, A&E was still on, right?

Conrad: Yeah, of course.

Marco: So, the sun is shining through the window, birds are chirping little songs and I’m a little tired, but I’m breathing a sigh of relief. I’m all like, “Thank God, it’s morning, I made it. I survived!”

Conrad: This is going somewhere bad, isn’t it?

Marco: You bet your goofy ass it is, my friend. Because there on the TV…

Conrad: Yeah?

Marco: Motherfucking Chris Daughtry was on the TV. Somebody was actually interviewing him!

Conrad: Ugh. Gross.

Marco: Exactly! Why would anyone want to interview that fucker? Why is he on the TV? Why did my day have to start with these violent images? It was like… last night I couldn’t enter the domain of sleep and now… Now I can’t be awake with this in the world!

Conrad: I feel like I need a drink now.

Marco: Me too. From just, you know, reliving that traumatic experience. From being the plaything of the sandman.

Conrad: So what was the nightmare?

Marco: Oh, the nightmare. Yeah, sorry. That was last night. I was like in a room, but I wasn’t. I was like “the camera” or whatever. Anyway, there was a little boy and he was trapped in the room. No windows, yet there was moonlight slipping around. And he was sleeping like a little shit does and then goblins crawled out of the cracks in the walls and out from under the bed and cut off his eyelids or something.

Conrad: Damn. I like that. I mean, that’s seriously creepy.

Marco: Yeah, it was something. When I woke up, I knew you’d love it.

Conrad: You were right. And goblins, you say? Wow. Goblins. That part is especially wild. People don’t throw around the word “goblins” all that much anymore.

Marco: Let me tell you something about goblins, my friend. Something you may not know. Something very few people may actually know.

Conrad: Do it.

Marco: Goblins, man. They’re no joke. They’re fucking scary, and they’re fucked up. And they will fuck you up. You understand me?

Conrad: Yes, I believe I do. But let’s talk about something important now. Let’s talk about me and my dreams. And my nightmares.

Marco: Take aim and fire away, baby.

Conrad: So, you know, I’ve been taking melatonin a lot lately, right?

Marco: Cause you can’t get your hands on ambien, right?

Conrad: Yeah, sorta. I got tricked into trying to go all natural, which is a sham. Whenever in doubt, just go with hard drugs.

Marco: Put that on a t-shirt.

Conrad: Don’t tempt me.

Marco: But I feel you. I have several friends who don’t realize they’re becoming recreational vicodin addicts, which is cool, cause this is America and shit. But I can’t do that stuff anymore. It gives me freaky nightmares. I mean, genuinely freaky nightmares. Like, where the goblins show up and tell me I’ll have erectile dysfunction for the rest of my life and or will be forever locked in a mortgage I can’t afford.

Conrad: As long as you’re not longer dreaming about Avril Lavigne, you’ll be fine.

Marco: I’ll have you know: That was a very special time in my life.

Conrad: Anyway… me. And my nightmare.

Marco: Do it.

Conrad: So, I guess you’re supposed to take melatonin only so much, right? Until it stirs up your… well, I don’t know. Something. Some kind of chemical. I’m not a trained doctor or anything. But you take it short term, you get some rest, you move on.

Marco: Gotcha.

Conrad: But I keep taking it because it gives me juicy nightmares. And I’m a horror movie fan.

Marco: I remember that you were a Freddy guy more than a Jason guy.

Conrad: Exactly! Anyway, so the one I had last night… Wowza.

Marco: Oh?

Conrad: Oh yeah. So I’m like wandering around in this fucked up, dark version of Chuck E. Cheese’s, right?

Marco: This already sounds terrifying.

Conrad: Oh, it was. Believe you me. It so was. And there’s all these fat, sweaty white people around me.

Marco: Your ultimate nightmare.

Conrad: My ultimate daymare, you mean. But there they are. And there’s famous gross white people there too. Like Jeffrey Dahmer.

Marco: I remember that Peanut used to date a guy who looked like Jeffrey Dahmer. Man, I hated that guy.

Conrad: Me too. Well, Dahmer, anyway. But he was the guy who, later on I discovered, didn’t belong in the dream. But there was other famous people too. Like Mary Kay Letourneau. And Roman Polanski. And Joey Buttafuoco. And Debra Lafave. And Pete Townshend. And Bobby Fisher. And Gary Glitter!

Marco: Oh shit. You were at a child molester convention!

Conrad: Exactly. By accident, of course. Once I realized what was going on, I was like, “Oh shit, I gotta get the fuck outta here!”

Marco: Shit. I hope so.

Conrad: So I take off for the door, right? But right as I get to it, I notice the little bulletin board listing who all the speakers are going to be at this thing.

Marco: So, it was like a proper convention then? With speakers and talks and things?

Conrad: Yes! Terrifying, right?

Marco: Very.

Conrad: So I’m running my finger down the board, just looking at all the famous names. I remember that R. Kelly was on there, of course.

Marco: Right. Yeah. “Age ain’t nothing but a number,” after all.

Conrad: And then I get to the end. The keynote speaker.

Marco: Ooh, this is going to be good, isn’t it? Who was it?

Conrad: I’m not bullshitting you here. It was Jon Gosselin.

Marco: Oh… wow.

Conrad: I know, right?

Marco: Yeah. Wow. Eeesh.

Conrad: But, whereas everyone else had their name and like a title of what their speech was going to be about or whatever, after his name… there was just one word. One single word.

Marco: What was it?

Conrad: It was simply… “Gangsta.”

Marco: Oh. My.

Conrad: Uh huh. It shocked me away. And I sat there, in my bed, just catching my breath from the sheer intensity of the thing. And I just whispered it back to myself. “Gangsta.”

Marco: Wow…

Conrad: Yeah, I know.

Marco: Yeah.

Conrad: Yeah.

Marco: Yeah, uh… let’s talk about something else, okay?

Morpheus of the Military Industrial Complex: John Allen Muhammad

MUHAMMAD & THE NUREMBERG CLUE

The final appeals of John Allen Williams are over. Virginia Gov. Timothy M. Kaine has denied his attorney’s petition for clemency He is scheduled to be executed this day, November 11, 2009, the day before Veterans Day. He is scheduled to go to the death chamber at Greensville Correctional Center at 9 p.m. ET, and by the time of this posting he will be dead by lethal injection.

Just as in the case of other Classic Manchurian Candidates of color, Sirhan Sirhan, Ewell Lee Danielly, Wayne Chenault, and Sebron Flenaugh, Jr., Muhammad probably suffered the same mental breakdown (politically opportune amnesia) as to events proximate and during the DC sniping ncidents of October 2002. Even in this disassociate mental condition; Sirhan Sirhan was able to leave clues to his possible programmers.

By his own hand, Sirhan programmer is generally assumed to have been programmed by MK-ULTRA U.S. Air Force consultant William Bryant Jennings III. Jennings was a hypnotist who worked with the CIA and was famously a consultant on the film version of The Manchurian Candidate. Jennings’ infamous clients like the Boston Strangler, Albert DeSalvo, was found in Sirhan’s infamous notebook on several pages, and allegedly after the killing Jennings even had boasted that he was the one who programmed him.

In his final days and in disassociate mental condition; Muhammad left clues to his programmers. His attorney, Jonathan Sheldon, says that Muhammad is severely mentally ill who suffers from Gulf War Syndrome and delusions. Yet, Sheldon said Muhammad called him a few days ago to say he should find his dentist to confirm that he was not in Washington at the time of the crimes. “He’s in Nuremberg,” Muhammad said. “In Germany?” Sheldon asked. “It’s a week before his execution, and he thinks we should be looking for a dentist in Germany.”

Nuremberg. Very interesting! Nuremberg was the site of the Nuremberg Trials. The Nuremberg Trials is the general name for two sets of trials of Nazis involved in crimes committed during the Holocaust of World War II. The first, and most famous, began on November 20, 1945. It was misleadingly entitled the Trial of the Major War Criminals before the International Military Tribunal, which tried some of the most insignificant leaders of Nazi Germany, while the major war criminals, the SS, the World Greatness Racial Mass Murders, entered the employ of the U.S. Government under the CIA.

It just so happens that Muhammad’s annihilation, by his own admission, will come so close to the 64th Anniversary to the Nuremberg Trials of Nazi war criminals and racial mass murderers.

MUHAMMAD & MORPHEUS COMPLEX

Morpheus in Greek Mythology is “he who forms, shapes, moulds”. He is the Greek god of dreams. Morpheus has the ability to take any human’s form and appear in dreams, but is described to have wings on his back when in his true form.

Morpheus’ dream world is protected by the Gates of Morpheus, which had two monsters capable of becoming one’s fears, a method to drive one away. Only other Olympians could enter Morpheus’ Dream World. It is notable that his dream world is where his family lived – other gods that were exiled out of Mount Olympus. Notable features of Morpheus’ dream world are the Rivers of Forgetfulness and the River of Oblivion.

The drug morphine derives its name from Morpheus, based on its dream-inducing power. Morpheus is major character in the Matrix films; he helps fellow humans wake up from life-long machine-induced “dreams.”

As a tool for CIA/Military Intelligence manipulation-mind control operations, the MORPHEUS COMPLEX has a great deal of potential for programming Manchurian Candidates.

Under CIA mind control programs such as MK-ULTRA (Program of Research in Behavioral Modification) -Bluebird/Artichoke Assassination Programs, CIA personnel worked alongside former Nazi and SS scientists and doctors that escaped Nuremberg who had already proven proficient in breaking the mind and creating dissociate and multiple personalities to advance their agenda of racial annihilation and for a new world (Aryan) order.

When the attorney of John Lee Malvo, Muhammad’s teenage accomplice asked him why he committed the alleged random killings, his answer was simple: The Matrix made him do it. Sources familiar with Malvo’s six-hour interview with Fairfax police Nov. 7, 2002 said he referred to “The Matrix” repeatedly. According to sources, he laughed when allegedly confessing his shootings – as if he didn’t believe that he had killed actual human beings.

Malvo was not only obsessed with movie, “The Matrix.” He was inside “The Matrix.” His writings demonstrated that he wished people would free their minds from the matrix. The writings appeared focused, in part, on the movie.” “Free Your Mind! The Body Will Follow!” Malvo went on, “You are a slave to the Matrix ‘control,’ ” One page refers to Morpheus telling Neo: “Free first your mind, trust me! The body will follow!”

The writings were taken secretly from Malvo’s cell at the Fairfax County, Va., jail, photocopied and provided to investigators on the sniper task force preparing for the murder trial of Malvo, and John Allen Muhammad.

If you watched the 1999 “The Matrix”, you would instantly understand that Malvo was Neo, and Morpheus was John Allen Muhammad. In the MATRIX, Neo follows the white rabbit tattoo to Morpheus.

In “Alice in Wonderland,” Alice begins her journey by following the white rabbit who’s not happy to have her there, and who’s in quite a hurry to get somewhere. They tumble down the rabbit hole, and so it all begins. Neo is told to follow the “White Rabbit” in The Matrix in one of many metaphysical “waking up” metaphors. Seconds later, his doorbell rings, and when he opens the door he finds a woman with a tattoo of a white rabbit on her shoulder. Later in the film right before he meets the oracle one can see Night of the Lepus playing on a nearby television, symbolizing Neo’s decision to “follow the white rabbit” and to disturb the order of the Matrix.

In the movie, Morpheus presents Neo with a choice between the red pill, which will lift the veil of illusion provided by the Matrix, and the blue pill, which will enable Neo to maintain the comfort of his illusory life asleep in the Matrix. Without the awakening guidance of Morpheus, Neo, Malvo’s choice of awakening, reality, and consciousness is forever lost without the guiding hand of Morpheus.

In some cases, the “white rabbit’” is a mind control programmer. If we follow the white rabbit, it would lead you to Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. Some of the Col. John B. Alexander’s Psi-Tech operations of First Earth Battalion (FEB) were run out of Ft. Lewis, Washington. Muhammad was a soldier being run out of Ft. Lewis. Project Morpheus appears to involve covert political assassinations as long as there is a National Security Finding by the National Security Council (NSC) to cover it.

Reichsfurhrer Heinrich Himmler’s resident SS, Knight of Black Sun on the NSC was Dr. Fritz Gustane Anton Kraemer. Dr. Fraemer was a special assistant, adviser and strategist to the U.S. Army Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations (DCSOPS) at the Pentagon. The NSC was patterned after Fuehrer Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany’s Security Council, and its jurisdiction was to oversee the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by dictate of the National Security Act of 1947.

The extraordinary researcher, the Late Great Mae Brussell, identified Kraemer as the “Number One” most powerful (Secret Team) person in the United States. She suspected that he was the very same Brigadefuhrer SS Fritz Kraemer who was very high up in Hitler’s regime and personally responsible for extremely strategic fascist atrocities in WWII, who as a war crimes defendant just happened to literally walk away from the Nuremberg Trials as a SS war criminal into the service of the U.S. Military.

False Flag Operations such as Northwoods were part and parcel of The Knights of Black Sun’s Master plan for a 1000 Year Third Reich of World Domination. Hitler, Himmler and the SS Master Plan devised a series of historical events that, on the surface, would appear to occurrences of acts of murder, assassinations, terror, and war. Through timing of these events, patience, careful planning, and cooperation from others in positions of trust, stealth and deceit, they would acquire power over the United States and world through false flag operations, fear mongering, population mind control, deception, concealment, selected assassinations of national and world leaders, and war.

THE BETRAYAL OF JOHN ALLEN MUHAMMAD

By the time of this posting, Muhammad has reached the final criterion of a Manchurian Candidate: an ultimate disposal after operation.

John Allen Williams was betrayed by U.S. Military Intelligence and transformed into an Army/CIA guinea pig and patsy involved in a classified MK ULTRA/NSC related mind control/assassination project that few if any are pursuing the truth of.

Just as in the case of James Earl Ray and Charles Manson, follow the money trail. How did a man without any visible means of support travel across the country; to the Caribbean, buy cars, guns, ammunition, computers, state of the art global positioning systems; and fully fund and support his companion Malvo in a covert cross country operation for the government to recover stolen plastic explosives without covert government funding, support, and protection.

Timothy McVeigh, the alleged Oklahoma City Bomber, may have also unknowingly been an Army/CIA guinea pig involved in a classified telemetric/mind-control project — a “Manchurian Candidate.”

McVeigh also prematurely reached the final criterion of a Manchurian Candidate: the ultimate disposal after operation in 2001. Yet, there is some deal of liberal and progressive community research in pursuit of the truth in his case , but Muhammad and Malvo have not received like critical research, examination of the facts and circumstances of the DC Sniper operation. Is it because of their race? Is it the contrived “Big Black Brute” syndrome that seems to throw liberals and progressives into a “Primal Fear” of Black males?

The legal system has betrayed Muhammad. His recently retained attorneys contend that the Virginia court system that convicted him and sentenced him to death deliberately cut short the time for filing appeals and refused to hold a single hearing after the trial. Muhammad’s trial lawyers described him as a “very bright man” to the jury, and did not place his delusional mental or military intelligence induced dissociate mental state into trial or in the public eye.

There is still NO MOTIVE for Muhammad and Malvo to travel across country assaulting and killing people at random; other than as pasties in a modern version of a SS inspired false flag domestic terrorist OPERATION NORTHWOODS!

In Ancient Kemet, the deities of Isis, Imhotep, Seti I, Thoth, Serapis, Ptah, and Amon-Ra all had dream temples. These temples were open to everyone, regardless of age, status, health or gender. The only requirements were the absolute faith in the deity’s influence and the ‘purity’ of the heart of the supplicant.

Morpheus’ ship, the Nebuchadnezzar, in the Matrix movie is a reference to the Babylonian king in the Old Testament who besieged the kingdom of Judah. Daniel the prophet was taken to his court with all of the Kingdom of Judah’s intellectual elite. In the Matrix, Morpheus’ ship traveled through the network to awaken people from the “dream” of the Matrix, but there is yet another lesson closer to absolute faith and our hearts, the power among men of our Lord.

The Bible in the Book of Daniel states that the mighty Nebuchadnezzar had a dream that troubled him that no one would interpret so he called in the prophet Daniel to interpret the dream. “This is the interpretation, O king: It is a decree of the Most High, which has come upon my lord the king, 25 that you shall be driven from among men, and your dwelling shall be with the beasts of the field. You shall be made to eat grass like an ox, and you shall be wet with the dew of heaven, and seven periods of time shall pass over you, till you know that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will. 26 And as it was commanded to leave the stump of the roots of the tree, your kingdom shall be confirmed for you from the time that you know that Heaven rules. Book of Daniel, Chapter 4, verses 24-26

Hopefully the slaying of John Allen Muhammad, and the senseless slayings and grievous injuries of the October 2002 DC Sniper incidents will awaken us from our sleep in “The Matrix” contrived by the military-industrial-medical-congressional complex that is ruled over by a merciless Aryan oligarchy to make it certain upon the nations of this Earth that the Most High rules the kingdom of men and gives it to whom he will.

Slavoj Žižek ha raccontato di avere avuto l’eccezionale privilegio di vedere Matrix in compagnia di quello che, a suo dire, è lo spettatore ideale del film: un idiota. A quanto pare, il giovanotto che sedeva accanto al filosofo sloveno era così preso dalla visione da prorompere continuamente in sonore esclamazioni del tipo: «Mio dio, allora non esiste nessuna realtà!». Posto che sia davvero questo lo spettatore ideale, se ne dovrebbe  concludere che il mondo pullula di idioti. Come spiegare altrimenti le montagne di dollari piovute addosso ai fratelli Wachowski dal 31 marzo di dieci anni fa, giorno in cui Matrix uscì nelle sale americane?

Il segreto del suo successo consiste in buona parte nel modo in cui stuzzica il filosofo dilettante che sonnecchia in ognuno di noi. Alzi la mano chi, almeno una volta, non ha desiderato di risvegliarsi dalla dura realtà quotidiana alla stessa maniera in cui ci si risveglia da un brutto sogno. Di questo, in sostanza, parla il film. La sostanza nuda e cruda, però, non basta. È dai tempi di Platone, forse addirittura prima, che l’umanità si lambicca sulla reale consistenza di ciò che percepiscono i nostri sensi. E infatti, in Matrix, la sostanza nuda e cruda è infarcita di tante altre cose. Cose che spaziano dai videogiochi al buddismo zen e consentono al film di funzionare come una sorta di test di Rorschach, buono sia per idioti che cervelloni.

Insomma, ognuno può vederci quello che vuole perché dentro c’è di tutto. C’è dentro tanta di quella roba che è un vero miracolo che il film stia in piedi. Miracolo in senso lato, ben inteso. Perché a voler essere onesti, l’intelaiatura che tiene insieme i pezzi del rutilante mosaico è un regalo dello scrittore più saccheggiato da Hollywood negli ultimi trent’anni: Philip K. Dick, l’uomo senza il quale film come Blade Runner, Minority Report, Vanilla Sky, The Truman Show non avrebbero mai visto luce. Delle tante pellicole che per vie più o meno traverse discendono dalla sua opera, Matrix è quello che più gli deve e che meno gli ha riconosciuto.

Mezzo secolo fa, nel lontano 1959, Dick raccontò la storia di un uomo che scopre a poco a poco di essere al centro di gigantesco complotto. La paciosa e idilliaca cittadina di provincia in cui costui crede di vivere non è che una messa in scena, un involucro fittizio creato per tenerlo lontano dalla guerra che infuria all’esterno e consentire all’esercito di sfruttare i suoi latenti poteri di chiaroveggenza senza che lui se ne renda conto. L’analogia con lo scenario di Matrix è fin troppo palese. Ma c’è di più. Parecchi anni dopo, nel 1974, Dick fu a tal punto sconvolto da una serie di esperienze e visioni mistiche da convincersi una volta per tutte che la «matrice spazio-temporale» del mondo è soltanto un’illusione, un ologramma.

Dick passò il resto della sua vita a meditare su quel che aveva visto, o creduto di vedere, lasciando un’enorme quantità di appunti nei quali usò espressamente la parola «matrix» e avanzò un’ipotesi che è di fatto la fotocopia del film dei Wachowski: «Se si ammette che la nostra realtà consiste in una sorta di quadro proiettato, apparirà evidente che tale proiezione deve essere opera di un Artefatto, una macchina-insegnante simile a un computer che ci guida, ci programma e, in generale, ci controlla mentre agiamo inconsapevoli della sua presenza all’interno del nostro mondo proiettato».

Non essendo Matrix tratto da alcun romanzo in particolare, nei crediti non si fa la benché minima menzione a Dick. Una delle scene chiave, però, contiene forse un criptico omaggio. Quando ci viene rivelato che il mondo non è che una simulazione informatica concepita per tenere il genere umano in schiavitù, Morpheus invita Neo a guardare in un televisore. Lo schermo mostra una landa desolata e inospitale: la Terra come realmente è. La tivù in questione è un vecchio apparecchio degli anni Cinquanta modello Deep Image, nome dal vago sapore gnostico. Coincidenza vuole che in quel periodo Dick lavorasse proprio in un negozio dove si riparavano televisori. Voluta o no è una coincidenza molto significativa, perché Dick si licenziò dal negozio nel 1951 dopo aver venduto il suo primo racconto di fantascienza. Si illudeva che da allora in poi avrebbe campato di sola scrittura; cosa che in effetti fece se per campare si intende vivere ai limiti dell’indigenza.

Un destino cinico e baro lo chiamò a miglior vita pochi mesi prima dell’uscita di Blade Runner, il film che gli avrebbe aperto le porte della ricchezza. Tanto per dare un’idea, il solo Paycheck tratto da un racconto venduto a una rivista pulp per meno di duecento dollari, ha fruttato quasi due milioni agli eredi, peraltro numerosi perché Dick aveva una forte inclinazione per le donne problematiche e si sposò ben cinque volte. Non che lui fosse una persona facile. A sette anni gli diagnosticarono una schizofrenia latente e visse così nel perenne incubo di perdere il lume della ragione. Si imbottiva di anfetamine e pasticche di ogni sorta. Soffriva di agorafobia, depressione, disturbi psicosomatici e paranoie varie, tra cui quella che la cia lo tenesse sotto controllo.

In gioventù aveva cullato il sogno di diventare uno scrittore «serio», alla James Joyce, ma si vide regolarmente mortificato da editori che gli restituivano i manoscritti con lettere di rifiuto. La fantascienza gli diede la possibilità di esprimersi e sbarcare il lunario ma rappresentò anche una prigione dalla quale non riuscì mai a evadere. L’obbligo di infilare androidi e colonie marziane nelle sue storie non gli impedì tuttavia di usare il proprio talento per parlare della vita di tutti i giorni mostrandola in una luce nuova, estraniante  ma mai priva di una sua logica.

Uno dei personaggi di Illusione di potere è tormentato dai problemi che ha con la moglie. A forza di arrovellarsi giunge alla conclusione che all’origine di tutto ci sia l’incapacità di ricordare il passato comune, «i giorni in cui stavamo insieme perché lo volevamo». Arriva persino al punto di considerare che l’inganno è entrato nelle vite umane il giorno in cui un bardo compose il primo poema epico su una grande battaglia dei tempi andati. In altre parole, l’Iliade sarebbe un falso perché frutto del velleitario bisogno di conservare ciò è destinato a svanire. L’entropia era un’altra delle ossessioni di Dick.

Ovviamente il romanzo parla anche d’altro: di un pianeta in guerra con razze aliene, di uno strano tipo di dittatore che non muore mai a dispetto delle tante e gravi malattie, di una droga letale che altera la percezione del tempo. Ma come quasi sempre in Dick, i momenti in cui la trama della realtà davvero si sfalda sono quelli in cui i personaggi si interrogano sulla malinconica precarietà dell’esistenza, su quell’inesorabile svanire delle cose che tinge tutto d’illusione. Matrimoni che si sfasciano, crolli nervosi, corpi che invecchiano, oggetti che si impolverano: erano questi i temi su cui Dick sempre ritornava. Che è poi la ragione per cui i suoi libri, sebbene di fantascienza, seguitano ad apparirci così umani, commoventi e tutt’altro che idioti. Con buona pace degli spettatori ideali di Matrix.

Neo acorda de seu coma forçado, induzido por Merovíngio. Ele está em uma estação de metrô. Na verdade, um local intermediário entre a Matrix e o mundo real. Uma espécie de ambiente DOS, um purgatório regido pelo companheiro de Persephone. Uma menininha, Sati, começa a dialogar com nosso herói. Ela é um elemento novo na trama, e uma das chaves para a compreensão do destino que Neo tentará traçar para a Matrix. Os pais de Sati, programas desenvolvidos na Matrix, chamam-na para perto. Neo também se aproxima e tem um longo diálogo filosófico, sobre “carma” e “amor”, com o pai da menina. Um programa também pode acreditar em carma? Se tive fé, por que não…? Sati e seus pais, programas criados pela Matrix, consideram aquele mundo virtual como real. Eles têm medos e esperanças como nós. Procriam. E não querem morrer. Vida criada pela Matrix? Afinal, o que define vida?

A partir desse encontro, Neo formata o caminho que trilhará daqui em diante.

Enquanto isso, Seraph, mais um programa desenvolvido pelo sistema, convoca Morpheus e Trinity a se plugarem novamente a Matrix. Seraph sabe como tirar a consciência de Neo daquele limbo digital. O trio vai ao encontro de Merovíngio. Após uma troca de ameaças Trinity aponta uma arma na cabeça do francês e dá xeque mate. Trinity matará Merovíngio se ele não libertar Neo. Persephone sabe que não é um blefe. Só mesmo uma mulher para entender outra (mesmo que seja um programa).

Neo, no Purgatório, livre das amarras da Matrix e da realidade, tenta descobrir uma maneira de voltar ao mundo real. Nessa tentativa, sua consciência se expande, e ele tem uma visão: o centro da Matrix. O 01. O local do confronto final. Chega o trem, mas uma vez Trinity mostra o caminho para Neo. O que seria dos homens sem as mulheres?

Neo visita novamente seu velho amigo Oráculo. Ele quer conselhos, mas o Oráculo sabe que seu caminho já foi escolhido. Oráculo diz: “tudo que começa, um dia termina”. Parece uma frase enigmática, mas na verdade é um código de acesso que Neo terá que usar. O Oráculo é um programa independente, talvez criado pela Matrix para testar o sistema. Um software de auditoria, de checagem dos registros. Nas muitas versões da Matrix e de Zion, o Oráculo aprendeu muito e fez suas escolhas. Ele não quer o novo fim de Zion e o boot do sistema, quer a revolução da Matrix, há mais vida em jogo do que pensamos. Ele também sabe que Smith, o vírus, é uma anomalia no sistema. Smith foi além das capacidades originais e, assim como Neo, surpreendeu a Matrix. Smith é o vírus perfeito, um World ou um Photoshop que conseguiu independência. Smith é o outro lado de Neo. Ele não segue mais o sistema, está fora do controle da Matrix. Oráculo quer servir de interface entre o vírus e a Matrix, quer ser o caminho de entendimento do funcionamento do vírus. Por isso, deverá deixar que Smith o assimile.

Agora, no mundo real, as forças de defesa de Zion se preparam para o confronto final. As chances para os humanos são poucas… Para não dizer nenhuma! As brocas gigantes já estão terminando de perfurar a entrada para a fortaleza. Numa reunião de oficiais, Neo pede o inusitado: uma nave para leva-lo até a cidade das máquinas. Num momento em que todas as forças de defesa humanas estão centradas na defesa de Zion, esse pedido é inconcebível. Mas, Niobe cede sua nave a Neo. Afinal, temos que encontrar a solução para o problema fora dele. Niobe não acredita no predestinado, mas acredita em Neo.

Mifune, um verdadeiro mestre de samurais, encaminha seus guerreiros para o front de batalha contra as sentinelas, os hardwares de combate da Matrix. Antes, porém, como um típico professor, repreende a desastrada conduta do aprendiz que carrega munições. Sacrifícios humanos, em favor de Zion, estão para acontecer…

Toda a trama começa a se centralizar em um único foco, o amor. O amor dos pais por Sati. O amor de Trinity por Neo. O amor de Mifune pela liberdade. E o amor de Zee pelo seu lar e sua família. Zion é o lar de Zee e para defende-la, lutará até o fim. E se precisar lutar uma guerra de humanos contra máquinas não se acovardará. E numa guerra de homens temos que lutar como um homem! Por isso, Zee se une a uma combatente masculinizada e com uma arma fálica defenderá a imaculada Zion de ser penetrada, sem permissão, por outro elemento fálico, a broca das sentinelas.

Próximo da morte, Mifune passa seu estandarte para o jovem aprendiz. É hora do aprendiz se tornar mestre! O aprendiz tem que abrir o acesso de Zion à nave pilotada por Niobe, e para isso tem a ajuda de Zee, a zeladora da fortaleza, a dona da casa.

Sucesso! Os sentinelas são vencidos. Mas uma nova leva de sentinelas está a caminho e as chances dos humanos, até agora mínimas, chega quase a zero!

Cabe a Neo, o predestinado, ignorado pela maioria dos habitantes de Zion, a cartada final. Após uma luta com um Smith “encarnado”, onde descobre que a essência de nosso universo é muito semelhante a da Matrix (afinal, a matemática não é “o alfabeto com o qual Deus escreveu o Universo”?) e após ficar cego pelas mãos do malfeitor, Neo é levado ao encontro do centro da Matrix por Trinity. Como Lilith e Eva, Trinity é o fator feminino de oposição a cegueira masculina. Ela tira Neo do paraíso de Zion e dos túneis misteriosos que o cercam e o leva até o ponto de convergência, a verdade, de onde não se pode mais voltar. A Matrix, com medo, manda um pelotão de sentinelas em direção da nave de Neo. Tempo perdido! Neo pode acessar a Matrix a distância, não precisa mais se plugar ao sistema. A Matrix é um universo em miniatura dos nosso próprio Universo. Segue leis parecidas. Não podemos voar no sistema operacional Universo como Neo o faz no sistema operacional Matrix, pela simples questão que estamos dentro desse ambiente. Não existimos fora do Universo. Se existíssemos, teríamos poderes ilimitados.

Trinity tem a oportunidade de ver o sol e admirar sua beleza. Ela vê a luz… sua missão está comprida. Precisa deixar Neo encontrar sua verdade sozinho.

Agora, Neo confronta a Matrix na sua versão antropomórfica e esfíngica. A Matrix, o Deus criado pelo homem, pergunta a Neo se tem medo de sua própria criação. Porém, a Matrix, um Windows em versão definitiva, está tão vislumbrada com sua própria grandeza, que não percebe que ainda segue a programação desenhada pelo homem. Ela não percebe que precisa do homem, não por ser um Duracell eficiente para seu sistema funcionar, mas porque, sem o homem, ela não tem razão de existir. Neo sabe disso, e, por seu amor pela vida, seja orgânica ou não, barganha com a máquina: Zion e a liberação dos humanos presos ao sistema pela eliminação total do vírus Smith que compromete toda a Matrix. O enigma da esfinge está respondido. A decisão que Neo tomou no metro está esclarecida.

Chegou a hora do confronto final entre Neo e Smith. Em particular o Smith que assimilou o Oráculo. Uma longa batalha se inicia. Mas a superioridade do Smith upgradeado é nítida nos momentos finais. Neo, aparentemente vencido, deixa que Smith o assimile. O código fonte de Neo é o último passo para Smith se tornar supremo e poder redesenhar o sistema a sua vontade. Mas o entendo de Smith será mal fadado. A essência do Oráculo ainda está nesta cópia do vírus. O Oráculo serve de interface entre Smith e a Matrix. Neo é o usuário do sistema que precisa optar, entre o “sim” e o “não”, na janela do antivírus que diz: “O vírus Smith foi detectado no sistema Matrix, deseja deletá-lo?”. Neo é o fator humano que interage com o sistema. Ele opta pelo “sim” e o vírus Smith é eliminado.

Neo redime os pecados dos homens e das máquinas. Sua missão também está comprida. O sol que Sati cria na Matrix é o mesmo que Trinity admirou no mundo real. Sati é o reinício da eternidade. A criança, a esperança de uma nova vida, de uma revolução. Agora a vida pode seguir em paz…

The Sandman

Écrire des articles, ça prend du temps. J’ai deux/trois personnes intéressantes et intéressées par écrire dans ce blog, mais finalement faute de temps ils ne le font pas. Le problème est d’autant plus grand lorsque l’on s’attaque à un gros morceau, et c’est ce qui était le cas avec cet article, commencé en septembre . J’y parlais du rachat de Marvel par Disney, et j’évoquais des héros oubliés comme Nova ou Ant-man ^^. Depuis, j’ai fait pas mal de choses, recyclé une partie de l’intro dans l’article sur Watchmen, et laissé tombé le meilleur comic, peut-être la meilleure BD et quoi qu’il en soit une des meilleures histoires que j’aie lu : the Sandman. Mais c’était sans compter sur Syracuse Cat, qui m’a relancé récemment. Donc remerciez-la parce que vous allez découvrir du grand art !

The Sandman

Alors reprenons la démonstration : Marvel, des persos cool (sauf Captain America) ; DC comics, des persos nazes (sauf Batman). DC comics, dans leur lot de personnages sans intérêt, ont the Sandman : un détective en costume jaune et rouge qui endort les criminels avec un pistolet à gaz.  Passionnant.

Sauf que, en 1989, intervient Neil Gaiman. Normalement, vous devez le connaître car votre bibliothèque contient _obligatoirement_ De bon présage (Good Omens), qu’il a écrit avec Terry Pratchett. Il a écrit pas mal d’autres bouquins primés, mais Syracuse Cat vous en parlera mieux que moi. Gaiman reprend le personnage du Sandman, et lorsqu’un écrivain -ou un vrai scénariste, rare- se met à scénariser de la BD, ça donne du grand art.

D’un côté il y a l’univers : notre monde, d’autres, Dieu et le paradis, l’enfer et Lucifer, etc. Toutes ces choses ont nécessairement une fin. De l’autre, il y a les Endless. Ils sont sept. Ils sont frères et soeurs. Il y a Destiny, Death, Dream, Destruction, etc. Dream est celui qui nous intéresse ; suivant les cultures, il a de nombreux noms : Morpheus, Oneiros, the Sandman. Mais quoi qu’il arrive, il est _le rêve_.

Ses aventures sont parues en 11 tomes. C’est dans le premier qu’on le rencontre, in medias res. 1916, un occultiste tente d’invoquer et d’emprisonner la mort. A la place, apparaît un humanoïde vêtu d’une longue cape noire et d’un masque à gaz. Dévêtu, il est enfermé sous une cloche de verre, mais refuse obstinément de communiquer.  1916, les gens arrêtent de rêver. S’ensuivent des décennies de barbaries où les gens, privés de rêve, deviennent fou et s’entretuent. 1988,  le rêve, car c’était lui, réussit à sortir de sa prison de verre. Si l’humanité recommence à rêver tandis que le ravisseur est enfermé à vie dans un cauchemar, c’est en fait le début des problèmes pour the Sandman.

The Sandman

Lorsqu’il retourne chez lui, son royaume est en ruine et ses sujets sont presque tous partis. Les objets dans lesquels il avait concentré ses pouvoirs ont été volés et disséminés par son ancien ravisseur : son sac de sable, son casque, et son rubis. Il lui faudra les récupérer, et pour cela affronter toutes les légions de l’enfer (littéralement) ou s’attaquer à des ennemis rendus fous par tant de pouvoir.

The Sandeman

Une fois ses pouvoirs et sa légitimité retrouvés, il lui faudra réunir tous ses sujets, et surtout retrouver et punir tous ceux qui refusent de revenir : quelques rêves, mais aussi les cauchemars les plus puissants qu’il a créé, comme le Corinthien. Et réparer encore et toujours des répercussions de sa trop longue captivité.

L’histoire s’ouvre ensuite à d’autres choses. Des histoires passées, parfois, ou la suite des aventures contemporaines de Morpheus. Mais la force de la narration de Gaiman, c’est que rien n’est innocent. Toutes les histoires anciennes auront une répercussion par la suite, parfois plusieurs volumes plus tard. Quant aux histoires contemporaines, elles découlent toutes de cette longue captivité ou des évènements induits. Par exemple, un long passage va concerner la gouvernance de l’enfer. En effet, Morpheus y ayant récupéré son casque, il a mis à mal Lucifer qui finit par abandonner son royaume et se venge en le donnant au Sandman. S’ensuivra alors une lutte de pouvoir entre toutes les divinités présentes ou passées qui veulent le récupérer, avec moult promesses ou menaces envers le Sandman. Et celui qui récupèrera la mise en sera également changé au point qu’il y ait des répercussions plus tard.

Finalement, ces onze volumes sont racontés de telle manière qu’on a l’impression de suivre une suite d’évènements qui commencent tous par la captivité du Sandman, et qui mèneront inéluctablement aux évènements des deux derniers volumes (c’est une vrai fin, non ouverte). Rien n’est gratuit chez Gaiman, et c’est du grand art.
Morpheus l’imbu de lui même se remet en question suite à ces 70 ans de méditation forcée ; le lecteur, lui, au fur et à mesure que le récit avance, se rend compte de l’impitoyable puissance de “la destinée”, ou comment tous les évènements passés se répercutent vers un seul point, impossible à éviter. Juste grandiose.

Outre la force de l’histoire, on s’attache à ces personnages qui apparaissent et que l’on a l’impression de connaître de plus en plus. Morpheus, d’abord, qui accompagne le lecteur dans sa réflexion sur le pouvoir et les responsabilités ; cet être plus puissant que les dieux qui se pose la question de sa légitimité. Sa famille au sens large, ensuite, comme ses frères et sœurs : Death, terriblement glamour, les deux jumelles Desire et Despair, mais enfin, qu’est-il arrivé à ce mystérieux Destruction, et la géniale, terrible Delirium (qui s’appelait avant Delight) dont un volume lui est co-consacré, pour notre plus grand bonheur. Mais il est aussi question de mortels, que l’on retrouve parfois longtemps après les avoir rencontrés, on suit leur évolution, on s’attache à eux. Sandman, c’est comme la vraie vie : on retrouve des amis qu’on avait pas vus depuis longtemps et on est content de savoir ce qu’ils sont devenus.

Delirium : Um. What’s the name of the word for things not being the same always. You know, I’m sure there is one. Isn’t there ? There must be a word for it… The thing that let you know that time is happening. Is there a word ?
Dream : Change.
Delirium : Oh. I was afraid of that.

Enfin, le troisième point qui donne tant de plaisir à la lecture de Sandman, c’est l’intelligence avec laquelle Gaiman incorpore son récit dans le monde des DC Comics comme dans le monde réel. Il ne rejette rien. Les supers-héros, quoique peu présents, existent dans son monde. L’ancien Sandman, le détective rouge et jaune, trouve sa légitimité. Et surtout, il justifie l’existence de toutes les religions en parallèle : oui, Dieu existe, comme l’enfer, comme les dieux égyptiens, romains, ou nordiques. Ce sont juste des êtres comme les autres, trompeurs, parfois vils, qui cherchent de la puissance en ayant des croyants. Et tous ces petits mondes s’articulent parfaitement entre eux, se connaissent, se fréquentent.
Tout au long du récit, on trouve des personnages qui existent dans d’autres œuvres, d’autres religions, ou dans la réalité. A chaque fois, le lien est expliqué et _est crédible_  ! J’ai déjà parlé des dieux, de certains héros DC (on trouvera entre autres l’asile d’Arkham, John Constantine, etc.), on découvrira aussi d’où vient l’inspiration de Shakespeare, etc. Ah comme tout ce récit est génial ! Je pourrais tout vous raconter
Même si je le déconseille à ceux qui ne l’ont pas lu, vous trouverez une liste assez complète des personnages secondaires “connus” de Sandman ici.

Une histoire emphatique, qui exerce la réflexion et flatte l’intelligence, un monde crédible et bien incorporé, des dialogues ciselés et qui font mouche, n’y a-t-il pas de mauvais côtés ? Il faut malheureusement avouer que le dessin n’est pas particulièrement glamour ou attractif. C’est typique de ce que je n’aime pas dans les comics américain. Quand le dessin n’est pas basique, c’est qu’il s’agit d’être original et et général c’est moche – de mon point de vue. Les traits et couleurs sont assez bof. Mais on retrouve le même problème chez Watchmen par exemple (dessin basique), et puis si ça peut rebuter au début, on est trop vite emporté par l’histoire pour s’en soucier. A noter également que les dessinateurs changent régulièrement, un style qui vous parait hideux ne devrait donc pas durer plus d’un album.

A côté des 10 volumes +1 ^^, il existe quelques hors série, spin-offs en général. Personnellement, je n’ai pas été convaincu par ceux que j’ai eu entre les mains, donc je vous dirais de ne pas chercher à être exhaustif dans votre lecture. J’ai croisé quelques albums en français à la FNAC, mais je ne sais pas ce que vaut la traduction et où ils en sont.  D’après Wikipedia ils viennent de terminer le dernier volume.
Pour la version originale, la série est parue entre 1989 et 96, et a eu un tel succès qu’il n’est pas difficile de  commander les albums VO aujourd’hui.

The sandman

Enfin, si les rumeurs de films sortent régulièrement, rien à l’horizon pour le moment. Gaiman a déclaré un jour que le script qu’un gros studio lui avait présenté était le pire script de Sandman qu’on lui ait donné mais même le pire script de film qu’il ait pu voir . Remercions sa clairvoyance. Quoi qu’il en soit, Gaiman, qui a mis sa main dans quelques films récemment (scenario), a dit que “le temps de voir the Sandman au cinéma [était] proche”.. Let’s dream of that !

U.S. Covert Domestic Terrorist Operations & The SS

-Code named Operation Northwoods, the plan, which had the written approval of the Chairman and every member of the Joint Chiefs of Staff, called for innocent people to be shot on American streets; for boats carrying refugees fleeing Cuba to be sunk on the high seas; for a wave of violent terrorism to be launched in Washington, D.C., Miami, and elsewhere. People would be framed for bombings they did not commit; planes would be hijacked. Using phony evidence, all of it would be blamed on Castro, thus giving Lemnitzer and his cabal the excuse, as well as the public and international backing, they needed to launch their war-[1] 

President John F. Kennedy may have trashed the idea, but Fascist and Strong-Arm Law and Order Presidential Administrations like Richard Milhouse Nixon, Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, Bill Clinton, and George W. Bush were ready to sign off on criminal death and destruction covert domestic terrorist programs dreamed up by the Knights of the Black Sun, the SS, to polarized the races and terrorize the masses for their own end of a New World Order.

Reichsfurhrer Heinrich Himmler’s resident SS, Knight of Black Sun, on the U.S. Joint Chief of Staff was Dr. Fritz Gustane Anton Kraemer. Dr. Kraemer was a special assistant, adviser and strategist to the U.S. Army Deputy Chief of Staff of Operations (DCSOPS) at the Pentagon, [2] and the National Security Council (NSC). The NSC was patterned after Fuehrer Adolf Hitler and Nazi Germany’s Security Council, and its jurisdiction was to oversee the Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) by dictate of the National Security Act of 1947.

The extraordinary researcher, the Late Great Mae Brussell, identified Kraemer as the “Number One” most powerful (Secret Team) person in the United States. She suspected that he was the very same Brigadefuhrer SS Fritz Kraemer [3] who was very high up in Hitler’s regime and personally responsible for extremely strategic fascist atrocities in WWII, who as a war crimes defendant literally walked away from the Nuremberg Tribunal. [4]

Fritz Kraemer and his son, Sven Kraemer, were major advisors of the NSC for both Democratic and Republican presidential administrations since Eisenhower. They were also prominent advisors in the Center for Security Policy (CSP), which features the William J. Casey Institute. Federal Judge D. Lowell Jensen’s Alameda County Mafia partner, Edwin Meese III, was an informal advisor of the CSP with the Kraemers. [5] The Kraemers were some of the most dominant and influential members of Henry Kissinger’s staff, and the U.S. Pentagon.

U.S. Domestic Terrorism Operations such as Northwoods were part and parcel of The Knights of Black Sun’s Master plan for a 1000 Year Third Reich of World Domination. Hitler, Himmler and the SS Master Plan devised a series of historical events that, on the surface, would appear to be occurrences of international and domestic terrorism; acts of murder, assassinations, terror, and war. Through timing of these events, patience, careful planning, and cooperation from others in positions of trust, stealth and deceit, they would acquire power over the United States and World through false flag operations, fear mongering, population mind control, deception, concealment, selected assassinations of national and world leaders, and war.

Marinus Van der Lubbe, “The Nazi’s Patsy” Domestic Terrorist, was convicted and executed for the infamous 1933 Reichstag Fire in Berlin that propelled Adolf Hitler and the Nazis into absolute power. After the fire, Van de Lubbe was found by the SS, cowering behind the Reichstag building, the house of the first parliament of Germany. Van de Lubbe had been a mental patient who lived as a vagabond and entertained grand delusions. On the forty-second day of his trial, he talked about “inner voices” that commanded him and demanded that he be put to death. [6] Van de Lubbe’s trial was compromised. He was convicted by a German court and executed. He was guillotined in a Leipzig prison yard on January 10, 1934. [7] 

According to Nazi propaganda, the Reichstag fire was intended as a signal for a feared national communist uprising that had long been planned. The Nazis had deliberately set the fire and setup Van de Lubbe as a patsy to scare the people into turning Germany into a Nazi dictatorship and strong-arm fascist state to fight off a sham communist menace.

To justify the invasion of Poland in 1939, the SS took twelve Jewish prisoners out of Buchenwald Concentration Camp and forced them to take poison, shot them after they had put on Polish uniforms. An SS Officer yelled in Polish into a radio transmitter at a radio station bordering Poland and Germany that they had taken over the station, and intended to invade Germany, and then the SS fled leaving the dead Jewish concentration camp inmates scattered about at the site of radio station as proof of Poland’s aggression.[8]

On September 1, 1939, to terrorize the people of Germany, Hitler told the Nazi Reichstag that Poland had tried to invade Germany, and the Wehrmacht was returning fire since 5:45 AM. Actually, in a carefully planned and highly mobile attack codenamed Fall Weiss (Case White) planned by General Field Marshal Walther von Brauchitsch, German land, sea, and air forces were moving rapidly into Poland. [9]

U.S. Naval Hospital Neuropsychiatric Laboratory in San Diego & FIRST EARTH BATTALION

A blend of PSI (psychokinesis, etc) and mind control was used to create Col. Jim Channon’s U.S. First Earth Battalion (FEB) at Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. FEB is an advanced version of the assassins created at the U.S. Naval Hospital Neuropsychiatric Laboratory in San Diego in the late 1970’s, which were replications of the CIA’s 1954 Artichoke project. [10]

According to the Late Great Mae Brussell, “Project Artichoke… [t]he object of this project was to create the real “Manchurian Candidate”, an assassin who could be programmed to kill a target and then not even remember he did it.” [11] The mission of the Manchurian Candidates were to commit acts of selected assassinations, and random acts of violence that appear to be crime sprees, and occurrences of international and domestic terrorism. 

During the 1ate 1970’s, Sebron Flenaugh, Jr., Oakland’s Jedi Knight Assassin, had been conveniently tucked away at the U.S. Naval Hospital in San Diego, CA.

OAKLAND’S MANCHURIAN CANDIDATE DOMESTIC TERRORISM CELL

Alternative House & Project Scangate and the Jonestown Connection   

Laser physicists Dr. Russell Targ and Dr. Harold E. Putoff at the Stanford Research Institute (SRI), Central Intelligence Agency (CIA) and the Pentagon’s Jack Verona, The Raven, of the Defense Intelligence Agency (DIA) in the 1970’s developed the top secret psychic warfare program that was called PROJECT SCANGATE.

John Bircher’s Elmer J. & Deana Mertle AKA Alan & Jeannie Patricia Mills were some of Jim Jones’ most trusted former aids. Jim Jones’ idol and possible mentor was SS Dr. Josef Mengele, The Angel (Demon) of Death. According to some sources, Dr. Mengele was a Jonestown visitor. The Mertles joined Peoples Temple in Redwood City sometime in 1969. The Mertles were members of the Peoples Temple’s select and very sensitive “Lily White” Planning Committee.  

The cover story was that the Mertles defected from the Peoples Temple in 1975, and changed their names to Alan Joseph & Jeannie Patricia Mills to avoid associations with their former names because Jim Jones held their signed confessions to various illegal deals.

On January 1, 1980, Alan, Jeannie, and their 15 year old daughter, Daphene, were assassinated at their home at 3028 Regent in Berkeley, CA. The house had been a site for Mertle Rest Home, one of a string of nursing homes ran by the Peoples Temple and Jim Jones.

The Mills had been central in organizing the “Concerned Relatives” of Jonestown. Concerned Relatives was a division of the Human Freedom Center which the Mills were principals. It was “Concerned Relatives” that drew Congressman Leo Ryan into Guyana. Congressman Ryan’s assassination served as a pretext to mass murder of 913 predominately Black women and children in the rainforest of Guyana. 

Silent and professional killers murdered the Mills. The Mills’ 17-year-old son, Eddie, sat in a room in the house completely unaware of the murders. Was he drugged? We may never know because the Berkeley Police Department and FBI seem not to be pursuing the case, then or now. This murder remains unsolved. 

After the mass murder of the mostly Black women and children of Jonestown on November 18, 1978, the Mills founded a half-way house called Human Freedom Center to counsel, debrief, and control survivors of Jonestown, and former members of the Peoples Temple. Jonestown had been a CIA MK ULTRA Medical Experiment. Dr. Margaret Singer of UC Berkeley worked with the Mills and the Human Freedom Center. She was also involved in covering up CIA’s Jonestown experiments, and Congressman Leo Ryan’s assassination in Guyana. For whatever reasons, Jeannie Mills had been number two on Jim Jones’ (CIA) hit list after San Francisco Mayor George Moscone.    

During the 70’s, for cover, many of the CIA’s MK ULTRA pharmaceutical-medical experiments were funneled into domestic prisons, universities, hospitals, clinics, churches and cults. The Mills’ liquidation appears to have been none other than a military intelligence mop up or clean up operation of one of their sensitive domestic programs. In the CIA Jonestown Medical and the Alternative House Assassin experiments, they were cutouts from the beginning. After the Mill’s assassination, Human Freedom Center was taken over by none other than Russell Targ of OPERATION SCANGATE. Targ of SRI had top U.S. governmental military intelligence secret clearances.

Alternate House in Oakland had been frequented by members of a governmental contrived group of virtual reality created Islamic Black Manchurian Candidate Domestic Terrorist to scare the hell out of the masses called Al Constran also known as Al Colestran. 

Paul Cook, Ronnie Flenaugh (Al Rashid) and Billy Mapp (Alim Alalah Ali) were members. Two of them would be liquidated within months of each other after the Zebra or Death Angel horrific mass random terrorist attacks against whites took place in the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Area.

On October 16, 1972, Paul Cook was liquidated in cold blood on the sidewalk in front of Alternative House at 526 32^nd, when he threatened to publicly expose the assassin (Death Angels) program being developed and sustained at the house. Unarmed, Cook’s brains were violently blown out by U.C. Berkeley Assistant Professor, Maalik Al Maalik. 

Al Constran was an experimental Black Community Domestic Terrorist Sect “Artichoke Program” setup by the CIA’s Station Chief at Vacaville Medical Men’s Facility, Dr. James Alexander Hamilton of Stanford and UC Berkeley. They were “Dr. (Isaac) Slaughter’s Boys.” Alternative House had been turned into an ex-offender Manchurian Candidate “Murder Incorporated” and “Black Mafia” of the Oakland-San Francisco Bay Area.

Additionally, OPERATION SCANGATE ESP remote viewers, Targ and Pat Price of SRI were directly involved in the Symbionese Liberation Army caper, America’s most infamous domestic terrorist operation. OPERATION SCANGATE was called in on the Patty Hearst SLA case by the Berkeley Police Department. ESP is extrasensory perception. It is perception occurring independently of sight, hearing, or other sensory processes.

Price, allegedly by ESP, identified CIA Collaborator Willie Wolfe as a conspirator in the Hearst kidnapping. William Wolfe, alias Charles William Morgan, Cujo, was born in Pennsylvania; son of Dr. L.S. Wolfe, anesthesiologist. Wolfe had travelled for nine months in Europe before coming to Berkeley. [13]

Wolfe attended a UC Berkeley Black Studies class in “Black Lexicon,” under CIA contractor Professor Colston Westbrook, who would later bring Wolfe into Vacaville Medical Facility as a collaborator. Westbrook was the U.C. Berkeley outside facilitator of the Black Cultural Association (BCA), Dr. Hamilton’s secret MK ULTRA experiment cohort group funded by SRI.

Paul Cook’s liquidator, Maalik Al Maalik was also part of the U.C. Black Studies Department with Westbrook. Dr. Isaac Slaughter of the West Oakland Mental Health Clinic was the deliberating Elder and prison psychiatrist of BCA. Westbrook nor Wolfe had no known experience with prisoners, black friends, or radical movements, but Westbrook and Wolfe taught “black identity” to a prison study group at Vacaville. [14]

Wolfe lived at Peking House in Berkeley, the common meeting ground from which the illusory and veiled white “prison reformers” would spread into Vacaville Medical Facility, San Quentin, Folsom, Soledad and San Luis Obispo prisons. Wolfe was the common denominator that brought Russell Little, Robyn Steiner and other whites into the prison group. [15]

Wolfe attended Oakland School Board meetings and brought arguments against Dr. Marcus Foster into BCA prison discussions at Vacaville to incite black prisoners against Dr. Marcus Foster as a pretext to his assassination on November 6, 1973. [16]

In 1975, Pat Price, former naval intelligence officer, was assassinated in Las Vegas by food poisoning. Price became ill after a man accidentally bumped into hi

Another strange twist to the story is that SRI’s Scangate Remote Viewing Project was once Reichsfurhrer SS Heinrich Himmler’s secret ESP project. Remote viewing (out of body projection) was directly connected to the secret research and occult practices of the SS.[17]     

Russell Targ’s SCANATE PROJECT (Manchurian Candidate) programs were sub-contracted out to Lt. Col. John B. Alexander’s Psi-Tech. [18] A unit called Task Force Delta (TFD) was formed by Col. Alexander. It was related to FEB (First Earth Battalion) at Fort Lewis. Col. Alexander and Major General Albert Stubblebine helped organize the (FEB) First Earth Battalion which in fact sought to create a battalion of mind controlled “Jedi Warriors”. [19] Both have been interested in creating an elite soldier with very powerful paranormal abilities. FEB and TFD both evolved out of the SCANATE PROJECT, and the Novel Biological Information Transfer Mechanisms (NBIT). [20]

Co. Alexander also known as “Dr. Death” is an extremely scary individual.  He entered the US Army as a private in 1956. From 1966-1969, he commanded Special Forces ”A” Teams in Vietnam and Thailand. His teams are said to have been involved in Project Phoenix, an assassination campaign, along with Colston Westbrook. He received a Ph.D. in Thanatology, a study of the social and emotional aspects surrounding death. He married Victoria Lacas (Alexander), an abduction researcher and Las Vegas-based film reviewer/ journalist for the Devil’s Hammer. Victoria has written a comedy screenplay called BeDeviled, which is about a woman whose sister is having a love affair with the devil.  She has been photographed having dinner Edward Teller. She is a student of mysticism and of the South American ritual use of ayahuasca.

Col.  Alexander stated in an interview with the Washington Post in 2007, …The military and intelligence agencies were still scared by the excesses of MK-ULTRA, the infamous CIA program that involved, in part, slipping LSD to unsuspecting victims. “Until recently, anything that smacked of [mind control] was extremely dangerous” because Congress would simply take the money away, he said.  Alexander acknowledged that “there were some abuses that took place,” but added that, on the whole, “I would argue we threw the baby out with the bath water.” But September 11, 2001, changed the mood in Washington, and some in the national security community are again expressing interest in mind control, particularly a younger generation of officials who weren’t around for MK-ULTRA. “It’s interesting, that it’s coming back,” Alexander observed. 

TWENTY-THREE DAYS OF U.S. DOMESTIC TERRORISM

On Wednesday, October 2, 2002, House Speaker Dennis Hastert and Minority Leader Richard Gephardt introduced (H.J. Res. 114) to authorize the use of armed force against Iraq. It was referred to the International Relations Committee. On that day, there were two sniper attacks in the Washington D.C. area killing James Martin in a grocery store parking lot.

On Thursday, October 3, 2002, the bill was reported out of International Relations Committee for debate. On that day, sniper attacks continued killing 5 (five) people in 14 hours.

On Friday, October 4, 2002, the debate continued on H.J. Res. 114. On that day, a sniper shot and wounded a woman outside a craft store.

On Monday, October 7, 2002, the debate continued on H.J. Res. 114. On that day, a sniper shot and wounded a 13-year old arriving at school.

On Wednesday, October 9, 2002, the debate continued on H.J. Res. 114. On that day, a sniper shot and killed a man at a gas station.

October 10-11, H.J. Res. 114 passed both the House and the Senate. On the day it passed the Senate, a sniper shot and killed another man at a gas station.

On Monday, October 14, 2002, a sniper shot and wounded a FBI agent outside a store.

October 15-16, H.J. Res. 114, President George Walker Bush received and signed the bill into law.

On Saturday, October 19, 2002, a sniper shot and killed a man outside a Ponderosa Restaurant.

On Wednesday, October 23, 2002, on that that day, a sniper shot and killed a 35 year old bus driver. [21] As suspects, the police were looking for a white man driving a white van or truck.  

MUHAMMAD & MALVO BLACK “DUCKS IN A NOOSE”

After the death of the bus driver, Montgomery County Police Chief Charles Moose read a carefully drafted cryptic message to the snipers late that Wednesday night: “You have indicated you want us to say and do certain things. You want us to say, ‘We have caught the sniper like a duck in the noose.’ We understand that hearing us say it is important to you.”

A few hours after Chief Moose broadcasted the trigger, and police had issued an all-points bulletin for the suspects’ car, two Black virtual reality created Islamic subjects to scare the masses with another Islamic menace, John Allen Muhammad and John Lee Malvo, were found conveniently asleep in the wanted car, at a public rest stop, near I-70, a heavily-traveled Interstate highway.

When the attorney of John Lee Malvo asked him why he committed the alleged random killings, his answer was simple: The Matrix made him do it. Sources familiar with Malvo’s six-hour interview with Fairfax police Nov. 7, 2002 said he referred to “The Matrix” repeatedly. According to sources, he laughed when allegedly confessing his shootings – as if he didn’t believe that he had killed actual human beings.  

Malvo was not only obsessed with “The Matrix.” He was trapped inside “The Matrix.” His writings demonstrated that he wished people would free their minds from the matrix. The writings appear focused, in part, on “The Matrix.” “Free Your Mind! The Body Will Follow!” Malvo went on, “You are a slave to the Matrix ‘control,’ ” One page refers to Morpheus telling Neo: “Free first your mind, trust me! The body will follow!”

The writings were taken secretly from Malvo’s cell at the Fairfax County, Va., jail, photocopied and provided to investigators on the sniper task force preparing for the murder trial of Malvo, and John Allen Muhammad.

Chief Moose’s cryptic message was a trigger phrase used to put both Muhammad and Malvo into a post hypnotic sleep. If you watched the 1999 movie, “The Matrix”, you would instantly understand that Malvo was Neo, and Morpheus was John Allen Muhammad. In the MATRIX, Neo follows the white rabbit tattoo to Morpheus, who tells him: “You take the blue pill and the story ends.

“Follow the White Rabbit Neo.” – CAUGHT IN “The Matrix”

In “Alice in Wonderland,” Alice begins her journey by following the white rabbit who’s not happy to have her there, and who’s in quite a hurry to get somewhere. They tumble down the rabbit hole, and so it all begins. Neo is told to follow the “White Rabbit” in The Matrix in one of many metaphysical “waking up” metaphors. Seconds later, his doorbell rings, and when he opens the door he finds a woman with a tattoo of a white rabbit on her shoulder. Later in the film right before he meets the oracle one can see Night of the Lepus playing on a nearby television, symbolizing Neo’s decision to “follow the white rabbit” and to disturb the order of the Matrix.

In some cases, the “white rabbit’” is a mind control programmer. If we follow the white rabbit, it would lead you to Fort Lewis, Tacoma, Washington. Some of the Col. John B. Alexander’s Psi-Tech operations of FEB and TFD were run out of Ft. Lewis, Washington. John Allen Muhammad (Williams), was a soldier being run out of Ft. Lewis. Muhammad may have been one of FEB’s experimental remote controlled Jedi mind controlled soldiers implanted with a “Morpheus Complex.”  

Muhammad has all the treadmarks of a governmental assassin. Without any visible means of support, he had been able to travel to foriegn counties, and at least 10 states. He even had a travel agent or a handler posing as a travel agent. He was able to purchase weapons, ammo, laptop computer, and GPS system. He bought a car and gas. Most glaring of all, he had been stopped by police on numerous occasions, but each time that Muhammad was stopped and investigated, he sort of got a pat on the back and a license to continue on his mission.  In Antigua, Muhammad boasted of being a CIA and FBI agent.  Muhammad also said that he was member of an elite Special Forces team on a secret mission. Malvo, he said, was part of the team.

During the 23 days of Terror, John Allen Muhammad’s license number had been entered into the FBI database eleven times during the span of the shootings with no information on any arrests or convictions showing. [22]

Information missing from that database includes the following. Muhammad was arrested three times for possession of false I.D., once in Antigua (where he was allowed to walk away from the police station after being held for two days). He was caught twice in Florida with false I.D. and trying to smuggle aliens into the country. He was not held. [23]

In the State of Washington he had a conviction for driving on a suspended license. There was also a warrant for his arrest for failure to appear on a shoplifting charge. Also in Washington his ex-wife had obtained a person protection order from the court, which made it illegal for him to possess a firearm and was the basis for the arrest warrant issued on October 23^rd. [24]

In addition, Muhammad was courts martialed twice when in the Louisiana National guard. Once for disobeying three direct orders to report for duty and the second for striking a non-commissioned officer. On the first offense he was fined $100 and reduced in rank to a specialist. He got a suspended sentence for hitting his sergeant. [25]

Strangest of all was an incident in the 1991 Gulf war when Muhammad was accused of rolling a hand grenade into a tent where a number of his fellow soldiers were. He was led away in handcuffs but nothing further was heard and it apparently does not show on his service record. [26]

In the military, John Allen Muhammad was either a “bad ass” passive-aggressive type able to kill without any regrets ripe for conditioning for special covert assassination assignments, or he was already one of their protected experimental special services programmed (killer) boys ready for the next level, a psychic level in “The Matrix.” 

A Global Positioning System (GPS) device was found in Muhammad’s possession when arrested with Malvo. E-Systems of Texas developed the GPS device. Raytheon, one of the largest military industrial complexes’ contractors, acquired E-Systems.  

Ultra secret E-System’s core business was focused on intelligence, reconnaissance and surveillance, which includes systems for law enforcement, which can intercept faxed messages, telephone calls, modem transfers, and video transmissions on a single system in eavesdropping by the government. Their Global Positioning System (GPS) technologies (satellite based) can locate objects anywhere in the world within one foot of the object’s actual location. [27]

E-Systems acquired ARCO Power Technologies Incorporated (APTI). APIT developed the High Frequency Active Auroral Program (HAARP). HAARP involves making man-made changes in the electrical earth ionosphere that can be used for individual and mass behavior control. Extremely low frequency electromagnetic (ELF) oscillations can attack and control low frequency electromagnetic brain waves in human beings. HAARP’s perturbation of the environment by ELF geophysical warfare can produce changes in, and control behavior patterns.  [28]

So you have it. Under the influence of HAARP, Muhammad and Malvo could be summoned to follow the white rabbit to various locations around the U.S. with the GPS device where FEB and TFD (Project Northwoods) sniper teams were setup to pick off innocent human targets to terrorize the masses to mask the Iraqi aggression and create an illusory strong-arm fascist state to fight off a sham Islamic menace.

Muhammad and Malvo have become some of the first 21^st Century Remote-Controlled Black Manchurian Candidate Domestic Terrorist “Patsies” programmed to be trapped inside the “Matrix.”  In the final criteria, the disposal of the Manchurian Candidate after operations, both Muhammad and Malvo were convicted of capital murder in the Washington, D.C., area sniper attacks that left 10 people dead in four states.

John Allen Muhammad, Morpheus, was sentenced to death, while his 19-year-old accomplice Lee Boyd Malvo, Neo, was given life in prison without parole. While Malvo did not speak at his sentencing, Muhammad, 43, asserted his innocence, saying, “I had nothing to do with this.”  Who will listen? They intend to liquidate Muhammad as soon as possible as like Marinus Van der Lubbe, “The Nazi’s Patsy” Domestic Terrorist.

For Malvo, hypnotically deeply imbedded and lost mentally and psychologically in “The Matrix”, the story will never end for him because the man, his Morpheus, with the blue pill will never be able to come to his aid.  His final story will end locked away in a mental institutional unless a qualified psychiatrist can deprogram him. Then, who will listen?

In the final analysis, John Allen Muhammad probably had been a good soldier. As Sebron Flenaugh, Jr., their Yoda had been Reagan’s richly endowed STRATEGIC DEFENSE INITATIVE PROJECT (Star War Initiative) that continually fund Lt. Col. John B. Alexander’s secret Psi (psychokinesis, etc), mind control and paranormal experiments and programs of Reichsfurhrer Heinrich Himmler’s SS against unwitting citizens to create weapons of mass destruction and zombie robot armies.  It is not too far out of the box to believe that as Flenaugh, Muhammad had volunteered to help his country in an experimental secret governmental program.

But what these brothers and many more had no way of knowing was that the very enemy that this country openly identified and accepted as universal war criminals and mass murderers, enemies of world peace such as the Nazis and the SS (The World’s Greatest Racial Mass Murder Cult) were secretly brought into the country to make prey of them and their children; and their children’s children.

Sexta-feira, dia para celebrar o final de semana. A linda dama do lagoa, acima, é Angelina Jolie em Beowulf. A história original é muito melhor, mas vale a pena assistir ao filme apenas para não ver a Angelina – porque o filme todo foi feito em computação gráfica (CG), então não é mesmo ela.

O filme teve o roteiro escrito por Neil Gaiman e Roger Avary. Gaiman, para quem não sabe, é o autor de vários best sellers e escreveu ou criou o roteiro de vários filmes como Beowulf, Stardust, Caroline e Mirrormask. Seus livros também são uma ótima leitura, tenho vários. Mas o que eu realmente acho sensacional foi o quadrinho criado por ele, chamado Sandman.

As histórias são focadas em Morpheus, o Senhor dos Sonhos, e suas aventuras. Também conhecido como Sandman. Ele é um dos Perpétuos. Os Perpétuos são sete irmãos que controlam o destino da humanidade, manifestações antropomórficas de aspectos comuns a todos os seres vivos. não são deuses, mas sim entidades além, responsáveis pelo ordenamento da realidade conhecida. Só sua existência mantém coeso o universo físico e todos os seres vivos.

O Reino de Morpheus é onde estão ligadas todas as mentes de todos os seres vivos, é para lá que vão as almas de todos que dormem e onde são guardadas lembranças e pensamentos do período do sono. O Reino guarda também o mundo imaginário de cada sonhador, várias realidades alternativas e seres imaginários que lá se escondem. Sua biblioteca abriga bilhões de livros que nunca foram escritos. Toda a sanidade mental dos seres depende da boa administração desse reino – já que a realidade física do universo e mental dos seres também depende de nada sair de um lado para o outro – e Sandman executa suas funções de maneira magistral.

Uma curiosidade: os Perpétuos, em inglês, começam todos com a letra “D” – Destino, Morte, Sonho, Destruição, Desejo, Desespero e Delírio
Destino (Destiny), a preferida entre nove de 10 leitores, a Morte (Death), Sonho (Dream), Destruição (Destruction) os gêmeos Desespero (Despair) e Desejo e Delírio (Delírium). Eles existem desde a aurora dos tempos e acredita-se que estão entre as criaturas mais poderosas (ou pelo menos influentes) do universo Sandman.
