Last night was Opeth and it was as rough, brutal and beautiful as promised. I suppose it didn’t quite hit me as hard as last time since I had some concept of what it was like to be in a crowd like that, but it was still intense.

Despite the roughness of the crowd, the atmosphere was great, everyone was very friendly; people helped each other up, someone apparently picked up another person’s watch which had fallen, etc. Great crowd, makes me proud, sniff, etc.

The band were, of course, amazing. They started with Windowpane, one of their softer songs, which was great, everyone enjoyed it, it was very chilled and cool. Then they played the opening for Ghost of Perdition and it went nuts, crazy fun jumping around. They played a lot of great songs, a nice mix, and they ended with Deliverance, which was insanely good.

Mikael was, as always, hilarious and got the crowd going well. THE HOOK!

Anyway, I don’t have much more to say other than that it was a great concert, a great crowd, a great band.

Another thing. The hardcore gig scene has changed so much. Even just going to see Bishop opened my eye to really how bad things have gotten. What is all this head banging?! Your not at Metallica…

Recently a few friends went to see Confession. I only heard bad things like ‘band played crap, the kid’s at gigs suck, sick of people being idiots, too many metalheads and goths etc etc’

Not only that but kids doing drugs at straight edge gigs. I don’t get it. Show some respect and put that white power away… not up your snoz.

I don’t know what’s happened but things just arn’t as good as what they used to be. This saddens me.

I don’t give a shit about anything anymore! YAY! A wise kid told me one time.. “if you focus only think constantly about one thing you wont have it.. But if you want it but don’t care as much and count on it, it’ll come”.. Of course he was refuring to a drop item on World Of Warcraft BUT I don’t care;  right now honestly I wish I had more to do but you know, I don’t and maybe I don’t have the amount of friends I used too, but I have damn good ones, and I won’t toss that aside. I know where im headed in life even if im going to become a vagabond.. I know that by next year i’ll be in college again; finishing off my degree and you know what? I know it’s a really competitive market.. BUT, I won’t let it stop me.. The best loan I can take out is a student loan and im going for my bachelors! FUCK YEAH. You can’t worry about what you can’t control you have nothing to control it and no power to stop it; you should not proceed to stop yourself with worries and stress over something you can’t control for you’ll end up in the same position digging a ditch. I’m not going to work shitty jobs anymore; im ambitious and I just don’t give a fuck honestly; im not going to coupe myself up and just forget, i’ll become a bartender in a second, why? because fucking shit im in your face im great, and I can drink you under the table. I’ll become a coffee attender.. Why? Because im polite enough and can drink coffee all day.. except in my booze, a “speed ball” not worth it.. TRUST ME. Anyways, fuck, why not be rewarded for following myself and being who I am.. Now im not some fucking hippie as motherfucker who is like well im not changing for the whole conformist blah blah blah suck it.. Im just saying im 22, I put college on hold and that’s fine, you know, I had experiences that I learned from and im sure people do it ALL the time, but it’s never to late to pick up something and rise back up. Worse come to worse, hell i’ll work retail for my life, but i’ll make sure it’s something I desire, there’s this huge rush you know? You go into high school and they sit you down and all they do is preach and preach about College.. And it’s like, look, im scared shitless being in HIGH SCHOOL let alone to think about college.. Kids life is short, too short, the sad thing is, everyone has probably even lost a friend through out grade school.. It sucks, I know I did, he was a great guy, but im just saying all in all.. Is find a passion, find a music genre you like, take it day by day, if you look at the big picture too much you’ll be inspired every so often, but if you do it too much you’ll loose track of the path you were standing on and forget which direction you need to go first. Now, I know I say don’t be scared and im going to be honest yeah, you’re gonna have shitty days for the rest of your life, you’ll look at your life sometimes and feel like shit and be like wtf am I doing?! Honestly I do it all the time because my best friend refuses to go out unless it’s to meet highschool chicks.. Come on dude.. This isn’t dazed and confused. But you know what? Im poor, I don’t flaunt it, but I am, everyday it’s a new thing, even if I don’t leave my shell, fuck it, a day of life is still a day of life.. I take happiness in the small things, hey, if I can go out for a beer with my friends, if I can just meet someone new, and or just experience a passion of mine which would be music.. I guess im off topic, but just look at it this way, don’t loose sight of where you’re going, so do what makes you happy I really hate watching people wreck themselves and say well if I would of  done this if I would of done that no! NO! Fuck that! NO, you grab yourself a case of the fuck its and you do it anyways! It’s never to late, just don’t forget to take one day of the same old shit and put a spin on it. It sucks but im a shy ass motherfucker and that’s all about to change haha. Now if you’ll excuse me, next month I have a HUGE loan to take out. P.S. money is a pain in the ass, DONT think about will this job give me money, YES money can buy happiness and sex and whatever the fuck you want, but whats it honestly matter when the people out there who work the everyday jobs can just be like OH you’ll never guess what so and so did ect.

Fall Out Boy in Manila

An old vid of mine from 2007… So this is me, reminiscing a great weekend. What could be better than skipping class, flying to Manila for a FOB concert, and celebrating my 20th birthday with awesome friends? Yep, nothing…

Oh well maybe seeing my friends getting wayyyy drunk for my 21st and 22nd birthdays. Blackouts anyone? It’s easy to laugh when you’re either sober or can’t remember the “things best left forgotten” (a la The Hangover).

On the other hand, Sweet as Revenge(Indonesia) was boring as hell, I yawned three times and left halfway during their set.

Yeah, I’m not exactly 25. But what embarrasses me is when I see older people drinking in excess. Combine a sense of entitlement, “I know better than you” and some poorly metabolized alcohol, you’ve got a recipe for some epic stupidity.

Case in point – I’m walking around, watching people for odd behavior. I see a group of older guys, some sporting grey at the temples, others not  – doing shots. Not that I want to be the arbiter of who drinks or not, but I immediately knew that this was going to be the bullet train to stupidville.

Later, some punk music was playing – and I shit you not – these guys try to ‘mosh’ with each other. It basically consisted of their shorter, more drunken friend being bounced around like a ball between two seals. Two very drunk and elderly seals. I let this go on for a few minutes, then I decided to do the “Give a Warning” approach.

I take the guys aside and explain that their drunken dwarf friend has had the most of all of them, and I’m cutting him off – giving them the chance to stay, basically, if they behave.

They promise up and down that they will “Respect the place” (uh, what?) and won’t have him drink any more tonight. Less than a few minutes pass, and I stalk by seeing them giving that guy a fresh shot…..really? You didn’t even care to adhere to the warning, you old bastards?

I threw them all out, then and there. The best part is the blustering and “Oh *I’LL NEVER COME HERE AGAIN*” coupled with the usual “AND I’LL TELL ALL MY FRIENDS TOO~!!” speech.

Save it – if your friends are anything like you guys, we don’t need your business….

Eu odeio pessoas que criticam quando não sabem sobre o assunto, petulância minimizada. Eu sou uma mulher e vou lá no mundo sujo beber minha bera e gritar com eles, sejam novos ou velhos no ‘bagulho‘. Se os novos ainda não tem a consciência do que estão apoiando, ao menos estão no caminho certo. E não defendo só uma cena ou uma multidão de fãs fiéis, eu respeito qualquer maneira de ver o mundo, se isso te fizer viver. Só quero que você respeite a minha opinião ok
Eu não me sinto errada em sentir esse friozinho na barriga toda vez que tenho a oportunidade de ver as minhas bandas preferidas tocar, eu me preparo toda, isso sim. Influêncio pessoas pra irem, conhecerem e tudo mais. Um monte de gente podre anda pra cima e pra baixo dizendo orgulhosas sobre si mesmas que não ‘gostam mais disso’, ou que já passaram dessa fase. Quer saber? Não me importa quantos anos passem, essa é uma coisa preciosa pra mim, é uma dádiva. Não me peça pra conviver com alguém que não saiba respeitar essa cena tanto quanto eu, que faça por ela tudo o que está ao seu alcançe, que grite aquelas letras enfurecidamente e chegue em casa sem voz… É isso que eu faço.
Aquelas garotinhas loucas pra abrir as pernas em troca de uma baqueta ou algo do gênero, cerveja quente na mão e suor; perder os tênis mosh-ando e ‘dando giros’ na galera. Não importa, esse mundo me encanta.. É mágica pura. “É um monte de adolescente burro se esbofetando” – “Isso gera violência” – Ah! Por favor né, se a gente pula e se empurra embaixo do palco é por algo maior, mas não espero que você saiba disso se nunca esteve lá.. Auto -destruição é quando você veste essas tuas roupinhas rídiculas, dropa teus doces e dança que nem um retardado a noite toda; eu não vou lá criticar você por isso, né?
A diferença disso tudo é respeito. A gente ‘berra’ as letras dos nossos ‘ídolos’ e aprende com elas, porque gritamos sobre convivência, sobre sobrevivência. É falar sobre autonomia, sociedade e até amor. É sentir na pele o arrepio por ver de perto o teu cantor favorito, porque o ‘cara é foda‘, ele sabe do que tá falando e merece todo o esforço que fazemos no meio da galera fervendo pra pegar o ‘feeling‘ do cara encima do palco.

Se eu gosto de 10 bandas nacionais só, não quer dizer que não de o valor que cada uma merece. Gosto não se discute e eu gosto mesmo é do hardcore, daquele com pegada. Poucas bandas nacionais me fazer ferver de tesão quando escuto, mas as que fazem, fazem bem. Cito nomes como Dead Fish, Garage Fuzz, Reffer, Street Bulldogs e esse último CD do Sugar Kane fez com que eles mereçam estar aqui. Quase esqueci de Ratos de Porão! Se você não gosta disso tanto quanto eu, é capaz que nunca tenha ouvido falar nesses nomes, talvez nem goste do que eles fazem… Eu posso respeitar isso. Agora, se você gostar… apoie isso, faça tudo o que você pode a favor disso. É o que vai estender a mão pra você sempre que você buscar, vai te ensinar a ser mais humano e ver o mundo de outro ângulo.
Eu gosto de bandas antigas, como Down by Law, Descendents e Boucing Souls. Gosto de gente fazendo música boa, da esperança em ser melhor e mudar o mundo. Eu gosto é desse espírito que sempre se renova, com uma letra bem escrita e um instrumental incansável. É ‘lyfestyle’, não é ter atitude em si, essa palavra acabou preenchendo lacunas que não deveria e perdeu um pouco do seu significado real, o que vale é como agir. É como você se comporta da hora que acorda até a que vai dormir, é a tua postura.
Por isso antes de atravessar a rua quando me ver toda “marginal” andando ali, cale a boca e ouça (de verdade!) aquilo que eu grito pelos corredores da minha casa. Senão vai dizer que eu visto minha calça apertada de couro e mostro as minhas tatuagens pra chamar a atenção. Se eu sou assim, é porque eu quero que você saiba com que ‘tipinho de gente‘ está lidando, alguém que não tem medo de mostrar todo o amor por esse mundo aleatório, que tem as suas falhas e nem sempre se mostra funcional, mas vai lá no fundo da minha alma e me devolve em suspiros sinceros todo o esforço )e preconceito) que tenho que superar por VIVER ASSIM. Por isso mesmo com a cara amassada e a bunda doendo das horas que fico dentro do ônibus pra chegar até lá, eu não paro de correr átras do lugar abafado e das bandas da minha playlist, porque quando eu chego lá.. Reconheço rostos, eu sinto vontade que aquilo nunca acabe, eu me sinto viva de verdade.

Generalizar é fácil demais, o difícil é encontrar algo pra substituir o rock’nroll na tua alma depois que ele é pregado lá. Quero casar, transar e morrer com ele. Não importa o que você diga, é isso que me move, que me faz acordar e correr.
Faça isso.

This time pics only as it is quite late and I have to be at work at 6 o’clock which means I have only 6 hours of sleeping left! The concert was held in a really small club which made it quite intense Unfortunately we missed the first band but I will have the chance to see them again. Grave Maker and This Is Hell are great bands which give a lot of fun and energy on their concerts so be sure to see them if you have the chance!

2009 július 22-26ig adott otthont a debreceni Nagyerdő a Campusz fesztiválnak. Valószínűleg azért érintem a témát mert én is ott voltam… Nehéz lenne megfogalmazni milyennek is láttam számomra nem volt meg az igazi fesztivál hangulat mivel hajnalban haza tudtam menni saját ágyamban aludtam értelmes kaját ettem, meleg vízben fürödtem és teljesen minden fajta komfort megvolt az életembe. Nah hát nézzük napok szerint mit és hogyan…

Az elsőnap:
A koncertek sora aznap számomra egyik ismerősömék koncertjével indult…utána megjelentem természetesen Subscribe-on ahol iszonyatosan jó volt a pogó (fesztivál utan csodálkoztam is hogy mért fáj mindenem meg mért vok tele kék zöld foltokkal), ez után elmentünk valamerre már nem igazán emlékszem rég volt, nah mind1 volt még aznap ladánybene 27 ami eléggé lazulós party zene. Ezek közben természetesen tetemes mennyiségű sört megittunk egyik kedves barátommal és más fajta alkohol is legurult a torkunkon úgy hogy az éjfélkor kezdődő Dévényi Tibi bácsin ismerösök tömegével összefutva együtt tomboltunk a retro zenére… haza út érdekes volt át estem egy padon, meg ilyenek… de mindent összevetve elég jó volt az elsö nap is…

Második nap – Péntek:
Ezen a napon egyik kedves hölgy nemű ismerősömmel tettem látogatást a fesztiválra, nah hát ez mókás volt folytattuk a tegnapit ittunk persze egy keveset és és és ITT SZERETTEM meg az Irrie Maffiát akkor jó bulit csináltak… utána nem tudom mi volt de drágalátos ismerősöm kicsit túl kapta a piától:D így hát ásványvíz kajált … nah mind1 elkerültem Depresszió koncertre ahol valamelyik okos rocker olyat rúgott rám acélbetkóssal hogy azt hittem össze esek, a következö koncert a Brains volt amelynek egész jó zenéje van mindent összevetve…itt a hazaúton semmi nem történt mert kocsival mentünk haza, jah de annyi ahogy beszálltunk mert értünk jöttek nem mentünk 1 utcányit máris igazoltattak minket a rend bátor őrei…

Harmadik nap szombat:
Nah erről a napról azt kell tudni hogy ezt vártam a Campusz fesztiválon a legjobban… Skafunderz (ami számomra egy rossz ómen sose tudom utána mi is történik) Kaukázus (linkelek is egy vagy több számot majd a post végén) PASO , Tankcsapda és Mystery Gang… két barátommal indultunk el nah már most ez azért volt mókás mert az odafele út se zajlott zökenő mentessen nem akartak minket felengedni a villamosra mondván a villamos vezető hogy részegek vagyunk és hogy nyitva van a sörünk , nah mind1 az a lényeg megérkeztünk ott voltunk jól éreztük magunkat a villamos vezetőnek meg ez legyen a legnagyobb öröme az életben kívánom innen neki. háhá

A Kaukázus megint kitett magáért mivel pont akkor kezdett el szakadni az eső így a sátorban mozdulni se lehetett áhh nagyon jó volt . Bár pár zenekedvelő idősebb egyén kicsit furán nézett rám mikor az alkoholtól megveszve… a dalszöveget a torkom szakadtából ahogy bírtam az együttessel énekeltem.

Mindent összevetve nem is volt ez annyira rossz. Az egyetlen problémám vele hogy csak olyan együttesek voltak szinte (amiket szeretik is) hogy az év folyamán akár többször is fellépnek a városban. Mi sem bizonyítja jobban … hogy Szeptember 11ikén Skafunderz koncerten voltam. Előtte egy hétfői napon pedig Mystery Gangen… nah mind1 a nyárnak egy nem is rossz része volt.

Hey again, it’s me, melancholy girl.

So I still don’t know what to do with this blog. Do I use it as a diary that everyone can read or do I just use it to pour my heart out and hope someone will take pity on me? Ah well.

I neglected to mention in my first post about my ‘List of Things To Do in 2009′ which I obviously wrote in ‘08. It’s composed of 65 items of which I would like to complete this year but so far I’ve only completed a dismal 22.  I’m thinking of maybe posting it up here sometime soon…. Hmm…
I was reading the list over at about 4pm yesterday and saw that I still hadn’t been to see a band live at all. So I searched up on the wonderful world of Google for gigs in my area and, lo and behold, there was a band I was pretty familiar with.
So, I went with some friends there in order to cross one more off. Skindred were pretty epic. Their support bands, Karnivol and DeadByApril, were really awesome too. I lost one of my Loveless badges and my MisaMisa badge from my bag strap but I took my anger out over that in the ‘mosh pit’ and pretty much punched some guy. All in all, I had a really good night but there was someone I was going to meet there but didn’t/couldn’t.

We met on this University-style  Facebook-esque website called YouGo which is the shortened version of You Go Further, implying everyone will go straight to Uni and not drop out and become McDonald’s workers. But anyway, back on point. We were in the anime society forum talking about which Uni’s had them and which ones didn’t. He mentioned his Uni did and I asked where it was and he was pretty near and he offered to meet sometime. I said I was going to this gig and coincidentally so was he for his journalism article.

But basically, due to my lack of confidence, wherever he text me that he was, I pretty much made sure I wasn’t. *sigh* I’m such a retard for that kind of thing.

But as a product of talking to someone new, I’ve been introduced to three new anime/ manga:
- Skip Beat
- Boys Next Door
- Junjou Romantica
So, I’ll probably post again soon just to say how good/bad they are. I’m looking forward to the second one, the description about it made me want to buy it straight away and read it now but, alas, I can’t. Due to lack of funds and my inability to try and find a job, I’m living off of EMA and I’m taking driving lessons too. Sucks.

I need to do some work now but I’ll probably go back upstairs to my room to try and complete RockBand I and II before I have to give it back to my friend.

Anthrax is a New York City-based thrash metal band that released its first full-length album in 1984. Tak jelas kapan titik tolak indie scene (indie dalam konteks musikal. Shit, kami muak membicarakan term ini lagi) di kota Semarang dimulai. Panggung-panggung bawah tanah mereka di tahun 90-an—seperti kota-kota lainnya—banyak diisi dari band-band melodic punk, hardcore, punk rock, dan—yang selalu ada di belahan dunia manapun (bahkan sampai pelosok Dubai!), metal dan grindcore. Beberapa penggiat era awal (kalau tidak mau dibilang pelopor) adalah band-band berisik dan cepat semacam Radical Corps, Suck Eat Fruit, Ejakulator, Clinic (Nuki, manager Bangkutaman adalah former musician di band punk ini), lalu terselip si jenius visioner elektronika di awal tahun 2000-an, Terror Incognita (yang kini memilih noise sebagai metode keseniannya). Tentu ini adalah analisis general dan sok tahu berdasarkan pandangan mata yang cuma sebentar dan membangun jalinan persahabatan dengan para scenester awal di kota yang indah itu.

OK Karaoke

Tahun-tahun berganti. Seiring sangat mudahnya akses anak-anak muda di Indonesia pada khususnya, dan Semarang, khususnya, terhadap musik-musik yang sulit didapatkan di record store, kecuali di internet, mulailah terlihat geliat musik-musik “letih” (begitu istilah kami untuk menggambarkan indie pop, indie rock, dan lingkungannya) di panggung-panggung kecil, selain hentakan metal-core dan emo yang juga ramai di kota itu. Diisi dengan orang-orang yang sangat solid karena jumlahnya tidak banyak, media yang “terbatas” tapi habis-habisan mengulas band-band “anak negeri”-nya (Mosh dan Semarangonfire, serta radioshow Cuttingedge di Trax FM, Semarang), scene tersebut bergerak cepat dan memiliki pengikut setia. Band-band seperti OK Karaoke (yang diisi oleh orang-orang “lama” di scene Semarang), Le Bench, Wiwiek and Friends, Hello Stereo, ritmeSEMU, dan Ceriakan Hatiku bisa dibilang penyulut awal indie scene di sana. Rilisan Sail Off the Storm dari OK Karaoke di tahun 2008 disinyalir menjadi sumbu awal scene ini selain penampilan panggung dari band-band yang telah disebutkan di atas. Di tengah (atau di stagnannya?) geliat menyenangkan tersebut, Lipstik Lipsing (LL), ditemani dengan band-band gelombang baru asal Semarang mengisi panggung independen di kota tersebut.

Lipstik Lipsing

Lipstik Lipsing, (menurut info yang saya dapatkan dari kero copy, nickname dari pembuat artwork bernuansa arsitektural untuk EP ini) awalnya adalah sebuah one-man project pemalu yang berasal dari dalam kamar, diam-diam membuat materi yang saat ini akhirnya terangkum dalam Room For Outside dan dirilis terbatas dalam kemasan digipack yang cantik, dalam format full band di panggung dan “sedikit” bantuan drum machine saat rekaman. Wasted Rockers pertama kali mengenal “band” ini dari kero copy, duta besar Semarang scene yang habis-habisan meracuni kami atas rekomendasi-rekomendasi gilanya sekaligus penghubung informasi gosip-gosip underground Semarang-Bandung dan Bandung-Semarang.

Suburban Love, lagu yang pertama kali kami dengar dari LL; sedari awal kami mendengarnya, kami sudah tahu lagu itu sangat ramah telinga tapi tetap punya value yang baik bagi pendengarnya. Komposisi bermodalkan drum-machine (yang kami curigai berasal dari software ilegal, tipikal bedroom musician anak negeri) berketukan 4/4 dengan gitar yang soft-sounded menghantarkan aura tak muluk-muluk namun tepat menonjok kami. Tak berhenti sampai di aransemen, LL turut memerhatikan lirik sebagai fondasi utama musiknya. Mengapa kami sebut sebagai fondasi utama? Mereka menjalinnya dengan cukup rapi dengan senjata berupa english yang ringan, tetapi tidak picisan. Poin penting di musik LL.

Simak saja bagaimana songwriter-nya dengan pintar menggabungkan ketukan dengan rhyme dan beat di dalam lirik itu sendiri pada lagu Early Express di part pertama, “You can hear the whistles blown a thousand miles away from home” atau chorus rupawan dibalut lirik galau yang mahal di Puertorico, “you lost without a place, i’m lonely in a space”. Beberapa lagunya terbiarkan instrumental. Entah malas untuk mengisi lirik atau mengisi sisa track di dalam CD, yang pasti LL mampu membayar “kosongnya” lirik tersebut di lagu-lagu lainnya dengan aura yang terdengar dingin namun colorful. Di mata kuliah Stilistika, ada yang disebut “kesan” dalam sebuah kata. Kalau ada dua kata dihadapkan pada kami: cengeng dan sentimentil, maka kami akan memilih sentimentil untuk menggambarkan kesan lirikal mini album ini agar menjaganya tetap elegan, tidak murahan atas kejeniusan musikal yang mereka miliki.

Kalau ada teori bahwa karakter lagu-lagu di sebuah scene bergantung dari “di mana” mereka membuatnya, sepertinya teori tersebut runtuh karena rilisan ini dan sebelumnya (maaf, kami hanya bisa mencatat rilisan OK Karaoke, Sail Off the Storm, sebagai rilisan lainnya tersebut). Aura yang ditampilkan LL malah berkesan dingin, teralienasi, dan soft. Ini malah jauh berbeda dengan karakter kota Semarang yang panas dan jamak (apalagi kalau dengan minuman tradisionalnya yang “kencang” itu!). Bisa saja teori tersebut benar kalau konteksnya lebih ke mikrokosmos songwriter-nya yang berasal dari ciptaan-ciptaan “iseng” hasil meditasi sendu lewat komputer pribadinya.

Berdasar dari dua contoh kasus (materi-materi di Sail Off the Storm dan Room For Outside EP): walaupun terbilang masih sangat muda, indie scene Semarang jauh sangat mementingkan kualitas daripada kuantitas. Mini album OK Karaoke tahun lalu membuai kami telak-telak, Room For Outside pun begitu. Mereka hadir dengan warnanya sendiri yang (bisa saja) di-compile dari inspirasi atau kiblat bermusiknya tanpa terdengar menjadi tukang franchise sound-sound idolanya dengan hasil yang butut dan super-generik. Adalah hal yang menyenangkan bagi Wasted Rockers menemukan materi-materi yang bisa jadi heavy rotation di telinga kami seperti OK Karaoke dan LL di antara playlist lagu-lagu yang kami pilih secara sangat selektif dari pedalaman Jamaika sampai pelosok Islandia, dari ujung Aceh sampai perbatasan Papua dengan Nugini (maaf, kami tidak banyak mendapat referensi musik dari Antartika tenggara dan Jonggol bagian barat).

Waktu mengunjungi Semarang dalam rangkaian Super Punk Rock Tour bulan Mei lalu, kami melihat langsung bagaimana scenester dan scene di sana. Band-band seperti Privacy, Genetic Fake Purple, He Ivy, dan Terror/Incognita mengejutkan dan sukses membuat kami ompong dan kopong padahal kami datang dari kota yang katanya memiliki referensi musik terdepan dengan scene tertua di Indonesia. Justru di panggung yang panas, total penonton yang tidak banyak, minuman tradisionalnya yang bisa membuat anak indie pop tiba-tiba berubah menjadi black metal, dan teman-teman yang berbahasa planet lah, kami malah menemukan musik-musik bagus dengan sound identitasnya sendiri; sebuah gelombang “baru” dari kota jauh yang tetap percaya bahwa kualitas adalah harga mati. – Gem

p.s. tulisan ini dibuat atas beberapa kegelisahan: (1) saya belum sempat berbicara sedikitpun mengenai band-band yang ditonton di Super Punk Rock Tour edisi Semarang, (2) hutang review LL yang lama tertunda dan kekaguman atas band ini, (3) makin menggilanya band-band franchise sound yang hasilnya butut dan kampungan di Indonesia, (4) persembahan (sayangnya beranalisis rendahan) untuk sahabat-sahabat di Semarang, you know who you are! Maaf, cuma ini yang bisa saya berikan untuk kalian.

Umpihumalainen Venäjän presidentti yritti tilata taksia, joka toisi hänelle pizzaa. Jeltsin oli jollain ilveellä onnistunut toikkaroimaan Pennsylvania Avenuelle asti, josta Salaisen palvelun miehet löysivät hänet.

Erikoinen välikohtaus tapahtui vuonna 1995. Siitä kerrotaan uudessa kirjassa The Clinton Tapes. Wrestling History with the President.

Today was my 1st time doing Jury Duty. I’m not sure how I felt about it really. At least it was a nice morning… but by the afternoon I was SO tired that I could barely keep my eyes open.

I saw Francisco there. We talked mad dirt!

Well luckily, I don’t have to be back tomorrow. Francisco does. BAHAHAHA! ..haha
After that, I went home, made Mandy a mix cd and took a lil disco nap.

I headed into the city around 7:30 for the Paper Magazine Nixon Art Mosh Party (long-ass title..) It was pretty cool! I ran into a lot of people I haven’t seen in a while.

I thought it was definetly necessary to share with you the events which occured on the best day of my life. You might think that was an exaggeration, but no, really, I had the most fun I’ve had in my lifetime yesterday.

We started off the day by catching the train down, nothing to interesting, but when we arrived there we found it was thirty degrees, and absolutely boiling.
I moshed my little heart out that day, gave chips away to people, lay in the foetal position to avoid being trampled, got saved by the guy I fell ‘in love’ with, took lots of photo’s, got squashed so badly I could barely breathe, laughed a lot, got very, very dirty, danced in a massive circle, got pulverised on the bar at Does it Offend You, Yeah? and touched the guitarist’s ass. -sigh- I also spend the day with a great group of people and listened to wonderful music.

The people you meet at these festival’s, are hilarious. e.g.
‘If I played you a song on the violin, would you think that was sexy?’

Who knows where that came from. There’s also a LOT of gropy gropersons out there, but I suppose you get used to it after the one thousandth time, hah.

So today I had two assessments due; one was an 800 word essay for english, and the other was one a quarter page of hand-written notes for geography. I still have my pdh, religion, elective history, photography, music and the remaining of my geography assignments to complete. I actually probably have more than that to do, however I’ve just forgotten. Stress stress stress.

Tomorrow, I hope I don’t have to go to school for the whole day. I want to go for the morning since I have a double period of photography, omnomnom, but I need to take my iPod to the Apple store in the city because basically, it’s fucked. It’ll let me scroll and whatnot however absolutely none of the buttons work when I press them, and it won’t even let me reset it. I took it to a local Apple store however they said it’s non-repairable because apparently it has something to do with the motherboard in my iPod, and they do not have the parts to replace it. They also attempted to replace the circular object over the buttons, but it didn’t fix anything. Unfortunately, the warranty expired last month. I need music on the bus for school! Fml.

I’m also seeing The Red Shore tomorrow night. I was initially going especially for For The Fallen Dreams, however they dropped out and got replaced by xThe Warx. I don’t even know why. I was so unbelievably, indescribably disappointed because I haven’t gotten the chance to see them live before. Hopefully they come back out again soon. One of my favourite Sydney hardcore bands, Shinto Katana are supporting tomorrow night so it should still be enjoyable. (By now you’ve probably figured out that I’m not really a big fan of The Red Shore)
