It’s that wonderful time of the year again. Cycleworld’s moto show came earlier on the schedule this year. The show was noticeably smaller this year, definitely due to the economy and the fact that Buell and KTM weren’t present. But there were still a few nice surprises. I also want to apologize in advance for the blurry pictures; my photography skills are, well, I don’t have any. Coming off of work tired and overcaffeinated didn’t help.

I think we spent most of our time in the Ducati booth, ogling the fine Italian thoroughbreds. Works of art, each and every one of them.

It’s rare to see small companies make it out to events like this, so when they make a showing it’s something special. Confederate Motorcycles certainly made their presence felt. They brought out something really special..

The yellow is a bit much for me, but it matches with the modern suspension nicely.

BMW’s first supersport S 1000 R was also such a big hit that I couldn’t get a clear shot of it. I also had a chance to catch the stunt show this year put on by Ducati’s stunt riders, but it was disappointingly short and lacked atmosphere. I really wish more manufacturers and small companies would’ve come out because variety was sorely lacking. Come on, seriously, Can-Am?? Also, free swag was at an all-time low. Free swag is very important.

( COPYRIGHT FREE – PLEASE CREDIT ALASTAIR WALKER/MOTORFEATURES UK )

Mick Barton’s Norvin special was one of the stars in the bikes section at the Classic Motor Show, held at the NEC in November 2009, reports Alastair Walker.

Mick had a Norvin when he was a teenager in the 60s, but back then he couldn’t afford to customise the bike with the very best performance parts. So spending the last eight years, `on and off,’ building this ultimate cafe racer Norvin was a real labour of love.

“The hardest part was sourcing an original Vincent engine,” said Mick, “I could have used a re-manufactured motor, but I eventually found a 1955 V-twin and then had it stripped, with bigger valves, hotter cams, low comp pistons fitted, plus GP 32mm carbs and a custom made set of exhaust pipes. The bike really goes well now. I think it’s realised the full potential of the bike, yet sticks with the old cafe racer styling of the 60s.”

Other mods on the bike include Ceriani suspension, many polished and chromed parts, a Yamaha V-Max fly screen and Yamaha TZ spoked wheels. The striking Norvin, finished in Audi orange, took `Best Cafe Racer’ in the concours awards, presented by the Ace Cafe London, at the Classic Motor Show 2009.

Ends.

When it comes to amazing motorcycles, theirs not many that can beat the Triumph Street Triple R.
That could be why it’s won the motorcycle of the year 2009.

Triumph Street Triple R

Triumph had a good thing going when it unveiled the sweet Street Triple 675, a pared-down streetfighter version of the beloved Daytona 675 sportbike. The Street Triple’s finest feature is its soul-stirring three-cylinder engine that boasts a broad powerband and a symphonic exhaust note. The motor, re-tuned from the Daytona, has a predictable but powerful output that makes it accessible and unintimidating to riders of all skill levels yet is satisfying for even the saltiest veterans. Comfortable ergos – including a reasonably low seat height – and an eminently toss-able nature made it a staff darling, but we were a little disappointed it had some bargain-minded bits to keep the retail figure low.

But when it comes to getting motorbike insurance, that’s where it starts to become fun.

The Street Triple R is an upgraded version of what has been an astonishing sales success for the Hinckley-based firm. With the waiting list for the standard model only just cleared, the new ‘R’ offers high-spec cycle parts to match the bike’s ability. Oh, and some rather nifty graphics, too.

As such, for an extra £800 or so you get fully adjustable suspension along with stronger radial four-pot brakes, a new seat, Magura handlebars, and… that’s it. You see, improving on perfection is always going to be a tricky business, so let me just say this now: If you’ve got a standard Street Triple on order from Fowlers, don’t worry, I can assure you you will not be disappointed.

But if you’ve got the spare cash, you’ll be over the moon with a Triple R. Stylish and cool, this Triumph still looks like nothing else on the road (apart, of course, from its big brother the Speed Triple). The 675cc motor is completely unchanged from the standard model and that’s a good thing. Lifted from the Daytona and remapped for greater urge in lower revs, it offers the kind of torque you get from a V-twin with the top end rush you get from an inline four while still returning on average 40 to the gallon. The beauty is, it does it all so smoothly. But it’s the 41mm USD forks and piggyback shock from Kayaba, along with the Nissin stoppers that will gain you the extra ‘rispeck’ in the pub car park.

All this sounds great, but as earlier mentioned, but if your new to riding, then theirs so much more that needs to be brought, including motorbike insurance, helmet, leathers etc, which after looking into this will cost about another grand or so.

What’s your opinion of the Triumph Street Triple R? please leave your comments below.

My brother Jay got some new tyres (Pilot Powers) and some new brake rotors from the USA, I picked up his GSXR1000 and dropped off my CBR1000RR to our mate Garths workshop as both bikes were being serviced one after the other. The new brakes look great, they look huge in RL, It will be good to see what Jay thinks at his next track day at Eastern Creek on the 12/12/09, with a service, new brake rotors, steering head bearings and fresh tyres.

My bike has gone in for a ‘major’ service (24000k) and some new front brake pads. I can’t wait to have it back all serviced and shit. I still have good tyres on so I can’t wait for a burn up putty road

Not long ago I had the priveledge of shooting a custom vintage 1960’s Triumph Bonneville. The motorcycle buffs out there will immediately notice that this bike has been highly modified from it’s stock beginnings… and transformed into a big chunk of metal coolness! The bike was built by local builder Jason North, one of the most talented motorcycle guys you will find anywhere. I can’t wait until his next project is completed so I can capture that one as well.

The BangShift.com members come up with some cool stuff, and this time we got tipped by a forum post from user jword2001. He posted the video seen below that shows Top Fuel Motorcycle rider Korry Hogan laying over his drag bike at 220 mph on a 5.88-second pass, and then saving it! This was at the AMA Dragbike Finals in Valdosta, Georgia, in 2009.

However, a little web surfing reveals that Korry Hogan is no stranger to death-defying antics on two wheels with nitro. The guy has stones like bowling balls. These are all must-see videos.

Here’s the one with Hogan putting the bike horizontal in the lights at 220 mph. Head over to BangShift for more insane crash videos.

Jakarta – Kawasaki Ninja 250 boleh hadir dengan segala aura sportinya. Namun, bicara harga jual, banyak kalangan berpikir ulang untuk memilikinya.

Monstrac SBK

In a creation myth rivaling that of the most powerful shoguns of ancient Japan, today you were born

In a creation myth rivaling that of the most powerful shoguns of ancient Japan, today you were born into the body of a coal black Aprilia RSV4.

Your dark, naked body shone in the full moonlight that permeated the room and caused our bodies to contrast so virtually we embodied natural duality. My hair lapped across your taut chest – dampening into mahogany cat o’nine tails. Our sweat mixed as we writhed against one another; resting only momentarily in ecstatic postures. As we posed in tantra, our tongues met first, then moist lips slipped top over bottom, bottom over top – exchanging the business of being in charge.

There seemed to be no limit to the amount of pleasure we could receive from each other. Then suddenly, without warning your chiseled arms wrapped themselves around my perfect, round ass and lifted. I was on top of you in an instant. Supine beneath me, you tensed every muscle as solid and hard as your cock. I felt you grow deeper inside me. Every inhale was a gasp of pleasure. Every exhale was a moan of sweet release.

Darkness enveloped us as the moon rose too high to illuminate our bed through the tall southern window of the room. There were no doors. The blankets and pillows were yours. Dizzy whimpered in the corner and you reassured her that we would both live through the ordeal. I lost sight of you. I blinked. I looked down where you should have been – where I could still feel you. I saw the shine of your body as I had before and relaxed for a moment. But, how could you shine when there was no moon?

The warmth of your body between my legs became something all together new and exciting. I felt your body heave as our sweat turned molten and cooled to smooth metal. Electricity passed through us and your atoms split – exposed to oxygen in the brisk, night air that blew in from the open window. We shivered as we both came to orgasm. That would be our last common act as human beings.

I held on tight with both legs; my creamy thighs straining for a grip. Your chest turned to chassis – a twin-spar adjustable aluminum frame dipped in anthracite – the highest rank of coal – just for looks. Your arms dissolved Christ-like from around my waist into a front suspension of 43-mm stanchions in an upside-down fork. Your elbows became adjustable and spring preloaded with hydraulic compression for rebound damping. Your hands were dual 320-mm diameter floating stainless steel discs with Brembo monobloc radial calipers. I shuddered and reached to cradle your head as I realized what was happening.

Mixed low and thick, your legs became the twin-sided swing arm now deftly fitted between the bend where my hip and ankle made a perfect triangle. Your knees merged into one Öhlins Racing monoshock with piggyback. Your feet morphed into a 220-mm disc brake with a Brembo floating caliper and two 32-mm isolated pistons. Instead of boots, you wore completely machined Aprilia forged aluminum alloy five-split spokes.

A breeze picked up in the room and swept my hair around my shoulders to barely cover the tips of my rock hard nipples. I was excited and scared. I still held your held in my hands. You looked up at me with a stare so confident; my fear vanished and was replaced again by desire. It appeared as though you were glowing through a third eye!

As the transformation was near complete, I knew that this ethereal glow would soon be the center of the tri-jeweled crown of guiding light on our impending journey. I pinched the your fleshy lobes one last time before they turned to grips; found a comfortable two-fingered position around the brakes and managed a giggle as I imagined tickling you behind both ears.

By this time, your internal organs were in a severe state of flux but the metamorphosis from man to machine was made somewhat more acceptable to me knowing that you already had a four-chambered heart. Not exactly a 65-degree V-four built for superior agility and rear-wheel traction; but a ventricle system none the less. The expansive network of veins that once moved blood beneath your flesh morphed into a fly-by-wire throttle system with double overhead camshafts. Your atria now variable-length intake ducts, and a total of eight fuel injectors. Your blood as pure and powerful a fuel as the god Inari could bestow upon a pious farmer.

Your lungs of course, were reconfigured 4 into 2 into 1 with a single oxygen sensor. And the rest of your respiratory system was now simply one lateral silencer with an engine unit-controlled butterfly valve and integrated trivalent catalytic converter. You now weighed 395 pounds – dry.

Now that the conversion was complete, I reveled in the pure joy that was the melding of your soul to the bike beneath me. Although some would say you became mon objet d’amour, you were in every sense still utterly in control. All I could do was hold on. It was different all alone on the front. The wind lashed out, seeking penance for my sins. It didn’t ask my permission and there was no safety word to stop it. As the RSV4, you sensed my boundaries and slowed into a turn to deflect the pressure. On the downshift, your newfound voice sent a tingle from my toes to my tits with a deep, penetrating rumble gnash before hitting the perfect note in the space between my hips where my clit rubbed against the hard leather inseam of my new riding gear. I hoped it never softened.

Your mouth seemed to swallow whole parts of the road in lurching gulps as we lunged forward into the abyss that was 177bhp and 85lb ft. of torque. It was all I could do to bow my head and kiss the tank where I once felt your heart beat too fast to be human. You reared up like a wild stallion at that moment and I knew no one would ever tame you. This only served to make me more excited. I easily compared my exaltation to the day all emperors descended from the sun goddess who formed the islands of Japan in her womb and birthed them from a cloud. You were man, machine and manga legend all rolled into one.

So as Zelda and I are both currently not living in the US, we won’t be able to see New Moon un

So as Zelda and I are both currently not living in the US, we won’t be able to see New Moon until november 25th (Yeah, I know we already told you that yesterday…). We got tickets to the premiere but still we have to wait five days longer than the rest of you. Our life sucks! We’re so pissed I even considered flying to LA just to watch New Moon a few days earlier. But then I calculated that for the money I would have to invest in a flight ticket I could see the movie about 98 times on the big screen here. 54 times if I buy popcorn and a diet coke every time. 27 times if I always invite Zelda and buy popcorn and a diet coke to share with her. So I decided I can make it through five more days (four by the time this post gets published) by distracting myself with countless blog post. Honestly, I will be so productive! To shorten the time a bit I occupied myself by making a list of things Zelda and I will do in honor to New Moon before the movie finally premieres here. Another top ten list, of course! What else?

1. We will give each other nicely wrapped presents, try to open them, then throw them on the floor while dramatically screaming “Ouch, papercut!” I hope Jasper won’t be anywhere near us, otherwise this might end badly…

Jorts? Check. Tattoo? Check. Abs? Check!

2. We will buy some old motorcycles, find a sexy guy who teaches us riding those and then land ourselves in the emergency room. Honestly, we’re so sure to end up in the hospital…

3. We will cut off our old jeans to have the cool self-made jorts the wolfpack is wearing all the time.

4. We will go to a tattoo studio to get the original wolfpack-pride tattoo. Maybe we won’t be brave enough for that and just paint it on our arms with a black marker… unless we’re drunk as hell… Not impossible but improbable, so it will rather be the black marker version but whatever!

Oh please, let him be the one who saves us!

5. We will drive to a cliff near us. Well, there isn’t really a cliff near us but we’ll find one, promise! Then we will try cliff diving, totally unskilled but fearless nevertheless. Maybe we can hear Edward’s voice while falling down. Not very probable but worth a try. Because hey, it’s Edward’s voice we’re talking about here and there’s probably nothing I wouldn’t do for Edward…(*false…uhm, I think…*) At least someone (oh god, please let him be a sexy super-muscular Indian boy… shirtless!) is bound to think we’re trying to commit suicide and come to rescue us.

6. We will lend us a yellow Porsche and drive around like complete maniacs in honor to Alice.

7. We will travel to Italy to visit Volterra. I’ve already been there about 10 years ago with my family so it will be quite cool to go there again. Hope Heidi won’t catch us…

Shirtless Robward in all his glory

8. We will go to a church near us (something I haven’t done for years except for some friend’s wedding), take off our shirts (not our bras though, we’re not that slutty!) and walk out into the sunlight. Yeah, sunlight in november is pretty rare and it will probably be damn cold. But we’ll do it, in honor to New Moon. Yep, we’re so unbelievably dedicated! Then hopefully someone will run towards us and nearly knock us over… and so save us from us further embarrassment.

9. We will get airbrushed-on abs just like Rob has in the Volterra scene.

10. We will hold a vote on our mortality and whether we think Edward should bite us or not. (SPOILER: He should! Cause I feel like I so belong with him.)

Okay, you caught us… To be honest, we won’t do all of that stuff. Maybe five out of ten. We’ll take pictures for you though, promise!

a

Off to look up where the nearest cliff is

Saveyoursoul

a

What else could we do in honor to New Moon? Did you do anything special for the premiere or before watching the movie? Leave us a comment or e-mail us!

The York Daily Record reported that union workers at the Harley-Davidson Springettsbury Township operations got their first look at a proposed contract that if approved will stop the motor company from relocating the York Vehicle Operations to an alternative site in Kentucky.

You can read the detailed contract highlights HERE. Briefly, it’s a 58 page document that covers the next 7 years. H-D will commit to investing up to $90 million to restructure the operations and stop efforts to relocate to Kentucky. For those workers who lose their job as part of the restructuring there are a number of alternatives from lump-sum payout to volunteering for the reduction and receiving benefits if they lose their job. Workers received copies of the contract today at the Toyota Arena where members met. They will vote to ratify or turn down the deal on December 2nd. The company has until December 12th to approve.

Reading the “tea leaves,” I anticipate the International Association of Machinists and Aerospace Workers (District 98) will ratify the new contract. Do they have any other choice? The company has worked all angles during this down economy to their advantage and will obtain significant concessions from the workers who need a job.
