Clearly this is not the case having just publicly accused Max Mosely&#8217;s of being &#8221;blinded by an excessive desire for personal revenge.&#8221;</p>
<p>The World Motor Sport Council (WMSC) banished the former Renault boss from Formula One for his part in the &#8220;Crashgate&#8221; scandal. However the fiery italian was so appalled at being found guilty he decided to launch a multimillion pound appeal against the ban and is demanding damaged against the FIA and the Formula One ruling body of up to £900,000. </p>
<p>In response to the documents seen in The Guardian, Briatore claims that the FIA judgement was &#8220;a tool to exact vengeance on one man”, as well as a “manifest excess and abuse of power”. </p>
<p>Briatore&#8217;s claim against the FIA World Council and Max Mosley stems from his involvement in plans for a breakaway series, an issue that rumbled on through much of last season before an agreement was reached for manufacturers to stay in Formula One.</p>
<p>Pat Symonds, Renault&#8217;s former executive director of engineering who was also implicated in the scandal, looks to be following in Briatore&#8217;s footsteps and will appeal in an effort to have his five-year ban overturned.</p>
<p>Only time will tell if Briatore and Symonds are to return&#8230;</p>

<p>&#8230; They better be. F1 see&#8217;s two back to back British champions for the <a href="http://www.forumula1.net/2009/f1/features/reaction-to-buttons-championship-triumph/" target="_blank">first time in forty years, </a>and also it seems that both of those <strong>British</strong> champions will be in the same <a href="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McLaren_(racing)" target="_blank"><strong>British team,</strong></a> that&#8217;s the second oldest team in the sport. Not to mention the fact that it was an all <strong>British</strong> team (Brawn) that won both the Drivers and Constructers titles in 2009, and McLaren won the Drivers title in 2008. So it seems ridiculous to think that there may not be a British Grand Prix in 2010! Britain really is the heart of motorsport, so I hope that it all gets resolved, as the market for F1 in Britain clearly must be at a high that hasn&#8217;t been experienced for quite some time.</p>
<p>So in closing&#8230; Please Bernie, please don&#8217;t forget you and F1&#8217;s roots, and where it all belongs. Don&#8217;t let your ego and love for money get in the way.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><strong>Gestern sicherte sich Jimmie Johnson seinen vierten Titel in Homestead. Damit ist er der erste Fahrer, dem es gelang, 4 Mal in Folge Nascar-Champ zu werden. Das Rennen konnte Denny Hamlin für sich entscheiden.<br />
</strong></p>
<p>Das das Rennen in Homestead geschichtsträchtig sein würde, war schon von Anfang an klar. Entweder Johnson würde mit seinem 4. Titel in Folge in die Geschichte eingehen oder Mark Martin als ältester Nascar-Champion überhaupt. Am Freitag sicherte sich die #48 schon die Pole und ging somit mit einem guten Vorteil ins Rennen. Mark Martin startete von Position 4.</p>
<p>Johnson konnte schon direkt beim Start vorne wegziehen und sich seine 5 Bonuspunkte sichern. Damit reichte ihm praktisch ein 27. Platz zum Titelgewinn. Im Rennen dominierte der Champion praktisch das gesamte Rennen gegenüber Mark Martin. Zwischenzeitlich fielen Beide, aufgrund eines Boxenstops während der Caution, zurück in den hinteren Teil des Feldes. Für viele Jimmie-Fans waren das wohl die schwersten Runden, man erinnere sich an Texas. Der Meister kämpfte sich aber letztlich wieder nach Vorne und sicherte sich einen 5.Platz. Sein direkter Rivale im Meisterschaftskampf, konnte mit einem 12. Platz und 0 Führunsrunden kaum überzeugen. Der Unterschied zwischen beiden Fahrern wuchs von 108 auf 141 Punkte. Denny Hamlin sicherte sich in einem überzeugenden Rennen den 1.Platz und die 10 Bonuspunkte für die meisten Führungsrunden. Damit machte er einen gewaltigen Schritt von 3 Plätzen, auf Platz 5 in der Gesamtwertung. Jeff Gordon sicherte sich mit einem 6.Platz, Position 3 in der Wertung, vor Kurt Busch, welcher im Rennen den 4.Platz belegte. Dadurch belegen die Männer von Hendrick Motorsports die ersten drei Plätze in der Gesamtwertung. Rookie of the Year wurde, wie nicht anders zu erwarten, der 19-jährige Joey Logano.</p>
<p>Ganz Fair blieb das Rennen allerdings nicht, denn es wurde von einer Fehde zwischen Juan Pablo Montoya und Tony Stewart überschattet. Montoya fiel schon während des gesamten Rennens durch seinen sehr aggressiven Fahrstil auf, was auch schon Jimmie Johnson fluchend auffiel. In Runde 115 stoßte Montoya, Stewart an, woraufhin dieser als Retourkutsche, seitlich in die 42 rammte. Montoya musste einen Reifenschaden und eine Berührung mit der Mauer hinnehmen. Als Resultat daraus, fiel er 28 Runden aus. Kurz nach seiner Rückkehr, drehte er dann schließlich in einer Racheaktion, Tony Stewart quer über die Front Straight. Nascar befahl dem Kolumbianer eine Auszeit über 2 Runden. Beide Fahrer taten sich keinen Gefallen, denn Stewart verlor 1 Position in der Gesamtwertung, Montoya gleich 2.</p>
<p>Der Sprint Cup pausiert jetzt bis zum 14.Februar, also 83 Tage. Dann geht es weiter mit dem Saisonauftakt in Daytona.</p>
<p><em>Mit Jimmie Johnson wurde ein würdiger Meister gefunden. Es besteht eigentlich kein Zweifel, dass er im Moment der beste Fahrer ist. Wie schon in der Vorschau erläutert, hätte ich es auch Mark Martin gegönnt. In knapp 12 Wochen geht es schon wieder los und die Frage, die alle beschäftigt ist: &#8220;Kann Jimmie Johnson seinen Rekord ausbauen?&#8221; Ich würde mich freuen, wenn die nächste Saison etwas anders aussehen würde. Ich denke, dass Mark Martin mit weitaus mehr Selbstbewusstsein in die neue Saison gehen wird, als in die Letzte. Vielleicht schafft er es ja diesmal.</em></p>

<p>It&#8217;s only been a few weeks since the end of the F1 season and you would have thought that with a total of 133 days between the last race and the first of the next season in Bahrain, everyone would be taking a rest. However, being F1, things never stand still, even when this years cars are being put away.  The engineering teams are busy putting the final touches to the car designs and crash testing components ready for a roll out in January; the commercial people are settling sponsorship deals and designing the livery of the new cars and the teams even spend a lot of time working out how everything will fit in the garages next year.</p>
<p>Something extra is happening this year though. Usually the &#8216;Silly season&#8217; &#8211; the speculation over who is driving where next year &#8211; is normally done and dusted by now. Or at least only, a few relatively minor placements are still to be decided but a number of events have conspired to delay matters. The threat of a breakaway series (read more <a title="Breakaway Threat" href="http://thewizardweb.wordpress.com/2009/06/09/politics-f1-style/">here</a>); the fallout of Toyota and BMW leaving the sport; new teams entering and Ferrari needing to sort out Kimi Raikkonen&#8217;s contract have all meant that deals have backed up whilst the large pieces of the puzzle were arranged.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s all falling into place now and there are some surprises too. Well, actually &#8220;surprise&#8221; may be the wrong word. For months it&#8217;s been speculated that Mercedes would be buying into the Brawn team, so it wasn&#8217;t really a surprise that it happened. However it&#8217;s not something one might have expected at the start of the year. Brawn&#8217;s ability to capitalise on having a far superior car for the first half of the year, meant they could hold station for the second half and thus win the drivers and constructers crowns. This gave Mercedes and opportunity to take over a team that is probably more willing to integrate with the main company than perhaps McLaren was and also to retain the services of Ross Brawn. Often called &#8220;the master tactician&#8221;, he now has the honour of being the man who ran the only team to win both championships in the only year of their existance. They&#8217;ve existed in one form or another for the last ten years, but the history books will record the name BrawnGP in only one of those.</p>

<p>So for next year, the team becomes Mercedes GP. The surprise though has been regarding the drivers. It&#8217;s been known for some time that Nico Rosberg had signed a deal (which will be announced later today) but previously it was thought Jenson Button would stay with the team that helped him to the title. He has ended up going to McLaren, apparently for a fresh challenge. And challenge is something he&#8217;ll get racing alongside and against Lewis Hamilton. The internet is awash with comments about how Jenson will struggle next year. Certainly it looks like it could be the making or the breaking of him. If he doesn&#8217;t match up to Hamilton in any respectable way, then his championship year will be re-examined in the light that it was the advantage the Brawn car had early this year that won him the title, not any ability on his part. So Jenson has to do well.</p>
<p>Who will partner Rosberg at Mercedes? Recent speculation has linked a return by Michael Schumacher to F1 but this has been dismissed by all parties, so will it be Kimi? His wage demands were too much for McLaren, who felt that as he was being paid by Ferrari not to race for them next year, it was unreasonable for him to expect another full salary on top of that. Mercedes is on record as saying they want to reduce costs, so will they put up the cash? All they are saying is that the second driver will be a surprise.</p>
<p>So with Alonso/Massa at Ferrari, Hamilton/Button at McLaren, Vettel/Webber at RedBull and Rosberg/TBA at Mercedes, then the coming year is shaping up nicely. Kubica has signed for Renault, but at this point there are still question marks over Renaults commitment to the sport. So one theory is that when the team announce their future plans in December, Kubica will get out of the contract and be the second driver at Mercedes. The specualtion is far from over !</p>
<p>As for the new teams coming in, Lotus are at least trying to show they are the most advanced and ready for the new year. They have been crash testing components and showing pictures of their wind tunnel models. Manor haven&#8217;t shown anything due to the fact their car is being designed and tested in cyberspace, the first car to be prepared this way. They have announced Timo Glock as a driver and should be changing their name to Virgin F1 before launch. Campos Meta have announced Bruno Senna (nephew of the late Ayrton) as one of their drivers but otherwise have been fairly quiet. Whereas USGP have more or less been forced to make a series of announcements due to speculation over their participation. Speculation says they won&#8217;t make the grid, but the team insist they will. None of them are expect to trouble the existing teams, so they are all vying to be the &#8220;best of the newcomers&#8221;.</p>
<p>The rules will be slightly different. Skinnier tires on the front will change the handling of the cars, as will the fact there&#8217;s no more refuelling mid-race. So the cars will have to carry a full race load of fuel on the grid. Consequently the cars will be a bit longer to accommodate a bigger tank. The rules for qualifying will change slightly too because of this and the cars will run with minimum fuel in all sessions.</p>
<p>Regarding the politics, most of the manufacturers have gone and so has Max Mosely.  Although there&#8217;s still a fear that Jean Todt, the new FIA president will simply be doing Max&#8217;s bidding, but time will tell. In any event the year should be less confrontational for all parties and that can only be good for the sport.</p>
<p>So really, there&#8217;s a lot to look forward to next year. I really can&#8217;t wait, and as the title of this piece says why can&#8217;t someone invent a time forwarding device ?</p>

<p>In der WTCC wurde Heute Geschichte geschrieben. Mit 47 Jahren wurde Gabriele Tarquini der älteste Weltmeister in einer FIA-Weltmeisterschaft. Natürlich gab es, wie erwartet, viel Schrott und spektakuläre Abflüge. Die Entscheidung in der Meisterschaft verzögerte sich allerdings bis in das letzte Rennen.</p>
<p>Das erste Rennen war eher unspektakulär. Der erwartete Crash in der ersten Runde blieb aus. Robert Huff holte sich den Sieg. Tarquini konnte von einer teamtaktischen Entscheidung profitieren, indem sich Monteiro zurückfallen ließ. Der neue Weltmeister wurde Zweiter. Sein direkter Konkurrent und Titelverteidiger Yvan Muller sicherte sich den fünften Platz.</p>
<p>Mit 6 Punkten Differenz zwischen Tarquini und Muller, ging es in das letzte Rennen. Farfus startete von der Pole und sicherte sich nach Rennabbruch in der 9.Runde den Sieg. Aus dem Titelkampf war der Brasilianer allerdings schon nach dem 1.Rennen. Der Grund für das vorzeitige Ende war ein heftiger Dreifach-Crash. Félix Porteiro kam mit zu viel Speed in die letzte Kurve und krachte in die Leitplanke. Der Privatier Franz Engstler konnte nicht mehr ausweichen und krachte in den liegen gebliebenen Porteiro. Trotz der raschen Reaktion der Streckenposten, sofort doppelt Gelb zu winken, knallte der aus Macao stammende André Couto mit voller Geschwindigkeit ins Heck des Deutschen. Sofort wurden die roten Flaggen geschwenkt. Aufgrund einer vorherigen Gelphase sollten 9/11 Runden gefahren werden. Engstler wurde sofort geborgen und in das Medical Center gebracht. Dort diagnostizierte man einen Schlüsselbeinbruch und eine Gehirnerschütterung. Engstler soll wieder auf dem Weg nach Europa sein.</p>

<p>Das Feld stand schließlich einige Minuten lang auf der Start und Zielgeraden. Schließlich wurde das Rennen von der Rennleitung für beendet erklärt. Tarquini wurde als 5. gewertet, Muller auf Position 3. Somit sicherte sich Tarquini mit 127 Punkten und 4 Punkten Vorsprung auf Muller den Titel.</p>
<p>Der enthronte Meister Yvan Muller gab direkt nach dem Rennen bekannt, nächste Saison für Chevrolet zu fahren. SEAT war seit 2006 sein Arbeitgeber.</p>
<p>In der Privatfahrerwertung sicherte sich Tom Coronel, mit 13 Punkten Vorsprung auf Felix Porteiro, den Titel.</p>
<p><em>Das erwartete Lotterierennen blieb Heute aus und mit Tarquini wurde ein verdienter Weltmeister gefunden. Franz Engstler kann einem Leid tun. Wieder einmal unverschuldet abgeräumt. Hoffentlich sieht es nächste Saison wieder besser bei ihm aus. Ich wünsche ihm auf jeden Fall eine gute Besserung.</em></p>

<p>They&#8217;re quite entertaining (events and reports). It&#8217;s nice to look back at these stories and just relive the experiences of not so distant past. Although it seems like centuries ago, especially when you consider that Formula 1 landscape will look totally different in 2010 with the disappearance of many names and brands.</p>
<p>However, new reports are on their way.</p>

<p>Blogguppehåll i några dagar av flera olika skäl.</p>
<p>Det är lördag morgon och vi hämtar oss efter gårdagens stadsfest här i Ensenda.  Det rörde sig om Cross Country -rallyt &#8220;Baja 1000&#8243;  där en massa monstertruckar och motorcyklar från hela Nord- och Sydamerika kör 1000 miles på 18 -24 timmar. Hela Baja California. Loppet börjar och slutar här i stan så på morgonen stod vi längs den torkade flodfåran för ta avsked av de tävlande:</p>

<p>och sedan på natten tändes eldarna längs med samma flodfåra för att motta vinnarna&#8230;.och de som orkade hålla sig vakna mottog även förlorarnai gryningen.<br />

<p>Comme chaque année, <strong>Jordan Brand</strong> édite une version <strong>Motorsports</strong> de l&#8217;un de ses modèles, en hommage à son écurie de moto de course. Et réédition en 2010 oblige, ce sont les <strong>Jordan VI</strong> qui subissent un relooking noir et blanc mais sans le bleu habituel, pourtant couleur phare de la team Jordan Motorsports.</p>
<p>En tout cas, n&#8217;espérez même pas mettre les pieds dans l&#8217;une d&#8217;elle, étant donné qu&#8217;elles sont uniquement réservées aux employé de l&#8217;écurie. Sauf si vous êtes prêt à dépenser 3000 dollars sur eBay ou 30 euros sur un site de contrefaçon.</p>

<p>Robin Tato pada tahun lalu mengikuti balap mobil Formula V6 Asia. Namun, pada tahun ini, ia banting stir mengikuti reli. Lho, kenapa? &#8221;Ikut balap mobil formula mahal banget. Ongkosnya bisa dua atau tiga kali ikut reli,&#8221; ujar Robin pada Jumat (20/11) di PRJ Kemayoran sembari bersantai menunggu upacara pembukaan seri ketiga dan keempat Kejuaraan Reli Yunior KFC.  </p>
<p>Balap mobil formula dan reli memang memiliki banyak kesamaan. Keduanya sama-sama menggunakan kendaraan beroda empat. Untuk mengendalikannya, orang juga sama-sama harus memutar roda kemudi yang terdapat di dalam kendaraan.</p>
<p>Namun, keduanya juga mempunyai perbedaan yang sangat besar. Reli memakai mobil jenis sedan, sedangkan balap formula memanggunakan mobil prototipe, alias mobil yang didesain khusus untuk balapan di sirkuit.</p>
<p>Selain itu, reli selalu identik dengan lumpur dan debu, sedangkan balap formula bisa dipastikan bebas dari lumpur dan tanah. Nah, perbedaan  yang mencolok lainnya adalah soal dana, seperti disampaikan Robin.</p>
<p>Balap formula menjadi mahal karena untuk bisa tampil sebagai pebalap hebat, orang harus mengikuti rangkaian lomba yang semuanya berstatus internasional alias lebih sering digelar di sirkuit luar negeri. Sebaliknya, di ajang reli, orang Indonesia tidak perlu mengikuti lomba di luar negeri. Mereka bisa mengikuti kejurnas atau Kejuaraan Reli Yunior KFC. Bahkan, Indonesia punya versi lomba reli yang lebih ringkas lagi, yakni sprint rally.</p>
<p>Kalau mau jadi pereli kelas internasional, orang tidak bisa tidak memang harus mengikuti kejuaraan reli internasional seperti APRC (Asian Pacific Rally Championship), bahkan WRC (World Rally Championship). Namun, kalau dana yang dipunyai tidak terlalu berlebihan, mengikuti reli di Tanah Air sudah cukup kok, sebagaimana dilakukan Robin Tato sekarang.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p><strong>Am Sonntag ist es wieder soweit. Die WTCC tagt traditionell am letzten Rennwochenende des Jahres im berüchtigten Macao.</strong></p>
<p>Am Sonntag geht es los im Monte-Carlo des Ostens, an der chinesischen Ostküste. Die Tourenwagenweltmeisterschaft tritt an zu ihrem letzten Lauf. Auch diesmal kann sich in Macao wieder alles drehen und wenden.</p>
<p>Wir haben 3 verschiedene Titelaspiranten. Gabriele Tarquini startet mit 115 Punkten, Yvan Muller mit 113 Punkten und mit 102 Punkten und damit, bei 20 möglichen Punkten, immer noch im Titelrennen, Augusto Farfus. Es werden also zwei spannende Rennen am Sonntag.</p>
<p>Auf dem Stadtkurs von Macao werden 2 Rennen á 9 Runden absolviert. Die Strecke ist 6,117 m lang und bekannt dafür, dass eigentlich alles passieren kann. Viele Leute wünschen sich daher einen anderen Kurs. Berüchtigt sind die langen Geraden und engen Passagen. Ohne Auslaufzonen natürlich.</p>

<p>Für die deutschen Fans geht es schon um 05:00 Uhr Morgens mit dem 1.Rennen auf Eurosport los. Das 2.Rennen folgt dann schon um 06:00 Uhr.</p>
<p><em>Ich werd natürlich auch aufstehen. Die WTCC gehört einfach zu meinen Lieblingsserien, auch wenn die Rennen teilweise ins Absurde gehen. Persönlich hab ich jetzt keinen Favoriten. Möge der Bessere gewinnen.</em></p>
