Renewed interest in [lastfm]Michael Jackson[/lastfm] kick started it.

A [lastfm]Jackson 5[/lastfm] exhibit of memorabilia from their time at Motown is on exhibit through October with plans for a massive expansion at the West Grand site.  According to museum reps, there’s too much to exhibit in the cozy confines of the the original house that served as the label’s headquarters.  Last years 50th Anniversary celebration and the new [lastfm]Jackson Five[/lastfm] exhibit has shown there is a continued interest in the music not only of Michael and his brothers, but of the other Motown artists like The [lastfm]Temptations[/lastfm], [lastfm]Supremes[/lastfm], [lastfm]Stevie Wonder[/lastfm], [lastfm]Smokey Robinson[/lastfm], [lastfm]Martha and the Vandellas[/lastfm], [lastfm]Marvin Gaye[/lastfm], and others.  So much so, that some of the memorabilia will hit the road next year as a traveling Motown exhibit with help from the Smithsonian Institution.  I’ll keep you updated on this as I get information.
