<p>I am online and settled in.  We are  staying with friends we met last year, a local Specialized sponsored rider and his wife.  We&#8217;ve got a sweet view of Quito out our window, and it&#8217;s a very comfortable place with bikes and gear all over the place. Reminds me of our house at home actually. The Panaderia (fresh bread bakery) is about a 2 minute walk away and the bike shop, Cikla is about 1 minute away.  The Parque Metropolitano is about a 2 minute ride away and has tons of kilometers of single track riding, with a bunch of jumps, logs and skill areas to practice on.  It&#8217;s right on the edge of the city, but nestled in a dense Eucalyptus forest.  It&#8217;s hard to believe we&#8217;re one the edge of a giant city.  We slept late yesterday, it&#8217;s amazing how trashed a 14 hour travel day can make me feel.  The ride yesterday felt really fun, but a bit hard to shake the cobwebs out of my legs, I felt better towards the end than at the beginning. Which is probably due to that travel thing again, sitting for 14 hours doesn&#8217;t keep the blood flowing.</p>
<p><a href="http://rebeccarusch.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/dscf1290.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-481" title="DSCF1290" src="http://rebeccarusch.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/dscf1290.jpg?w=300" alt="" width="300" height="225" /></a>We had a personal escort from Daniel, the race director, owner of Cikla bike shop and the Ecuador distributor for Specialized. He&#8217;s a busy guy, but sort of like the mayor of all cycling related activities in this country.  He is a ripping rider and it was awesome to ride with him on his home trails. Today is an acclimatization day.  The town of Quito is at about 2800 meters. For those of you Americans out there, I&#8217;m working in kilometers and meters over here!  The race takes place between about 3200 and 4200 meters.  Last year, the altitude was a killer and Greg got really sick from it.  This year, we have a little better plan to get up high this week before the race.  You can take bikes up on the Teleferiqo tram just near Quito to the top of Pichincha Volcano at 4100 meters.  From there you can get off the tram and ascend even higher to 4600 meters.  The best part is that you can ride your bike on single track all the way down the mountain and back to the bottom.  We plan to hit the Teleferiqo at least two times this week if possible to get up into the thin air.  If that doesn&#8217;t work, at least we&#8217;ll have enjoyed ourselves on the huge descent!</p>

<p>Wednesday, I am running a women&#8217;s only ride in the early morning at the Parque Metropolitano with Amanda, a strong local female racer.  There have not been many women&#8217;s clinics here, so I am motivated to ride with some of the locals and work on some riding techniques.  Here&#8217;s the flyer and info about the clinic (in Spanish!)  The shop has already been getting a few complaints from some male riders wondering why they cannot come to the riding clinic!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Essa semana marcará a minha volta ao ciclismo, mais especificamente ao Montain Bike. Não que algum dia já fui um profissional do esporte, longe, muito longe disso, mas já fui um praticante regular e pedalei por alguns milhares de quilômetros.<br />
Anos parado e pelo menos uns 15 kg a mais vão ser o meu maior problema nessa volta ao esporte.</p>
<p>Equipamento eu já tenho, essa semana acredito que a minha bike ficará pronta e já começo a pedalar assim que tiver oportunidade. A dificuldade do momento é terminar de montar a bike, está faltando a suspensão traseira que como não estou por dentro está dificultando a escolha da mais adequada para o momento e grana não é algo que posso gastar indiscriminadamente. </p>
<p>Amanha pretendo, se não resolver, agilizar a solução deste problema e já começar a traçar um treinamento.</p>

<p>Pedalzinho nível médio-forte. Pegamos a estrada de terra em frente ao trevo da Mitsui, fomos lá em baixo no laticínio e depois subimos até o asfalto &#8211; aquela estrada para São Roque. Antes de chegar no asfalto tinha um tiozinho de terno andando pela estrada de terra. O Erivelton disse que era fantasma. hehehehe<br />
Depos foi asfalto até a garapa na praça. hehehe</p>

<p>Sampailah di bagian puncak dari trip ini. Susah sekali rasanya menggambarkan bagian ini, justru padahal bagian inilah yang paling menantang dan menjadi menu utama trip kali ini. Mungkin akan lebih banyak menggunakan foto buat cerita. Dan post ini lebih merupakan dokumentasi tujuh tanjakan keren di trek Curug Cigeuntis.</p>
<p>Saat menikmati satu demi satu tanjakan-tanjakan teknikal dengan kemiringan yang bikin ngiler (note: kami sudah menjalani 45km+ gowes dari Cikarang saat mulai nanjak ke Curug), secara bercanda Eyang AN mengusulkan istilah &#8220;SOAL UJIAN&#8221; untuk tanjakan. Seru juga membayangkan kita sedang ujian akhir dengan soal yang terus bertambah sampai akhirnya mencapai Curug.</p>

<p>Tipe soal#1 ini sebenarnya sangatlah gowesable, bahkan di bagian kanan jalan, saat kita nanjak, ada bagian yang sudah diperkeras dengan semen menuju titik akhir soal#1 yang berupa warung tempat kita-kita duduk. Disinilah saya sadar bahwa trek Cigeuntis benar-benar trek tanjakan yang luarbiasa, lalu sudah mulai setting ekspektasi untuk tidak terkejut di soal-soal berikutnya.</p>

<description><![CDATA[A turma das 7 horas perocorreu hoje as trilhas da uva e do figo. Saímos do peladon, eu, Alexandre, J]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>A turma das 7 horas perocorreu hoje as trilhas da uva e do figo.<br />
Saímos do peladon, eu, Alexandre, João, Poli, Nice, o novato Felipe e a Claudinha. A Claudinha retornou para o peladon e encontrou Dom Luciano. Descemos até Caldas pelo asfalto e, apesar do barro, seguimos rumo ao bairro Coroado. Ao entrar na fazenda da Epamig que trabalha com mudas de uvas, demos de frente com uma verdadeira boiada. Da última vez foi um cavalo e desta vez, uma boiada. Passamos pela empresa Vitácea Brasil e saímos no asfalto, caminho de volta. Faltaram as fotos, eu acho que o João tirou algumas fotos das parreiras e da bela plantação de figo.</p>
<p>Amanhã, 8:00 h no peladon, teremos a presença das mulheres no pedal de domingo.</p>
<p>Confraternização dos vulcanos : Convivemos o ano inteiro nas trilhas vulcânicas, com bons momentos vividos, portanto, nada como uma reunião de final de ano. A sugestão é dia 17 de dezembro &#8211; quinta feira &#8211; nos reunirmos na pizzaria La Piubella às 20:00 h. Na ocasião, será sorteada uma camisa de bike cedida pela empresa Interaduaneira de Varginha para aqueles que fizeram o caminho da fé este ano. </p>

<p>Last Sunday was going to be my final run before the Willow 10k this weekend. I was going to run 10k at race pace just to again get used to a race pace over the full 10k distance. I thought it might be nice to take SonNumberOne along on his bike with me for company. I run better when I&#8217;m not concentrating on running and listening to SonNumberOne&#8217;s observations on life always manage to lift me whilst we&#8217;re out. </p>
<p>The roads and paths were still wet from the previous few days rain and it was about a mile and a half in that SonNumberOne found out the hard way about mountain bike tyres and wet manhole covers not making good bed fellows. After stopping to pick him up, dust him down and get him hurriedly back on the pushbike, we seemed to lose momentum and began to get distracted. Fallen trees across footpaths, stopping to watch canoeists navigating a weir and his excitement about that evenings Dr Who special all served to interrupt the run. So eventually we abandoned the idea of running and instead settled for a run / walk / chat which whilst not preparing me for my 10k, was a very enjoyable way to spend a Sunday morning.</p>
<p>So, feeling guilty about not running my 10k training run on Sunday, I set off after work on Wednesday evening. It was one of those cool, clear evening runs that I enjoy so much and as the Garmin had sneakily decide to lose it&#8217;s charge whilst sat in the drawer (i.e I had forgotten to charge it up), I decide to run a route that I know without timing myself. So I&#8217;ve no idea how quickly I ran but it was 7 and a half miles and felt surprisingly fluid once I settled into a rhythm.</p>
<p>I am very much looking forward to the race on Sunday &#8211; it is about 6 miles from my home and as SonNumberOne is currently suffering with a particularly unpleasent virus, I&#8217;ll almost certainly have to go there on my own as Mrs Eatingtrees has volunteered stay home and look after the boys. If the weather is half decent on Sunday morning, I may consider cycling to and from the race. I dare say when I wake up on Sunday morning that it will seem like a very bad idea indeed, although it may give me a glimpse of whether my half baked idea to enter a duathlon (run / mountain bike / run) early next year is wise&#8230;</p>

<p>Kata-kata itu terngiang terus dikepala saya. Udah lama juga gak gowes bareng domie, saya yakin ban domie pasti kempes kelamaan di-parkir di rumah (terbukti kemudian benar!!). Belum pernah juga saya genjot khusus sebelum sekolah di sabtu pagi. Biasanya kalo malam sabtu saya siapkan fisik dan mental buat tidur lebih awal dan mengistirahatkan fisik dan otak untuk menghadapi sepanjang hari sabtu diperas dan digojlog.</p>
<p>Akhirnya saya putuskan kirim sms ke Om Sigit Bikewearr (udah pada beli edisi terbaru nya belom? ada di aa bike tuh&#8230;), &#8220;&#8230;saya temani Om genjot start 06 sudah finish 0630..&#8221;<br />
Lihat jadwal-nya saja sudah meragukan, mana tahan gowes cuma setengah jam??? Saat pagi hari domie nongol di Tapir Raya segera saya tanya, &#8220;..gowes kemana kita??&#8221; dengan yakin dijawab, &#8220;&#8230; ke arah jeng jeng yuk !!&#8221;</p>
<p>HALAH !! Jeng-jeng sudah jelas tidak akan cukup setengah jam!!</p>
<p>Genjot lewat jalan nembus ke kampung Rawa Sentul, kali ini lewat terusannya Beruang 10, dibuka dengan tanjakan cukup nyusss sebelum masuk kampung Rawa Sentul lalu ke arah rumah Om BI, lalu jembatan kayu dan segera masuk ke jalan pinggir kalimalang.</p>

Sejak tak lagi b2w rutin bulan puasa lalu rasanya makin jauh tertinggal saja dengan rekan-rekan. Kerasa banget pas gowes trio mertaput dengan Om Yadi dan Om Sugeng pas separuh botol Nawit. Wuiiihh&#8230; tertinggal jauh&#8230;. Jadi pagi ini di jalan mulus kita coba latih crank depan di paling besar. Kita siksa sedikit paha di pagi hari.</p>
<p>Tak berapa lama sampai Jembatan Tegaldanas lalu turun ke depan AA Bike. Ini jam 6 lebih dikit sudah wajar kalau Om Asol belum buka AA Bike nya. Belok kiri ke arah Pintu Tol Deltamas. Baru sadar kalau jalur ini keren banget karena kita bisa lihat jalan tol dikejauhan kiri, sementara tampak kompleks bertingkat Brimob di kejauhan kanan. Jadi inget gowes Sunset Ride asyik bersama Brimob minggu lalu&#8230;</p>

<p>Nyampai di gerbang tol Deltamas saya tanya ke Om Sigit, apa pernah lewat jalan yang langsung nyeberang motong (tanpa lewat depan pemasaran), ternyata beliau pernah, jadi asyik aja kita lewat jalan ini. Wah asyik juga lewat offroad dengan obstacle jembatan dan tanjakan tau-tau kita sampai jalan mulus lalu nanjak ke Banner Deltamas. Wuih, keren !!! Kalo ditambah tiga jembatan (satu memperlebar dan dua diatas selokan) kayaknya jalur ini bakal jadi menantang dan gowesable!!</p>
<p>Ambil napas di belakang Banner KOTA DELTAMAS, kami cukup tercengang ngelihat beberapa anak singkong (usia sd-smp) yang rupanya mengikuti kami dengan cara mendorong sepedanya naik ke banner Deltamas juga&#8230; &#8220;&#8230; ayooo&#8230; kesini dorong biar seru&#8230;&#8221; kata salah satu diantara mereka. Hehehe&#8230; keracunan offroad tuh.</p>

<p>Tak berlama ambil napas (inget kan? rencana awal gowes cuma 30 menit?) kami segera menikmati turunan pertama banner menuju selokan putus. Saya berhenti di awal turunan buat mengabadikan Om Sigit meliuk-liuk menikmati salah satu tempat paling asyik di Cikarang ini. Di ujung turunan kita sudah ditunggu tanjakan miring menuju ke awal turunan kedua banner deltamas yang mengarah masuk ke Jeng-Jeng. Hati tergoda juga untuk berhenti dan memotret, tapi kahirnya bablas saja saya kuntit Om Sigit. Asyik banget emang ini singletrack !!!</p>

<p>Masuk Jeng-jeng, tidak terlalu istimewa kecuali terasa sedikit lebih rindang dari terakhir lewat sini. Mungkin setelah kena sedikit hujan daun-daun pohon jeng-jeng itu segera tumbuh baru dan cukup rindang.</p>
<p>Seperti biasa, keluar jeng-jeng digonggong anjing, trus segera menuju kolong tol.</p>
<p>Mengingat betapa kita cuma punya sedikit waktu rasanya pengen masuk ke kolong dan pulang, tapi jika ingat &#8220;Tanjakan Manohara&#8221; (nama diberikan oleh rekan-rekan Brimob), rasanya kok ya sayang untuk dilewatkan. Apalagi ini lagi di depan, jadi kalo ke tanjakan itu mestinya tanpa perlu stop tertahan kemacetan rekan yang berhenti didepan.</p>
<p>Asyik seperti masih mau turun ke kolong, ambil melambung kekiri segera belok kanan dan kita mulai tanjakan Manohara tanpa berhenti sampai di ujung tanjakan yang menguras fisik dan teknik ini. Pada kondisi medan kering dan pagi hari yang masih teduh begini tanjakan ini ada di level paling sexy. Paling NYUUSSS untuk dinikmati tanpa berhenti.</p>
<p>Saya lihat Om Sigit sempat trip dan kaki turun, gak berapa lama sampai di puncak segera saya ajak turun lagi, &#8220;&#8230; cuma tinggal turunan trus pulang kok Om&#8230;&#8221;</p>

<p>Jam berdetak dikepala saya karena mulai terbayang terlambat masuk ke ruang kelas gak enak banget sanksi sosialnya dilihatin seluruh isi kelas&#8230;</p>
<p>Sedikit icip jalur pepaya lalu lurus sampai ke Cikarang Baru lagi.<br />
Mulai mandi di rumah 65menit sejak mulai gowes.<br />

Sabtu pagi yang benar-benar menyenangkan !!!</p>

<p>Setelah diterpa angin dari kipas di musholla dan dinginnya teh botol dari kulkas, wah, kok cuaca di luar jadi panas banget rasanya yah&#8230; Tapi membayangkan tanjakan-tanjakan gravel+makadam di atas kampung waru, turunan panjang ke lembah dan nanjak lagi menuju villa H Agus akhirnya memupuskan keinginan untuk istirahat lebih lama.</p>
<p>Kamera saya masukkan ke dalam tas. Untuk etape ini sudah saya putuskan untuk tidak mengambil gambar. Tanjakan-tanjakannya terlalu indah untuk tidak dinikmati dengan serius. Lagipula di trip menjelang gowes akbar yang lalu rasanya saya sudah ambil banyak foto trek.</p>
<p>Tanjakan dari kampung waru menuju ke puncak bukit sebelum akhirnya melewati turunan panjang sangat mengigatkan saya pada trek Cioray. Panasnya mirip, lebar jalannya mirip, batu-batu makadam yang bikin susah genjot, slip kiri kanan mirip, hanya jenis batunya saja yang tidak mirip. Cioray cenderung batu kapur tajam-tajam. Trek tanjakan waru ini membuktikan lagi ke saya kalau dia benar-benar layak untuk dikangenin&#8230; Tanjakan sambut menyambut, tidaklah terlalu kejam,karena ada di beberapa titik kita diberi bonus sedikit landai dan turunan ringan. Justru itulah, seolah paha dan betis diuji dengan kejutan-kejutan yang menghentak.</p>
<p>Setelah akhirnya turunan panjang ke lembah sungai lalu ke kampung tempat Kang Deni kraam, bertemu jembatan merah kita gowes eksotis di pinggir bibir jurang ke sungai. Sungai kali ini airnya benar-benar sedikit. Di gowes akbar lalu rasanya sambil genjot kita bisa dengar gemuruh suara air, tapi kali ini sunyi senyap.</p>
<p>Setelah jembatan merah kita disambut tanjakan sambut menyambut tak henti-henti dan dahsyat membuat paha dan betis menjerit sampai akhirnya tembus ke Villa haji Agoes.</p>
<p>Oiya, lupa, bagaimana cerita dua rekan saya? Rekrutan baru Mertaput Om Didi plus punggawa dewan pembina CiPOC Om Eyang AN? Entahlah&#8230; Mereka balapan melahap tanjakan, menyiksa paha dan betis sampai ke batasnya. Saya lihat debu ban belakangnya saja kagak&#8230;</p>
<p>Villa H. Agoes tampak sudah lebih banyak berbenah. Tampak hamparan lahan parkir baru yang luas siap menerima siapa saja yang ingin kesini. Disinilah titik tertinggi perjalanan Cigeuntis saya yang lalu. Waktu itu saya tidak ikut acara hari-H nya tapi ikutan survey terakhir seminggu sebelumnya, hanya sampai Villa ini dan genjot pulang berdua Om Sigit&#8230;</p>
<p>Kemana ya dua orang yang tadi kebut-kebutan didepan? Buset&#8230; ditinggalin beneran nih, tak tampak mereka batang hidungnya menunggu&#8230;</p>

<p>Tahapan berikutnya adalah tanjakan-tanjakan yang relatif mulus, aspal yang sedang ditambal sulam dengan proyek, sehingga di beberapa tempat trek jadi gravel. Trek berada di sebuah lembah dengan sisi kiri jalan yang turun ke arah sungai dan sisi kanan jalan naik ke arah sebuah deretan punggung pegunungan.</p>

<p>Di beberapa tempat tampak jalan menunjukkan kegarangan-nya dengan menyuguhkan kemiringan yang lumayan bisa membuat paha senut senut. Di part ini saya mengambil cara paling aman dan nyaman untuk menikmati tanjakan: berhenti rutin. Jalan 5 menit berhenti 5 menit. Akibat aturan sendiri ini akhirnya saya bisa kembali bertemu dengan Eyang AN dan Om Didi lagi leha-leha di warung pinggir jalan yang tidak jualan di hari kerja begini. Tampak wajah lega di raut muka mereka berdua, &#8220;Istirahat dulu Om&#8230;&#8221; kata mereka, &#8220;Saya terus dulu&#8230;&#8221; kata saya. karena baru 50 meter yang lalu saya berhenti ambil napas.</p>

<p>Setelah melewati sebuah jembatan, sebuah warung es shanghai (aduh&#8230; coba itu warung buka), tanjakan berubah dari jalan aspal ke jalan beton mulus. Apakah lebih enak buat dilalui? Tentu tidak.. karena kemiringan jalan sudah mulai memasuki tahap tak sopan. Seperti layaknya jalan di area perbukitan rolling, kita mendapati kemiringan tanjakan yang mengejutkan dan sesaat. Jalan bisa tiba-tiba berubah miring sekali, lalu kembali ke sedikit landai. Landai? Ya tetap saja miring keatas. Sejak dari villa haji agoes cuma sekali kita dapat bonus sedikit turunan rolling.</p>
<p>Dua rekan saya melewati saya lagi saat saya rutin istirahat. Akhirnya saya melewati mereka di belokan depan sebuah warung lalu saya dengar perbincangan dengan menyertakan kata-kata ampuh, &#8220;&#8230; pocari dingin&#8230;&#8221; yang segera saja membuat saya berbalik arah dan ikutan berhenti di warung menegak pocari dingin.</p>

<p>Sampai di daerah batu tumpang akhirnya tanjakan mulus berakhir. Kita memasuki jalanan batu makadam, tetap miring keatas, menjadi semakin sulit buat dilewati. Setelah memotret kedua rekan saya, saya memilih berhenti dulu di ujung jalan mulus. Ambil napas dan mengendorkan otot sebelum memasuki daerah full makadam ini.</p>

<p>La Nucía vivirá el domingo 22 de noviembre una auténtica fiesta de la bicicleta. Y es que no siempre se acoge el Campeonato de España de Bicicletas de Montaña para deportistas sordos. Pero además, si a esto se une que el mismo día se celebra en esta localidad alicantina la X Marcha de Bicicletas de Montaña de La Nucía, ya no se puede pedir más.</p>

<p>En total serán treinta los ciclistas con discapacidad auditiva llegados de toda España los que participarán en este Campeonato, organizado por la Federación Española de Deportes para Sordos (FEDS) y que además servirá de clasificatorio para el Campeonato Europeo de la modalidad.</p>
<p>Los ciclistas sordos y con discapacidad auditiva realizarán el mismo recorrido que la Marcha y saldrán al mismo tiempo. Los primeros clasificados obtendrán la clasificación para el Campeonato de Europa de Sordos. Con ello, el objetivo es que además de ser un Campeonato de España sea también una Marcha de integración y solidaridad para estos deportistas con discapacidad que participarán en una prueba diseñada para ciclistas capacitados.</p>

<p>Pernah suatu saat saya NR bareng tmn2 Cikarang, sekitar dua taun lalu. Kalo gak salah itu pengalaman NR pertama kali deh. Wadoh&#8230; orang kok genjot nya cepet-cepet yah&#8230; saya keteteran hanya untuk tetap berada di grup genjot. Mana malam itu diiringi hujan lebat, kita NR melewati jalan kampung yang setiap lobangnya jadi kubangan air dan lumpur. Asik sih, karena sensasi NR memang berbeda, tapi tetap saja, namanya tertinggal kok ya menyiksa&#8230;</p>
<p>Salah satu kejadian NR malam itu adalah kita masuk ke sebuah kubangan lumpur, para senior dengan enaknya bisa ngiclik melewati kubangan lumpur yang hampir meredam separuh ban itu dengan enak saja. Saya, yang belum ngerti cara pake shifter dengan baik dan benar, tentusaja berhenti di tengah kubangan. Kaki kanan masuk ke lumpur menahan beban tubuh dan sepeda. Saat kemudian mencoba melangkah, sendal gunung yang saya pakai, sebelah kanan tertinggal di dalam lumpur&#8230; Wakakaka&#8230; yang tentusaja susah banget buat mencarinya lagi. Kocak kalo ingat.</p>
<p>Kemarin di bogor saya merasakan kembali feeling serupa ini. Wadoh&#8230; Rasanya udah ngosh-ngosh, tetap saja kok ya itu orang2 bisa satu dua bukit di depan saya sih? Pertanyaan yang sering saya dengar jadi terngiang-ngiang di teling, &#8220;Makan apa ya mereka???&#8230;&#8221;</p>
<p>Tapi sebenernya genjot bersama grup yang kuenceng itu enak banget. Sebenarnya kita yang menentukan speed dari grup. Grup pasti menyesuaikan dengan kecepatan kita sebagai pesepeda terpelan. Jadi, speed team jadi pas dengan speed kita. Ini huenak. Bersepeda paling huenak tuh sebenarnya kalau kita gunakan irama kita sendiri, genjotan dengan putaran pedal yang sesuai dengan kemampuan kita. Wuih&#8230; dunia serasa milik berdua: kita dan sepeda tunggangan kita..</p>

<p>Trip bogor ini adalah trip saya yang pertama dengan cara mendatangkan diri begitu saja di Lippo Kebunraya jam 0615 pagi. Berdasarkan info nelepon Om Oni dan Om Dhani, sialnya keduanya tidak genjot minggu pagi ini, saya jadi merasakan seperti dua tahun lalu: datang begitu saja ke tempat berkumpul pesepeda, tanpa mengenal satu pun diantara mereka. Ini pengalaman persis saya alami November 2007 sehingga akhirnya berkenalan dengan 1PDN.</p>
<p>Saat saya datang baru ada satu pesepeda (Pak Dokter?) sampai akhirnya bertahap jam 0730 saat berangkat ada 15 sepeda berkumpul namun hanya 7 sepeda yang genjot sampai Pamonahan.</p>
<p>Genjot jalur turun di Ramayana lewat kolong jembatan kereta api lalu pertigaan belok kiri, tidak seperti ke Sukamantri yang pertigaan belok kanan. Dari situ kita masuk ke perkampungan di sebelah kanan jalan, lewat jalan yang semakin menyempit sampai hanya cukup untuk motor papasan mepet saja. Tau-tau nembus ke kompleks BNR (Bogor Nirwana Resort?).</p>
<p>Wadoh teman-teman bogor dibawah komando Om Wei Min ini kuenceng-kuenceng. Saya setengah mati berusaha mengikuti irama gowes mereka.</p>
<p>Lingkungan BNR cukup asri buat dipandang pagi-pagi hari minggu begini. Landscape achitecture-nya keren juga. Tapi jalannya secara manis manja rolling lembah dan bukit, dan terakhir ada tanjakan yang cukup panjang menuju sebuah jalan aspal berbelok kekiri. Ini jalan kembali masuk ke perkampungan keluar dari BNR.</p>
<p>Jalan kampung ini lebih &#8216;kejam&#8217; dari BNR yang tentusaja lebih landai slope-nya karena kawasan yang dirancang secara arsitektur. Kita mendapatkan kejutan-kejutan tanjakan dan turunan tajam aspal rusak, sampai selanjutnya masuk ke sebuah singletrack dan jalan menanjak singletrack tanah basah yang licin segera menyambut kita. Mantep banget. Tapi ban belakang SmartSam yang cenderung low rolling resistance di belakang benar-benar terasa licinnya di tanjakan seperti ini. Mampus deh. Saya jadi rindu sama Maxxis Medussa yang terlipat rapi di rumah&#8230;</p>
<p>Akhirnya kita melewati 3-4 tanjakan bukit trek tanah keras basah ini dan masuk ke jalan aspal sebuah kawasan resort (lupa namanya euy). Terjadi regrup disini. Dan saya hanya menyisakan satu rekan di belakang ternyata. Semuanya kuenceng-kuenceng di depan.</p>

<p>Sebenarnya menarik sekali lanjutan trip nya yang menuju ke Embrio dan melewati trek downhill yang katanya sudah berbulan-bulan tidak dikunjungi oleh rekan-rekan Bogor pimpinan Om Wei Min ini. Saya memilih untuk balik kanan karena sudah janji sama yang di rumah buat tidak full day biking hari ini mengingat ada sodara-sodara jauh akan berkumpul.</p>
<p>Perlu dicoba lagi genjot bareng rekan-rekan Bogor&#8230;!!!</p>

<p>Monday means time to catch up, and it&#8217;s a little hard to stay inside on the computer when it is beautiful outside. The new gondola here in Sun Valley is spinning, meaning people are in garages waxing skis and already telling tall tales! Last weekend as most of you know, there was an encore showing of <em>Race Across the Sky</em> in Boise. I wanted to share some photos from last weeks fun.</p>

<p>I threw the party at G Fit Studio where my mechanic Jason holds court along with exercise physiologist, Corey Hart.  Fearing no one would show up for the party, I did a media blitz in Boise with an appearance on the <a href="http://www.ktvb.com/video/featured-videos/Ketchum-cyclist-stars-on-big-screen-69910307.html" target="_blank">Channel 7 evening news</a>.  I also did a radio spot with the most listened to morning show in Boise, 94.9 The River.  That was topped off with a great story in the <a href="http://www.idahostatesman.com/outdoors/story/969825.html" target="_blank">Idaho Statesman</a> newspaper. I also cruised around to local bike shops and coffee shops and putting up flyers and chatting with local cyclists. The response has been great from these little, more personal shop visits and the fans are loving it!</p>
<p>The plan worked and over 100 people jammed into G Fit Studio to eat, drink and get prepped for the Race Across the Sky movie showing.  We spent a couple hours mingling over food, <a href="http://www.redbull.com" target="_blank">Red Bull</a>, Pabst Blue Ribbon and Prosecco.  I hosted a free raffle with three tables full of great products from SRAM, KT Tape, Suunto, Light and Motion, Hammer Nutrition, Hydrapak, Skins compression tights, Smartwool, Smith Optics and Buff.  Free food, free drink and free gear!  Everyone seemed very happy!</p>

<p>After the party, the crowd moved over to the movie theater.  This was the 2nd showing of Race Across the Sky in Boise.  The first showing sold out and this one was no different.  I was glad that I had purchased 10 tickets online for myself and a few others.  It was actually oversold and a few of us ended up sitting on the floor to watch the film.  The Boise cycling community is super active and it was great to here them cheer when I came onto the screen.  It was a great night and the film gets me fired up for the 2010 bike racing season! Thanks to everyone who helped with the Boise movie event, especially Jason Bauer at G Fit, Shea Andersen and Outside Media. You are all awesome! &#8211; Reba</p>

<description><![CDATA[Well, despite the fact that it&#8217;s a really lovely day here and much of the rest of the country ]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Well, despite the fact that it&#8217;s a really lovely day here and much of the rest of the country is suffering from severe autumn weather, I resisted the temptation to go out and ride and have put bike maintenance to the top of the priority list.  And not before time.  My poor bikes are looking seriously neglected after a good season out on the Highland (and Sardinian) trails, and a lot of time recently has been devoted to planning for next year, rather than tidying up from this year.</p>
<p>So, I&#8217;m hidden away in the workshop, tongue sticking out the corner of my mouth, systematically taking bike bits apart for some TLC before systematically putting it all back together again.  We pretend it&#8217;s a hardship, but we love it really!</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Yesterday I had great fun doing a photoshoot with the Forde family - a very outdoorsy bunch &#8211; in Thorner, near Leeds.  I found out in the consultation that they&#8217;re keen on mountain bikes, so we arranged to meet in some local woods and they brought the bikes along.  We had a fantastic time swinging on rope swings, climbing rocks, hiding in trees, riding a unicycle (trying in my case) and flying over jumps on the bikes.  The Fordes were excellent subjects  and were game for anything which helped get some great photos from the shoot.</p>
