O teclado sempre esteve presente na vida dos usuários de computador. Digitar comandos em telas pretas com um cursor verde (branco, laranja e etc) era comum e muita gente até hoje ainda acha isso muito prático.

O mouse revolucionou a forma com que as pessoas usavam computador e foi a porta de entrada para o surgimento de sistemas como o MacOS e o Windows. A interatividade de interfaces com janelas trouxe a praticidade e a usabilidade à computação.

Hoje o mouse já não é forma mais moderna de interação com a máquina. As telas touch screen – sensíveis ao toque – vêm se popularizando, principalmente em dispositivos móveis. PCs com essa tecnologia ainda não são para todos, mas se depender dos fabricantes e dos desenvolvedores de aplicativos isso irá mudar nos próximos anos. O fato do Windows 7 estar preparado para trabalhar com telas multitoques é um indício.

Quem – como eu – trabalha o dia inteiro em um notebook acaba comprando um mouse portátil pois usar o “touchpad” não é algo tão prático. Este fato corroborou com a manutenção de um antigo hábito: usar teclas atalho para realizar tarefas no computador.

Parece um recurso retrógrado pensando no mouse e principalmente nas telas sensíveis ao toque, mas quando o assunto é produtividade nada é mais rápido do que não precisar tirar a mão do teclado para nada.

I spent my afternoon skipping through pages of books in the shelter of the local Borders. Since I was there for a purpose, my travels were mostly limited to the children’s section. To some it may seem a dull section, but to me and young readers alike it is a section of limitless possibilities. In no other section could I devour green eggs and reside in a juicy peach or befriend a cookie-addicted mouse.

After scouring through the most well known books I came across a book far less talked about. Out of instinct, I pulled up one of the cheap supplied stools and began to read. At first glance it looked very ordinary. After scanning its reviews, I quickly decided against that assumption.

Most children’s books never address the true trials and hardships of life. It is rare to meet a child in a picture book with a debilitating disease or in dire financial need. Instead, children are fed spoonfuls of rainbows and fulfilled fantasies. Of course, we want to create optimistic children. Yet, shouldn’t we also want children with a realistic view of life?

I have yet to dive in to the realm of children’s literature myself. I imagine how hard it may be to write a book for a child and immediately become intimidated. But, as always, why?

Alongside of fairy littered stories and tales of epic baseball wins, there is always a moral. Hidden in a character, or in the depths of an event, is a small lesson the author hopes to convey to each child reader, one he or she will hold forever. Children’s authors cannot make these morals too obvious though. No child wants to be lectured in their favorite storybook. Authors are then forced to teach through entertainment. That entertainment must then be at a level of understanding that a child could grasp. A children’s story is full of hurdles.

It did not take me long to finish my newfound picture book. Forty pages of easily understood words and to-the-point sentences. At the end, my eyes were damp with tears. It was a touching story, especially in these economic times. My experience occurred in the pages of Eve Bunting’s Fly Away Home.

As I left Borders, I considered the endless possibilities of ideas for children’s books. Now, writing this, I dream, that one day far from now, I may write an unknowingly influential children’s book. Time shall tell.

The Royal Navy Should Blow Em Out Of The Water !!!!…..Sharks off the British coast: Oil tankers refuse to unload until prices rise… keeping YOUR fuel costs soaring

These tankers have been parked off our shores for months, refusing to unload their oil until prices have risen even higher. The delay makes millions for speculators… and keeps your petrol costs soaring.

Laden with fuel, three oil tankers sit idly within sight of the British coastline, playing a waiting game that is driving up petrol prices for hard-pressed motorists. They are part of a flotilla of ten vessels refusing to unload their cargo until market speculation has driven up its price to the level they want. And as the value of that cargo is currently rising by over £1million a day, driven partly by profiteering traders and speculators, it is unlikely to see a petrol station any time soon.

Three of the flotilla of ten tankers that have been anchored in Lyme Bay, off the Devon Coast, cynically waiting for oil prices to be driven up even further. With such tactics, it is not hard to see why prices at the pumps are forecast to have risen by 26 per cent in a year by this Christmas. AA president Edmund King said: ‘Traders and speculators seem to be storing up oil until the price rises. Drivers can expect more hikes in the pipeline. Motorists are paying the price of this at the pumps.’ Residents near Brixham in Devon have watched with growing anger as the tankers have anchored in Lyme Bay for the past two months. The price of a barrel of oil has increased from $40 a barrel a year ago to $80, with the cost expected to soar even higher in the next few months.

If the price is not high enough, the tankers simply cruise around the high seas – or park in a safe haven – until it goes up sufficiently high to sell on in the UK or elsewhere. City analysts say the refusal to unload ultimately drives up the price motorists pay at the pumps. Experts say every $2 rise in the price of oil puts 1p on the price of a litre – adding 50p to every fill-up. In total, the Lyme Bay tankers carry a million tons of oil. Once refined, that will create 250,000 tons of petrol – equivalent to 340million litres – enough to fill up nearly seven million Ford Mondeos.

A spokesman for Brixham coastguards said the huge ships were now a familiar sight in the bay: ‘Some have been there two months or more,’ she said. ‘They’re awaiting orders. The cargo will be worth more now than when they first arrived.’ As the Mail reported on Tuesday it was disclosed that petrol prices were on track to have soared by 26 per cent this year – fuelled by speculators and tax rises – and were set to hit 110p a litre by Christmas. They are already at 108.6p a litre with diesel just short of an average £5 gallon at 109.8p a litre. The last time prices were so high was when oil was trading at $100 a barrel in September 2008.

The extent of oil speculation is even beginning to alarm producer countries. The Arab-dominated OPEC oil cartel warned last week it will increase supply and thus reduce the price if the speculators do not relent.One of the giant crude oil tankers, the 159,300-ton SKS Segura, registered in Norway, first arrived on September 24 – more than eight weeks ago. The 50,300-ton Tristar Kuwait tanker, registered in the Bahamas, has been awaiting orders in Lyme Bay since September 2.Another anchored in Lyme Bay is the 43,000-ton Alkman, also registered in the Bahamas, which arrived on November 1. The 72,000-ton Petali Lady, registered in Liberia, has been anchored in Lyme Bay since September 27. And the 99,000-ton Danishregistered Torm Ingeborg has been there since October 10. This is not the first time tankers have anchored in Lyme Bay. Several ships did the same last April before moving on.

I’m A Celebrity: Katie Price panics during her third trial in the jungle and faces a showdown with Kim Woodburn

The celebrities must be wondering if they will ever get a chance to prove their strength and courage against the critters of the jungle after Katie Price was given her third bushtucker trial. The mouthy glamour model has had to do every task since she entered the jungle and looked visibly shaken as the public voted for her to do yet another. In a live trial last night, she shook violently as she took part in a jungle school trial where she faced snakes, worms, spider, baby crocodiles, eels and a beetle-based goo.

She had to plunge her face into desks filled on one side with a stinking, sticky goo full of meals worms to retrieve a star, and other other with meal worms, spiders and other critters. At one point, Katie hyperventilated as she came up for air and contemplated sticking her face back into the hideous mix. The next ‘lesson’ was English, where Katie had to remove pieces of word painted with words from a tank of snakes and complete Shakespearian quotations.

This was followed by her retrieving a star from the bottom of a tank full of baby crocodiles (with their mouths held with an elastic band). But the star finally balked at a large glass of beetle goo. She attempted to drink it, cheered on by the other celebrities, but after taking a sip, retched and passed to the next task. She obtained another star by putting her hands into gloves filled with fire ants to pour a test tube of liquid into a glass beaker using tongs but knocked a second tube over and lost another star.

She failed her maths task, where she had to climb into a pool full of eels and pick up one, after solving the equation (3+2) – 4 + ? Her final task involved standing in a pair of plastic galoshes and rain coat while cockroaches were poured into the jacket and boot. She managed an impressive nine stars out of 12. TV presenter Justin Ryan told her: ‘You’re a machine Katie. Well done.’ Newcomer, boxer Joe Buger was more interested in rubbing the cockroaches off her chest. Earlier in the show, viewers saw Katie taking part in yet another trial.

She yelled: ‘I knew it. I said it again, didn’t I?  It’s so out of order.  I predicted it because I’ve got so many haters out there.’ But she added: ‘It’s weird, I’m just not as ballsy as I used to be.’ Ahead of the trial, she said to the Bush Telegraph: ‘Some people want to see me and some people want to see me suffer.  I can only do my best but I hope the public give other people a chance to do it, don’t pick on me. ‘Six years ago I would have been game for anything but I just can’t do it anymore.  I’m just a wimp.’ She had to lie inside the a bottle with six corks at the neck of the bottle. She had to unscrew each section – worth two stars – after answering an Australia-related question.

Inside the bottle were 60,000 cockroaches, the most used in any trial, 10,000 crickets and two buckets of meal worms. Katie got off to a bad start after the inside of the bottle spun causing the critters to fall on top of her. She got the first question wrong after being asked which animal killed more people in Australia. She answered shark when the answer was horses. She gained two stars when she successfully spelled kangaroo backwards and deduced that if a camp mate completed a trial and won eight stars but lost half, then found two, they would return six stars to camp.

Coronation Street’s Tony Gordon is banged up for murder

This is the moment Coronation Street killer Tony Gordon finds himself banged up in a police cell after sensationally confessing to murder. Tonight’s episode sees twisted Tony, played by Gray O’Brien, walk from the banks of the canal to the nearest police station, where he reveals he murdered Liam Connor (Rob James-Collier) and pushed Roy Cropper (David Neilson) into the canal.

Tony is quizzed by police and admits that he hired Jimmy Dockerson to run over Liam out of jealousy, before going on to admit that he just tried to kill Roy at the canal. Things take a turn for the worse when his fiancee Maria Connor (Samia Smith) heads to the police station to confront him. She is shocked to hear that Tony’s handed himself in and desperate for some answers. When the police confirm her worst fears, she is horrified at the latest turn of events.In the interview room, Tony pleads with her to believe that his feelings for her were genuine and that he’s tried to make amends for his evil deeds.

But will Maria be able to forgive him? The edge-of-your-seat plot is proving to be a big draw for viewers, with 11.2 million tuning in to see Tony try to drown Roy on Monday night. It remains to be seen if the cafe owner will survive or Tony will have to take the rap for two murders.

I said in an earlier post that Miley caught a large fox squirrel a few weeks ago. She had it in her mouth, and it was squealing very loudly. She trots up to me with all the pride in the world. “I finally got one!”  she seemed to say.

But that squirrel figured out how to get out of her mouth, and once he did, he put up a heck of a fight getting away. Golden retrievers very often don’t know how to kill, so this squirrel was able to take to the trees.

A fox squirrel, for those you who don’t know, is a huge tree squirrel that can weigh as much as 2 or 3 pounds.

When my grandpa was illegally ferreting, he send his ferret into a hollow tree where a fox squirrel had taken refuge. That squirrel sent the ferret packing!

menurut teman saya yang sering menerima pesanan merakit komputer daya tahan speaker SIM**** tidak begitu bagus ( setelah satu tahun banyak complain) dan Shielding terhadap magnet juga kurang sempurna (bisa merusak monitor jika di letakkan terlalu dekat). dan kalau pun ingin tetap membeli speaker dengan subwoofer saya sarankan ada fasilitas pengatur BASS.

Si no les interesa aprender a ilustrar digitalmente, pueden irse hasta al final y solo dar click al último link donde pueden ver la ilustración en un tamaño mucho más grande en mi página de Deviant Art (y comprarla si les gusto!) ^_^ – Cabe notar que la forma en que lo hago no es ni la única, ni la mejor, pero si la que yo uso, así que a quien le interese, puede partir de ahí y luego adaptar esto a su estilo!

Todo empieza en papel...

Como (casi) toda ilustración, todo comienza en un pedazo de papel, y con un lapiz a la mano. Nunca está de más decir que lo más importante es la idea. Si no tienen la idea, es dificil plasmar algo en el papel, asi que ponganse a hacer notas, vean otras revistas, otros comics y de pronto como por arte de magia mientras estamos en lugares inesperados – !! – Llega la idea, y entonces sí, es hora de plasmarla en el papel.

Escáner + Wacom = Tinta digital!

El siguiente paso, es normalmente entintar las líneas para que estas resalten y la ilustración se vea más limpia. Gracias a la magia de la tecnología, esto se hace puede hacer digitalmente, escaneándo primero la imágen, y luego usando una maravillosa tabla Wacom se entinta todo directamente en Photoshop a mano (al menos en mi caso, con esta ilustración) – El tip #1 es: Entintar en una capa diferente a la de la imagen escaneada y usar la herramienta de “Brush”, en un tamaño de 3 pixeles. Lo demás, es pura práctica. El tip #2 es: en la parte superior de la sección de capas, viene un textito que dice “Lock”, si le dan click al primer recuadrito (que tiene cuadritos blancos y grises), su capa queda “transparente” y pueden cambiar de color cualquier linea con solo pasar el “pincel” encima. Esto es muy útil al final del proceso.

Y se hizo el color!

Una vez entintada nuestra ilustración en una capa nueva, generalmente debajo del entintado, empezamos a poner los colores base de cada cosa. Para que quede mejor, lo hago a mano con el pincel (con un tamaño mucho mayor) y me encargo de que no quede ningun “hueco”, incluyendo el color blanco. Es importante que no queden huecos, porque en el siguiente paso, eso nos va a alivinar la vida enormemente.

Una vez teniendo un color base en toda la ilustración, sigue el famoso sombreado. Lo más importante para generar sombras, es SABER de donde viene la luz en la ilustración. Para fines didactico-explicativos, lo señalé literalmente en la ilustración. Teniendo eso en mente, entonces empezamos a sombrear. En este tipo de ilustraciones, y normalmente hago 2 “niveles” de sombra, y no esta de más decir que cada una, tiene su propia capa. El tip #1: Para sombrear con más facilidad, usa la “varita mágica” de photoshop, seleccionando alguno de los colores base, y ya teniéndolo seleccionado, pintando, en la capa correspondiente, la sombra (de este modo no te “sales” del area, ya que esta seleccionada). El tip #2: Para seleccionar los colores de sombra correctos, usa la herramienta de “cuentagotas”, seleccionando el color base, y despues cambiándolo por algún tono mas oscuro en la gama de colores. - Da click en la imágen para ver la colocación de sombrados animados –

El siguiente paso son las luces y brillos, que basicamente, son lo opuesto a las sombras que ya hice. No es algo que se tenga que hacer siempre, pero en este caso, me latio hacerlo y use 2 capas para “brillos” o “luces”, una más brillante que la anterior. La forma de hacerlo es exactamente la misma que las sombras, pero con su obvia distinción. Una vez terminado esto, sigue lo más importante: Los detalles. - Da click en la imágen para ver la colocación de brillos animados -

Los detalles son la parte que le dan vida a la ilustración y la hacen ver más allá de un simple dibujo. En realidad no hay mucho que hacer más que practicar para saber donde van, que se ve mejor y como hacerlos. En este caso, lo primero que hice, fueron las luces, que no son más que círculos blancos, con cortes para simular la proyección de la luz, y borradas a mano, con diferentes opacidades de la herramienta de la goma para simular que la luz se hace “menos intensa” según se proyecta. Los letreros no son más que recortes pegados y modificados con la herramienta de “Transformar” y los brillos de los letreros de la pared, son hechos a mano con el pincel blanco a diferentes opacidades. Al final, la nieve, no es mas que usar la herramienta del pincel en diferentes tamaños, y con estilo degradado. Como siempre, mi recomendación, es usar un layer, por cada “detalle”, tal como van apareciendo en la imagen. - Da click en la imágen para ver la colocación de detalles animados -

La versión final...

Para finalizar la imagen, añadí los textos necesarios, el globo de texto y como debe ser, mi firma digital. Un último tip, es que al final se pueden retocar las líneas del entintado, pintándolas de diferentes colores. Por ejemplo las líneas que se cruzaban con las luces del fondo, decidí pintarlas de un color gris/blanco, para que le dieran más intensidad a la luz y pareciera que la orilla se perdía en la luz. Del mismo modo se pueden colorear dichas líneas de cualquier color, siempre y cuando, hayan seleccionado el cuadrito de las opciones que menciono al principio de esto.
