Make sure you have a back up plan. If something is out of stock, we do not (except for very, very rare occasions) promise to have it back in stock before Christmas. In the case of package deals – like the Cow Phur for Super and City Sacs – once they’re gone, they are 100% sold out and we will not have the option to order you more. If you have your heart set on one of those, come EARLY or have a plan for a different Sac/Cover combo that you won’t mind taking home instead.

Make sure your alarms are set. The best part of the deal takes place between 5am – 5:59am. Have an alarm set and get here early – lines start forming at the door of our store around 4am. Coming in from out of town? Check the Mayfair Mall website for directions. Once you’re in the mall, we’re upstairs towards Macy’s, directly across from the Movie Theater. Not an early riser? You can still snag a small deal later in the day, too! (But trust us – if you get up early, your suffering will not be in vain.)

First and foremost, figure out what you want. The lines on Black Friday are notoriously long – last year, ours was the second largest in Mayfair and went all the way down to the Body Shop (three stores away, for those of you unfamiliar with Mayfair). Because of this, we try very hard to get customers in and out as quickly as possible – but we can only do that if you have an idea of what you are looking at before hand. There will be lovely staff members available to help you, but you need to have some idea of color and size if you want to be home before the last of the leftovers have been devoured.

How do you figure out what you want? Stop into the store! Give us a call (414.774.5683)! Those of you with telephonophobia, feel free to e-mail us or even leave us a comment on the blog. Keep in mind, however, we are closed on Thursday (to devour turkeys and tofurkeys of our own) so get in touch with us as soon as possible. You can even shop around on the website, but please keep in mind – LoveSac.com is generally about 25% more expensive than what you will pay in-store.

What do you do once you know what you want? Set your alarm. To get the best deals, you need to get up and get here during the first hour the mall is open – 5:00am – 5:59am – and we don’t want anyone oversleeping! Plan out your outfit for the big day, organize a balanced breakfast. Cooking for Thanksgiving? Toss together a quiche from the leftovers and heat it up Friday morning.

That being said, we will be taking measures to ensure that if you are in the store (or at least in the line for the store) before your sale hour ends, you will get the sale you were waiting for (even if you’re not rung up at the register during that sale). Likewise, we will be equally as strict with those of you who are late. Think your sixth grade teacher strict: no exceptions. If you get into line at 7.01, you will unfortunately be included in the 10% off group, so just remember, better early than late!

Those of you who won’t, we have more inserts on their way and you’ll be able to snag ‘em in the next few weeks. Some of you will be able to take your covers same day (on a first come/first served basis), and others of you will have to wait; however, we will not stop you from preordering your covers to get the sale prices. You might just have a little bit of a wait, which again is a small price to pay for a great deal. If you’re concerned on getting product for the Holidays, just ask your friendly Sales Rep (we will be the lovely ladies in the LoveSac shirts, for the record) and she will be able to help you out. Corporate celebrates with cake!

But just as you start to fall in love with these amazing, totally functional, modular couches, you realize: even buying piece by piece, they’re just to big for your space. That’s where 5 Series comes in.

5 Series looks and works just like the typical Sactionals – called 6 Series – with two major exceptions. 5 Series are about 20% smaller all the way around (Bases measure 31″Wx26″Dx17″H while Sides measure 31″Wx5″Dx28″H) and they are also sold with covers right away. 5 Series don’t have the same selection of covers as 6 Series, but at any given time we have about three to choose from: Chocolate Velvish, which we have year round, and two rotating seasonal covers. Right now, those two are Black Leather and Bidness Grey Tweed.

Bases for Bidness Tweed and Chocolate are $300, while Sides for those covers are $150. In the Leather, 5 Series Bases are $350 while Sides are $175. Fear not: covers can still be removed, washed (in cases other than the leather), and changed to other styles, which can still be ordered from our custom books.

Measuring your space and at least window shopping early on can help you narrow down your options and find what you really need, allowing you to quickly take advantage of sales that come later in the season (like Black Friday* for example).

Learn about what’s in stock. At LoveSac especially, things go out of stock quickly. Alright, everyone. It’s that time of year: the Holidays. The time to get in to the spirit, to share with others, to do good deeds. It’s the time of year that you spend with family, the time to love one another. It’s especially the time of year to cherish how lucky we really are.

While you’re sitting at home, safe and comfortable in your SuperSac, laying under a phur lined Love Throw, there are people out there suffering. While you’re lounging your Sactional, contemplating if you want to rearrange it into a Movie Lounger or leave it as is, there are people out there who are not as lucky. There are people out there who still have lame, uncomfortable furniture.

Yes, we know, it’s totally shocking, but it’s true. The 38 nationwide LoveSac stores are trying as fast as they can to spread the word and save as many uncomfortable lives as possible, but the number of people still blind to the ways of the Sac is still monumental. (We’ve lobbied for it to be declared a National Crisis, but for some reason they just won’t make the announcement.) The best way to combat this around the Holidays is of course for you to buy LoveSacs or LoveSac starters (like our amazing Other Comfy Stuff) for as many people as possible. Maybe a Manor Suede Package in Super or City for your brother, possibly a King Blanket for mom. A simple Base and Side of our Sactionals can make a great chair and starter set up for your off-to-college niece.

The best way to get started on this altruistic endeavor is to get up from your all-too-comfortable seat and get over to your Local LoveSac (at Mayfair Mall) for this, the last weekend before Christmas. We here can help you figure out exactly what you need for the people you care about most – the ones you want to experience a truly comfortable life. With Mayfair Mall opening at 5am this year, that’s no easy feat. Lucky for you, we’ve compiled some key points to help you plan ahead and make sure you’re up and ready to go.

STEP ONE: PLANNING – So. You’ve decided to go Black Friday shopping. Obviously, you’re going to need a plan. Start with your list of stores, starting with the ones with the best deal (LoveSac) and working your way back based on sales. Then for each store, make sure you make a list of what you need! This will help the sales staff get you what you need and on your way to your next stop ASAP. Keep in mind if you’re an internet shopper that not all stores have all of the same products as their online counterpart. Be sure to call the store and verify that they’ll have (or be able to get) what you’re looking for. If you’re planning for your LoveSac sale, you can always just give us a call – our number here is 414.774.5683, and we are always happy to help you plan your purchase ahead of time to make Black Friday shopping easy, quick, and fun.

STEP TWO: HAVE A PLAN B – The awful truth is that sometimes, even if you get there really early, super popular items might be sold out. The benefit of shopping this early is that a lot of times the item can be ordered, but sometimes with really popular things they’re going to stay sold out until after the holidays. This is where a Plan B is important: you want to have a back up plan that is just as good, or be able to find a cute way of showing what you got in case you don’t have it right away. At LoveSac we have a cute assortment of KickSacs and Phurry Balls that can stand in as a miniature substitute should your favored size/cover/whatever becomes old out and you need a stand in gift until the main event arrives. Grab a few to hand out for fun, too!

STEP THREE: SCHEDULING – If you think this is the same as planning, you are dead wrong: this scheduling is directly about your sleep scheduling. Getting up at 5am is hard, and there a few ways to approach it. One is to go to bed REALLY early the night before. This isn’t hard even for night owls for a full tummy of Thanksgiving delights. Some people, though, fear over sleeping and go for the all nighter. We do not recommend this. Instead, opt for a cat nap and THEN get up to start your day. All sorts of sources (including the fabulous website, Planet Green) are coming out with information that naps are helpful for all kinds of things, including preventing cancer. Naps also make you less likely to be grumpy, and as your shopping companions and any sales representatives can attest, we prefer you not grumpy. Really.

STEP FOUR: FOOD – A healthy breakfast is one of the most important meals of the day. Note: this does not mean a heavy breakfast. We recommend some scrambled eggs (protein keeps you going!), granola, yogurt, and for sure some fresh fruit or fruit juice. Vitamin C will keep you energized much longer than caffeine and sugar, so take it easy on the latter and load up on the citrus. This will also help to bolster your immune system against any of the people fighting the flu and the crowds at the same time.

STEP FIVE: GETTING READY – Make sure you take a shower in the morning. It’ll help to wake you up and make sure you have your wits about you! Guys, you don’t have too much else to do, but Ladies, we women of the Sac have always found that it helps us to get in the mode to start our day if we get ourselves completely ready to go out instead of just shuffling into the predawn light in pajamas. A nice outfit, done hair, makeup (if you wear it) will all make you feel like it’s time to get going and give you the energy you need to beat the crowds.

Then it’s just up to you to race to the mall and start soon to be huge line in front of your favorite store (LoveSac)! Remember to keep an eye on all the sales – make sure you check back Tuesday to get the dirt on ours – and make sure you have a great Black Friday! Happy shopping!

We hope you’re by this point in life, you blog readers are aware that the most important thing on the fourth is where your seats are for the fireworks. The grilling out and water fights are all fine and good and all, but you don’t want to make my middle school mistake: feasting and then driving out to nowheresville to find an old hill where our only other companion was a grass snake. (In the scramble to get away from a snake, we found our other recently deceased companion, half of a rabbit.)

The point is, make sure you stake out your spot early. To do that, make sure you’re so comfortable you don’t want to leave. Here are our steps to a perfect July 4th:

1. Find the perfect spot early on. Those of you in Milwaukee, the lake front is great, but there are also some great hills nearby that make prime spots.
2. Bring the perfect group of people. You’re going to be waiting for the big show for awhile: this means you need friends you can count on to entertain you as well as defend your spot if needed (have the little scrappy friends make food runs).
3. Make sure your food and beverage options are covered! Whether its a cooler packed full of goodies or food runs (see 2), you need to be sure you have provisions. Otherwise you’ll soon be down and out when a family of 6 swipes your grade-a look out area.
4. Bathroom breaks, anyone? Plan your spot so that it can be easily guarded while short trips are taken to the bathroom. Nothing is worse than being at the other end of a park from the second most important spot in the place – the lavatory.
5. Stake your location with some radically comfortable furniture. Yes, folks, we mean LoveSacs. If you want the best spot – we mean best view, best comfort, overall best set up, you NEED to bring a LoveSac with you.
