I went to the Mr. Pickles on Foothills Blvd., and I must say that I was a little surprised when I walked in. I thought there would be a display case full of pickles. You know, dill pickles, sweet pickles, kosher pickles and more. Turns out that the only pickles they have are the ones going in the sandwiches.

The next thing I noticed was that the shop was all about Jim Carey. There were posters of his movies and pictures of him on the wall. When I looked at the menu I saw sandwiches named; Fire Marshall Bill, The Cable Guy, The Grinch, Liar Liar and so on. It seemed kind of strange to me.

The two young ladies working at Mr. Pickles were very friendly. They told me the store was a franchise, and all the stores had to have a theme. It is up to each owner to decide what the theme will be. I guess the guy on Foothills is a Jim Carey fan.

They didn’t have a veggie sandwich on the menu, but they did make a special one for me. They heated it up a bit which made it taste even better. They also have soups and salads.

About those arrow signs they have out on the sidewalks. I was told some of the stores actually have the Mr. Pickles outfit. The Foothills store only has an arrow. They believe the arrows bring in business, and the arrows help people to identify them with Mr. Pickles.

There are four Mr. Pickles in Roseville. I challenge you to have lunch at each one to check out their themes. They make a good sandwich, so it will be worth your while to visit all of them.

His name is Mr Pickle.

Shortly after thaddius_larue tipped us off that someone at Yahoo was looking into the identity of the “The Pickler,” we received detailed account information from a tipster at Yahoo, including name, address and telephone number.  Our source has suggested that the alleged kidnapper once resided in Foster City and is presently employed by a San Francisco Tattoo studio.  This information is yet to be substantiated.  Additionally, Mission Mission has the thief’s Comcast Cable address.

Soon after we received the information, “The Pickler” claimed that he would return Mr. Pickle:

“ill return it jeez, just a prank that has gone too far. never intended to harm him, just found him out on the street at 11 at night and thought it would be funny. he will be home very very soon.”

It appears the saga is nearing its conclusion.  Hopefully we will see our friend on SVN once again.

whoa!! ive been in and out of town so i havent been able to properly address this. but lots of phone calls about this and i am really trying to figure it out.

check it out, i run a photo magazine called “hamburger eyes”. also run a community darkroom called “photo epicenter”. on our website we have a side blog called “cellybrain”. its runs off our flickr account. people can submit cell phone photos through their phone, either straight to the flickr account, or to my phone or email and then i can forward it to the flickr. it updates the site automatically and immediatly. its just a neat feature for our site that a friend help me setup.

if you look at the flickr page, you can see that the cell phone photos come from all kinds of sources. not just mine.

anyways, people who submit cell phone photos often give out the info so others can post too. ive already notified pretty much all my contacts to find out who actually sent the photo. no responses yet. there was a tag with “mark” on it but the mark i know doesnt send cell photos.

i eat at mr. pickles all the time. i am a business owner. i live in the mission. i have no reason to steal this sign. i too have a huge hand painted sign on the front door of my space that costs hundreds of dollars, and i understand how painful it must be to have such a thing stolen.

i got a phone call this morning that the cops came to our place of business and searched for the sign!!!?? i had to cut my trip short and rushed back from san diego to take care of this.

if you know me, you know that i am always willing to help in any situation.

i saw that you tried to contact me through flickr but since we have it on auto pilot i never need to login to see if i have messages.

i got an email from armand at mission local when this went up, and i told him that i would notify all my people to help me figure this out. which i have done and no response. i have been back and forth between sd and la on photo assignment which is why i havent commented.

i will keep searching, but please understand that i, ray potes, am not a thief.

“Pickle Birdy”, “Mr. Chicken”,  and  “Pickle Chicken” are just a few of the alternates Rogan concocted.  Of course, Rogan is still very much under the weather and probably suffering from sleep deprivation and a fever induced psychosis which prevents his brain from retaining ANY information.

Or, he’s just 3!

Either way, Mr. Pickles has found a loving home here with us and regardless of what adorable monikers the boys create, Mr. Pickles is still the cutest little chicken around!

I was introduced to The Chicken Game through a new blogger friend…Hi Kate!!!…and I have to admit, at first I was weary.  I was all “are you kidding me?,  a little chicken, in strange poses with funny captions, but then I saw some more pictures of Mr. Pickles, and was all “Oh yeah, of course, a little chicken in strange poses with funny captions, now that is funny!” AND, as a bonus, I have more blog fodder!

So I jumped on the band wagon after Kate…Hi Kate!!… gave me my own Mr. Pickles at a recent girls weekend.  And I actually have not yet introduced Mr. Pickles to my kids or my husband…I’ve been having all the fun by myself.  Of course Rogan has been sick ALL WEEK LONG and I was trying to wait to introduce my little chicken to all three boys at once.

Today Mr. Pickles is helping to care for my poor wee Rogan.  He hardly ate anything yesterday and woke up in the night with a fever.  So we’re taking it easy today and catering to his every need.

I’ve been talking for years about bringing home a French Bulldog – he has been lovingly known as, Mr. Pickles. However, my hectic life and travel schedule with work always seem to get in the way of giving a pup the dedication he/she needed and deserved so I patiently waited for a better time. Then when I thought ‘things’ would calm down a bit and I would be home longer than two weeks, I unexpectedly feel in love and got engaged. Planning a big move from the US to Europe I just knew there was no way I could have a tiny sweet frogdog in quarantine during the import process to the old country, so again, I waited. And waited. And waited.

Now unpacked (well, almost) and settled in Europe, I just got married to the most-perfect-guy-for-me-ever (more coming on that later), and we’re loving our life together. Having both resigned, from great but busy corporate brief case carrying positions after more than a decade, we’re now in an ideal situation to give up our lives as we know it devote time and buckets of love to a puppy .

So, seriously, I am getting to something……Last night we met this adorable little Frenchie named, Esther who is ready to have puppies and looking forward to being a mom! She’s just a perfect little girl – petite, mellow, sweet, barely snores or farts at all and is just cute as can be. (I think Henri Hopper would dig her – even if she is knocked up).

I didn’t get any pictures while we were there but hopefully in the next few weeks we’ll have some good news to share and will be introducing you to our new dawggie. I’m SO excited!
