MRIS Reports in their local real estate report that the availability of homes in the region combined with the “historically low mortgage rates, as stated in the report, offer a very bright picture for the Loudoun County real estate market come third quarter and forward.

Some details of the recent report obtained from MRIS to note:

  • Average price in the housing market increased between the 1st and 2nd quarters of 2009 from $335,900 and $383,200. The 3rd quarter is forecasted to continue on this trend.
  • As of the end of the 2nd quarter of 2009, there were 2,442 homes on the market in Loudoun County.
  • There were a reported 567 homes sold during the second quarter and 289 new homes built.
