you should know by now that i’m a teenage girl at heart.

therefore, it should be no surprise to you that i’m going to the lady gaga concert tonight and i’m SUPER STOKED!!!

now, let me just be a snooty music fan for a minute and point out that i’ve liked lady gaga since before it was cool to like lady gaga. i liked her when she had dark hair and the castlemonkey thought she was hot. i actually have vintage gaga in heavy rotation on my ipod, and i’ve been considering a gaga halloween costume since march (mostly because i don’t like wearing pants, but that’s beside the point).

but it wasn’t until her mtv movie awards performance that i got really excited to see her — she’s crazy and she’s nuts and it’s going to be fabulous show.

It was one hell of a night at the 2009 Video Music Awards thanks in part to Janet Jackson’s thrilling tribute to brother Michael.

The touching song-and-dance number featured professionals performing all of his iconic moves from “Thriller”, “Bad” and “Smooth Criminal”. It wasn’t until midway through the tribute that Janet emerged to nail a choreographed routine synched to “Scream” (which she and Michael won three Moonmen for in 1995).

Jackson ended the performance with her hands folded in prayer, looking above.

“Janet was getting a little emotional,” choreographer Tyce Diorio told Us Magazine during rehearsals. “The most emotional moment was just standing all together in the room. His music was playing, and we all had our costumes on, and we just kind of looked around each other. I don’t think it could ever be replicated again.”

Blood, sweat, tears and all… It was definitely worth it!

I’d like to inform you that a good chunk of the U.S.A thinks that you are a Grade-A Certified Ass. As an average normal non-star status holding human being I know you are thinking that I can only “hate” on you. I’m also pretty sure your head is probably too inflated to realize that people aren’t confused and pissed off because Put A Ring on It wasn’t a good music video, but because…umm…well…you totally barged in on poor-innocent-Taylor Swift. It isn’t like Taylor was only saying her acceptance speech… and It isn’t like Taylor Swift took YOUR microphone when you were trying to ACCEPT an award. God forbid the poor innocent girl swipe back her time of fame. We all know you would FLIP OUT. Furthermore, you’ve managed to give a good majority of the people watching the award show the same face that Mike Myers and Chris Rock gave the camera during your “George Bush Doesn’t Like Black People” burst-out. The real person I feel sorry for is your publicist…or maybe you need to fire your publicist. Because the poor person is trying to keep a positive public image on you… and then well…

I think you get the picture. Why not go steal candy from a Baby…I’m sure the baby can spare  a second of spotlight for you.

Lady GaGa esteve bem, mas a actuação da noite foi de Pink, assim como já tinha sido em 2008. Pela espectacularidade, pela beleza, pela dificuldade e até mesmo pela simplicidade, por contraditório que possa parecer. “Sober” lá no alto, com um trapézio.

Madonna teve a responsabilidade de iniciar o tributo a Michael Jackson. Um discurso sentido, mesmo não sendo próxima de Jackson, que marcou um dos momentos altos da noite.

As cerimónias dos prémios da MTV estão cada vez mais estranhas. Muito brilho, muito movimento, muita pressa, muito barulho. Muito ruído. Tanto, que os prémios acabam por ficar perdidos no meio de todo o fogo-de-artifício. Não que fogo-de-artifício seja mau, pelo contrário (as actuações de Pink, Lady Gaga e até de Taylor Swift provam isso mesmo), mas tudo o que é demais não presta e o pessoal gosta de algum “suminho” à mistura.

Russel Brand, novamente o anfitrião, parece cada vez mais deslocado da festa da MTV, que este ano voltou a Nova Iorque. O inglês não consegue escapar aos tiques de humor britânico, que não chega para fazer sequer sorrir os americanos. Levou ao extremo o humor baseado no sexo, disse palavrões a mais (todos cortados pela MTV, mesmo em directo) e chegou mesmo a ser inconveniente ao não saber onde parar na história do suposto hermafroditismo de Lady GaGa. Até a própria, que é uma sem-vergonha, se mostrou incomodada. Não havia necessidade.

Assim, os VMA 2009 foram estranhos. Sim, com a ajuda de Kanye West, logo no início, ao interromper o discurso de Taylor Swift (ganhou Melhor Vídeo no Feminino) para dizer que a vencedora devia ter sido Beyoncé porque tem “um dos melhores vídeo de todos os tempos”. A senhora de “Single Ladies” acabaria por ganhar o Vídeo do Ano e repor a justiça, ao chamar Taylor Swift ao palco para ter “o seu momento”. Mas os VMA foram estranhos não só por isto. Não houve aquela lógica dos vencedores que costuma pautar estas cerimónias. Parece que alguém disse “Cada um leva um prémio para casa e ficam todos contentes”, e assim foi.

De resto, os VMA estão transformados num festival de música, chique é certo, mas um festival, em que a entrega dos prémios só serve para se ter tempo de mudar os palcos.

I got the bill for the newspaper today and it occured to me that I never read it anymore. I can’t remember the last time that I watched the news, or TV at all for that matter. I basically have no idea what goes on outside my Rob bubble. Now don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining. To quote Twilight (sort of), I feel very protective of him and I don’t have the strength…to give a fuck.

I realized I spent the whole  summer in a Rob filled fuckhawt haze. Oh! What a glorious summer it was! Maybe some of you were there, as well. Let’s reminice, shall we?

We went bike riding. I believe this is considered to be a good work-out. I know it got my heart to racing.

We spent the entire day in the park, playing in wonderland. *wink*

Broke the sound barrier at Comic Con.

We went to Cannes and he was so beautiful it took my breath away.

Stole the show at the MTV Movie Awards.

The Teen Choics Awards left me unable to walk straight or think coherently for days.

 The wind blew and I’ve never been more grateful for anything in my life!

Various photoshoots and outtakes were released, timed accordingly, so the fuckhawtness doesn’t cause the ozone layer to explode.

I’ve been noticing an interesting trend happening on my little blog.  In the last two and a half months, I’ve posted 17 or 18 times, but by FAR the most popular is the one I wrote about Kristen Stewart.  WordPress allows me to see which posts are the most popular, and this one takes the cake.  Every day I get hits on this post, even today!  Yesterday’s total was 11.  That’s odd, considering it’s over two months old.   If I had to guess, I would think that a post about Rob would be more popular, but apparently I don’t know anything about what the Twihards are interested in.

Another feature of WordPress that I personally enjoy is that you can see exactly what phrases are searched that lead to hits.  The girls over at LTT share theirs with people every once in awhile, always resulting in a hilarious post.  And I have to say, sometimes the ones on mine can be pretty funny:

I’m sure I’ve probably Googled some funny things in my life, especially taken out of context, but really?  Who is searching for “Kristen Stewart is not nice” on the internet?  I’m betting it’s a bitter preteen girl who is not happy about the latest Robsten rumor and is trying to justify her hatred of poor Kristen by finding some example of her being “not nice.”  Hopefully once these people read that post, they have a change of heart, because if you recall, I believe I solidly proved that Kristen Stewart IS nice.  These people better be switching over to Team Kristen…I think I might actually be single-handedly converting every Kristen-hater on the planet.

This leads me to believe that maybe I’m going about this blog all wrong.  That’s why I’ve decided to change the focus from all things Twilight-related to ONLY Kristen Stewart-related subjects.  Any news, gossip, appearances, paparazzi photos, etc will be found here for your reading pleasure…okay…maybe not.  I like Kristen, but not that much.  For now I will continue on with a wide variety of subjects, some involving Kstew and some not.  But just for the sake of getting more readers, don’t be surprised if throughout my posts from now on, you randomly find phrases like “every pair of converse that Kristen Stewart owns” inserted for no reason.  Just go with it.  : )

Top 10 ‘Twilight’ MTV Moments, From Spunk Ransom to 100 Monkeys

We helped name the fanbase, toured Catherine Hardwicke’s pad and much more, all for the Twilighters!

It’s no secret that MTV was all over the “Twilight” phenomenon back when other news outlets were still figuring out how to spell Stephenie Meyer’s name. Now, the world has been let in on our little secret — but with today’s news that Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner will be attending the Video Music Awards to unveil a never-before-seen trailer for “New Moon,” the mix of pop-culture powerhouses continues to be as tasty as peanut butter and chocolate, coffee and cream or Bella and Edward.

Sure, the “Twilight” stars have made a habit of attending all our MTV awards shows as they became household names and even dominated the MTV Movie Awards a few months back. But in our minds, the most special moments were the times when they came to us to make news, break news and sometimes even make us the news.

Below are our Top 10 “Twilight” MTV moments. Which is your favorite?

Spunk Ransom Is Born:

In one of his first interviews for the “Twilight” franchise, MTV News had nearly an hour alone with the soon-to-be A-lister on the set of the film. Among the many questions we brought him was: “What do you think of your nickname ‘RPattz’?” He responded in his usual charming, rambling manner, insisting that he wanted a new nickname: “Spunk Ransom.” The term has stuck, been officially defined, yielded some very cool “Twilight” merch and is reportedly the easiest way to get a smile out of Rob — er, Spunk — if you should ever meet him.

Don’t Count Out Taylor:  

Barely a month after “Twilight” opened at the top of the box office, young Taylor Lautner had become the J.D. Salinger of the series — disappearing from the spotlight and leaving many to wonder whether we’d see him again. Just when the consensus among fans seemed to be that his role would be recast with a more physically impressive actor like Michael Copon, we found Taylor at a tiny red-carpet event. Noticeably larger, he revealed that he’d been working out around-the-clock, was about to meet with “New Moon” director Chris Weitz and vowed to return as Jacob. Finally, “Twilight” Nation could breath a sigh of relief.

 

Kristen’s Near-Death Experience:

We all know that Kristen Stewart is a great dramatic actress, but when she said that filming the next film “killed me,” that took it to a whole new level. As KStew’s quotes rocketed around the Web, Twilighters became even more eager to see her “New Moon” performance.

 

 

   

Fach’s Bikini Incident:

Peter Facinelli. A one-of-a-kind Twitter bet. A grown man in a bikini dancing down Hollywood Boulevard. Need we say more?

 

Catherine’s Pimp Pad:

Who else but MTV could get exclusive access to Catherine Hardwicke’s house/office, the place where the “Twilight” movie phenomenon began? The affable director generously opened her home and gave us a tour of the backyard where Lautner auditioned, the dining room where KStew read her lines — and the bed where she and RPattz first kissed.

 

The RPattz Surprise:
In May 2008, we held a contest and landed “Twilight” fan Laura Culpepper as our guest correspondent. But what she didn’t know is that we had arranged for Rob himself to tiptoe in behind Laura while she recorded an on-camera segment and give her a sneak peek at “Twilight.” Without a doubt, this is one of the most memorable pieces of video in all the “Twilight” fandom, revealing Rob’s fun side.

 Name Those Fans:
Once upon a time, an epic battle raged between Twilighters and Twi-Hards over which was the proper name for the fanbase. Since we’re peacemakers as well as journalists, we held an epic poll to settle the matter once and for all. Rob, Kristen and the other stars of the series announced the results — and it’s been Twilighters ever since.

 

A Special Spoilers Evening:
To celebrate the conclusion of all those very special Twilight Tuesdays, MTV gave a few hundred Twilighters the chance to attend a taping of our movie special “Spoilers.” All the stars were there, it was a night to remember, and the show continues on as the renamed “Behind the Screen,” which airs Friday and focuses on films such as “Jennifer’s Body.”

 

RPattz Needs Undies:
Last November, we reunited Rob and Laura for a revealing interview that may have been, well, a bit too revealing. Ever wonder about Rob’s toenails, his parking-ticket troubles or his underwear? Well, then, you need to watch this.

 

100 Monkeys Hit MTV
As his fans know, the only thing more fun than watching Jackson Rathbone act may be seeing him in concert. Which is why we were eager to go backstage and onstage to watch his band 100 Monkeys perform at a club in Hollywood. Since then, we’ve caught the band again at TwiCon and spoke to him recently about the Monkeys’ plans to score his new movie. Rock on, Jackson!

I am probably Andy Samberg’s biggest fan. Literally. I went through the whole of this Spring and Summer communicating only through directly quoting The Lonely Island/2:30am lyrics and SNL/MTVMA skits. And where did it get me? It got me hanging out with just 2 other people for 6 months who were also fully obsessed and thought I was as hilarious as they were – my girlfriends Lara and Debra, (names have been changed to protect said people’s identities.) To some, we may have seemed like losers. But between us, we were all quietly confident – safe in the knowledge that we were a chosen few who truly appreciated the genius and wisdom of the great Sir Samberg.

The only thing in my life that eclipses my Love for all that is Samberg is Fashion. Sorry Andy, but it’s true. (Although – i’m sure he’s not that upset, because he TOTALLY digs hot gear too – he contributed on, like, a whole FEATURE in Elle magazine recently where he styled the Elle staff for different types of dates. I almost died – my two favorite things married together in a ‘fashion from a dude’s perspective 101′ special!)
