<p><strong><a href="http://mplbelgique.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/carte-mo-religion.jpg"><img class="alignleft size-medium wp-image-7151" title="Carte - Moyen Orient - Religions" src="http://mplbelgique.wordpress.com/files/2009/11/carte-mo-religion.jpg?w=286" alt="" width="286" height="300" /></a>Cécile Hennion, correspondante du quotidien Le Monde, nous fait part d’une affaire non médiatisée au Liban, celle de la condamnation à mort d&#8217;un ressortissant libanais <a href="http://www.lemonde.fr/proche-orient/article/2009/11/19/condamne-a-mort-en-arabie-saoudite-pour-avoir-dit-la-bonne-aventure-au-liban_1269293_3218.html"></a>originaire du Akkar, en Arabie Saoudite. Son tord, celui d’avoir présenté une émission de télévision au Liban, émission de voyance, genre Madame Soleil. Son autre tord, selon l’article, citant le propre frère de la victime, </strong></p>
<blockquote><p><strong>“C’est parce qu’il s’appelle Ali, pense son frère Mehdi. Il est chiite avec un nom chiite et il avait un visa iranien sur son passeport.”</strong></p></blockquote>
<p>Ali Hussein Sbat est donc condamné à la peine capitale, divisant également les autorités libanaises:</p>
<blockquote><p>“Cette étrange affaire embarrasse les autorités libanaises, elles-mêmes divisées entre sunnites et chiites, alors que l’Arabie saoudite est un “parrain” très influents au Liban.”</p></blockquote>
<p>Nous touchons ainsi le fond de l’Histoire, celui des antagonismes historiques entre sunnites et chiites, des chocs de civilisations entres musulmans et chrétiens.</p>
<p>Une autre information, cette fois-ci des confidences du Magazine, nous fait part d’une autre nouvelle inquiétante, celle de la cause des dernières attaques contre les chrétiens du Liban par le mufti du Mont Liban, le fameux Jouzou. Ce dernier, doit-on encore le rappeler, appelait justement à égorger les chrétiens, considérés comme infidèles durant<!--more--> la guerre civile. Il recevrait, selon le Magazine, des fonds de Pays du Golfe pour financer des groupuscules islamistes et notamment dans le Akkar, décidément région maudite pour les non-sunnites. L’objectif de ces groupuscules seraient de sauver les prérogatives du premier ministre -sunnite au Liban également-, estimant que le retour du Général Aoun, en 2005, son accord avec le Hezbollah en 2006 et aujourd’hui les amendements proposés pour le renforcement des prérogatives de la Présidence de la République nuisent aux sunnites libanais. On comprendra alors mieux ses dernières paroles, refusant que “les sunnites puissent être dirigés par un Président Maronite”, ou appelant encore les maronites à l’exil en Syrie, mettant dans l’embarras également les Saad Hariri et les autres Fouad Saniora.</p>
<p>Mais la question n’est pas là, il s’agit du rôle que jouent ces pétro-monarchies, pour ne pas nommer l’Arabie Saoudite dans la déstabilisation du Liban. Des ressortissants saoudiens du groupe terroriste du Fatah al Islam, souvenons-nous, ont été rapatriés à la demande de Riad et cela continue encore aujourd&#8217;hui. Le Fatah al Islam est accusé des meurtres de Pierre Gemayel, Eido, du caporal Eid, du général Francois el Hajj et qui sait de combien d’autres victimes?</p>
<p>Il faut rappeler ici qu’un des anciens ministres de l’intérieur saoudien avant les attentats du 11 septembre 2001, était un proche d’Al Qaida. Le fils de son prédécesseur lui, a été visé par un suppositoire explosif. Il faut rappeler que Ben Laden lui-même avait dit s’être inspiré de Beyrouth en feu lors de l’invasion israélienne de 1982 pour le World Trade Center. Il faut rappeler que les islamistes au Liban ont tenté une première fois d’établir un émirat islamique au Nord Liban en 1984. Il faut ensuite se souvenir que certains dirigeants libanais soutenaient ouvertement l’arrivée d’une coalition hétérogène en Syrie après l’attentat visant Rafic Hariri, coalition composée de Khaddam, ancien vice-roi du Liban sous Hafez el Assad et bourreau de Hama et Frères Musulmans, eux également à Hama mais de l’autre coté.</p>
<p>Aucune nouvelle des islamistes de Nahr Bared, du moins officiellement, les autorités judiciaires libanaises semblent les avoir oubliés, comme elles oublient d’ailleurs le cas d’Ali Hussein Sbat, alors que certains se targuent d’être dans les bons papiers du roi Abdallah d’Arabie Saoudite.</p>
<p><a href="http://www.lefigaro.fr/international/2006/04/17/01003-20060417ARTFIG90169-au_koweit_les_chiites_relevent_la_tete.php"></a>Koweït, Yémen, où rebelles Houtis se font bombarder par l&#8217;Arabie Saoudite, guerre par procuration comme le qualifie le Colonel Français Jean Louis Dufour, interpellation de chiites à Bahrein en 2007, voir en Arabie Saoudite même, certains analystes estiment qu’il s’agit avant tout d&#8217;une confirmation entre croissant chiite et sunnite, l’Égypte ou Moubarak parle d’une 5ème colonne chiite, les régimes traditionnels arabes, eux soutenus par les USA et pas vraiment démocratiques se sentent menacés par des minorités chiites, accusées alors d’être soutenues par l’Iran.</p>
<p>Une carte de la répartition des religions au Moyen-Orient ne peut que nous convaincre que la plupart des conflits actuels dans la région est avant tout d’origine religieuse comme au Yémen, en Irak, voir dans les zones pétrolifères saoudiennes et les pays du Golfe, et le Liban est mal placé en cela, puisqu’il s’agit d’un pays de minorités dans un environnement globalement sunnite.</p>
<p>Peut être que certaines monarchies, face à des minorités religieuses dans leur propre pays, veulent exporter “la menace chiite” vers le Liban sous des couverts électoraux, comme le dénonçait Walid Joumblatt après les élections législatives de 2009, qualifiées de sectaires et voulant aujourd’hui ouvertement éviter un conflit “inter-musulman” sans toutefois en dire plus. Et cela, Ali Hussein Sbat en paye peut-être le prix.</p>

<p>A Grand Mufti, a Rabbi, an Archbishop, a Daoist Master, and a Shinto priest went into a bar . . . This may read like the start to a bad joke, but it happened last week in Windsor, England (though let’s be clear that the bar was serving only hot drinks and chocolate cookies). It was all part of the “<a href="http://www.windsor2009.org/">Many Heavens, One Planet</a>” Celebration organized by <a href="http://www.arcworld.org/">ARC</a> and <a href="http://www.undp.org/">UNDP</a>, at which all the major faith traditions launched “Long Term Commitment Plans for Protecting the Living Planet.” They were honored at a special ceremony in Windsor Castle, hosted and attended by both HRH <a href="http://www.royal.gov.uk/ThecurrentRoyalFamily/TheDukeofEdinburgh/TheDukeofEdinburgh.aspx">The Duke of Edinburgh</a> and United Nations Secretary-General HE <strong><a href="http://www.un.org/sg/biography.shtml"><span style="font-weight:normal;">Ban Ki-moon</span></a>, </strong><strong>writes the World Bank&#8217;s Tony Whitten in his guest blog.</strong></p>
<p>&#8220;That such august people would give time to this is because they understand that the <strong>faiths represent the oldest, most enduring, and largest institutions on the planet and that each – with their hundreds of millions of adherents – can mobilize significant action</strong>&#8230;The fact that <strong>environmentalists and faith adherents are increasingly discovering the commonalities in their concerns brings into play a vast array of potential and partnerships</strong>. <p>KOTA BHARU, 9 Nov — Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin  tidak menolak kemungkinan keterlibatannya di pentas politik sekiranya  ruang itu boleh menjadi <em>platform</em> untuknya bercakap.</p>
<p>Perkara itu disahkan oleh beliau sendiri selepas membuat kunjungan hormat kepada Menteri Besar Kelantan, Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat, di pejabatnya di sini, tengahari tadi.</p>
<p>“Jika semua pintu untuk saya bercakap dihalang, melainkan pentas politik, saya terpaksa fikirkan perkara itu,” jelasnya sebelum ini tidak pernah berfikir, malah menganggap tiada sebarang keperluan untuknya menyertai politik.<br />
Beliau menegaskan, konsep asal asas perjuangannya adalah dakwah bagi menyampai serta mengembangkan ajaran dan pemikiran Islam secara terbuka dan menyeluruh.</p>
<p>Baginya jika mana-mana kerajaan negeri membuka ruang kepada kelompok pemikir secara tenteram pastinya ia akan dihormati oleh rakyat.</p>
<p>Asri melakukan kunjungan hormat kepada Nik Aziz, antara lain adalah untuk menziarahinya selepas tidak berkesempatan mengunjunginya sewaktu menjalani rawatan kesihatan di Institut Jantung Negara (IJN), baru-baru ini.</p>
<p>Beliau adalah bekas Mufti Kerajaan Negeri Perlis, baru-baru ini ditangkap oleh Jabatan Agama Islam selangor (JAIS) di Hulu Klang kerana dikatakan memberi kuliah tanpa tauliah selain didakwa mengamalkan fahaman Wahabi kepada pengikutnya.<br />
Berikutan peristiwa itu beliau mendakwa wujud konspirasi bertujuan menjatuhkan maruah dan imejnya apatah cara penangkapannya seolah-olah menyamai operasi untuk menangkap Nordin Mat Top.</p>
<p>Sementara itu semasa menjawab keterbukaannya untuk menyertai PAS, dan respon Nik Aziz terhadap peristiwa yang mencetuskan kontroversi itu beliau mengucapkan terima kasih kepada Menteri Besar itu di atas sokongan serta nasihatnya yang penuh berhikmah.</p>
<p>“Kelantan memang sejak dahulu panggil saya, dan tuan guru berhubungan baik dengan saya. Malah sekejap tadi tok guru sebut zaman menuduh orang Wahabi telah dilaluinya, dia kena benda yang sama, dia harap sabar dan menulis bersunggu-sungguh supaya menulis pemikiran tajdid ini,” katanya sambil mengucapkan terima kasih kepada semua pihak (Pakatan Rakyat) yang dilihatnya setakat  ini cuba beri ruang kepadanya.</p>

<title><![CDATA[Berkenaan Tangkapan Dr Mohd Asri (Bekas Mufti Perlis)]]></title>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Bekas Mufti Perlis tidak dinafikan mempunyai ramai penyokong dan juga pembenci. Itu sudah tabiat manusia yang amat pelbagai. Kita tidak akan mampu untuk mengelakkan diri dari berbeza pendapat, saya juga banyak berbeza pendapat dengan beliau. Kita juga adakalanya tidak mampu untuk mengelak diri dari dibenci secara tiba-tiba, apatah lagi jika seseorang itu terkenal.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Namun, yang dibimbangi adalah perbezaan pendapat yang membawa kepada permusuhan yang dahsyat, label melabel, tuduh menuduh, dan sesat menyesatkan. Sehingga jika diselami hati para pembenci, pasti ada terlihat keinginan yang amat luar biasa malah keji seperti ingin melihat pihak yang lain ditangkap, dipenjara atau lebih dari itu, meninggal dunia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Padahal isu yang berbangkit kebanyakannya adalah isu yang bersifat zhonni atau yang menerima perbezaan takwilan dan pandangan. Tidak wajar dipergaduhkan dalam bentuk yang ekstrem dan keras. Memadailah untuk mengemukakan hujjah balas kepada apa yang dirasakan lemah, dan kemudian jika pihak di sebelah sana tidak dapat menerimanya, berlapang dadalah.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Selain itu, janganlah dengan mudah menggelarkan seseorang dengan gelaran Wahabi serta terkeluar dari kelompok ahli Sunnah wal Jamaah. Adalah tidak tepat untuk menuduh pandangan ijtihad selain mazhab Syafie adalah Wahhabi, kerana kebanyakkan pendapat yang lain yang diterima pakai oleh sebahagian kelompok di Malaysia (yang berlainan) sebenarnya bukanlah ijtihad Wahabi tetapi adalah dari kalangan mazhab-mazhab ahli sunnah yang lain seperti Hanbali, Maliki dan Hanafi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Sebagai contoh:</p>
<ul>
<li>tidak melakukan qunut Subuh adalah ijtihad mazhab Hanbali dan Hanafi,</li>
<li>menggoyangkan jari ketika Tashahhud solat adalah pandangan Maliki,</li>
<li>membolehkan memgang anjing tanpa samak adalah ijtihad Maliki,</li>
</ul>
<p style="text-align:justify;">tidak membaca basmalah dengan kuat di awal fatihah ketika solat Maghrib, Subuh dan Isyak adalah ijtihad Hanbali dan Maliki dan banyak lagi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Isu-isu sebegini kerap disalah ertikan sehingga disenaraikan sebagai ciri pengikut Wahabi. Ini tidak benar sama sekali, malah Wahabi itu bukan sebuah mazhab Fiqh atau Aqidah serta tidak mempunyai takrifan yang khas di kalangan para ilmuan Islam sedunia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Malah menurut sebahagian pandangan ulama antarabangsa, istilah itu dipelopori oleh musuh-musuh Islam dari kalangan bukan Islam, untuk memecah belahkan kesatuan umat Islam. Memang benar, terdapat ulama moden yang menggunakan istilah tersebut di dalam penulisan mereka, namun ia merujuk kepada pengikut aliran Muhammad Ab Wahab di Saudi suatu ketika dahulu, ia bukan sebuah mazhab yang khas.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Di sebelah pihak yang lain pula, jangan pula terlalu ringan lidah menggelar sesuatu amalan itu sebagai bid&#8217;ah, sesat, ahli bid&#8217;ah dan lain-lain gelaran yang menyakitkan telinga. Gunakan hikmah dalam nasihat, hujjah dan panduan, bukan hukuman dan kejian. Perlu disedari bahawa  hujjah <strong>YANG DIYAKINI KITA SEBAGAI KUKUH</strong> tidak semestinya dinilai kukuh dan tepat oleh ilmuan lain berdasarkan dalil dan kaedah yang juga betul serta diterima dalam displin ilmu Fiqh atau Aqidah Islam.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Imam Muhammad Ibn Sirin berkata :</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8221; Sesiapa yang tidak tidak mengkaji kepelbagaian pendapat fiqh, mereka sebenarnya belum pun dapat mencium bau Fiqh itu&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bau Fiqh pun belum dapat, apatah lagi inti Fiqh itu sendiri. Banyak menuduh dan meggelar mungkin akan boleh memberikan indikasi bahawa mereka yang terlibat sebenarnya belum menghidu bau Fiqh. Belum masak dan matang dalam ilmu Fiqh.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>BERLAPANG DADA, IKTIRAF USAHA &#38; PANDANGAN</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Imam Al-Awza&#8217;ie ketika ditanya berkenaan sama ada batal wudhu atau tidak bagi lelaki yang mencium isterinya menjawab :</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya : Jika seseorang bertanya kepadaku, aku akan menjawab, batal dan perlu mengambil wudhu semula, namun sekiranya dia tidak mengambil wudhu, aku tidak akan mengutuknya ( Tartib At-Tamhid, 3/345 )</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Imam Ahmad Bin Hanbal pula pernah ditanya sama ada sah solat yang menggunakan kulit musang. Jawabnya :</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya : &#8220;JIka perbuatannya itu adalah hasil pemahamannya dari nas (Apa-apa yang disamak maka telah menjadi suci ), lalu bolehlah solat di belakangnya&#8221;[1]</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Maka ditanya : Adakah engkau juga melihatnya sebagai harus?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Imam Ahmad menjawab</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>لا , نحن لا نراه جائزا ولكن إذا كان هو يتأول فلا بأس أن يصلي خلفه</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya: Tidak, kami tidak melihatnya harus, tetapi dia ingin menafsirkannya (menggunakan) nas itu, tiada masalah untuk solat di belakangnya.[2]</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Al-Qaradawi menegaskan bahawa kewujudan dua pendapat betul dalam satu masalah, sememangnya boleh berlaku. Beliau mengatakan, mungkin satu pihak mengambil rukhsah, yang lain mengambil ‘azimah. Atau kedua-dua benar dalam situasi tertentu yang berbeza, atau kedua-duanya benar sebagaimana wujudnya qiraat bacaan AL-QURAN.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Banyak lagi kisah-kisah sebegini yang amat baik untuk difahami dan dihayati. Malah perlu difahami juga, hal ini juga boleh berlaku didalam perihal aqidah. Syeikh Dr Yusuf Al-Qaradawi menjelaskan dengan terang dan nyata bahawa ilmu aqidah itu terbahagi kepada [3] iaitu:</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">a)    <strong>Usul Aqidah</strong> : iaitu ilmu bersumber ayat Al-Quran yang tidak terdedah kepada sebarang tafsiran dan takwilan menurut ilmu Usul Fiqh seperti kewujudan Allah, keesaanNya, sifat kesempurnaanNya dan banyak lagi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">b)    <strong>Furu&#8217; Aqidah</strong> : Ilmu aqidah yang bersumber ayat Quran dan Hadis sohih tetapi terdedah kepada tafsiran dan takwilan yang sesuai menurut kaedah-kaedah ilmu Usul Fiqh. Seperti Syafaat di akhirat, Melihat Allah di syurga, mentakwil ayat sifat Allah, Imam Mahdi, penurunan Nabi Isa a.s dan banyak lagi.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Justeru, bagi memahami pembahagian ini, perlu difahami sebaiknya ilmu dalalatul ahkam di dalam pengajian ilmu Usul Fiqh.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Saya membawakan hal ini sekadar ingin memaklumkan kepada pembaca bahawa hal ini jika tidak dihayati dan difahami dengan sebaiknya, akan mula muncul perasaan ingin menghina dan bermusuh dengan mereka yang berbeza pendapat dengan kita.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Namun ingat, segala perbezaan ini mestilah datang dari mereka yang berkeahlian.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Yang paling perlu dielakkan adalah, seorang alim melayan debat dengan seorang jahil.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ia sangat membuang waktu dan menyakitkan kepala sahaja. Kerana si jahil tidak akan mampu memahami laras bahasa dan istilah yang digunapakai oleh si alim. Justeru, tindakan terbaik bagi si alim adalah diam.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Kesimpulannya, dibenarkan untuk menolak hujjah pihak yang lain, namun dalam pada kritikan ilmiah dibuat, jangan lupa juga mengiktiraf bahawa pihak yang lain juga ada niat baik untuk kebaikan Islam. Masing-masing merasakan pendekatan dan ilmu mereka adalah yang lebih tepat untuk membawa kepada keagungan Islam.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Namun jangan terlupa, ruang kesilapan masih boleh wujud di pihak kita. Saya sendiri sering mengingatkan diri saya ketika mengulas isu-isu kewangan dan riba, bahawa saya mungkin boleh berada di pihak yang kurang kuat dan tidak kukuh hujjahnya,</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Justeru itu kerap saya katakan kpeada mereka yang sibuk dan marah-marah dengan pandangan saya,</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8220;Pandangan dan tulisan saya tidak wajib ke atas sesiapa untuk mengambilnya, anda bebas untuk terima atau menolaknya&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Cuma harapan saya, jika menolaknya, tolaknya disebabkan kerana hujjah yang lebih meyakinkan dari mereka yang berkelayakan bukan kerana kita terlibat dalam bisnes itu nescaya mesti nak jadikan ia halal, atau dalam kata lainnya, kerana nafsu sendiri.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>TANGKAPAN JAIS: SIAPA UNTUNG?</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Memang benar JAIS punyai hak mendakwa sesiapa sahaja yang berceramah tanpa tauliah, itulah yang diarahkan oleh Sultan Selangor selaku Ketua Agama di Negeri Selangor.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Namun demikian, saya kira untuk menangkap seorang bekas Mufti sebuah negeri yang telah diiktiraf keilmuannya oleh UIAM sehingga diberi PhD dalam bidang agama, juga oleh Raja Perlis sehingga dilantik menjadi Mufti negeri dan diberi anugerah Tokoh Ma&#8217;al Hijrah Negeri. Tindakan itu boleh dikatakan kurang bijak dan secara tidak langsung memperkecilkan penilaian Raja Perlis, Universiti Sains Malaysia (USM) dan banyak pihak lain yang berautoriti.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bagi saya isu ini lahir hasil ‘sakit hati&#8217; yang datang dari pertembungan kedua-dua belah pihak, penyokong dan penentang Dr Asri di Malaysia.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Dr Asri di sebelah pihak yang dikatakan ingin membawa pembaharuan dalam pemikiran agama di Malaysia, manakala sebelah pihak lain adalah mereka yang meyakini sudah cukup dengan cara dan pemikiran agama yang sedia ada, nescaya pertembungan berlaku.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Bermula dari sedikit, ia menjadi semakin besar apabila anak-anak murid fanatik menyemarakkan api pertengkaran serta kutuk mengutuk. Tidak terkecuali kedua-dua pihak mempunyai tekong ‘bergaduh&#8217; yang hebat, aktif serta dinamik dalam tugas kurang sihat ini.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Saya yakin, penangkapan Dr Asri berpunca dari perkembangan kurang sihat tersebut tadi, ia sangat mudah dibaca dari laman-laman web ‘tekong-tekong gaduh&#8217;, ya amat pasti dan ia seolah-olah satu open secret bagi kedua-dua pihak. Ketiadaan tauliah hanya dijadikan alat dan cara berselindung di sebalik undang-undang yang sedia ada.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Memorandum Persatuan Peguam Syar&#8217;ie Malaysia boleh memberikan pengesahan berkenaan persengketaan dan perbalahan ini.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Namun sebenarnya, siapa yang untung dengan tangkapan ini?</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Memang benar, untung rugi bukan persoalannya di sini, tapi pastinya yang membenci ingin kononnya mematikan dan menggangu gerakan yang dibawa oleh Dr Asri. Dirasakan cara ini adalah terbaik bagi menakutkan kumpulan itu.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Tetapi nampaknya, tangkapan itu menjadi back fire kepada mereka.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ya benar, saya berasa yakin kini pihak yang tidak menyukai Dr Asri akan merasa tertampar dengan liputan media terhadap isu ini.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Sebagai orang luar dan pemerhati saya lihat, tiada banyak keuntungan diperolehi oleh pihak yang membenci Dr Asri, kerana tangkapan ini hanya menaikkan populariti beliau, malah kalau sebelum ini Dr Asri hanya menceritakan secara peribadi dan agak tertutup berkenaan sokongan pelbagai orang berjawatan besar, ternama dan pelbagai parti politik kepadanya, namun dengan berlakunya hal ini, sokongan tersebut menjadi nyata kepada awam.</p>

<p style="text-align:justify;">Serta ramai dan banyak lagi</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Semua ini membuka lebih besar jalan kepada Dr Asri untuk mendapat samada perhatian, sokongan dan dakwahnya juga akan semakin dekat dan sampai ke hati orang ramai yang baru tertarik untuk membaca blognya, mendengar ucapannya dan sebagainya. Semua ini akibat dari isu penangkapan tersebut.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8220;Jadi ustaz, siapa yang rugi dan siapa yang untung ? &#8221; tanya seorang kenalan di UK</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8220;Sudah tentu Dr Asri dan gerakannya, jadi kalau di ketika ini ahli-ahli gerakannya perlu tampil kehadapan dengan lebih aktif untuk menerang dan menjelas, mereka akan mendapat merit yang banyak, Malah ORANG YANG TAK SOKONG pun boleh jadi sokong kerana mula berasa SIMPATI&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8220;Namun demikian, mesti disedari, populariti juga boleh ‘membunuh&#8217; seseorang ahli agama, rasa ujub, riya dan takbur amat mudah berkembang. Justeru itu dia kena jaga. Kelak nanti setiap lafaz boleh berubah menjadi sombong. Teguran pula akan sentiasa dibakul sampahkan kerana merasa diri sangat popular dan berpengaruh. DAN ORANG YANG SOKONG pun boleh jadi TIDAK sokong kerana mula berasa MELUAT&#8221; Tegas saya lagi menjelaskan.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Demikian pendapat saya sebagai pemerhati dari luar, ya luar negara.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;"><strong>SUDAH-SUDAHLAH BERBALAH : BERDAMAILAH</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Satu lagi, saya amat ingin melihat kedua-dua pihak menambahkan sikap lunak dan lebih bijak. Benar, bijak itu banyak caranya, keras dan garang juga mungkin sahaja tergolong dalam tindakan yang paling bijak dalam keadaan tertentu. Cuma lunak dan lembut adalah lebih digemari oleh Nabi s.a.w berbanding keras dan kasar.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Jangan pula mengatakan:</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8220;Ala dia yang mula mengutuk dan mengecam, kita balaslah, geng dia saman dulu, kita bagilah dia tindakan undang-undang sebagai balasan&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ini satu sikap yang tergambar hati yang busuk serta tidak matang. Jangan sampai orang melakukan cara ahli neraka, maka sebagai balasan, kita juga ingin menjadi sepertinya.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Selain itu, saya berkongsi bahawa ulama silam yang hebat kerap meninggalkan kontroversi dan konfrontasi dengan pegangan ahli agama setempat.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Jika ingin membawa perbezaan pendapat sekalipun, sewajarya dilaksana secara berperingkat tanpa menyakitkan sesiapa dengan kata-kata yang mudah disilaptafsirkan, khususnya bagi mereka yang sudah benci.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ali Abi Talib diriwayatkan berkata :</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>أقضوا ما كنتم تقضون فإني أكره الإختلاف حتى يكون للناس جماعة</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">&#8221; Putuskanlah hukuman mengikut apa yang telah kamu biasa putuskan, sesungguhnya kau tidak gemar kepada perbezaan agar orang ramai boleh tersu berada di dalam satu jemaah (Tarikh Baghdad, 8/42)</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ahmad Bin Hanbal berkata :</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>لا بنبغي للفقيه أن يحمل الناس على مذهبه ولا يشدد عليهم</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya : Tidak sewajarnya seorang ahli Fiqh, mendorong orang ramai kepada pegangannya dan berkeras atau memaksakannya (menerima pandangannya) ke atas orang ramai</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Benar, perbalahan sesama kita hanya menyebabkan kita letih di pertengahan jalan, kerja gagal dijalankan, imej Islam pula yang menjadi semakin buruk. Kerana itulah ulama haraki seperti Imam Hasan Al-Banna menyarankan agar kita maju ke depan dengan tugas dan usaha masing-masing, lalu satu kaedah yang amat baik dari Syeikh Rashid Redha dicadangkan :</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>نتعاون فيما اتفقنا عليه ويعذر بعضنا بعضا فيما نختلف فيه</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya : &#8220;Kita bekerjasama dalam perkara yang telah kita sepakati, dan saling menguzurkan diri dari perkara yang diperbezakan&#8221;</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Akhir sekali, HENTIKANLAH berbalah, kutuk mengutuk, fitnah memfitnah dan tangkap menangkap disebabkan oleh perbezaan pendapat dalam hal agama oleh mereka yang berkelayakan. Ia mencemar imej Islam dan menjatuhkan keyakinan mad&#8217;u kita yang sebenar kepada Islam.</p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Firman Allah :-</p>
<p style="text-align:center;"><strong>وَأَطِيعُواْ اللّهَ وَرَسُولَهُ وَلاَ تَنَازَعُواْ فَتَفْشَلُواْ وَتَذْهَبَ رِيحُكُمْ وَاصْبِرُواْ إِنَّ اللّهَ مَعَ الصَّابِرِينَ</strong></p>
<p style="text-align:justify;">Ertinya : Dan taatlah kepada Allah dan Rasul-Nya dan janganlah kamu berbantah-bantahan, yang menyebabkan kamu menjadi gentar dan hilang kekuatanmu dan bersabarlah. Sesungguhnya Allah beserta orang-orang yang sabar. ( Al-Anfaal : 26 )</p>

Il rappelle que, « depuis 1990 et jusqu&#8217;au retrait syrien en 2005, le rôle chrétien était marginalisé », soulignant que « c&#8217;est la première fois, depuis la promulgation de l&#8217;accord de Taëf, que la communauté chrétienne a une vraie chance de participer au gouvernement ». A ce niveau, il insiste que le général Michel Aoun, député chef du groupe parlementaire « Changement et Réformes », qui représente la majorité chrétienne, s&#8217;active énergiquement pour que sa communauté remporte d&#8217;importants bénéfices. « Sa bonne volonté se heurte souvent et malheureusement aux monopoles exercés par l&#8217;autre groupe », dénonce-t-il.</p>
<p>Dans une interview accordée à « Elnashra.com », Nasrallah révèle que le Premier ministre désigné Saad Hariri ne s&#8217;est jamais montré récalcitrant à l&#8217;encontre de certains ministrables, dans ses concertations avec le général Aoun. « Ils doivent être convaincus de l&#8217;importance d&#8217;appliquer la <!--more-->rotation au niveau de tous les portefeuilles sans exception », déclare-t-il, s&#8217;insurgeant contre les tentatives de la majorité visant à se voir octroyer les ministères des Télécommunications et de l&#8217;Energie, afin de les privatiser pour des fins personnelles.</p>
<p>D&#8217;autre part, répondant aux dernières déclarations du mufti Mohammad Ali Al-Jouzo, il dit : « Al-Jouzo n&#8217;est qu&#8217;un simple délateur s&#8217;activant au profit des Renseignements syriens », ajoutant : « La communauté sunnite doit évaluer ses propos et prendre les mesures nécessaires à ce niveau, parce que ses déclarations font du tort au Mufti de la République et au Premier ministre désigné Saad Hariri ».</p>

<p>Dans une interview à la télévision OTV, Nicolas rappelle à Jouzo que les maronites se trouvent en Orient bien avant lui, et il considère que la diatribe de ce dernier est une incitation à la discrimination raciale et communautaire.</p>
<p>Nicolas dévoile que le Courant Patriotique Libre prépare le dossier d&#8217;une action judicaire contre Jouzo.<br />
Au niveau de la formation du gouvernement, le député Nicolas rapporte que les contacts <!--more-->entre le premier ministre désigné, Saad Hariri et le chef du bloc du Changement et de la Réforme ne sont pas interrompues.</p>
<p>D&#8217;autre part, sur les antennes de Télé Liban, Nicolas refuse de dévoiler le contexte des pourparlers entre Hariri et Aoun, tout en soulignant que tant que les deux hommes n&#8217;ont pas annoncé l&#8217;échec des négociations, il faut attendre leurs déclarations.</p>
<p>Nicolas estime que le principal obstacle à la formation d&#8217;un gouvernement consiste dans les prises de position de certaines personnes de l&#8217;entourage de Hariri qui attendent les directives de l&#8217;ambassade américaine. Comme il espère que le processus de la formation du gouvernement arrive à termes dans les prochaines 48 heures.</p>

<p>« Il y a des politiciens qui tournent de la droite à la gauche et vice versa et leur slogan change comme la bourse. Un jour vous le verrez comme un arabe du Golfe, l’autre jour comme un perse iranien et le 3<sup>ème</sup> jour, il deviendra américain ou russe. Vous le verrez un jour comme un ennemi de la Syrie et après comme le meilleur ami de la Syrie. Il n’y a pas de principes, pas de morales », a déclaré le dignitaire sunnite.</p>
<p>Le communiqué critique également le cas du Grand Liban, s’interrogeant sur l’identité véritable du Pays des Cèdres et des vols au sein de l’administration ou de la haine entre communautés religieuses, avant d’appeler la population à émigrer et à offrir le Liban aux Syriens.</p>
<p>« Les maronites ne viennent-ils pas de la Syrie, alors pourquoi n’y retournent-ils pas et avec eux tout le Liban et non pas seulement ceux à qui la Syrie a manquée ? », conclut-il .</p>

<p>Kini tersebar berita yang mendakwa bahawa Mufti Perlis, Dr Juanda Jaya akan bercuti panjang mulai Khamis ini.</p>
<p>Berita tersebut semakin luas tersebar di negeri itu sejak kelmarin dan menimbul tandatanya di kalangan banyak pihak mengenai sebab beliau bercuti panjang.</p>

<p>Sumber-sumber itu bagaimanapun enggan mengulas lanjut apabila ditanya mengenai sebab-sebab Dr Juanda bercuti.</p>
<p>&#8220;Apa yang dapat saya katakan ialah Dr Juanda akan cuti lama,&#8221; katanya yang enggan mengulas lanjut.</p>
<p>Sementara itu beberapa rakan Dr Juanda, ketika ditanya mengenai perkara itu berkata, mereka difahamkan bahawa mufti Perlis itu bercuti untuk &#8220;menjalankan penyelidikan akademik&#8221; di sebuah universiti terkemuka di luar negara.</p>
<p>Seorang daripadanya berkata, mereka difahamkan Dr Juanda akan mula bercuti awal bulan depan.</p>
<p>Ketika dihubungi Malaysiakini, Dr Juanda berkata beliau sedang menghadiri mesyuarat dan minta menghubunginya semula.</p>
<p>Dr Juanda, 37, dilantik sebagai mufti Parlis pada 3 Februari lalu, menggantikan Dr Mohd Asri Zainul Abidin.</p>
<p>Sebelum itu, Dr Juanda merupakan timbalan mufti negeri Sarawak.</p>

<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Nine years ago, today, the Israeli opposition leader Ariel Sharon forced his way in to the Haram el- Sharif (the Temple Mount), accompanied by Israeli soldiers. This was the start of the very violent Second Intifada.</p>
<p>Today, this year, a large group of Jewish fanatics accompanied, and protected by Israeli soldiers also tried to enter Haram el- Sharif.</p>
<p>We where a quite big group who where to visit the Dome of the Rock in the early morning today. When we arrived at the gate, we found that it was closed. A big group of Palestinians gathered outside of it (<em>photo above</em>), and on the square there was also heavily armed Israeli policemen. They where armed with grenades and shields (mostly used to control riots or demonstrations, I believe), and was not allowing anyone to enter the square from the outside.</p>
<p>What was happening then is not easy to know: Different media are giving about 10 different stories. Google it.</p>
<p>What we heard, and where told as we were advised to leave the entrance to Haram el-Sharif, was that there had been a rumor for quite a while, that settlers where planning to enter the site on this particular day. Someone also spoke about settlers who had tried to enter earlier that day.</p>
<p>As we left the site, ambulances lined up, obviously preparing for something to happen, and for someone to be wounded. Also many Palestinians walked towards the gate to the Mosques.</p>
<p>When my group gathered again, a bit further from Haram el-Sharif, there where many Palestinians running around the quarters. Someone tried to find a way home to their houses, as a the whole neighborhood where closed off,  others where running towards the entrance to the site.</p>
<p>Later, as we toured the Old City, we saw Orthodox Jews, and Palestinians, having some verbal disputes in the presence of the police.</p>
<p>I think it was pretty tense today.</p>
<p>I believe, after being in the Old City of Jerusalem today, that it is highly unlikely that the riots started because of some group of French tourists being improperly dressed. I actually believe that settlers tried to enter Haram el- Sharif. Because it was so obvious that the emergency force, both policemen, and medical personnel, expected something to happen, and that it is an undisputed fact that there was a rumor going, that someone was to enter that specific day.</p>
<p>If this is correct it is very disturbing. In my opinion, it is an horrifying and highly provocative act, from the Israeli military; accompanying settlers to Haram el- Sharif. Last time they accompanied anyone there on the first day of Yom Kippur, the Second Intifada started, and the already halted peace process stranded.</p>
<p>Clearly Israel doesn&#8217;t have any interest in making peace with the Palestinians, and will do their best to avoid international pressure on Obamas planned peace talks.</p>
<p>As long as Israel can, it will, continue the occupation, and the segregation.</p>
<p>Concerning the photo, this is coincidentally, Mufti Ikrima Sabri, former Mufti of Al- Aqsa Mosque, now Mufti of Jerusalem and the Palestinian territories, on the phone in front of the group of palestinians gathered at the gate. I did not now that this person was a mufti when i took this photo, I barely knew what a mufti was. A l’issue de sa visite auprès du Mufti de la République Mohammad Rachid Kabbani, Baroud a affirmé qu’un tel retard peut arriver partout dans le monde.</p>
<p>Interrogé sur la fuite de deux prisonniers de l’Hôpital Nawfal, Baroud a précisé que l’affaire est suivie tant au niveau de la conduite qu’au niveau judiciaire, estimant que les agents concernés ont été arrêtés. « Si un complot se confirme, tels l’indiquent les premiers indices, des mesures nécessaires seraient entreprises », a soutenu Baroud.</p>

<p>CAIRO: It has become a pants controversy in the Islamic world, after Sudan sentenced a female journalist to six months in prison for wearing trousers. Lubna Ahmed al-Hussein, a journalist, refused to pay a fine for her release in protest, but the country&#8217;s journalist syndicate intervened, much to her anger. Egypt&#8217;s Grand Mufti Ali Gomaa has chimed into the debate, saying that women have the right to wear pants.</p>
<p>He cited a hadith &#8211; saying of the Prophet Mohamed &#8211; that proves the right of women to wear these clothes. He added that &#8220;if this Hadith wasn&#8217;t proven correct, Islamic Sharia laws didn&#8217;t forbid women from wearing pants, as there are outfits worn by Pakistani women where it includes pants.&#8221;</p>
<p>It was not the first time Sudanese women have been under attack for what they wear. In July, at least 13 Sudanese women received public lashes for wearing tight clothes, which sparked widespread outrage among activists in Sudan and abroad.</p>
<p>The Arabic Network for Human Rights Information (ANHRI) in Cairo said that the Sudanese authorities are “continuing further to persecute reporters and oppress all voices defending freedom of expression.”<!--more--></p>
<p>ANHRI has called on the Sudanese government to abolish or change the public discipline law, one of the most oppressive and discriminating laws against women as it violates basic individual freedoms.</p>
<p>Gomaa stressed that allowing women to wear pants does not mean that Muslim women &#8220;should wear tight ones, because tight pants must not be worn by women,&#8221; adding that Islam stands up for women. &#8220;We, as Muslim scholars, apply Islamic laws.&#8221;</p>
<p>In his statements, Gomaa also permitted women to take the position of the Secretariat of institute for issuing Fatwas (Islamic opinions), saying &#8220;I do not say so to appear as if I am open-minded and defending women&#8217;s rights, but because Islam permits this and if a woman reached the level of science that is required by any post, such as issuing opinions, then there is no reason, according to Sharia, that would prohibit women from taking such posts.&#8221;</p>
<p>He noted that throughout Islamic history, society has witnessed about 600 women taking over top positions in various fields.</p>

<p>Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rahman vs. Mufti Popalzai &#8211; Jirga &#8211; Sept 20, 2009</p>
<p>Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rahman, leader of the Ruet-e-Hilal, Pakistan, and Mufti Popalzai, head of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan, Peshawar questioned over Eid controversy.  Where Masjid Qasim Ali Khan is exposed as the main reason for dissension in the history of Eid mis-timing in Pakistan.</p>
<p><!--more--></p>
<p>What has previously passed as dissension between mullahs, is now finally brought to the fore, thanks to the embrace offered by the ANP to the Mufti Popalzai of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan in Peshawar.  Which turns out to be behind the majority of fitnas in Pakistan&#8217;s history of Eid fiascos.</p>
<p>In the same way that the ANP embraced Sufi Muhammed in Swat and thereby exposed him to the public (because he suddenly became legitimate and spoke too much to the media), in the same way the fitna elements of the &#8220;mullah&#8221; are going to be exposed (who in this case is a jaddi-pushti Mufti of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan &#8211; much like the Aziz brothers of Lal Masjid, who are gifted that &#8220;mansab&#8221; not because of &#8220;qabiliat&#8221; but because of their father).</p>
<p>What is interesting is that there is no realistic understanding that if no one sees the moon, and just 40 people in the employ of Masjid Qasim Ali Khan always see it, then these people should have been identified by name and exposed before the public.</p>
<p>However in previous years, the &#8220;mullahs&#8221; may have been keen to protect their &#8220;biradari&#8221; from the &#8220;secular&#8221; forces and thus avoided embarrassing each other.</p>
<p>However, once a &#8220;secular&#8221; force like the ANP &#8220;allies&#8221; itself with the most extreme and &#8220;kund nazar&#8221; of the religious forces, then the mainstream mullah begins to see the real danger and the need to curtail bad and promote the good becomes an immediate need.</p>
<p>This is what seems to have happened.  As Mufti Muneeb-ur-Rahman, the head of the Ruet-e-Hilal, has for the first time come out and identified the culprits who confuse the Eid issue every year.  It turns out to be the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan and the people behind the charade we have been seeing in Pakistan&#8217;s history of Eid mis-timing.</p>
<p>For this particular Eid, Muneeb-ur-Rahman has an especially strong case as the media exists (thanks to Musharraf), and the decision to hold Eid one day early is particularly idiotic, because Peshawar (and FATA) will be even less likely to see the moon if the lower parts of the country cannot see it.  Additionally astronomical calculations indicate that the Moon would have set 2 minutes (or so) after the Sun, so all &#8220;testimonies&#8221; about the sighting of the Moon are probably lies, or misunderstandings.</p>
<p>And the possibility of misunderstandings can be true as well, since in a population of millions you are always going to find a couple who are able to seen the Moon by mistake or &#8220;they thought they saw it&#8221;.</p>
<p>This possibility is pointed out by one of the experts in the program &#8211; perhaps as a way of face-saving for the Masjid Qasim Ali Khan folks.</p>
<p>The second tack is the insistence on following Saudi Arabia (that is, the land of the Saud family).  Which may be entertained, however when Masjid Qasim Ali Khan produces &#8220;witnesses&#8221; then there is an element of &#8220;shararat&#8221; in there.  Or they wind up picking all the people who saw it by mistake.  In any case, there is an absence of deliberation in the behaviour of this Masjid and that sheds a poor light on the administration of that Masjid, as well as this Mufti Popalzai figure (the jaddi-pushti leader of that Mosque).</p>
<p>A further argument going against Popalzai is the one given by some other maulvi, that if the country is willing to observe muslim calendar months according to the Ruet-e-Hilal, then why is Eid day so imposed upon by these elements.</p>

<description><![CDATA[Yellow was the order of the day today as my children&#8217;s school celebrates the birthday of Roald]]></description>
<content:encoded><![CDATA[<div class='snap_preview'><p>Yellow was the order of the day today as my children&#8217;s school celebrates the birthday of Roald Dahl, whose favourite colour was yellow.</p>
<p>Sarah was resplendent in her yellow sunflower hat and a frilly yellow shirt (with black skivvy and black trousers because that is &#8220;so effective&#8221;) and highlighted finger nails with clear polish over the top.</p>
<p>Imagine Lachlan&#8217;s disappointment when he realises he doesn&#8217;t own anything yellow.</p>
<p>Having dished out the pennies for the mufti day yellows ($1), face painting ($1), homemade  lemonade (50c ) and Roald Dahl quiz (10c) , Lachlan solemnly handed me back the $1 coin that would enable him to wear yellow.  He looked so disappointed that I whispered to him that he could put the $1 in his pocket money wallet as it wasn&#8217;t his fault he didn&#8217;t have any yellow clothes. The pure joy on his face as he whispered &#8220;thank you Mum&#8221; with wide-open eyes of delight was absolutely priceless.</p>
<p>Priceless too was the discovery about two minutes before the school bus was due of a yellow Pak-n Save bag. Lachlan pounced on the suggestion of a makeshift top. Even more priceless was the mischievous and delightful look of glee on his face when he realised the front of his new costume were the words &#8220;absolutely unbeatable&#8221;.</p>
<p>I tell you, he walked onto that bus with the best costume ever.</p>
<p>And I returned to the house with a very contented smile.</p>
<p>It&#8217;s the little things that count &#8211; who said plastic bags were a scourge of modern-day society.  Not Lachlan.</p>

Ali Jouzou avait ouvert les hostilités en qualifiant l’ancien premier ministre et actuel dirigeant du CPL, le Général Michel Aoun, d’ennemi de l’Eglise Maronite, des sunnites et du Président de la République Michel Sleiman, ainsi que des médias dans un communiqué publié ce dimanche, avant de l’accuser de conditionner la formation d’un gouvernement d’union nationale en imposant le ministre des télécoms actuel, Gébran Bassil.</strong></p>
<p>Le CPL a rapidement répondu au dignitaire sunnite, l’accusant d’inciter au sectarisme et à la division.</p>
<p>« Avec tout notre respect aux symboles religieux, nous ne pouvons pas permettre à des gens comme lui ou à lui, d’user de position religieuse pour toucher à la dignité de la population, changer les faits ou répandre des rumeurs », peut-on lire dans le communiqué du mouvement du Général Aoun, et d’estimer que ce dernier pourrait agir sous l’autorité politique du premier ministre désigné Saad Hariri.</p>
<p>Ce même communiqué appelle à l’arrêt de la campagne du Mufti Jouzou contre le général Aoun ainsi qu’un des excuses, et d’appeler Saad Hariri à y mettre un terme.</p>

<p>Mufti Perak berkata, hukuman sebatan bagi kesalahan meminum arak yang rancak diperdebatkan kini di media &#8220;sepatutnya 80 kali sebatan&#8221;.</p>
<p>&#8220;Sepatutnya kesalahan minum arak ini dihukum 80 kali rotan.</p>
<p>&#8220;Kalau setakat enam kali sebatan itu, apa yang nak diriuhkan?&#8221; kata Datuk Seri Harussani Zakaria ketika dihubungi <em>Malaysiakini</em> petang ini.</p>
<p>(Hukuman hudud yang ditetapkan bagi kesalahan mengambil alkohol menjadi perdebatan di kalangan ahli fekah, antara 40 hingga 80 kali sebatan).</p>
<p>Harussani diminta mengulas perdebatan hukuman sebatan terhadap model sambilan Kartika Sari Dewi Shukarno susulan keengganannya membuat rayuan, sementara pihak berkuasa pula menangguhkannya dengan alasan tiada kepakaran menyebat dari perspektif syariah.</p>
<p>Mengulas isu yang sama, Presiden PAS Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang juga berkata hukuman terhadap seseorang yang mengambil alkohol pada sisi agama antara 40 hingga 80 sebatan.</p>
<p>&#8220;Di bawah hukum Islam, kesalahan meminum arak diletakkan di bawah hukum hudud, iaitu satu hukum yang dinaskan mengikut Al-Quran dan hadis Rasulullah.</p>
<p>&#8220;Jika bersandarkan kepada nas, maka hukuman ke atas peminum arak untuk penganut Islam setelah sabit kesalahan ialah sebatan antara 40 hingga 80 rotan jumlahnya,&#8221; katanya dalam satu kenyataan.</p>
<p>Beliau, juga ahli parlimen Marang, berkata cara merotan pesalah dalam Islam jauh berbeza dengan hukuman sebat yang dijalankan untuk penjenayah bawah undang-undang negara sekarang.</p>
<p>&#8220;Mengikut Islam, sebatan ini perlu mengambil kira keadaan dan kesihatan pesalah, selain daripada memastikan pesalah dalam keadaan sepenuhnya berpakaian menutup aurat.</p>

<p>Angkatan Belia Islam Malaysia (Abim) pula berkata masyarakat umum masih tidak mempunyai kefahaman jelas tentang perundangan Islam sehingga kes-kes seperti yang melibatkan Kartika menjadi sensasi.</p>
<p>&#8220;Kalau kita lihat daripada kes ini sebagai asas, masyarakat Islam belum ada fahaman jelas mengenai undang-undang Syariah,&#8221; kata presidennya Muhammad Razak Idris.</p>
<p>&#8220;Kefahaman sedia ada di kalangan masyarakat Islam tidak menyeluruh.&#8221;</p>
<p>Beliau turut mempertahankan enakmen syariah sedia ada, namun hakim perlu menggunakan kebijaksanaannya sendiri untuk menjatuhkan hukuman supaya mengelak tanggapan negatif terhadap pelaksanaan undang-undang ini.</p>

<p>As we have predicted in the past, the stepping down of radical Hilaly as Mufti of Australia and his replacement by another imam who would be just as radical but who would attempt to cover the sinews of his spiritual radicalism under the garments of moderation, has just happened. The selection by the Australian Council of Imams of the elderly and scholarly Sheikh Fehmi Naji el-Imam of the Preston Mosque to replace Hilaly as Mufti of Australasia, is no less than an attempt by the politically minded advisers of the Australian Council of Imams to cozen and dupe the Australian public that they were substituting a moderate cleric in the person of Sheikh Naji for the radical Hilaly.</p>
<p>But let us see whether our prejudgment of the new Mufti is too hasty and facile by looking at the past conduct and statements of Sheikh Naji. Six years now since the twin towers bombing and all the objective evidence who was behind the attack, the Sheikh still refuses to acknowledge that Osama bin Laden was behind it. His reply is that he has heard people saying that al Qaeda were the perpetrator but he himself has not seeing the evidence. Now the Sheikh is reputed to be a scholarly and intelligent man and one would expect of him to use the latter two qualities in search of the truth. If six years after the event, he still cannot make up his intelligent mind, despite the resounding evidence that is also verified by the statements of bin Laden himself that al Qaeda was the deadly agent, as to the real perpetrator of that dastardly action, then people must come to the conclusion not that the Sheikh does not have the truth in his hands but that he hides it. And the reason why he hides it is that he does not want to alienate himself both from other imams, who also believe that bin Laden was not behind the attack, and of the wider Muslim community which also believes likewise, after hearing their clerics for so long repudiating that the attack was engendered by al Qaeda.</p>
<p>Hence the important question is not what Sheikh Naji truly believes about 9/11 but what he <strong>truly represents.</strong> That a great number of Muslims, after being indoctrinated for so many years by their radical imams about the evils of the West and the Great Satan America have been also radicalized, and it’s exactly this fundamentalist stratum that the Sheikh represents. That there is a majority of fledgling radical Muslims in our midst has been lucidly illustrated by the recently religiously arrogant statements of the head of the <em>Supreme Islamic Shia Council of Australia,</em> Kamal Mousselmani, as reported in the <em>Australian,</em> on June 23-24, 2007. He said, his <strong>entire</strong> of 30,000 Shi’ites in Australia were <strong>avid</strong> [my emphasis] supporters of Hezbollah (Party of God) and haters of Israel, considered Hezbollah to be a “resistance group” not a terrorist organization. He continued, “Shia in Australia considers Israel a terrorist organization <strong>and also view those who support Israel in the same light”.</strong> And with the superciliousness of a fanatic who speaks in the name of God, he said to the reporters attending his press conference, “put those words down, we are not afraid to say that”.</p>
<p>Certainly there is a minority of moderate Muslims within their community but who would dare to swim against the stream of such torrential river of radicalism? This is why the expectation by some civil libertarians and politicians that moderate Muslims can oust the radicals from their position of power and influence, is completely unrealistic at least in the short term. And in “the long term we will all be dead”, to quote John Maynard Keynes.</p>
<p>Furthermore, Sheikh Naji’s record speaks for itself. He officially supported the application for residency of Abdul Nacer Benbrica, who presently awaits trial for alleged terrorist actions in Australia. Asked by a reporter if moderate Muslims should take a stronger stand against extremists, he ducked the question and answered that the media misrepresented the facts about Muslims. What he would say to those Muslims who wanted to go overseas and participate in jihad, he replied, “I don’t know what (the) circumstances outside (Australia) would be”. He also called for the removal of Hezbollah’s military arm from Australia’s proscribed list of terrorist organizations. And in a lame attempt to shift jihad in favor of Australia, not realizing that he was throwing a boomerang in the air, he said that Australian Muslims would participate in a jihad to “protect Australia from its <strong>enemies</strong>”. Presently Australia is fighting its enemies, extremist Muslims, in Iraq and Afghanistan; is the Sheikh going to send his holy warriors to these theatres of war as an outcome of his pledge to protect Australia?
