For my Wild Orchid Crafts DT Project this week I made a couple of these cake boxes, the first one was made on Friday night,  I had so much fun.. they are dead easy to make!   This is the Masculine box.

Ok now I will show you the full card, with its intricate border punched with Martha Stewart punch around the page Deco Fans.   These punches make a card so beautifully elegant and feminine, I am coming to find they are my new best tool. The stamp is from Lucy’s Stamps, such a lovely saying.

The ribbon is threaded through a piece punched with a Fiskars border punch Leave it to Weaver and a looped bow holding the flowers together.  The card is finished with rhinestones and lovely punched butterflies.

Often I struggle putting colours together and have a difficult time working with designer paper.  This card is a good result for me and I love the texture and colours.

I took an A5 sized hardback notebook, spiral bound that I bought last year (in bulk) .. they were a bargin!!   Removed the front and back cover, applied gesso and acrylic paint, did a bit of stamping then added some shabby chic stylie embellies and hey presto!

I made a card!! Yes I am back to that, so Lisa hosted the I Spy Challenge on SCS and I am sure it is a candle, so here is my effort, a head start on Christmas this year…. how scary!!

Lisa is so funny, she really takes this so seriously and does such a wonderful job, she makes things so fun!!  So Lisa said….

Now you know I love winning prizes, I love anything that is a freebie, even if I never use it, so I just had to be in this.

Here is a closie of the stacked embellie on my card.  The ribbon is only thin, so I made a quad-bow with it and wrapped it around my card to make more impact.  Three beautifull mulberry flower pointsettias, some bead string (fused beads) and a hat pin of course.  Very tricky, eh??

This card was made for the SCS Colour Challenge this week, A little Bashful Blue. Colors this week are BASHFUL BLUE, NIGHT OF NAVY and WHITE. The dessert this week is glitter.

OK so this is what I came up with, Navy, Sky Blue and White with a little bit of glitter down the body of the butterflies.

This afternoon/evening in the shed I made a gift box, 1} as next weeks project for Wild Orchid Crafts and 2} as a decorative christmas box to give my mother in law her pressie on Christmas Day

It started out its life as a little green soap box and was then repurposed into a lovely wee gift box!

I gave the whole thing a coat of gesso and then several coats of Antique Gold Acrylic Paint, I also stamped french script all over the box in Ranger Sepia Archical Ink.

Then I took some christmas sheet music paper and adhered it to the painted box with matt medium.

The keyhole was given to me by my friend Deb who made some from polymer clay, I gave it a coat of gesso and then painted it with Antique Gold Paint and distressed it with Frayed Burlap distress ink… I used a little metal embelishment dragonfly  for the handle.

I had bought a sytrofoam/polystyrene ring at the weekend with a project like this in mind and I do love how it turned out.. the flowers remind me of winter roses

The supplies list is at the bottom of this post.

Sooo… first of all I wrapped the ring in florists tape…

and then I took some flower petals and dabbed each one in the centre with Forrest Moss Distress Stain and gave it a blast with the heat gun…

Then they were hot glued onto the polystyrene ring…

I added a few prancing reindeers, green tone roses and some leaves to fill out the ring

then added some lovely red seam binding and a little christmas charm to finish it off…..

First up I needed to make a New Home card for my mother in law, its a week late, but since i’ve been busy helping out, I think i’m excused with the lateness of the card

Its an easel card combining a couple of mat board accucut die cuts that deb sent me last week, combined with Stampin Up’s new Pool Party cardstock and ink.  The patterned paper is Melissa Frances 5th Avenue, Gorgeous flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts and some of my fav ruffle ribbon from May Arts..

Next I made a Speedy Recovery Card for my neighbour who, I found out today had fallen down her stairs in the house 4 weeks ago and is in a spinal unit and a major hospital, you could have knocked me down with a feather when I heard the news, so I made this card to pop through her door tonight for her hubby to take into her…

This card uses stampin up cardstock for the base with a digital download image from Etsy store Made by Janet, followed up with some gorgeous seam binding and a hand stamped sentiment using 99p Studio G wooden stamps.

Then I decorated a little photo frame. I’m going to be putting a picture of my mum and dad in this and have it hanging here in my workshop..

Its a frame accucut die that my friend deb had bought and kindly sent me some cuts, she made some gorgeous halloween tree decorations using these and they turned out fab..

The paper line I used on the frame is the K & Company Julianne collection and some lovely wee roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.

Its a large matchbox diecut from Accucut and  I was lucky to receive some cuts of it from my friend Deb

It is also my DT project for Wild Orchid Crafts this week, where I am showcasing their gorgeous cotton lace, silk ribbon and neutrals buttons

I also used some gold silk material and neutral calico to cover the box

I painted the chipboard with oatmeal coloured acrylic paint, then layered it with a mixture of Muslin and stitched patterned paper and some raffia ruffles
