Televizyonda yayınlanan ve bir fenomene dönüşen Kurtlar Vadisi dizisinin ve “Kurtlar Vadisi Irak” filminin devamı niteliğindeki “Kurtlar Vadisi Gladio”, bir derin devlet ajanının, yıllar boyu hizmet ettiği Gladio ile hesaplaşmanı konu alıyor.

İskender Büyük, derin devlet adına sayısız eylemde bulunmuş emekli bir istihbaratçıdır. Karanlık geçmişi nedeniyle sanık sandalyesine oturtulduğunda, yanında, baronun gönderdiği genç ve tecrübesiz avukat Ayşe’den başka kimse yoktur. Yargılanmasına göz yumanlarla hesaplaşmaya karar veren İskender Büyük, tüm bildiklerini anlatmaya başlar. İskender’in karanlık geçmişinin sayfaları arasında, ülkeyi yerinden sallayacak gerçekler gizlidir. Bu şok gerçeklerin işaret ettiği tek adres ise ‘Gladio’dur.

Now do you understand, or not? This is proof that comes down to us from the Prophet; and just as that tradition is still intact that we may refer to it today, so also the inner spiritual authority passed down from the Prophet to our Grandsheikh and then to us remains intact. That spiritual authority for the guidance of people has come down to me, has been given to me. I am not such a person who appoints himself to be a guide for people – no, rather I have been given authority by those who have authority to give.

Our way is a way of authority and integrity, and a way that is safe for a seeker to follow. Because of the high rank that this Path holds among the various ways, the seeker who wishes to follow this path must abandon himself to the discretion, wisdom and understanding of the Sheikh. Our Grandsheikh often said to me: “O Nazim Effendi, don’t put my words and actions in a scale and weigh them. Don’t say ‘Why is that Sheikh saying such-and such or doing so-and-so’. If you are thinking and evaluating in such a manner you will never be able to derive any benefit at all from your teacher, and we will leave you on your way and go on ours. In order to follow us you must follow without judging or objecting. Only if you can follow in this manner may you come to know anything of our realities.

Why did Allah Almighty tell the story of Moses and Khidr in the Holy Qur’an? What does that story have to tell us about using our minds to judge that is beyond our understanding? What is our position when we think that we know so much whereas we actually know nothing?

Yes, that tale was told so that we might take wisdom from it, not just for amusement, for people to read and enjoy such an entertaining story. It is an undisputable fact that hidden wisdom may be found in the actions of Saints, even if those actions appear to contradict our idea of how things should be done. For your own good you must learn how you can acquire the attributes necessary to go with such people.

As far as the actions of your Sheikh are concerned, don’t try to weigh and evaluate them with your mind, even if you be the Prophet Moses! For if you be a Moses, someone else may be a Khidr, and so despite your station, he may be above you and may be able to teach you. Moses kept weighing Khidr’s actions (Peace be upon them both!) and Khidr kept saying: “Don’t confront me or object to anything I do until I explain its meaning to you.” Finally, when Moses found it too difficult to keep these instructions and objected to the actions of Khidr which were beyond his understanding, Khidr told him: “You will never be able to be patient with me – go on your way.”

So, all that the follower of a Sufi Path may do is to try and learn from the Sheikh’s way of dealing with people and form the Sheikh’s attributes in general. A follower can never fully understanding the meanings and implications of an authorized Sheikh’s actions. He cannot know what orders may be coming to the Sheikh from the Holy Prophet. He who has the guidance of the Holy Prophet has been given the wisdom and authority to catch people from the road of self-destruction and degradation and bring them to the Path of Eternal Happiness.

Oh yes, it is known as self peeling banana! I came across this banana plant on my recent nursery trip and it’s definitely a pleasant discovery. Musa velutina, also known as the Velvet Pink Banana, bear short and stout looking fruits which are very different from those we had seen in the supermarket.

But why does it peel by itself? A good answer would be to attract birds and other animals to disperse the seeds. Everyone enjoy convenience, isn’t it? This plant has a good advertisement strategy! The flowers and fruits are covered with short hairs which give them the velvety touch.

Many would ask “Are the fruits edible?”. The answer is unknown but probably not as it will not be a good experience as the fruit is filled with black seeds! It is not a tall plant and can be a fast grower, perfect candidate for an interesting community garden!

Her şey dünyada artık televizyon diye bir şeyin var olmadığıyla ilgili, daha doğrusu dünyadaki tüm televizyon ekranlarının bilinmeyen bir sebepten ötürü beyaza büründüğünü duyuran o talihsiz haberin gazetelerde yayımlanmasıyla başladı. Söz konusu haberi hemen hemen tüm gazeteler manşetten vermiş ve okuyucularını tedirginliğe maruz bırakmıştı. Habere göre yazın gelişiyle birlikte dünyadaki tüm televizyonlar bilinmeyen bir sebepten ötürü ebediyete intikâl etmiş, daha doğrusu ne idüğü belirsiz o meçhul beyazlıktan başka hiçbir şey göstermez olmuştu. İşin ilginç yanı ise bu garip olayın tüm dünyada aynı anda gerçekleşmiş olmasıydı. Takvimlerin otuzbir Mayıs’ı bir Haziran’a bağladığı ve/yani işte saatlerin tam sıfırı gösterdiği o mübarek gecede, dünyadaki tüm televizyon kanalları hep birden beyazlara bürünmüş, insanlar ellerindeki uzaktan kumandalarla kanal değiştirmeye çalışmışsa da bu çabalarında başarısız olmuştu. Belli ki artık kanal değiştirmenin en ufak bir manası kalmamıştı. Çünkü hangi kanala geçilirse geçilsin sonsuz bir beyazlıktan başka hiçbir şey görülemiyor ve duyulması neredeyse imkânsız, lâkin her ne hikmetse rahatsız edici bir hiss sesinden başka bir şey duyulamıyordu.

Ekran karşısındaki izleyicilerin çoğu bu esrarengiz hadiseye ilk tanık oluşlarında durumu tüm devletlerin bir araya gelerek kurguladığı yersiz bir yaza giriş şakası olarak değerlendirmişse de, ertesi sabah uyandıklarında bunun sadece basit ve yersiz bir yaza giriş şakası olmadığında hemfikir olacaklardı. Konuya ilk eğilen resmi makamın bir din görevlisine ait olması ise sanırız ki gelinen noktada pek de öyle şaşkınlık yaratacak bir durum arz etmiyordur. Beyaza eklenen hiss sesi ise Tanrı’nın varlığının çıkardığı sesi temsil etmek için eklenmiş olabilirdi ancak.

Din görevlisinin hemen akabinde söz alan ise bilimsel araştırmalar enstitüsü başkanıydı, ki kendisinin bilim adına söz aldığını belirttikten sonra konuşmasını şu sözlerle sürdürmüş olduğu söylenir: “Karşı karşıya bulunduğumuz bu kaygı verici ve düşündürücü durumu dini bir çerçeve içerisinde ele almak eğiliminde olanlar söz konusudur. Bunlar ekranların beyazlaşmasını Tanrı’dan gelen bir mesaj olarak telâkki etmekte ve insanlığı yanılgıya sürüklemektedirler. Bizce söz konusu beyazlaşma büyük ihtimalle uzaylılardan gelen bir işarettir. Kuvvetle muhtemeldir ki uzaylılar bize bir şey anlatmaya çalışmakta, lâkin biz idrak kabiliyetimizin cüziliğinden ötürü onları anlayamamaktayızdır. Bilimsel araştırmalar enstitüsü olarak konuyla ilgili araştırmalarımız bilimin sönmez ışığı altında sürecektir.”

Bilim adına yapılan bu açıklamayı ise dünya devletleri ortak platformunun basın sözcüsü tarafından yapılan siyasi açıklama izleyecekti, ki nitekim işte izlemişti de zaten: “Dünya devletleri ortak platformu olarak şunu belirtmek isteriz ki ekranların beyazlaşması vakası küreseldir ve biz de küresel bir platform olarak söz konusu olayın gerisindeki esrar perdesini kaldırıp neler olup bittiğini açıklığa kavuşturmak maksadıyla bütün bilgi-enformasyon kaynaklarımızı seferber etmiş bulunuyoruz. Bilmenizi isteriz ki tüm dünya ülkeleri bu muammanın ortadan kalkması yolunda el birliğiyle çalışmaktadır. İnsanlığın korkacak hiçbir şeyi yoktur!”

Dünya devletleri ortak platformunun basın sözcüsü tarafından yapılan bu sert ve iddialı açıklama insanlığın yüreğine birkaç damla su serpmiş olsa da, dünya genelinde yaygınlaşma gösteren panik dalgası yanında serpilen bu birkaç damla suyun esamesi bile okunamayacaktı. Devletler platformunun aldığı önlemlere kısaca göz atacak olursaydık görürdük ki bu önlemler pek de öyle maksada hizmet eden önlemler değildi, değildir, zira zaten henüz maksadın ne olduğu bile belirsizdir. Lâkin bu belirsizlik belli olan hiçbir şey olmadığı anlamına gelmemeli, ki gelmiyor da zaten, zira belli olan bir şey vardır ve kısaca özetlemek gerekirse o şey şudur: Maksadın belli olması için öncelikle doğru sorunun ne olduğu bilinmeli, sonra da bu soruna/soruya çözüm bulabilmek için yapılması gerekenler belirlenerek maksat denilen şeyin ortaya çıkarılmakla kalmayıp, maksada vasıl olunması için hayata geçirilmesi gereken eylemler serisinin de somut olarak zuhretmesi sağlanmalıdır. Oysa bizim anlatımızda ekranlardan dışa yansıyan beyazlığın ne anlama geldiği, söz konusu beyazlığın nereden kaynaklandığı, yayın akışındaki bu sebebi meçhul kesintinin neyin işareti sayılabileceği, beyazlığın uzaylılardan mı, yoksa Tanrı’dan mı geldiği henüz belli olmadığı için devletler de haklı olarak sırf bir şey yapmış olmak için yapılan manadan ve maksattan yoksun işler ve açıklamalar yapacaktır. Tüm bu açıklamaların manadan ve maksattan yoksun olduğunun idrakiyle isterseniz gelin şimdi de hep birlikte yaratıcı beyinlerin nasıl çalıştığına bir göz atalım ve beynin yeni bir şey yaratabilmesi için bir içe-yansıtma ve dışa-yansıtma mekanizmasının kısır-döngüsünü kırabilecek kudrete sahip olması gerektiğinin altını çizelim.

In this post, I will highlight the dangers of abiding by too literal a translation of the Holy Qur’an- by literal I mean embracing the letter but ignoring the spirit- actually, this is no embrace at all..

When Sayyidna Umar (Ra) wanted to know what Taqwa meant, one of the eminent Sahabi answered him that Taqwa is to walk through a field of thorns, raising your leg-cloth so that the thorns do not hurt you. This is the way of the Prophets, this is the way of the Sahabah and this is the way of the pious who are always conscientious of their Lord. The Prophet said, that every king has a boundary and the boundary of Allah are his Laws (Hudood), so Taqwa is to restrain from encroaching upon His boundary, or even going near it.

Unfortunately, we mistake Taqwa for its physical manifestations like having a beard, uncovering the ankles, and so on.. what use are these if the heart is not aligned with the superordinate goal. Physical manifestations should breed Taqwa rather than endanger it. The Prophet (Pbuh) also said that there is a piece of flesh in the body, which if it is right, the whole body is right, and if it is wrong, the entire body is diseased, that piece of flesh is the heart.

Coming back to a literal translation, we know well the case of those from the Bani Israil who enquired Musa (Alayis Salaam) about which calf to sacrifice. In fact, the start of Surah Baqarah is entirely devoted to the misdeeds of the earlier communities. A case in point is their reliance on literalism, and irrelevant debates on matters all and sundry. The present torchbearers of guidance should look through this lens to see where they stand- verily, we are going down the same path. Unless the central concern of each individual becomes how to foster Taqwa in himself and his surroundings, there will always be disharmony across the globe.

By literal meanings, we are gaining nothing- unless we go through the Nur of the Qur’an true Hidayah will not dawn upon us. Going through the Nur means to get entranced, to hold fast to the Rope of Allah (Swt)- the Hablullah. This can happen only by following the Prophetic way as enshrined in his Seerah. Unless one travels this path, the path of the dervish, the path of the learned, the path of the seeker of truth, and unless one experiences a revolution in his soul and heart, there will not be much gained. There is a difference between having information and having Eeman. Others have researched more on the Qur’an than those to whom it was revealed, yet are the former guided? No, surely they are not! They have information, they have knowledge but their knowledge has not yet become Ilm- Ilm is what benefits the individual, what use is knowledge that does not benefit, but lead astray- SubhanAllah (all glory with Allah Most High)!!

Those who rely on literalism- how will they mould the spirits of men whom the message has not yet reached? Spirits are not moved by empty words, spirits are moved by the force of collective spiritual personalities. This can only come from the Nur that lies embedded in the Qur’an. People have proved lesbianism from the Qur’an, people have proved Muta (temporary marriage akin to prostitution) from the Qur’an – the second case is getting more popular in even so-called Sunni societies.

As a learned scholar has said, the real Mufti lies in the heart. So, let us focus on transforming our hearts, this can only happen through attaching the heart to its Creator. The human heart is small, it cannot accept the love of its Creator, unless the love of other entities (Hubb-e-jaah) is removed from it. Literalism focuses on the mind, the heart and soul are untouched; Spirituality focuses the light upon light upon the heart, makes the spirit receptive to the Divine Manifestation of Hidayah, which enables it to embark upon a journey of self-discovery. The Prophet (Pbuh) advised Umar (Ra) that to know oneself is to know God. This is why the Sufis of yore went into ecstasy when they found their Lord, in effect they had found their primal origin.

A segunda cantora homenageada aqui é a Elis Regina. Ela nasceu na capital do Rio Grande do Sul, Porto Alegre,  em 1945. Começou a carreira aos onze anos de idade em um programa de rádio para crianças chamado O Clube do Guri, na Rádio Farroupilha, apresentado por Ari Rego.

A “Pimentinha”, o “Furacão Elis”, como era chamada, lançou compositores como João Bosco e Aldir Blanc, Renato Teixeira, Fátima Guedes. A primogênita do casal Romeu Costa e Ercy Carvalho Costa foi a primeira pessoa a inscrever sua voz como instrumento na Ordem dos Músicos.

Em 1956, passou a integrar o elenco fixo do programa, Clube do Guri, da Rádio Farroupilha de Porto Alegre. Em 1959, assinou seu primeiro contrato profissional com a Rádio Gaúcha também de sua cidade natal.

Em 1965, venceu o 1º. Festival Nacional de Música Popular Brasileira (TV Excelsior) com “Arrastão” (Edu Lobo e Vinícius de Morais). Dois dias depois, estreou no Teatro Paramount (SP) o show “Elis, Jair e Jongo Trio”, que, gravado ao vivo, se tornou o LP “Dois na Bossa”. Com sucesso do disco, ela e Jair Rodrigues estrelaram o histórico programa semanal “O Fino da Bossa”.

O programa saiu do ar em junho de 1967, porém, Elis continuou ao lado de Jair Rodrigues nos três programas da série “Frente Única – Noite da MPB” (TV Record). Em dezembro, aos 22 de idade, casou-se com Ronaldo Bôscoli, 16 anos mais velho. Logo, nasceu seu primeiro filho, João Marcelo.

O casamento terminou em 1972 e, em 1974, casou-se com o pianista César Camargo Mariano. Viveu em São Paulo, onde nasceram: Pedro, em 1975; e Maria Rita, em 1977. Em 1981, separou-se de César.

Sua carreira internacional ficou mais importante a partir de 1968, quando cantou nas TVs inglesa, holandesa, belga, suíça e sueca. De volta à TV Record, em 1969, fez a série de programas “Elis Studio”, dirigida por Miéle e Bôscoli. Em maio, viajou para Londres, onde gravou um LP com o maestro inglês Peter Knight. Em junho, na Suécia, gravou um LP com o gaitista Toots Thielemans.

“Elis & Tom”, disco com Tom Jobim, saiu em 1974. Na inauguração do Teatro Bandeirantes (SP), cantou ao lado de Chico Buarque, Maria Bethânia, Tim Maia e Rita Lee. No ano seguinte, lançou “Falso Brilhante”, em disco e nos palcos, show que assistido por 280 mil pessoas.

Pela TV Bandeirantes, em 1979, demonstrou a sua intimidade com São Paulo em um programa no qual passeava pela cidade com Adoniran Barbosa e visitava Rita Lee. E participou do Show de Maio, com renda revertida para o fundo de greve dos metalúrgicos de São Paulo, no estúdio da Vera Cruz, em São Bernardo do Campo, para 5 mil pessoas.

Naquele ano, gravou “O Bêbado e a Equilibrista”, imediatamente apelidado de “Hino da Anistia”. No 13º Festival de Jazz de Montreux, na Suíça, foi aplaudida por 11 minutos. Para agradecer a platéia, fez uma jam session com Hermeto Pascoal.

Em 1980, o show “Saudade do Brasil” reuniu no palco 24 músicos e bailarinos. No ano seguinte, fez o espetáculo “Trem Azul”, com cenário de Elifas Andreato.

Teve morte repentina, em 19 de janeiro de 1982, atribuída a uma overdose. Foi velada no Teatro Bandeirantes, e vestia a camiseta proibida pela ditadura militar no show “Saudade do Brasil”: a bandeira brasileira, com seu nome escrito no lugar de “Ordem e Progresso”.

A sua filha caçula, Maria Rita, que tinha cinco anos quando Elis morreu, começou a cantar aos 24 anos. Dona de um timbre de voz que lembra muito o de sua mãe, fez sucesso instantaneamente.
