We continued to chat online and text, but it felt more like friends. We went out again and this time got on loads better, chatted more but obvious to me we were just friends as there was no chemistry. I went to the States that Christmas and New Year and when I got back he sent me a message saying he had met someone but wasn’t sure what to do since meeting me. I explained I didn’t think he was interested. He said he had been. We have since remained good friends as we do have loads in common but nothing more. He did upset me once though when we went to watch my favourite band play in London and he was texting his then girlfriend to say he hadn’t enjoyed it. However I am glad to say he is no longer with that girl as she wasn’t good for him and he is now engaged to a really good friend of mine who I met at a party that was held at ‘boy 26′s’ house when I lived with him.

It was now May 2007 and I met ‘boy 24′ on a social network site but never physically met him. He seemed lovely at first and interested in me but then I think I became a little obsessed with him which probably scared him off. I know he had gone through a divorce and I guessed another relationship especially one that would have been long distance wasn’t on his agenda. He led me on at first, once by telling me he had, had a naughty dream about me and another time he asked me to call him. We text each other quite a lot too.

I then got the hint that he never actually wanted to meet up. This became apparent when I suggested meeting up and watching a band I knew his friends were in but he told me he was going to watch the Foo Fighters play in London. I later saw photos of him at the gig I had suggested going to. Despite the fact that he wasn’t really interested, looks wise he was exactly what I was looking for. He had similar music tastes in rock, metal and punk. He rode a motorbike, was tall, skinny, had facial hair and a punk rock style. I heard more recently that he got married again and now has a little boy.

Whoever can’t make it tonight, works late or has to feed the kids at that time, have a sneak into next Friday’s Music Gig with JAPE (with DJ Stevie M)! I’ll go into this new DJ thing in detail over the next few days, for now I am only saying comfy sofas and bean bags, My Space, room to boogie … to pique your curiosity a tiny bit…

 Anyway, here is JAPE, coming to The Dock next Friday at 8.30pm, I have to play this clip to my little boys every single day at the moment, they find it hilarious how your man gets attacked by veggies! Only thing I wonder, do they feel now that vegetables are really not good for you after all?

The students in the year above my year had an after show party and ‘boy 15′ came up to me quite drunkenly and said ‘you were the cabbage’, referring to the modelling I had done months before where I had modelled a dress made out of cabbage leaves. It was then that I realised who he was.

We got together a few weeks after that at the Summer Ball and spent the following day together before my dad came to help me move out of halls of residents. We didn’t speak to each other over the summer break. When we got back to college in our third year I was really worried about bumping into him as I had gone back earlier and knew he was around. I spoke to my housemate about what I should say to him if we see him and we decided that I should ask if he was going to the Freshers Ball. However every time I said it I kept calling it the Summer Ball. So lo and behold when we bumped into him I immediately asked him if he was going to the ‘Summer Ball’. I have never been more embarrassed in my life. My housemate was there too and of course saw the funny side of it and ‘boy 15′ just looked confused.

We did get together at the Freshers Ball even though he had admitted to me later that he wasn’t going to but couldn’t help it when he saw me. The rest of the relationship was lovely and he was so nice to me. He was also the fourth guy I slept with. I remember one night having to share his bed with him and his brother as his brother didn’t have anywhere else to go. Thankfully ‘boy 15′ slept in the middle.

I also remember going to Camden with him one night and meeting up with my sister and her then boyfriend to see a Jazz singer play. I got so drunk he had to help me home and I was sick all over one of the underground platforms. He carried me upstairs so I could get some fresh air. My sister however wasn’t so happy with me as I didn’t let her know we were leaving but I was in no fit state to do anything. He also came to meet my parents and have dinner with them then met some of my friends. However after the Christmas break that year I spoke to him about how it didn’t feel the same any more (ie he was distant towards me). His response was to say it was because we weren’t meant to be together. I was quite upset at first but realised he was right.

I’m having trouble getting to sleep tonight as a lot of things are swimming through my mind. I’ve decided to post some stuff to get it of my chest in a hope I will sleep better but be warned it is 1 in the morning so I’m not very alert.
I’ve been thinking a lot about love today and co incidences. I haven’t wanted to blog about ‘the heart’ because it is very personal and probably not interesting seen as I’m a teenager, after all what life experience do I have yet? Not much. Wow, this is getting serious for 1am! Any who, mum and I went to a local gig in town today which happened to be on at the same time as mum’s friend invited us out for lunch so we saw some of it and ate. At the gig happened to be (I say happened, he was running the thing) a man mum had met at my charity ball the army cadets had held. She had taken a shine to him then and still fancies him! I got her to go up to him and he- we’ll call him music man- remembered my mum! Yay! We were inside a cafe a bit after, having lunch, and he must’ve came in to use the loo but I thought it was a good idea to wave dorkishly from our table. Mum was embarrassed but they’re sooo meant to be together
My heart is a bit more complicated. I’m ashamed to say I’ve never had a boyfriend although I had a boy as a best friend, if that counts. I have a habit of acting silly or shy around boys which I guess is normal for my age and I get crushes really easily but they usually wear off over time. I’ve been heartbroken before but I’m not going in to anymore detail than that. I’m not quite sure what else to say because I don’t want to get it to it- it’s too long-a-life-story and not interesting. Right now I have a crush on a youtuber I’m subscribed to although it’s also normal to fancy famous people so I’m not going to loose sleep over it anymore! Good night! ZzZzzzz

Now putting my neurosis aside I still think that going to Birmingham is not a good idea. People have dieded there from swine flu. So what has brought this on? My sister is going to Birmingham. Now that isn’t bad in and of itself but the fact is that there is no reason for her to be going.

Alright her reasoning is that she is going to some gig there. What really gets me is that she doesn’t even like the people playing at the gig and 2 days ago she was perfectly fine with not going. So yesterday she says that she is now going because a friend bought her a ticket. I say repay him and not risk swine flu. Does she listen? NOOO! Of course not. I’m younger than her so obviously what I say doesn’t count.

Now before you think I’m going completely insane and being mean because I don’t want to get swine flu there is more. She seems to think that if she says ‘I’m not going to get swine flu’ she can prevent it by sheer will power alone. Then she still wants to go to work. She works with teenagers who are at high risk. I just think she is being very irresponsible.

But the thing that really gets to me is that she gets upset with me when I say this to her. I’m entitled to my own opinion. I’m not saying that she has to listen to me but she just blatantly disregards anything I say.

So my sister is going to a gig by a band she doesn’t like in Birmingham where she could get swine flu and with my luck pass it on to me and I’ll end up in hospital.

ON the advice of Tom Jones, Sandi Thom had been drinking whisky to aid her sore throat. Fortunately she didn’t over indulge and was able to deliver a fantastic show for her fans at Cabaret Voltaire last night.

Thom began her set with half a dozen new songs. During these hits the singer had no-one else on stage to back her up musically, instead she acted as a one-woman band playing her guitar, harmonica and pedal drum which displayed her many musical talents.

After the new stuff, Thom decided to go “back to what you know” saying, “It’s a bit cheeky to play all my new songs but I know you’d listen because you’re nice people.”

The Scottish singer/songwriter is probably most famous for her surprise 2006 number one hit, which became something of an internet phenomenon ahead of its release. The song I Wish I Was a Punk Rocker (With Flowers in my Hair) caused a lot of controversy with some musicians, including Lily Allen, arguing that real punk rockers would never wear flowers in their hair.

However, as she pointed out last night, 450,000 people in the UK bought the record so Thom can afford to laugh off the criticism.

A lot of people may see the singer as just another one-hit wonder, but judging from her excellent performance last night it’s safe to say we have not heard the last of Sandi Thom.
