Grab a bite of this, an old but new to some.

I heard this track on a series three episode of Ugly Betty in one of the closing scenes and then it was used as a backing track  on a Matthew Fox advertisement selling a L’Oreal product. Never the less ‘La Ritournelle’ by French muso Sebastien Tellier is a very chill track to listen to, add it to a track list on your summer mixtape to play on those balmy summer nights. For some reason every time I hear this song I always imagine riding an old school bromptom in the country side or in a local coastal village. Download the track. Better yet download or purchase his 2008 album Sexuality which was produced by one half of Daft Punk, Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo. There are a couple of good tracks on there with my personal favourite being ‘Roche’. Here’s the stop motion film clip to the 2007 track ‘La Ritournelle’. The best part happens at 0:58 (: Oh and I’ve added two fresh photos for you too peek out of my nephews Nathan and Dylan-Ashton.

Design features of Nokia CLIPit:

• Finger print as your SIM.
• CLIPit has all the cell phone’s data web based and you can reach not only by CLIPit but from multiple devices like other cell phones, disposable cell phones, your car kit, your home phone and so on. The key is your finger print.
• On top of the CLIPit you have a steel touch screen made by a group of small Light Emitting Diodes installed in the steel touch pad. So you have dynamic buttons and can dial, send and receive SMS and navigate your music easily.
• You don’t need to hold the phone in your hand or use any other device like Bluetooth hands free. When you have a call, just pull down the clip and CLIPit becomes a hands free.
• The ear phones of CLIPit have two sockets. You can hang your CLIPit around your neck with them when listening to the music. Like a beautiful necklace made by turquoise and steel.
• The way to connect with other devices for CLIPit is to Clip it to them. You can clip it to so many things to have connection with them. For example back panel of public bus seats.

You can clip your CLIPit to this 3-inch screen and have a mobile phone with a 3-inch color screen. It is quite BIG for a mobile phone. But the 12-inch screen is a combination of “Lumalive” and a concept fabric called “Smart fabrics”. “Smart fabrics” are cloths with a net of sensors between its layers for touch sense. The net is cut able and the fabric can be cut or sewed. In fact smart fabrics are touching sensitive cloths. This fabric is combined with “Lumalive” and to become a multi-touch color screen. Clip your CLIPit to it and you have a folding pocket 12-inch laptop.
• The 12inch touch screen is also a medium for CLIPits to share their data with each other. Quite easy.

- bateria tine la aproximativ 9 ore de muzica incontinuu
- se aude foarte bine, la volumul maxim…chiar se aude foarte clar si tare
- poti asculta muzica si fara sa fie conectate castile
- poti vedea filme sau citi texte, te poti uita la pozele stocate pe el
- este rezistent, nu s-a zgariat desi nu am avut deloc grija sa il tin in husa speciala (vine cu husa speciala si cu un pen de rezerva)
- ii poti adauga un card mini SD pentru a-i extinde memoria

Minusuri:
- nu am gasit nici un firmware update pentru el
- butonul de scrool down nu mai functioneaza ( inca nu am ajuns cu el la garantie pentru a repara problema, s-a intamplat din senin fara sa ii fac ceva anume la soft)
- se incarca doar de la USB (nu stiu daca merge un incarcator de priza cu adaptor USB, nu am incercat)
- castile mele au crapat acum o luna si a trebuit sa cumpar unele noi; nu stiu daca este o problema generala la toate sau doar am fost eu prea neatenta cu ele

Per total este un player foarte ok pentru cei care merg mult cu RATB sau metroul prin Bucuresti sau atunci cand pleci intr-o calatorie lunga cu trenul sau autocarul. Eu sunt foarte multumita de el, nu imi doresc alt player (poate doar un ipod, insa e cam scump) si sper sa ma tina cat mai mult timp. Il recomand cu incredere.

Amarok is a powerful open source music player which organize everything from albums to tracks and allows you to build dynamic playlists with ease. It have Integrated Web Services and Collection Management to your disposal.

Most KDE distros like kubuntu have Amarok installed by default.
Amarok is not a media file player nor should it be used that way, but more like a music manager and organizer for your music library. For single audio files you want to hear on you HDD it’s recommendable using VLC for that purpose.



The interface of Amarok is very flexible as most KDE/QT applications as you can set it up to fit your needs.

Amarok and Songbird are the two most popular music players in Linux. Amarok is a KDE application while Songbird is a comparatively new player based on Mozilla Technology. Obviously if you are a Ubuntu user, you must have heard of them.

Here’s a brief comparision between the two…..

1. Interface: Both applications provide great ways to manage your tracks, to serach for songs,etc. There is not much appreciable difference these two in this regard. However I personally feel that songbird has got an edge over amarok in looks.

2. Last.Fm scrobbling, MashTape: Songbird and Amarok both deal superbly with large collections and online services. However, Songbird with its brilliant MashTape add-on and Last.Fm scrobbling is the clear winner this time.

3. iPod Sync: Neither of these packages offers seamless support for the iPod, but they’re usable and full sync support is soon likely to be available on both. Till now, Songbird gets an edge over Amarok here.

4. Reliability: Songbird has a long way to go before it comes even near to amarok in this area. Songbird has got bugs and it crashes (or goes on unresponding) quite often. Amarok, on the other hand, is very fast and light.Moreover the search engine for songs in Songbird is too sluggish and so is the cover flow. It is the biggest drawback of Songbird.

5. Availability of scripts: Being in the market for a long time, Amarok obviously has got a better collection of scripts.

6. Memory Usage: Memory usage has been a big issue with Songbird since at times the memory usage jumps to severral times the normal usage. It uses twice as taken by amarok.

So what is the FINAL VERDICT???? Amarok or Songbird????

Inspite of its complete integration with web browsers and brilliant add-ons, I feel that Songbird still needs to improve a lot and fix its bugs. Songbird sometimes goes sluggish and hang up and it’s a great annoyance. But there are no such problems in Amarok…..

Amarok Verdict: Visually refreshed and ready for action. Amarok is our open source music player of choice. Rating – 9/10

Songbird Verdict: A brilliant mashup of web and media technology that’s definitely worthy of attention. Rating – 8/10

Jaangle (formerly Teen Spirit) is a free music player and organizer software. It categorizes your mp3, ogg, wma, avi etc collection and displays it in easy to browse, user interface. It has a quality audio – video player and also an integrated tag editor.

Description

You start by adding a folder which contains your music files (mp3, wma, avi, mpg etc). Jaangle scans and reads the available tag info. The artists appear in the tree like control. Each time you click on an artist all his tracks can be seen in the list pane, artist biography and image are automatically downloaded from the internet and displayed in the information pane. By double clicking a track in the list you hear the music playing. More info may appear (if available) in the info pane like lyrics or comments.

Jaangle is a Microsoft © Windows software application and it is tested in Windows XP/2003, Vista. (There has been reports of failed attempts to use it over W.I.N.E. in Linux). It is certified by softpedia as 100% free of malware, including adware, spyware, viruses, trojans and backdoors.
