Given the boom in people wanting to learn to play an instrument, we can not see how the opportunities and methods for learning are many more now that just a decade ago. Once it was necessary to go to get guitar lessons from the master, who could afford it, once, twice, three times a week, depending on what was good and what interested us. The teacher taught the agreements and some songs, with the passage of time. But the teacher was paid, and often a lot. Or you could learn to strum something from peers, but unless they were already great musicians, the levels reached were not lofty. There were some programs like garage band and who wanted to hear and check how it sounded, he had no other method to record a tape and return to step more or less interesting to intuition. To learn how to play your favorite songs, we went into stores and tried to memorize musical scores and arrangements, or the EC became transcribe the master.

Now, thanks to the spread of video games where you can learn to play an instrument, many young people are passionate in this world. And always thanks to the development of many new technologies to learn to play is much easier and faster. For those wishing to take a course of guitar or bass, just go anywhere and are demonstration videos, programs that provide all the scores, you can digitally record and then immediately find the place you want to repeat.

Yet many of these videos are often poor performances of other guys who want to show off and strut with an instrument. You should pay attention here to choose the right tools.

All these programs are very useful if you have no intention of paying a teacher, but keep in mind that to play really well, you must first learn the basics. To do this, the best method is definitely enroll in an academy of music. Learn how to self-learners is certainly very admirable, but it requires a lot of effort and twice the study. At least for the first time, you had better turn to the real experts. If you are interested then strum your favorite songs, alone or with friends, after learning of the solid foundation you can begin to explore their own arrangements of different songs.

In these schools, can apply for people of all ages, whether they have previous knowledge in music is that from the ground up, there will always be a suitable teacher for you. Furthermore you can also choose the tool that you like, not just the choice to the usual guitar. Try to space, with the mind and fingers between piano, clarinet, horn, flute, flugelhorn, percussion, sax, trumpet, trombone, tuba. You can also find lessons on music theory and music theory.

I emailed Mrs. Ripley each night of my senior show, because she was in China. I’m posting the three emails here because I feel like I should have documented my last musical at Gowanda somehow. So here they are.

THE WIZ: EPISODE ONE

We had fun tonight. Well, this afternoon. We did the energy circle thing (Taylor and I didn’t really explain it that well, though– we will tomorrow, since we instigated it). Bobby and Kris didn’t participate, but they’re losers. (Not really, but they’re lame boys and I’m sure that with the proper friendly persuasion they’ll do it tomorrow…ha).

The whole thing went pretty smoothly: there were a few instances where mics cut out; Glenn wasn’t there, either. I don’t know why.

I, um, may have gotten my only laughs from the crowd as soon as I walked on. Phoebe didn’t walk in a straight line and I had to try to scoot her out on stage twice-ish before she actually went, and even then it was kind of in a circle. So I picked her up and bopped across the stage, scrambling for the appropriate lines (obviously I couldn’t say “Come back here, Toto” if I was holding her) and I may have rammed into the house on accident with my shoulder.

Yes, I have a bruise.

Yes, the house off-kiltered a foot or so.

But it was funny, and even though I cracked up when I got off stage it ran nicely.

The makeup all looked really good; Zach and Kruszka and Taylor all got a lot of laughs; Chelsea and Dakota did too. Obviously my character isn’t funny, so they didn’t cheer so much for me, but that’s ok. I got home to Kansas and remembered to click my heels and it was all good.

I saw Kiener and Emma and Hannah, and that was pretty weird considering that in a year it’ll be me coming back to watch my friends. I don’t know if I’m okay with that yet. Stephen told me, “Well, this is it, this is your last show.”

And I could only smirk at him and reply that no, I had two more.

I just can’t think about this being “My Last.” It doesn’t sit well with me at all, so I think if I just don’t spend any time dwelling on it, it won’t affect me as much. I don’t want to get all watery and miserable on Tuesday.

But! All in all it was a good show and so far that’s what I’ve been hearing in reviews. “Great job,” “Good show,” “GREAT show,” keep being repeated. Some kids came back to us after and we (leads) talked to them and even got a picture or two with them (at parents’ insistence). The Lion, mostly, and (surprisingly) me were approached individually and greeted by toddlers and their parents, so that was cute. Mrs. Propp’s nine-year-old daughter Morgan had us all sign her program.

I think that tomorrow and Tuesday I’ll have more energy. I was thinking, by “Y’all Got It,” that I just wanted it to be done with so I could go home. I know that’s awful, but I was so so tired. The “easing on down the road” part of my job is straight up exhausting. I can’t dance anyway, so put singing and dancing together and I’m almost out by the time the Kalidahs get us.

Oh! And “Be a Lion” was good. Pretty darn good (the best time we’ve done it). I talked to Ms. Fried at intermission and she was really happy with it. Ms. Stoffel and her mom were really excited at the end, and so was Mrs. Hales. I think Mr. Wesley disappeared– we didn’t have notes and I didn’t see him at all after the production.

…and that’s all I know. It went really well. Tomorrow and Tuesday will be good also, I hope.

THE WIZ: PART TWO !

The show tonight was fabulous. Standing ovation (again), whoo hoooo! I left my makeup and contact case at school though, and that’s not so cool. Oh well. It’ll still be there in the morning (I hope).

Soo: there were so many outtakes tonight it was ridiculous. Hilarious.

And Aaron and Gabby were sick: Mr. Bett filled in for Aaron with a massively stuffed stomach and these outrageous overalls.

Then Chelsea starts it all off with: “Now I’m all axe… I mean, tin. I’m all… tin.” I just about died.

Then, during the funky monkey scene, Bethany played Aaron’s monkey so it was all a little off. It didn’t really help that the Friends had been sitting backstage making dirty jokes before we went on. (Haha.) So we were a little giggly. And whilst Bobby was chasing me, I screamed, aaaand– my shoe flew off.

I grabbed it and raced back to Zach/My Lion and quivered with laughter there while clutching my shoe. Then I had to hobble off one-footed and rush backstage to reshoe myself before entering on again.

Oh! And “Be a Lion” simply soared. It took off and zoomed around the aud amazingly and for the first time I really, really felt like I nailed it. I got offstage and started jumping around with glee because hey, my senior show won’t completely fall flat on its face there! I’ll get it tomorrow, too, I hope.

Also, Zachary gave Bobby a bloody nose during the Kalidahs (on accident). But I gave him drugs (Tylonol) so it was all good.

What else happened? Hmm. Well, there was a schizofrenic curtain at the end; it closed halfway, the light turned blue and then it opened partly– and then closed again. By then we were all cracking up and feeling really good. I hope it seriously rocks tomorrow. I’m looking forward to it soooo so much. Mr. Wesley talked to us last night about a “second show slump”– after Be a Lion, Chelsea, Dakota and I were walking to the side door and Chelsea goes, “Second show slump? What is that?” and from there it simply lifted and showered the audience with clarity and a good story. Zig/Christian kicked butt, too. And Kruszka really took charge with guiding the monkeys about Aaron’s absence. He came back and was talking to us too about the timing of the monkey scene and how we could fix it so it wasn’t awkward. That was cool.

Oh, and during “Y’all Got It” my skirt flew up. Like, way up. Soooo, the audience pretty much knows that I had the little polka-dotted bloomers on. Hahahah.

So, it was great. We really missed you, and were thinking of you the whole time. It was a great show, though.

I’ll send you another email tomorrow! After the last finale!

“AND JUST MAYBE I CAN CONVINCE TIME TO SLOW UP” — FINALE.

The Wiz has spoken, and it’s over.

Man oh man. An evening of emotional upheaval, that’s for sure. I was told that I gave my best performance of the three nights (by none other than our own Kevin Brown) but I’m not so sure. The audience was all small children, running inandout inandout the whole time; but by the second act they had settled down and we were rolling again.

The outtakes were slightly more hysterical tonight. Chelsea said, “An old witch put a spell on my axe!”

Me: “Your AXE?!”

Chels: “Nooo, a SPELL?”

Me: “A SPELL!”

And then she “chopped” her other leg off and in the excitement Dakota’s hat flew off.

Later: the Lion and I greeted each other at Evillene’s. Zachary reached out to pat my back. His glove, ah, got stuck on the back of my dress. So we adlibbed for a while until he managed to get his glove off. Apparently it sounded like I asked him, “So what’s that old b*tch got you doin’?” instead of witch because Zach and I were a smidgeon preoccupied.

And then while Taylor was yelling her spiel at us I managed to reach behind me and rip the glove off of my dress. But when I tried to throw the water the glitter didn’t quite shake out right. So I chucked the bucket at her. In retaliation, my best friend Taylor whips the chair in my direction. Fun times all around!

Hmm, what else?

The ending song was almost unbearable. On the last note (“home”) I could feel the mixed emotions of the cast just whipping and swirling around me: especially Taylor’s, Chelsea’s and Tara’s. We’ve been singing and performing together since we were little kids– what will we do now? I guess we still have the play, but it’s not the same.

It’s over. I’m just about to head over to Taylor’s right now for a cast slumber party with pizza– I just can’t wrap my head around the idea that it’s finished. There are so many more things to look forward to, especially musically, for me– but nothing will ever replace the endless hours and effort poured into that group: you know the one I’m talking about. It’s molded and mingled through the years but essentially, like you’ve said all along, it’s made us all conjoined at the hip. Now that the conjoination (is that a word?) is splitting, it feels like we’re all splitting too, inside. I imagine tonight at Taylor’s it will be an emotional wreck. A fun emotional wreck, but a wreck nonetheless.

Oh well. We’ll all just have to come to terms with it. And I suppose we will get over it and remember the fun we’ve all had. We missed you tonight, that’s for sure. We were all thinking about you and wishing you were there, but in the same breath glad that you were having fun, too. It’s been an awesome time.

As I said yesterday, we went to see Calamity Jane. Watching it brought back childhood memories of going with my grandma to see the local operatic society’s production of Calamity Jane. My grandma is partly responsible for my affection for and vague familiarity with a random selection of musicals, because she used to take me to the annual production put on by the local operatic society. I also remember going to shows at the Leicester Haymarket Theatre (which is sadly no longer in existence, although it’s been replaced by the Curve Theatre, which looks very swish) on more than one occasion, although these trips may have been with my parents rather than my grandparents or maybe with all of them. I wish I could remember more about these bits of my childhood.

I was probably about ten years old when I went to see Calamity Jane with my grandma. Watching the show yesterday, the memories that came to me weren’t just of the songs and the story, but the recollection of how I felt when I was watching it. I had very clear memories of sympathising with Calamity because she was a girl who wanted to wear trousers and practical boots (i.e. men’s clothes) and Wild Bill Hickock (and everyone else) was always telling her to put on a “pretty” dress. I wore dresses as a child because I was a good girl and did what I was told, but really I was much happier in jeans and a t-shirt and jumper and I didn’t like being told what I should or should not be wearing.

Calamity Jane may well have been the first (albeit semi-fictitious) woman I’d come across who rebelled against the stereotype of dresses for girls, trousers for boys and was quite, well, subversive, I think. She wanted to behave in the way she wanted, not in the way society thought she should behave and, for the most part, she did. She certainly didn’t conform to the 1870s ideal of womanhood- she doesn’t even conform to the 2009 ideal of womanhood!

Of course, I was (and still am, really) most indignant when Calamity finally succumbs and wears a dress, thereby ‘winning’ the affections of Wild Bill. It is at this point that Calamity changes, in my eyes, from a forerunner of feminism to just one of a long litany of fictitious women who transform from perceived ugly ducklings to swans and get the leading man as their reward. Because, of course, the only way to get a decent man (which is, naturally, the only way a woman can possibly be happy) is to conform to society’s ideal of what a woman should be – pretty, submissive, charming and homely. This is a lesson we women all must learn, so it is still in 2009 shown to us at every opportunity; on television, in films and in theatres, and not just in musicals written in the 1950s (which at least have the ‘excuse’ of being written in the 1950s!).

In fairness, Calamity doesn’t lose everything of herself – even after she gets together with Bill she’s still quite feisty, riding off to bring Katie back to Deadwood – but seeing her standing demurely in a wedding dress in the last scene felt a bit like a defeat. I hope she doesn’t let Bill change her too much.

There was a boy…

The Show Must Go On.

First and foremost, I’d like to say……… Yes, I’m cheating on my LJ agai

First and foremost, I’d like to say……… Yes, I’m cheating on my LJ again. Haha. Anyway…

Back when I was still a bum, I used to hate weekends just because I enjoy being alone most of the day at home too much. Nowadays, I still hate weekends since the house is packed and people just tend to be way too noisy arguing about the silliest of things. I think it’s the natural “this town ain’t big enough for the both of us” feeling that creates this force separating the parent and the child, ultimately resulting in the child moving into his or her own home……… But I digress just because that line of thought deserves a whole new blog entry. But anyway, since the 3rd of this month, every Saturday has been the one day I look forward to. Why? Because Weekday = Work Days and Saturday = Germaine day! Haha! And Germaine always means lots of drugs, sex and alcohol…

…Well, no, I’m kidding.

And so, this Saturday was no different than other Saturdays, meaning it was great. Haha. I forced (err) Germaine to sleepover since we were going to James Jean’s book signing at Fully Booked the next day. Before I get to that, here are some things I learned from Germaine, some things I should’ve known way back so I can claim them as my new discovery and pretend that I’m cool. Meh. Now I can’t. I’m such a poser…

*ahem*

They’re musical, they’re silly, check them out.

1. Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blogs

For those of you who like musicals and silly things, you’ll love Dr. Horrible’s Sing Along Blogs featuring a singing Neil Patrick Harris. I’m not sure if I’m the only one, but I never knew NPH could sing so well! It’s too bad the whole 3 blogs only last for a total of 42 minutes. Anywho, don’t want to spoil anything so just watch it for yourself.

2. Batman: The Brave and the Bold Episode 125 – Mayhem of the Music Meister

Song. Stuck. In. My. Head…. I’m the music meisteeeer! Haha! The music isn’t the only thing that I’m digging. If you haven’t watched the video, then I’m telling you now: watch out for the puns. Haha. I heard it’s a common occurence in the Batman: The Bold and the Brave series and this episode is most definitely not an exception.

“This concerto of crime is over!”

Person of the night: Neil Patrick Harris. If you guys watched both videos one after the other, then you’d have realized by now that Neil Patrick Harris is in both of them. Haha. Meh, that guy can sing.

Well that’s two things I learned yesterday. Life changing, huh? Next entry will be about this afternoon’s highlight: James Jean at Fully Booked High Street.

Today was such a fall day! I actually LOVED it! Hardly windy at all blue skys, decent temp (not sure what it was but I would guess around 60 or 65) Mother Nature was def on my side yesterday and I took FULL advantage!

I woke up and had my morning coffee (shocking I know! ;] ) and then set out on a walk with my little Pomeranian pooch

<3 Norman!!!!!!! <3

A true BEAST. We strolled in the door 4 miles (and many smiles!) later to no parents and a brother still in bed!?! Ha so I instantly checked the coffee pot and there was some still left over! YES. I enjoyed cup numero dose with my breakfast which included: KASHI GO LEAN CEREAL (my fav!)

mixed with Activia light yogurt, with an Apple and Peanut Butter on the side

Ok it was just getting even more gorgeous out so I COULD NOT resist going on a bike ride and then a walk after and each time I forgot to bring my camera GAH! Well tomorrow is supposed to be love as well so be expecting some pix from the bike path! =D I love how pretty the leaves are in the Fall and the crisp air and the pumpkin and harvest scents that come about! What’s your favorite thing about fall?

Later this evening I went to, well Starbucks ;] then the School Musical I have a bunch of friends in it but 2 of my verry best friends were in it. And I was seriously blown away, I knew they were talented but man they never cease to impress me in SOO many ways! So great Job GIRLS! They where in Little Shop of Horrors! I think I might audition for the spring dramatic play! I was in one Freshman year and it was fun, I’m really Nervous but I think it would be good for me to step out of my comfort zone! When was the last time you stepped out of your comfort zone, and was it totally worth it!?!

Well tomorrow I am trying out another Coffee Shop! So I will be having a review of that and Tazza tomorrow night I will post it in the Cafe section of my blog. Other than that Just church in the morning and hopefully more nice weather! I’m really trying to embrace the fall and enjoy it, I tend to loath it because it getting cold, dark early, yada yada yada, I just need to change what I do so more YOGA and PILATES less running and biking. More early morning strolls less late night strolls. I’m challenging myself this winter to embrace the seasons, see the beauty in them all, and focus less on the negatives of the weather and take lots of pictures! Do you gals have any seasonal challenges for yourself this year?

Well thank you for reading and Really from the bottom of my heart <3 thank you for being so welcoming and enthusiastic in your responses to my posts on your blogs! The welcome is very much appreciated!!

Have a wonderful evening and SUNDAY!!!

Sheikh Muhammed Salih Al-Munajjid | Language: English | Format: PDF | Pages: 59 | Size: 1 MB
Some Muslims who are either ignorant or of weak faith still commit many acts which Allah never allowed. Ignorance is not an excuse for doing Muharramat, hence is the importance of such books which deal in detail with many Muharramat that should be consciously learnt and consequently never committed.

The author. Sheikh al-Munajjid. has dealt with matters such as calling for help from sheikhs, saints and things other than Allah; worshipping the dead and circumambulating their graves; invoking prophets, using magic and fortune-telling and believing in astrologists and planets, etc.

As such, this book of prohibitions in beliefs and worship acts is a must to almost every Muslim, if he/she is really practicing Islam and wants to be safe and free of great sins.

Fredag – 1 forestilling. Idag – 2 forestillinger.
Godnat.

Okay, I have seen that classic movie musical, Oklahoma. There is this song performed with a racy theme called, ” I Can’t Say No!.” I found the following video on You Tube posted by Miss Broadway Dork who does the number with a great voice. However, her great personality and rendition of this song made me laugh and smile this morning.

I hope it does the same for you and brings out your inner “floosie.”

I know that I have been posting more than usual lately. Maybe it’s a sign of guilt over how I’ve been neglecting this blog in favor of my other online activities, including YouTube and Twitter. Those apps on Facebook and Myspace didn’t really help too much either, or maybe it is because I’ve overcome my very long case of blogger’s block and decided to take up the blog again. It is like what I said before, it’s time to get back to my roots.

Anyway, last night I went out to the latest play by the Ilion Little Theater Club, which is a musical based on one of the most popular board games of all time: ”Clue.” In this case, the play was a musical and it has been very popular with Mohawk Valley residents. In fact the first three shows last week were sold out and they had added an extra show because of the enormous popularity. It was also an interactive game in which the audience could take part, as though they were actually playing the board game. And I actually do have a confession to make: I have never played Clue the board game before, even though I have seen the movie they did back in the 80’s. The only time I play board games is Monopoly and that’s only when it is at McDonald’s.

Anyway, back to Clue. The theater also distributed sheets in which the audience could guess who the murderer is, where the murder took place, and what weapon was used based on a series of clues provided by Mr. Boddy, the victim. The night I went, it was revealed that it was Colonel Mustard who killed Mr. Boddy in the lounge with the lead pipe. However, that is not the actual ending of the play. Remember it is an interactive stage production so the suspects could change with each performance. I played along and I ended up getting the room where the murder was committed.

Okay, so I’m no Sherlock Holmes, but at least one out of three ain’t bad.

So anyway, like the week before, it was a packed house so I was lucky to get in when I did. The show was a lot of fun and I recommend to anyone in the Mohawk Valley area to go see this play. It is running again tonight and the extra show is Sunday afternoon in which two bucks will be taken off your admission if you bring a non-perishable food item which will go to a local food pantry. Just in time for Thanksgiving because after all, charity’s always nice.

And so I end this latest installment. So now I got some more things to worry about this week, like Thanksgiving and of course Black Friday (as in how I am going to get footage of Black Friday at work out and then put it on YouTube). Plus I got an extra day of work too.

Fue muy what the fuck.

He is a rapper that is always on my playlist no matter what type of mood I am in. He is old school type of feel and raps about life. He is a rapper that was around when Hip Hop started to be the music of my generation. I know for fact when i get older I will still be listening to him.

Some of my favorite songs are: Come Close to Me; I Have A Dream; I Used to Love Her

Check him out only on ITUNES

The Rocky Horror Picture Show, 1975 – Direção: Jim Sharman – Elenco:Tim Curry,Susan Sarandon,Richard O´Brien.

Meu musical preferido. Pronto. Acabou.

It – Be It, Rose Tint My World, Sweet Transvestite…Quer saber? Todos!

Divertida, original, assustadora, nojenta, desafiadora… Meu musical preferido!

5/5
