Shabbir Ali Khan 30 November 09 You can wear a hijjab and be young. Do not worry about the obstacles

Shabbir Ali Khan 30 November 09

You can wear a hijjab and be young. Do not worry about the obstacles. Put your trust in Allah (swt)

Every day we are out & about in this world doing what we
have to do, but did any of us think about Allah? Read fajr or Yaseen in
the morning? Have we ever wondered what we are doing wrong? No we havent,
why? Because its ok, no big deal we can make up for it some time?

No my dear respected brothers and sisters; we have to dosomething about ourselves.

Lets look at the girls of today, not all, but many of them, they go out to
school college work or wherever: no scarf on the head, clothes so tight you
can see their whole body, dressed half naked. Now lets look at the reason.

Well its for attention, they want to be attractive, want all the guys to
look at them and think that theyre very pretty and they think theyll get very far in life like that and as I said, theyre just getting Allah angry
and shaitan happy.

Ask a sister to wear a scarf she’ll say no Im
still to young Ill wear one when Im older or when I get married,
well whats the point of wearing it then and not now? Who
knows if youll even live till tomorrow?

Now lets look at the boys, well theres to much to say Im
one my self and I know what goes on: dressed up like the kuffar, trousers
hanging below the ankles when really theyre just asking for
their ankles to be burnt in hell. Hair spiked up, beards shaved off,
flashing their jewellery.

U ask them why, oh well if I dress as a Muslim
then no one will like me, theyll say Im a Sufi I
have to look good for the girls wanna take one out for dinner tonightâ€
but in reality they are making Allah angry and shaitan more happy.

WHATS THE POINT? My dear respected brothers and sisters, I am only 19 Ive seen a lot in my life and Ive also regretted a lot, Ive been through so
much and Ive realised its all a waste.

Today we dont wake up for fajr because weve been to busy chatting
away on the phone committing ZINAH all night. We miss all the
Salah in the day then lie to our parents saying weve prayed and
they believe us. How much do we disrespect our parents, raise our voices over them, swear at them, tell them what to do, talk behind
there backs, the list goes on. Its time we think from the bottom
of our hearts and not the hearts of our bottoms!

What is the point having girl friends and boyfriends when Allah
has chosen our life partners already? It a waste of time and money. We
take each other out, spend like were millionaires and
get dumped the next day with no money in our pocket. And even
then we do not learn and we start this game again with someone else,

WHY?
WHY make Allah angry and shaitan happy, what is the point?
Trust me think of Allah and fear Allah, wear a scarf, dress like
Muslims, dont embarrass the Muslim ummah and watch how Allah will
repay you and grant you what you wish for.

Please for the sake of Allah let us quit all the wrong things and all the girl and boy thing, lets get our
lives straight, lets read 5 times Salah and Quran, let us be responsible and
not waste ours and our parents money, lets all
stop running after the dunya like the kuffar and lets prepare for the akhira so we can build our houses in jannah instead of lighting our fire in hell.

Please understand. I am no perfect guy and this is no lecture but its just
some useful advice. For those who think its rubbish
thats up to you but Ive done my farz in telling you all.

LETS ALL MAKE ALLAH HAPPY AND SHAITAN ANGRY FOR A CHANGE
I request all brothers and sisters to pass this on to as many people as we can and remember me in you duas wassalam

London’s Islam Channel satellite television station has started a new women’s life- styl

London’s Islam Channel satellite television station has started a new women’s life- style show. In this programme Muslim women from a variety of backgrounds get together and chat about issues of being a Muslim woman in today’s world. Elizabeth Leonard is on the panel of City Sisters and she thoroughly enjoys the open discussions and positive feedback the show has had. Leonard said, “I think this programme is helping people in the UK to learn about many aspects of Islam and Muslims.”

Leonard accepted Islam just three years ago. She said that she made this all-important change through the support and encouragement of her husband. She said, “He is a born Muslim but he was not practising when I first met him.”

Despite this he used to give Leonard information and encouraged her to ask questions and understand more about the religion.

“The strange thing is,” noted Leonard, “that the more he was talking to me about Islam, the closer he got to it himself! He would give me snippets of information and I just kept having more and more questions. This meant he had to find the answers for me!”

Husband and wife ended up encouraging each other to learn and practise Islam step by step. By the time Leonard was ready to formally accept Islam, her husband had started practising it properly himself. They made the final step together. Since her conversion, they have agreed that it is important to concentrate on meeting more Muslims and are continually encouraging each other to learn more and do more.

What were the first things that impressed her about Islam? Leonard noted, “I come from a non-religious background, so the practical side of Islam attracted me; especially the social and economic structure of the religion as well as the treatment of women.”

Leonard had found that in Christianity there are no real female role models whereas in Islam the roles of men and women are clearly defined and women are not only acknowledged, but honoured. This was significant for her.

When she first converted to Islam, her family was bemused and did not know what to make of it because theirs was not a religious household. Leonard remembers that they had a lot of questions. “At first they thought I was just going through a phase and they gave me a few months. They really thought I would change back to my old ways,” remembered Leonard, “but soon it became evident that it was a life style choice and would last forever.” Finally, Leonard’s family took her choice to accept Islam seriously and have been very supportive ever since.

Her advice to new Muslims in the early stages of their conversion is that they should surround themselves with knowledgeable people who will encourage them to be better. She remembers that the early days, after first converting, are very difficult and that there is a lot of pressure from family and friends but she noted that things do get better and persistence is necessary. “Do not underestimate the importance of having people around you who can advise and support you and try to gain knowledge so that when people ask you questions you will be able to answer well and feel comfortable with what you say,” advised Leonard.

For the first six months after her conversion she was occupied with carving out an identity for herself. Leonard said, “I am an English Muslim woman! There is a definite role for us here in England. I believe it is very much about interacting with people. We dress differently and so on but there is still common ground between us and non-Muslims. Everyone is concerned about things like the crime rate and education, so meeting with people from different backgrounds, and letting them know we share many things in common is the starting point for living Islam and spreading it too! I honestly believe that my work with City Sisters is part of that effort.”

It was Grey Cup weekend, and the Saskatchewan Roughriders suffered a pretty devastating loss. On the upside (if there is such a thing in Rider Nation), the Globe and Mail carried two interesting stories about diversity in sports.

The first looks at the increasing acceptance of gay and lesbian athletes, while the second examines the growing presence of immigrant and minorities in Canadian football (of the pigskin variety, of course). Both articles provide a bit of hope that established institutions can adapt to — and even accept — diversity in their midst. Given the centrality of sports in popular culture and the lives of young people, this is good news.

It is also particularly heartening in light of the 2007 controversy over the wearing of the hijab in soccer and taekwondo, incidents that were among the catalysts behind Quebec’s commission on reasonable accommodation. Not wanting to see Muslim girls excluded from athletics, a Quebec designer recently released the Resport, a sport hijab that is intended to comply with the uniform regulations of various sporting federations. A single piece of fabric, it is in some ways symbolic of the quiet evolution of Canadian sports. Granted, the debate over the hijab is far from resolved, but small steps toward inclusion and accommodation should most definitely be applauded.

min⋅a⋅ret

–noun a lofty, often slender, tower or turret attached to a mosque, surrounded by or furnished with one or more balconies, from which the muezzin calls the people to prayer.

(from Dictionary.com)

———————————————————————————————————————————————–

On the 29th of November, Switzerland voted to ban the new construction of minarets. The Swiss People’s Party (SVP) has put forth this proposal, claiming that minarets are a symbol of “Islamisation.”

57% of the votes and 22 out of 26 provinces voted in favour of the ban. The government has opposed the ban in the preset that it would harm Switzerland’s image, especially in the Muslim world.

Martin Baltisser, the SVP’s general secretary said, “This was a vote against minarets as symbols of Islamic power.” This vote is believed to stop the threat of radical fundamentalism.

Islam is the second biggest religion in Switzerland after Christianity, with 400, 000 Muslim citizens and there are only four minarets in the whole country. Proposals to build more minarets are almost always refused.

Supporters believe that the minaret is a symbol of Islamic power and hope to stop the growth of Sharia Law which may try to supplement Swiss democracy.

Many believe that this campaign has been incited by hatred. Amnesty International has said that the vote violated freedom of religion.

Elham Manea, co-founder of the Forum for a Progressive Islam said this about what the vote represents towards Muslims, “It’s a message that you are not welcome here as true citizens of this society.”

‘Despicable’

I find this vote to be absolutely absurd and definitely incited by hatred towards Islam and its followers. Minarets a symbol of Islamic power? That’s the most the hilarious thing I’ve heard since a man said that America won the Vietnam war.

As a Muslim, I can clearly say that minarets are not a symbol of Islamic power. And building more does not mean that there is “Islamisation” going on. Are the Swiss really that idiotic?

Clearly, this vote is nothing but hatred against Muslims, saying that they do not belong anywhere in Europe. This violates freedom of religion!

Churches can have all sorts of stained glass and towers, but mosques cannot have even the smallest minaret? If this is not hatred towards Islam then what is it?

Europe is fearing something that does not exist, Islam is not trying to take over. Muslims are just trying to practice their religion as is decreed by the Qur’an. Yes, there is radical fundamentalism going on, but it is by the smallest amount of radicals that shouldn’t be feared.

If minarets are banned first, then Hijabs will be banned, soon the sale and purchase of Qur’ans will be banned, and then what next? Muslims will be banned from travelling to Europe altogether?

If creating such laws and banning freedoms continues like this, then obviously radical fundamentalism will be on the rise. There is no doubt that more extremism will continue.

Switzerland and Europe had created an extreme of its own, and radical Muslims are using their own form of extremism to combat the first. It’s like fighting fire with fire.

I only hope that this ban is appealed before “Islamophobia” is dramatically rises ever more.

Faisal, 52, a Palestinian pilgrim from Israel, said he was praying for «all Muslims to be unified soon to liberate Al-Aqsa and Palestine».

My comment:

There are secular Muslim all over the World, but they are not the rulers in Mecca and Tehran.

The US Administration tries to convince it self that they are working for peace together with the «moderate Muslims» in Saudi Arabia.

Think again. There are no moderate Muslims in the Kingdoms of Islam. All Arabs who believe that Muhammad gave a true revelation from God in the Koran, is committed to kill all the infidels.

Thats not only the Jewish people, but all mankind that do not submit to Islam and «Allah».

The capture of Jerusalem and the destruction of the Jewish state of Israel is only one step on the way to London and Washington.

Welcome to the age of the evil age of the Global intifada.

Who can save us on the Day of Judgement?

Narrated Abu Huraira:

We were in the company of the Prophet at a banquet and a cooked (mutton) forearm was set before him, and he used to like it.

He ate a morsel of it and said,

“I will be the chief of all the people on the Day of Resurrection. Do you know how Allah will gather all the first and the last (people) in one level place where an observer will be able to see (all) of them and they will be able to hear the announcer, and the sun will come near to them.

Some People will say: Don’t you see, in what condition you are and the state to which you have reached? Why don’t you look for a person who can intercede for you with your Lord?

Some people will say: Appeal to your father, Adam.’

They will go to him and say:

‘O Adam! You are the father of all mankind, and Allah created you with His Own Hands, and ordered the angels to prostrate for you, and made you live in Paradise. Will you not intercede for us with your Lord? Don’t you see in what (miserable) state we are, and to what condition we have reached?’

On that Adam will reply, ‘My Lord is so angry as He has never been before and will never be in the future; (besides), He forbade me (to eat from) the tree, but I disobeyed (Him), (I am worried about) myself! Myself! Go to somebody else; go to Noah.’

They will go to Noah and say; ‘O Noah! You are the first amongst the messengers of Allah to the people of the earth, and Allah named you a thankful slave. Don’t you see in what a (miserable) state we are and to what condition we have reached? Will you not intercede for us with your Lord?

Noah will reply: ‘Today my Lord has become so angry as he had never been before and will never be in the future Myself! Myself!

Go to the Prophet Muhammad(pbuh).

The people will come to me, and I will prostrate myself underneath Allah’s Throne.

Then I will be addressed:

‘O Muhammad! Raise your head; intercede, for your intercession will be accepted, and ask (for anything). for you will be given. “

The reasoning was that the government was fearful that Muslims were going to take over the religious atmosphere in Switzerland. The Muslim population only consists of 6% of Switzerland.

This is extremely disgusting act against human rights and freedom of Religion. It would be akin to banning Church Crosses, the Star of David, or any religious symbol out of discrimination and fear. I hope that the Swiss population and surrounding European countries push against this blatant act against religious freedom.

Saudi floods kill 77 while Muslims perform hajj Article: Yahoo!News Muslim pilgrims holding white um

Saudi floods kill 77 while Muslims perform hajj
Article: Yahoo!News

Muslim pilgrims holding white umbrellas against the blazing sun clambered up a rocky desert hill for prayers Thursday during the annual hajj, a day after torrential rains that killed at least 77 people.

Flooding from the unusually heavy downpours hit hardest in the Red Sea coastal city of Jiddah, about 40 miles (60 kilometers) away from the holy city of Mecca and its surrounding sacred sites where the 3 million Muslims from around the world were performing the rites of the pilgrimage.

Most of the deaths occurred in the shantytowns around Jiddah and along the main highway to Mecca, populated by poorer, foreign immigrants who work in the city as drivers, construction workers and domestic help. Streets were swamped with water, some houses collapsed and mudslides took place, Civil Defense officials said.

It did not immediately appear that any pilgrims were among the dead. Jiddah’s civil defense chief Capt. Abdullah al-Amri said 21 of the victims were identified as Saudis and the rest were believed to be residents of Saudi Arabia.

Wednesday’s downpours snarled the opening day of the hajj, drenching pilgrims and knocking out roads that caused epic traffic jams as the faithful tried to make their way to the holy sites. The rains, if they continue as meteorologists predict, could raise safety hazards — particularly the perennial danger of deadly stampedes, since a trip-up on slippery walkways could lead to people getting trampled in crowds.

But skies cleared for most of Thursday, and the heat rose. The umbrellas that protected pilgrims from the rain now were shades from the hot sun as they conducted their rituals in the desert plateau of Mount Arafat, about 12 miles (20 kilometers) east of Mecca.

The site is where Islam’s Prophet Muhammad delivered his farewell sermon. The huge crowds of faithful climbed up the Mountain of Mercy, a rocky hill at Arafat, and prayed for God’s forgiveness of their sins in what Muslims consider the spiritual high point of the pilgrimage.

Dear God allah, PLZ FORGIV US OF OUR SINZ! WE R GUD PPL! LULZ.

Mohammed Ismail, a 51-year-old Syria who has lived the Saudi capital for the past 15 years, brought his wife and two young sons for the hajj, and Wednesday night they slept in their car at Arafat before performing the rites.

“You can’t really describe the feeling of being at hajj and being so close to so many Muslims. It’s so happy,” he said, sitting on a straw mat by the roadside with his family, eating oranges. “The heat and the crowds can be difficult, but hajj is a difficulty, it’s not supposed to be easy.”

At the Mountain of Mercy, men in the white robes that males are required to wear and women in headscarves called out in prayer, and some prostrated at the foot of the mountain. In the tent city around the site, tired families took shelter in the shade of cars and buses or napped.

In the evening, the vast sea of people headed toward the next stage of the pilgrimage, the nearby plains of Muzdalifah. Tens of thousands of buses, SUVs, and cars jammed the road, while flocks of pilgrims walked across the barren landscape, carrying their belongings.

At Muzdalifah, the faithful pick stones to use in the ritual that begins Friday, the symbolic stoning of the devil. At the nearby valley of Mina, they pelt stones at three walls representing Satan in a rejection of temptation.

The first day of stoning also marks the start of the Islamic holiday of Eid al-Adha, or feast of sacrifice, when Muslims around the world slaughter sheep and cattle in remembrance of Abraham’s near-sacrifice of his son. The stoning lasts three days until the end of hajj on Sunday.

Saudi Arabia’s biggest worry for months ahead of the hajj has been swine flu. The pilgrimage is one of the most crowded events in the world, with masses of Muslims from every corner of the globe packed shoulder to shoulder in prayers and rites — a perfect incubator for the virus, according to epidemiologists.

The Saudi government has been working with the United States’ Centers for Disease Control and Prevention to set up clinics and take precautions to stem any outbreak.

The rains came as an added difficulty.

It often rains in Mecca and Jiddah during the winter months, but Wednesday’s downpour was the heaviest in years during the hajj. Jiddah was swamped with 2.76 inches (7 centimeters) of rain, more than it would normally get in an entire year, according to Dale Mohler, senior meteorologist at the Web site AccuWeather.com.

I would like to second Larison’s post today criticizing Thomas Friedman. Key quotes….. Y

I would like to second Larison’s post today criticizing Thomas Friedman. Key quotes…..

Yes, after two decades in which U.S. foreign policy has been largely dedicated to rescuing Muslims or trying to help free them from tyranny— in Bosnia, Darfur, Kuwait, Somalia, Lebanon, Kurdistan, post-earthquake Pakistan, post-tsunami Indonesia, Iraq and Afghanistan — a narrative that says America is dedicated to keeping Muslims down is thriving. ~Thomas Friedman……

One of the most irritating things I have noticed during the last decade has been the whining from American pundits about how ungrateful the world’s Muslims have been in response to our alleged beneficence on their behalf. The grimly amusing part of this is that the whining pundits accept the assumptions of pan-Islamists, but put them to different, limited use: Muslims everywhere must feel gratitude for any assistance we have ever rendered to a Muslim population…..

U.S. foreign policy has not been “largely dedicated to rescuing Muslims or trying to help free them from tyranny.” U.S. foreign policy has worked to support the causes of certain Muslim groups, provided they had the “right” enemies (i.e., states that we already opposed or disliked), and to undermine the causes of other Muslim groups that had the “wrong” enemies. (Emphasis mine.) The same people who could not rush to the aid of Bosniaks and Albanian Muslims fast enough are perfectly content to see thousands and tens of thousands of Arabs killed by U.S. and U.S.-backed forces. The people who pretend to weep for Chechnya do not even blink at the displacement of entire provinces in Pakistan. The would-be champions of democracy in the Islamic world have happily embraced anti-jihadi dictators in Uzkbekistan and Pakistan as necessary. My point here is not that Washington was right or wrong in backing one group and opposing another, which is an argument for another day, but simply that it would not be hard for Muslims around the world to notice the far more devastating effects of U.S. and U.S.-allied hostility to certain Muslim causes more than they notice the relatively more obscure cases in which Washington backed Muslim causes.

The history of the Middle East is long and complex. Much of it is unclear and subject to much interpretation. That said, trying to make the case that the U.S. has largely been trying to help Muslims of late is difficult to support. It also ignores what went before, when the Middle East was mostly a place for our proxy wars with the USSR over oil. Once again, who trained Osama and his mujahadeen? Who paid for their weapons? Maybe we need to require a history course for those who want to serve as experts on the Middle East?

More ancient history aside, did we really go into Afghanistan to help Muslims? Not how I remember it. Iraq? We channeled money to Saddam when he was fighting Iran. Which was roughly the same time he was killing his own people also. How many people Iraq think we came to help them? How many think we did? What are the results of all this help? Thousands killed and displaced. Yes, our efforts were well intended in some of those other places. Some went beyond good intentions and actually provided help. Looking at the total picture, Larison gets it right. We act in our own interests. Sometimes Muslims have benefitted. More often, they have not.

It seems an opportune time to rid my brain case of a few puzzling thoughts. Ain’t you glad you stopped by?

I want to ask all those who oppose trying the Gitmo detainees in American civilian courts if they have ever read the Declaration of Independence? I mean, given the fine patriots you all claim to be, I would think it would be something you read regularly at your patriotic meetings. Am I wrong?

There are lots of reasons why the right wingers don’t want the prisoners tried in open American courts. Mostly to keep the dirty laundry in the hamper I believe. Don’t want to let those Muslims use courtrooms as soap boxes to spout their rhetoric and at the same time, report all the sordid things done to them do we?

The one that is utterly ironic to me is the argument, that “they aren’t American and thus not entitled to our rights.” This is where the Declaration comes it. I believe somewhere in that document is says or words to the effect,

All men are created equal and are endowed by their creator with certain inalienable rights, . . . .

Does this mean what I think it means? All as in A L L? Didn’t one Georgie Dubya Bush talk about how it was our Christian duty to export democracy around the world and so that everyone had the wonderful rights we have? Hows come, the flip folks? No what goes around comes around? Enlighten me please.

I want to ask creationists what research they have done that proves their thesis that the earth was created by God around 6,500 (+/-) years ago? I mean scientists do science and offer their results to the world for examination and retesting. For reformulation, rehypothesizing, and new testing. What creationist has done any research at all?

It seems, as has been said by others, that they simply mine the data field, picking and choosing here and there, and then making up arguments without proofs of any kind. You’re beliefs are not testable propositions. Show us the research that proves your claims. Dare ya.

And don’t give me that bull that you aren’t required to be both a creationist and a young earth proponent. Course you are. If you believe in Genesis, creation story one, they you believe the earth is flat. That’s what the text alludes to. Are ya not smart enough to see that?

But of course, you probably aren’t smart enough, cuz if you were, you wouldn’t be a creationist in the first place. It’s why you believe that Stephen Colbert is a conservative too. You don’t have much grasp on the concept of irony do ya? Enlighten me.

I want to ask those ad men and women, just where in the H2O you came from? Why do you continue to run ads that are offensive and counter productive to your presumed cause?

Case in point. There is a ad for a toilet. Yeah, I know, who needs a commercial for THAT in the first place. But watch. The married dude sees a sexy “plumber” and then tries to sabotage his toilet by throwing all manner of crap down it, just so as how he can call the plumber and ogle her I guess. In walks the wifey as he is pouring dog food down the john. This is supposed to entice me to purchase your product?

Or this one: Levi Johnson talking about being protected or something. And then a wise guy banging another’s head onto a table to crack a nut. This to sell pistachios. This is neither humorous nor tells me anything I want to know about nuts. Except that you are one. And the idiot who decided to pay you for this is even more of one. Enlighten me.

I want to ask the media just how long ago it was that they started offering a course in “how to phone it in” at all our major schools of journalism? What you claim as journalism is sophomoric to say the least. Bloggers are making you look silly dudes.

We don’t mean Foxy of course. They are not lazy, they lie on purpose. They have an agenda, and lucky them, a following composed of atrophied brains so useless that said watchers cannot tell the difference between fact and fiction in the first, second and third place.

No, I’m talking about the insipid drivel that passes for journalism virtually everywhere. Every news cycle is dominated by more non-news that news. Tiger had an accident. It may be all innocent, or it may have a lot to do with a marriage gone sour. I don’t know, I don’t care, I don’t have any business knowing. Some celeb wannabe’s crashed the White House gig. Who they are? I don’t care, I don’t CARE!

Same for Letterman, and Oprah, and that Mackenzie had sex with daddy, and that Mike Tyson has grown up, and that Whitney has seen the light. I don’t care. I don’t care. When will you people get that I don’t care? Sigh.

I do care that 1 in 6 people today is applying for food stamps. I do care that our health care system is an immoral morass that caters to those with sufficient income. I do care that the climate is going to hell in a hand basket and nobody is doing much about it. I care you see about what real people are suffering through. I don’t give a rat’s bottom what rich people are “suffering” through mostly through their own stupidity and arrogance.

Can you all get that? I want to ask somebody, anybody. And while your at it, when you have nothing better to do, then at least promote things that are worthy of real consideration. Like this fine piece:

A site called Eternal Earth-Bound Pets, makes the following claims:

You’ve committed your life to Jesus. You know you’re saved. But when the Rapture comes what’s to become of your loving pets who are left behind? Eternal Earth-Bound Pets takes that burden off your mind.

We are a group of dedicated animal lovers, and atheists. Each
Eternal Earth-Bound Pet representative is a confirmed atheist, and as such will still be here on Earth after you’ve received your reward. Our network of animal activists are committed to step in when you step up to Jesus.

It seems right up the alley of those aforementioned brain leakers. They have so far had 100 takers and operate in 22 states. I guess, I should have something I want to ask them too, but I’ll have to think a while on this one.

The quality of our success as social beings depends on our capacity to develop the magnetic power of caring enough and reflecting that care in our daily life in three important ways.

We should have:

a positive attitude

thoughtful words

appropriate behaviour

Designing One’s Personality

Our lives are continually being shaped by the choices we make and the convictions and values that underlie them. In this sense, our lives are like works of art in progress.

We focus on wearing designer clothes, but do we focus on designing our personality? We can take the material of life and either react to it in a passive way; always remaining life’s victim, or take it and use it creatively, becoming the architect of one’s life and a full participant in shaping one’s destiny and in designing one’s true personality.

Personality, Character and Reputation

Personality is the combination of thoughts, emotions and actions that make each individual unique. Personality is linked to character and reputation.

Reputation is what you lead others to believe you are; while character is what you really are.

Reputation may be reflected in the combination of your name and your image; while character is the essence of your being.

Reputation is the wrapping; while character is the content.

Reputation is the outer reflection; while character is the inner reality.

Reputation is made in a moment; while character is built in a lifetime.

Reputation may be reflected in what people write about you on your tombstone; while character is what angels report about you to Almighty Allah.

The Art of Navigating the Road of Life

1. In navigating the road of life, do not to be a victim of what happens to you; but rather to be an architect of the road and do your best to make things happen.

Reflect on the admonition of the Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) “As you do, so shall you be rewarded. ” (Authenticated by Al-Albani)

2. Do not be of those who end up saying … I should have, I could have, I would have, I must have …. but didn’t.

3. The art of positive thinking is to realize that life is a roller coaster ride with ups and downs, and to focus on the positive rather than the negative.

In correcting others, the aim is not to appear better than others but in bringing out the best in yourself and to facilitate bringing out the best in others.

Remember;

to a sick man sweet water tastes bitter,

not because there is a problem with the water,

but because of the sickness of the man . [Al-Mutanabbi; the poet]

4. Positive thinkers have a winning attitude; though they recognize their limitations, they focus on their strengths.

5. The art of being YOU-nique is not in how you appear, but rather in letting what you do and how you do it be a reflection of what and who you are. You are the only “you” that there is; no one can think with your mind, speak with your voice and smile with your face, cry with your tears or act with your body, but you. So be the best ‘YOU’ that you can be, for only you are accountable for yourself and you only get what you strive for.

6. The art of problem-solving lies in your attitude and approach to problems. Think positively! Often, the problem lies in how we look at things.

Pessimism is part of bad character.

7. Learn to deal with difficulty without accepting failure, tackling challenges without feeling defeated, recognizing error without repeating mistakes, and facing disappointments without being discouraged.

So, when life serves you lemons; don’t be sour … make lemonade.

8. The art of speaking is not in the volume of words / sound but rather in the truthfulness and wisdom of the content. Speech is a projection of thoughts and emotions; the content of speech reflects the culture of the heart, so consider carefully how you feel about others, why you feel the way you feel and what you say about people.

Prophet Muhammad (peace and blessings be upon him) said: “None of your faith is correct unless your heart is upright and your heart will not be rectified until your tongue is in order.”(Authenticated by Al-Albani) And, that is why Almighty Allah states in the Qur’an,

(O you who believe! be careful of(your duty to) Allah and speak the right word, He will put your deeds into a right state for you, and forgive you your faults.) (Al-Ahzab 33: 70)

9. The art of criticism lies not in succeeding to find faults, but in finding a means whereby the fault is realized and corrected. In his book entitledCommanding the Right and Forbidding the Wrong in Islamic Thought, Dr Michael Cook writes,

What kind of duty do we have to try and stop people doing wrong? The question is intelligible in just about every culture, but few of them seek to answer it in a rigorous fashion. The most striking exception is found in the Islamic tradition, where ‘commanding right and forbidding wrong’ is a central moral tenet mentioned in the Qura’n.

10. In correcting others, the aim is not to appear better than others but in bringing out the best in yourself and to facilitate bringing out the best in others; to commit yourself to be of benefit to the world.

11. Occupy yourself with so much striving to improve yourself that you have less time to criticize others. Almighty Allah says,

(O ye who believe! Let not a folk deride a folk who may be better than they (are), not let women (deride) women who may be better than they are; neither defame one another, nor insult one another by nicknames. Bad is the name of lewdness after faith. And whoso turneth not in repentance, such are evil-doers.O ye who believe! Shun much suspicion; for lo! some suspicion is a crime.
More fact than fiction?? These Islamic nutjobs are as resourceful as Wiley Coyote chasing Roadrunner. Just more despicable because there are no bounds as to where they will sink to terrorize, destroy and murder. Obumble and his crowd act like it’s a board game and want to make up rules to give them an equal advantage therefore limiting our ability to defend ourselves. WTF.

We see what we choose to see. Our fears drive us to seclusion. You cannot call yourself a Christian and then hide in church. You cannot call yourself a Muslim and then hide inside a mosque. You cannot call yourself a Jew and then hide in a synagogue. We cannot be close to God/Allah and then build walls that separate us from all others. We cannot be close to God/Allah and then call ourselves the chosen. God is at your doorstep, would you turn him away?

“Muslims who want to live under Islamic Sharia law were told on Wednesday to get out of Australia, as the government targeted radicals in a bid to head off potential terror attacks.

Separately, Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spy agencies monitoring the nation’s mosques.

Quote: ‘IMMIGRANTS, NOT AUSTRALIANS, MUST ADAPT. Take It Or Leave It. I am tired of this nation worrying about whether we are offending some individual or their culture. Since the terrorist attacks on Bali , we have experienced a surge in patriotism by the majority of Australians.’

‘This culture has been developed over two centuries of struggles, trials and victories by millions of men and women who have sought freedom. We speak mainly ENGLISH, not Spanish, Lebanese, Arabic, Chinese, Japanese, Russian, or any other language. Therefore, if you wish to become part of our society, Learn the Language!’

‘Most Australians believe in God. This is not some Christian, right wing, political push, but a fact, because Christian men and women, on Christian principles, founded this nation, and this is clearly documented. It is certainly appropriate to display it on the walls of our schools. If God offends you, then I suggest you consider another part of the world as your new home, because God is part of our culture.’

‘We will accept your beliefs, and will not question why. All we ask is that you accept ours, and live in harmony and peaceful enjoyment with us.’

‘This is OUR COUNTRY, OUR LAND, and OUR LIFESTYLE, and we will allow you every opportunity to enjoy all this. But once you are done complaining, whining, and griping about Our Flag, Our Pledge, Our Christian beliefs, or Our Way of Life, I highly encourage you take advantage of one other great Australian freedom, THE RIGHT TO LEAVE.’

‘If you aren’t happy here then LEAVE. We didn’t force you to come here. You asked to be here. So accept the country YOU accepted.’
Maybe if we circulate this , American citizens will find the backbone to start speaking and voicing the same truths.

Prime Minister John Howard angered some Australian Muslims on Wednesday by saying he supported spies monitoring the nation’s mosques.

A day after holding a summit with 13 moderate Australian Islamic leaders, Howard said the government had a right to know if parts of the Islamic community supported or preached violence, and he favoured infiltration of mosques and schools if needed.

Tuesday’s summit agreed to examine the training of imams and what is taught in Islamic schools as part of a crackdown on the propagation of extremist views in the name of Islam.

The situation in the Middle East now is nothing short of heartbreaking. The sense of optimism and hope that was clearly present in April and which I experienced, and might I say to demonstrate my understanding of how very committed to the peace process, not only the people of Israel but also the Jewish community here in Australia, I remember announcing for the first time on Melbourne radio that I would when visiting Israel, go and see the Chairman of the Palestinian Council, having previously been unwilling to invite him to visit Australia because I did not believe the peace process had advanced far enough. I was questioned about the wisdom, or perhaps the consistency of that decision and I responded to the interviewer to the effect that circumstances had changed and it was in the interests of the peace process that all of those who were friends and staunch allies of Israel, as well as acknowledging the legitimate aspirations of the people, the Palestinian people to have their independence, that we should all get together and do what we could to encourage the peace process. And I was greatly encouraged to know that later in the day I think both Mark Liebler and Colin Rubinstein rang the station to express support for the decision that I had taken. That demonstrated the passionate desire of the Jewish people of Australia as well as the desire of so many around the world to see the peace process succeed.

I was encouraged to go to visit Yasser Arafat. I was encouraged by the Government of Israel. I was accompanied on that visit by members of the Australian Jewish community. I still have a photograph of the Chairman, Isi Liebler and myself. It was a reminder of how close in a sense the world had got to achieving an absolutely wonderful breakthrough. And to see that now in great peril is of course tragic and heartbreaking to so many people.

But as Mark said we must not surrender hope because when you surrender hope than you are ultimately of course giving in to those who don’t ever want to see peace. I don’t believe any Prime Minister of Israel could have offered more than did Ehud Barak at Camp David. As Mark said he went 90% of the way in relation to territory and he was agreeable to joint suzerainty in relation to Jerusalem. It was an offer that should have been accepted and it is tragic in the extreme that it has not been accepted. But we must all of us who remain staunch and reliable friends and allies of Israel, we must all of us continue in our different ways to encourage diplomatically and otherwise the resumed move towards peace. In the end I believe there is a deep desire, certainly in the hearts of the people of Israel and I believe also in many Palestinian hearts for peace. That is what I find as I move amongst the different communities here in Australia. People are tired of the killing, they are tired of the terror, they are tired of the insecurity and they want a brighter future for their children. I believe Barak displayed very great courage and he should be encouraged for the efforts that he has so far displayed.

The stead fast blinkers on attitude of so called moderate and secular Muslims should own up responsibility for having allowed things to come to such a pass because of their refusal to rein in their terrorist brethren. One shudders to think of the clash of Christian world and the Muslim world, which unfortunately the current situation is heading for.
Story:
Swiss voters have supported a referendum proposal to ban the building of minarets, official results show.
More than 57% of voters from 26 cantons – or provinces – voted in favour of the ban, Swiss news agency ATS reported.
The proposal had been put forward by the Swiss People’s Party, (SVP), the largest party in parliament, which says minarets are a sign of Islamisation.
Opponents say a ban would amount to discrimination and that the ballot has stirred hatred.
The BBC’s Imogen Foulkes, in Bern, says the surprise result is very bad news for the Swiss government which had urged voters to reject a ban on minarets, fearing unrest among the Muslim community and damage to Switzerland’s relations with Islamic countries.
Switzerland is home to some 400,000 Muslims and has just four minarets.

The move — led by the Swiss People’s Party, which has campaigned in previous years against immigrants — has stirred fears of boycotts and violent reactions from Muslim countries. > more.
