I  love scarfs. I’m not sure if its because I like to add a little fun to my clothes with one, or because I’m constantly freezing cold but regardless I love them. The circle scarf is no exception.

I love the simplicity of the design, and also there is no real fussing around with it. You jusy put it on and go!

Wow! TUNELE, oh my God, oh my God, oh my God! A fost SUPER!!! Gata, incetez; ma comport irational si totusi… A fost atat de tareeee! Imi vine sa sar in sus si in jos si sa tip: aaaaaaa! OK, am inteles, nu mai strigati, incetez.

Deci dupa ce am inceput serios sa citesc aceasta carte (adica in ultimele doua zile, pentru ca inainte tot eram intrerupt) nu m-am mai  putut opri. Cred ca aratam mai rau decat o persoana care tocmai isi injectase o doza serioasa de hasis. De fapt citesc de seara trecuta de la ora 6:00. Noaptea precedenta nu cred ca am dormit mai mult de jumatate de ora. M-am oprit din lectura la ora 4:00 dimineata si apoi am incercat sa adorm: inutil! Ma tot gandeam la Will, la Chester, la Styx si Dominion si la cele doua Rebecca (personajele mele favorite). Dupa ce timp de o ora m-am intors de pe o parte pe alta reusind sa adorm doar cateva minute, am aprins lumina, am luat cartea si mi-am continuat administrarea de narcotice … Asta pana la ora 8:00 cand tata s-a trezit si a venit pana in camera mea. M-am prefacut ca dorm. Dupa ce a plecat mi-am reluat lectura. Oricum, gata cu asta. Sa va spun mai bine despre carte.

Primul lucru care este observat la TUNELE 3 este complexitatea. Cu toate acestea nu pot spune ca aceasta se deosebeste prea mult de cea din volumul doi al seriei. Poate ca doar spre final se vede ca totul devine putin mai greu de inteles.

Personajele sunt exceptional conturate, in special cele doua Rebecca, care au un rol din ce in ce mai important in actiunea cartii. Apar si personaje noi si, lucrul care mi-a placut cel mai mult, este schmbarea atitudinii unui personaj care devine uluitor de puternic. Nu ma credeti? Atunci imaginativa o persoana care rezista un timp uluitor de indelungat Luminii Intunecate. Ei, acum ce mai ziceti?

Actiunea este… pe putin spus surprinzatoare. Intamplarile devin tot mai profunde, mai adanci, atat la propriu cat si la figurat si in sfarsit aflam despre ce este vorba in legatura cu conceptul “Gradinii celui de-al doilea Soare”. Si credeti-ma, e uimitor!

Se lucreaza pe doua planuri, autorii (o sa spun imediat ceva legat de asta) bazandu-se pe jocul psihologic care trece de limitele obisnuite intalnite in romane. Totul este atat de intens incat te face sa-ti pierzi capul.

Legat de ce carte o sa incep in continuare, exista doua varinate: ori incep CIRCUL FANTASIA, ori nu mai incep nimic si ma ocup de scris la propriile proiecte. Stiu, am zis ca incep SFIDAREA, dar inca nu am primit-o. Si sincer ma bucura lucrul acesta! De ce? Pai pentru ca orice carte as citi dupa TUNELE 3 mi s-ar parea cu siguranta insignifianta ca valoare… cred ca exceptie face seria HARRY POTTER Si nu are rost sa stric o lectura la o carte buna ca SFIDAREA. De fapt chiar sper sa nu o primesc in curand pentru ca sunt sigur ca voi ceda tentatiei de a o citi si o voi desconsidera. Nu cred ca o sa scap de mania cu IN CADERE LIBERA in urmatoarele saptamani.

Mai sus am promis ca o sa spun ceva despre autori. Ei bine, uitati despre ce e vorba. In urma recenziei lui Doru mi-a revenit in gand pagina de copyright pe care o vazusem inainte sa ma apuc de lectura si in care scria ca drepturile pentru text ii apartin exclusiv lui RODERICK GORDON. Doru explica: RODERICK a scris totul, in timp ce BRIAN a venit cu ideile. Acum va intreb: cum sa poata sa fie scrisa o carte fara idei?!! M-am enervat rau de tot cand am vazut pagina aceea pentru motivul ca stiu ca randurile se pot asterne foarte usor pe hartie (daca nu ai probleme cu gramatica) atunci cand ai subiectul! Dar acesta-i un lucru greu de obtinut. Si nu vorbesc prostii, ci va spun din propria experienta. Atunci cand mi s-a propus sa scriu in colaborare am acceptat fara ezitare, iar partenerul mi-a spus ideea ce s-a dovedit a fi GENIALA! Eu nu as fi reusit sa ma gandesc la asa ceva; prin urmare rezulta ca intr-un parteneriat exista egalitate, adica ambii scriitori participa in mod egal la construirea universului fictional. Desi, daca privesti totul dintr-un alt punct de vedere, iti trebuie talent pentru a scrie, chiar si cu ideile altcuiva. Multumesc Shauki pentru ca m-ai facut sa inteleg asta! Gata, ma opresc… oricum tema este mult prea vasta pentru a putea fi discutata in acest articol.

Si acum, revenind la subiect, cartea este EXCEPTIONALA, SUPERBA… no more words! Cititi si convingeti-va!

Le come back des cuissardes : good news or bad news??

Tout le monde l’aura compris : cet hiver les cuissardes ont fait leur come back, c’est le must have pour aborder le grand froid 09/10. Je dois admettre que lorsque j’ai vu cette new trend je n’étais pas fan, les cuissardes c’est du déjà vu et on (moi la première !) leur colle une étiquette pas très valorisante pour ne pas dire autre chose ! Elles demandent beaucoup d’attention pour se faire oublier tout en gardant ce petit (et j’ai bien dit petit !) côté sexy. . On les a vues sur tous les runway de la Fashion Week RTW Fall 09. Petit refresh….

Surtout évitez le look cuissardes et mini (short, jupe, robe), pas la peine de ressembler à Julia Roberts dans Pretty Woman pour trouver son prince charmant !

Incredible.

I don’t know how she does it, but Imogen Heap’s new album Ellipse is simply amazing. I waited a long time for this CD and it was well worth the wait. If you don’t know her type of music, she a cross of all the following genres; Electronica, Alternative, Indie, Pop, and Ambient. I’d throw in a little classical too.

She strikes me as such a wise person, I have no clue how she comes up with such amazing lyrics with such poetry and hidden meanings. I love it. On top of this, she creates her music all by herself without anyone else’s help or opinions. All instruments and digital sounds are made exclusively by her with innovative uses of technology. She’s worked incredibly hard on this album and you can tell. So much time and effort went into this.

She gives us music at its finest. There’s no other way to describe this album, and yes, it’s even better than Speak for Yourself. I listen to her music and feel as though she’s teaching me something.

Ellipse is a must-have for all music lovers. There’s absolutely nothing bad I can say about this album, it’s that great. Please add it to your collection, you will never regret it.

Here is  a list of all the songs on Ellipse, and to boot, she gives us a second CD filled with the instrumental versions of the same great songs. I don’t think I can pick a favourite on this album, but I love listening to Little Bird over and over.

Alors en vrai, pourquoi mon choix s’est-il porté sur ce machin?

1. Et bien déjà parce que je le trouve assez beau cet objet et aussi parce sans en posséder personnellement, j’aime bien les vinyles.

2. Et puis je kiffe également tout ce qui se rapporte de près ou de loin à cette obscure science dite du “mix” (que je n’ai malheureusement jamais su apprivoiser).

3. Enfin, je sais qu’au sein de ma horde de lecteurs, il y a de nombreux ex-disc-jockeys!

Parmi eux, je peux même t’affirmer lecteur/lectrice que certains avaient du talent! A en faire pâlir de jalousie Bob S. et la GUETTA réunis!

Mais que veux-tu? La night, les femmes, l’alcool, les smarties, tout ça, tout ça… ont peu à peu détruit leur soif de scratch et de beat juggling.

Avec cette platine super smart, voici donc de quoi peut-être leur redonner envie de tâter du vinyle autrement que via des combinaisons intégrales pour soirées à thème…

Au final, quoique tu en penses, tout ça, c’est MUST HAVE à mort!!!!!!!!

Tips From Stylist Christine Kaplan: While the leather jacket can have a very “hard” edge, nowadays it’s very easy to weave this 80s queen into an everyday look, without looking like you just stepped off the stage with Joan Jett. For a casual day style, look for a worn leather jacket in neutral colors, that moves a bit more freely. A bomber or aviator style leather jacket brings down the edge a bit. Pairing this jacket with lighter fabrics (chiffons, jerseys, lace, etc) also plays up the girly feel. Throw on some skinny jeans and over the knee boots and you’re on your way. If skinny jeans aren’t your thing, some wide legged pants with a flowy top tucked in and some pumps will accomplish your effortlessly chic ensemble.

Trebuie sa intelegeti un lucru in legatura cu ultimul volum al trilogiei HIS DARK MATERIALS: actiunea e intensa, iar cand spun asta vreau sa zic ca e inimaginabil cum de poate un scriitor sa obtina un asemenea efect… e uluitor, ce sa mai ocolim! Pot spune cu siguranta ca acesta este unul dintre cele mai bune fantasy-uri citite anul acesta!

Acum o sa va ofer sinopsis-ul cartii (care o sa va spuna povestea mai bine decat mine) si apoi o sa mai adaug cateva lucruri:

Will este purtatorul pumnalului. Acum, insotit de ingeri, are misiunea de a livra aceasta arma puternica, mortala, Lordului Asriel – la cererea tatalui sau muribund.

Dar cum ar putea sa-l caute pe Lordul Asriel cand Lyra a disparut? Doar cu ajutorul ei poate poate dezlega numeroasele mistere care nu-i dau pace. Cele doua mari puteri ale multor lumi s-au ridicat pentru razboi si Will trebuie sa o gaseasca pe Lyra, fiindca impreuna au de purtat propria lor lupta, o calatorie inevitabila care il va duce pana in lumea celor morti…

Interesant, nu? Hai ca ma las pagubas daca nu v-am facut deloc curiosi )

Si daca veti citi aceasta carte veti mai observa ceva:

1. Cartea e complexa, chiar foarte complexa, lucru ce se datoreaza partial si intinderii destul de mari – varinata in limba engleza are 550 de pagini.

2. Persoanajele – inclusiv cele ce apartin lumii fantastice – sunt atat de bine conturate incat pur si simplu par reale, extrem de verosimile – daca nu ma credeti va trebui sa cititi!

3. Romanul are o nuanta accentuata de basm (adica mai mult decat de obicei in cazul genului fantasy), dar cu toate acestea nu o sa va plictiseasca si in plus intamplarile sunt perfect credibile.

HIS DARK MATERIALS este cu siguranta una dintre cele mai bune serii scrise vreodata, iar PHILIP PULLMAN este un adevarat geniu!

This is pretty clever if I say so myself… and I don’t see super clever stuff everyday. Trunki is a company that makes luggage for the wee ones. Only it’s not just luggage- it doubles as a toy. It’s very well made (think back to those old commercials where the gorilla is tossing the suitcase around- well, that would be the case here), they are as cute as, well, ALL GET OUT (sorry- had to do it!), has a capacity of 5 gallons, and its lightweight too (less than 4 pounds).

These are really made for tykes between the ages of 3 and 6. It’ll run you about $60.
