Adventures in the Aviation Hub in Campus with Mecha Musume Tsukasa.

Spent some time inside the aviation hub over at the School of Engineering as the plans for a outdoor shoot was scrapped due to bad weather =/

Before you even enter the area, you’ll be greeted with this Plane! No idea what plane this is though.

Soaring indeed! i caught no ball in there!

The hub sure ain’t lacking anything to teach the students or even the visitors about the operation of air planes.

Talk about 1/1 Scaled Landing gear!

The fancy designs are not just there for show. The students will do some complex operations on the gear which are actually displayed in the area.
Talk about efficiency!

0_0! I was just as confused as Tsukasa while i was in there.

The place is seriously overflowing with the jargon of aerospace junkies!

Apparently the students study charts of airplanes and whatnots. Above is the chart of an Airbus A380.

As much as Tsukasa is a Mecha Musume, her Klutz-lessness ensures that she does not know how to disarm the armor without permission! ;P

Pues en la expo cómic TNT se presentaron distintos grupos musicales,entre ellos Puni Puni Club y Koneko Neko,que interpretaron covers de sus artistas favoritos japoneses para deleite del público que ya las conoce y las sigue,y los que aún no lo hacían,seguramente ya se suman a los incondicionales admiradores de estas cantantes juveniles de j-pop y k-pop…

Algo que me llamó la atención,aunque actuaron en distintos días,es que ambos grupos interpretaron “Sexy Boy” (cover) del grupo Morning Musume,y no lo atribuyo a que se hayan copiado,antes bien,a que ambas agrupaciones admiran a la formación japonesa de chicas adolescentes como ellas…

Creo sería bastante curioso que un día se encontraran en el mismo escenario Koneko Neko y Puni Puni Club,y todas (ya que se saben la coreografía) interpretaran “Sexy Boy”…entonces sí serían como Morning Musume! (Que son como 10 chicas o algo así,que tampoco soy fan…)

Coincidentemente es que ambos grupos musicales empiezan esta canción preguntando dónde están los chicos guapos y sexys,y para nada me pelaron…(¿Pues qué soy invisible o que chirriones? Je…)

Pues por causas distintas las cuatro chicas de este grupo de idols llamado “Puni Puni Club” no se pudieron presentar completas,mas las dos que estuvieron (Ivette e Idaly Mariel) se lucieron cantando y bailando y animaron al público en esta primera convención en Ecatepec,Estado de México…al final hasta tuvieron un improvisado grupo coreográfico de unas Cosplay Maids también muy lindas…interpretaronjuntas “Sexy Boy”,un cover de “Morning Musume”…

Morning Musume-Kimagure Princess PV

A bit of background on how I came to like Morning Musume:

Ive known of them since about 2001 or a bit earlier. I guess I could never really like them until recently, (i was about 12-3 back then) so it must of been weird to like a group of girl singers who were clearly marketed to guys in their 20’s. That, and I didnt understand their appeal? They werent pretty (although they have all become very pretty now), so I didnt understand the hype around them. Also my proficiency in Japanese was lower and I didnt understand / like the upbeat happy songs. I was really into ballads, and i think Cantonese slow songs. I liked Japanese songs too at the time, but they were mostly anime theme songs.

One of the first songs I heard was The Peace, and although I really found it annoying back then (especially at the end haha, how it stops and comes back on) but its now one of my favourites!! Funny how time changes you. I guess my experiences and the pressure I now feel as an adult, the songs help me relax (instead of slow ballads). So thats how I came to like the songs I guess!

So, the only real member i remember is Aibon, with her “twin” being Tsuji. THen I came to find out about GAM, and thats how I started liking Ayaya (i liked her before, but a lot more because of GAM) and Mikitty. Although I dont really like mikitty now , but my love for Ayaya has just increased exponentially

Finally,  after watching 3,2,1 Breaking out (that song really made me like Morning Musume, especially the later gens) and a lot of Utaban, i finally got hooked onto morning musume ^^”. It made me discover their personalities, understand the amount of members / transitions theyve had, and listen to their songs.

So who do I like?

I like everyone in Morning Musume. But there are still favourites

If i had to choose only 1 member, its without a doubt Nacchi. To me shes everything a girl should be
Just look at her smile!! Shes always smiling and she has that perfect short hair (showing her pretty face, usually long hair is just a cover up ). Shes bright, funny, talented as a singer and dancer!! If I could marry anyone shed probably be it!!

Other members I like (recently/still and used to) include:

Aibon (she was so cute as a child…now shes ]

Tettekete (if you havent read my other posts, you will know I ABSOLUTELY LOVE HER, shes my new nacchi: she sings well and can pull of this sexy male voice, dances well, is natural with her emotions, had short hair and looked great with it, plus shes 3 years older than me )

Konkon (Konno Asami is the genius who works hard, plus shes so cute and only 2 years older than me. She goes to Keio university now [equivalent of Ivy League in Japan])

Linlin (she has yet to actually sing some lines in a song, but shes got the talent and potential, plus shes so funny)
Tanaka Reina – shes like the pretty queen, Yankii (badass/delinquent) girl type (without actually being a badass). Shes also a good singer (though her voice is a bit whiny). Plus she has this really cute wonky eye condition (that was fixed recently through surgery).

Gottsan

As a generation: I dont consider the originals as a generation .
I think the 5th generation spoke out to the most. I really like Konkon and Tettekete, so thats 2/4 I liked. Plus Ogawa has this funny place in my heart and Gaki is…cute/blonde . A flawless generation!! In my life, Ive found that i communicate best to girls who are 1-3 years older than me.

2nd generation was too old (though the age gap has kind of closed down),

3rd generation never got to display their personality (it was only Gottsan, and while shes great…)

4th generation was  like Aibon and Tsuji only to me, Ive never really liked Yossi and Charmy (One was too manly, the other was too feminine and she looked like my friends sister). While I did like Aibon, it was only for her playing pranks and jokes and being funny and adorable (shes grown out of both)

6th gen should be the ones I can relate to most, but Mikitty is older than Gottsan and even Matsuura Aya! Ive never really liked Kamei and Michishige (if Tsunku wants to kick someone out of MM, these 2 should go first ) so that only left Tanaka. Also,Ive never been good at communicating with girls my age or younger…
7th gen: I like Koharu (is she 7th gen?) but only cause shes tal and pretty (compared to the rest in MM )
8th gen: I like Linlin a LOT!! Junjun is ok too and Mitsui Aika is cute..but I havent really discovered her (is she 8th gen).

Ill leave you with a favourite song, from my favourite girls group, with my favourite generation:

So in about 2003 or 2004 the Morning Musume group had its largest set of members ever, however Tsunku was nice and wanted to allow those in the more rural/regional areas of Japan to be able to experience the wonderful, passionate concerts that Morning Musume and Hello!Project do.

Thus the Sakuragumi and Otomegumi units were born. I REALLY love the lineup of Sakuragumi, it has all my favourites (or the ones I like more) such as: Nacchi, Tettekete (Ai Takahashi), Ai Kago, Konkon (omg <3 Konno Asami) and the others in the group; Yoshizawa Hitomi, Kamei Eri, Niigaki Risa, Mari Yaguchi. hopefully i didnt leave anyone else out

Otomegumi had a catchy song too, which ill post later. They expanded into the more regional areas with their concerts and singles released, but the only sad thing was if the other group had your favourite members you were kinda outta luck.

Another nacchi post, this time its an acoustic version of her own song, Sweetholic!
I actually like her live and acoustic versions much more than the originals. i think it suits her more than the techno/electronic feel of the original. You can always feel the emotion she puts in when she sings, and her live is really up to par
After all, she has been singing for over a decade as the “main vocalist” of Morning Musume.

Nacchi – Sweetholic

Utaban is my favourite music talk show on Japanese TV!!

Background:

Its hosted by the genius Ishibashi Takaaki (of Tunnels fame) and Nakai Mashiro (of SMAP) and together they make a great duo who invite various artists to the show to plug their music. They have really fun segments, such as simple chatting, dodgeball, ballo0n games, etc etc.

Taka-san is a genius!! He’s funny, he has a wide knowledge so he can relate to almost anything, hes easy to talk to, while Nakai-kun manages to keep the show on track, knows what Taka-san is joking about, so he can enjoy the jokes whilst making the guests feel comfortable.It also allows artists to talk about their lives, in such a way youd never know otherwise. As Japan has a diverse amount of artists, it should be noted that it is hard to gain exposure, and shows like Utaban and Music Station allow that to happen. Because the hosts are well known and respected, they get to do all kinds of funny things and ask questions that really probe our interest.
The show has featured many artists, from EXILE to GLAY, Mariah Carey to Namie Amuro, and of course Morning Musume!!  I think the best way to describe the show is to just watch it – comedic genius at its best, with celebrities you love.

This is the first appearance of Morning Musume on Utaban  – its sometime in 1998!

Natsumi Abe –

Furusato

Background:

Nacchi (Natsumi Abe) was a part of the popular girls group Morning Musume (Japanese). Although they were a group, basically only Nacchi sang this song. She was also known as “the face” of Morning Musume, she got most of the lines in the other songs that were released, and for good reason: she was the best live singer in the group (when they sang this song). BTW I really like her~~ shes really cute and natural, nice personality and a good voice hehe!! Probably my favourite female artist!

On August 12, 2009, sees the release of Ayumi Hamasaki’s  forty-sixth single, “Sunrise/Sunset: Love Is All” and Morning Musume’s 40th single “Nanchatte Renai”.

Sunrise (Love Is All)”, one of the A-sides, will be used as the opening theme song for the Japanese television drama Dandy Daddy?.

As I watch it, I wait endlessly for the beat to drop but most summer songs of course take their time like Sunrise ~Love Is All~ does. In my opinion, I’m not satisfied with this song no matter how bright and cheerful it is for summer. She does have some killer heels in the video though. The most recent song I loved in her Next Level album was LOVE ‘n’ HATE.

Following Shōganai Yume Oibito , the group has been scheduled to release their 40th single “Nanchatte Renai on August 12th, which is their third single in 2009. At the same time, with ‘Nanchatte Renai’ being the group’s 40th commemorative single, a commemorative edition will be released along with the usual regular edition plus two limited edition with two different DVDs.

Nanchatte Renai sounded a bit similar to a past Morning Musume PV but the rap in it made the song stand out. I don’t think I have seen a rap in a Morning Musume song since Do It Now! But it’s not worth for me to get on my i-pod, I prefer Naichau Kamo. Niigaki looks pretty.

Cover of Sweet Black feat. Maki Goto mini album

Well, after the release of the digital singles “Fly Away”, “Lady-Rise” and “With…” by Sweet Black, it’s time for a mini album.  But don’t be fooled by the title, all of the songs were penned and sung by Maki Goto, who had joined Avex about a year ago after being released from Up-Front Agency.  On top of the 3 hit digital singles, there will be another 5 songs including collaborations with Bigga Raiji, KG, and Ken the 390. Although sadly, to the displeasure of fans, “Hear Me”, the song she performed at the 2008 a-nation, still has received no release whatsoever.  Nearly two years after the release of her last name, the album is dropping on September 16th, so keep your eyes peeled!

On a similar note, she is performing on the 15th, 23rd and 30th of August at the 2009 a-nation concert tour.
