While spending time with Justin’s family I found that decorating candles is a yearly tradition around Thanksgiving. This is his mom’s doing from what I understand, and I will admit being skeptical beforehand. But once I sat down and started to play with the different lace and ribbon, I actually enjoyed myself. It also gave me time for some additional ‘family bonding’ without Justin being around, which was probably good.

I am not a big sweets person, but I adore Pie. Apple and Pumpkin being my favorites! Well, on this Thanksgiving trip with Justin’s family I have had the great joy to have both! Even though I was sick and couldn’t gorge myself like I normally do on Thanksgiving, I did make sure that both Pies were enjoyed… The pumpkin pie was his grandmother’s and the Apple (shown below) was ‘favorite Aunt Barbie’s famous apple pie’…

Today after a very Yummy (if not fully enjoyed, due to me being ill) Turkey Dinner we (Justin, Em, Chris, Harry, and myself) went Geocaching. This was actually really kinda enjoyable, in a slightly dorky way. But I loved it. Justin and I took a GeoCoin. Basically it is a coin that you can track and see where its been and where it goes. You take it and move it to another cache. I found one will place it in a new cache in GA. I am looking forward to it.

I am spending Thanksgiving this year with my boyfriend’s family in Florida. So far the trip has been fun and relaxing, although I am not feeling %100. Tomorrow on top of the standard turkey and family time that come with Thanksgiving, there was also talk to geocaching. I have never done this, but I think it sounds like loads of fun. And I will be keeping my camera close at hand for the trip, so pictures will follow.

So… I now have a Youtube account. It will be fun to be able to upload some video’s to show everyone what I am up to. I have started out with a slide show of the images from my Photoshop skills book I did last Summer.

In photojournalism we had to do an environmental portrait. I was actually looking forward to it. I shot Pee Wee over at Bullard’s Total Alignment in Covington, GA. He was really nice and helpful, though the shot is not what my teacher was looking for.

Over the weekend I met up with Ze at the Georgia Hmong New Year. It was really interesting and fun. I wasn’t able to be out as long as I would have liked, but it was a fun experience.

For our fill flash assignment I used some pictures I took at a concert for a friends band, Collateral Damage. Apparently I did not do very well… Which is not surprising with the way most of my assignments have been going in this class. But I like the image.

So I did not do well on my Photojournalism assignment Sports shoot… So I tried again when I saw this Soccer game going on. I think it turned out much better than my last attempt.

Playing around with some images taken at Bear Creek Park a while back to make a diptych using a program called Dipstych. There is something about them that appeals to me.

So, we have a set! I actually like it more than I thought I would. It is fun and colorful, and although it prob took longer than anticipated, it looks great! Everyone should come out and get a picture taken!
