Some of you might call Obama a socialist and might not be happy with a black man running the USA, but let’s be honest people, anything and I mean ANYTHING is better than thick as pig shit Sarah Palin having any real power. Would she even get air time if she wasn’t a FLIRJ??

Well since this is my first post ever, I thought I’d start of with a very simply tip for all you new Blackberry users out there (some may be not new but just don’t know how to do this). The following is a step by step guide on mass deleting your e-mails. If you wanna save some space on your device or simply wanna get rid of those bulk e-mails which u already read then this will definitely come in handy.

1. First step is of course open up your e-mail inbox

2. Hold the shift key and scroll the trackball up or down to highlight the selection of e-mails u want to delete.

3. Now press the delete button on your keypad, you will be given a choice to delete the mails on the device and mailbox or just on the device (maintaining the e-mails if you access them thru your pc). That’s it! You’re done! You can use this for mass deleting SMSes as well.

Well, I know to many this may seem like oh so simple but trust me there are many ppl out there who do not know about this. Pls feel free to leave a comment or ask me questions so I may address them in the future posts.

Why, hello there, dear readers!

I am very happy to see I have *somehow* surpassed the 100 hits  mark! Well, it might not sound like much for most of you out there, but for me it is a great achievement, seen as I haven’t even divulged this blog that much yet!

Aye, but now that your dear blog author (A.K.A.: Me, who else?) is done posting the chapter I of [Unnamed Saga], what will he be doing the next month?

Let me reveal you my situation and my plans:

• This be November, and at the start of this hospitable month the aut— err, I, will be busy with ultimate tests of doom. ’tis okay though, the worst one is coming tomorrow – ’tis Maths. Maths, say Hello!

Maths: The probability of you failing the test is quite high, given your pathetically low I.Q.!

Err… hello to you too, Maths *raises a skeptical eyebrow*

• I will become much less busy after the 10th day of the present month, though, and as such I can focus on something else. Can you guess what it is?

Well, what did I call November again? Hospitable, was it? What the hell? It’s cold and rainy and boring and dull and full of dark clouds and commercial n00bs and… Now why would I do that, why would I find it minimally appealing?

(Choose from the following four options! TELETEXT!)

1. You’re on drugs;
2. You have a pathetically low I.Q.;
3. Your brain was eaten by Maths – OHH YEAH, P(A|B) = 1-P(A’|B), INTERCOURSE!;
4. NANOWRIMO!

If you chose 4, you’re stupendously RIGHT! If you chose 2 and 3, you are also RIGHT! About 1… erm. I don’t do drugs… unless you consider tea a drug… *takes a sip of green tea*, yum.

That’s right, this month me and my writing demoniac surges will be aiming towards the National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo), just me, my “brain”, my mug of tea, my folders of epic orchestral music and my newfound allies – the post its!

For those of you who still think I’m talking about a really badass brand of biscuit, let me clear it up:

NaNoWriMo is this project which gives you an excuse to sit your ass down on the nearest chair (or floor, at the lack of one) and write for ages and AGES.

The basic conditions are as follow:

- Write 50.000 words;

- Do it in a maximum of thirty days;

- Don’t give a freaking damn whether you are actually writing an interesting plot and narrating things perfectly. Just make sure it makes sense (at least for you) and that it meets the conditions above. After these thirty days are gone by, you can polish it if you want. (That’s what every author should do anyway, the polishing bit, at least, that is).

- Have a lot of FUN!

At the end of it you get a monstruous sense of accomplishment. What? That’s more than enough, believe me!

Oh, oh, I can feel you getting all psyched up and jizzly-jiggly. Erm, yeah.

• What else am I going to do this month then? Haha, other than procrastinating, I’ll try and read some articles on writing novels, they should come in handy for the projects I have in mind.

In meinem heutigen Post möchte ich mich mit unserer Community rund um das deutsche Forum beschäftigen, wobei das Problem, das ich gedenke anzusprechen, wahrscheinlich auch in anderen Communities und Spielen verbreitet sein wird.

Hier mal ein Zitat aus Star Wars Episode 2, das gut zum Thema passt:

Yoda: Ja, eine Schwäche zunehmend verbreitet unter den Jedi. Zu selbstsicher sie sind. Selbst die älteren und weit mehr erfahrenen.

Folgende Situation:
Ein N00b kommt ins Forum, ist erst mal erschlagen von tonnenweise Infos, die er nicht verarbeiten kann, weil noch Grundwissen fehlt. Dazu kommt noch, dass er vielleicht noch nicht mit Foren an sich vertraut ist und erst mal schauen muss, wie der vom technischen her funktioniert. Er beist sich aber durch und postet ne Frage in der Hoffnung nicht zu blöd zu klingen und einen halbwegs passenden Bereich dafür gefunden zu haben.
Eigentlich verdient er da ein Lob für den Mut, was bekommt er aber:
“Du blööder n00b! Erst ma SuFu benutzen! Da gibts doch schon nen Thread von 2007 dazu! Wie kann man nur so scheisse sein? Geh wieder zurück zu WoW!”
Oder vielleicht auch:
“Schlimm, die Anfänger heutzutage! Wollen alle vorgekaut bekommen! Lies erst mal 79 Guides und such dir ne Corp und dann machs selber!”

Leute! Echt jetzt!
Ja, vielleicht ist der Forenbereich nicht der richtige. Ja, vielleicht gibts schon nen Thread dazu. Ja, wahrscheinlich kann mans auch irgendwo nachlesen in Guides, etc… Aber mal ehrlich: Wer von uns ist als Vollprofi eingelogt und hat gleich vom Start weg alles hinbekommen?
Ich hab am 25.09.08 mit Eve angefangen. Am 08.01.09 hab ich mich im Forum angemeldet und ging gleich rückwärts wieder raus. Informationoverflow. Irgendwann im März und nach haufenweise gelesener Guides hab ich mich dann mal reingetraut und immernoch erstmal auf die Fresse bekommen, wegen falschem Posten und dummer Fragen.

Versteht mich nicht falsch: Natürlich ist es sinnvoll die N00bs darauf hinzuweisen, dass der Bereich falsch ist, dass es dazu schon nen Thread gibt oder dass man das in Guide xyz super nachlesen kann. Aber das geht doch auch ohne den dicken Molli zu markieren, dem man unverschämterweise seine kostbare Zeit gestohlen hat! Ein freundlicher Hinweis reicht meistens und alles bleibt harmonisch. Der n00b hat Hilfe, hat gelernt, wie er es das nächste mal besser macht und irgendein Erklärbär hat Postcount +1 Aber nein, irgendeiner muss flamen, dass die Bude wackelt.
Die meisten Posts dieser Art finden sich im Einsteiger-Bereich. Warum zum Geier liest da überhaupt einer mit, der nicht die Gedult hat, jedem neuen N00b erst mal mit Freundlichkeit zu begegnen? Wen die Posts da stören, meine Fresse, der soll sie nicht lesen!

Natürlich gibt es auch die unverschämten Noobs, die verlangen, dass man ihnen den Hintern abputzt und noch dafür dankbar ist, dass man sich mit ihrem Scheiss befassen darf. Die sind meistens lernresistent und dreist, aber die hab man schnell rausgefiltert. Hier sollte dann eigentlich gelten “Don’t feed the Troll!” was aber meistens dann doch entgleist. Aber das ist ja auch nicht mal so schlimm. Schlimm ist, dass der rechtschaffenen n00b oft nicht mal die Chance bekommt, sich zu bewähren, da er gleich vom Start weg weggeflamt wird, als wär er der Antichrist.

Mein Aufruf an die alten Hasen und Profis da draussen:
Habt Gedult mit den N00bs! Gebt ihnen eine Chance! Versucht euch zu erinnern: Ihr wart auch mal so “jung”! Vergesst das nicht, bloß weil ihr jetzt T2-BS und Caps fliegen könnt und euer Wallet zehnstellig ist!

Andere Baustelle gleiches Problem: Learningskills!
Jeder N00b, der ins Forum kommt und fragt, was sinnvoll zu skillen ist, bekommt von irgendeinem Altehrwürdigen gesagt: “Erst die Learnings und die Advanced Learnings auf 5, dann erst was anderes!”
Da könnt ich jedesmal die Kriese bekommen! Klar, wenn man seinen Char schon hat und spielt und dann irgendwann mal überlegt nen Alt hochzuziehen, DANN kann man das machen. Aber auch nur dann!
Die Learnings inc. Advanced auf 4 zu ziehen dauert gleich mal 2 Wochen. Soll ein Neueinsteiger erst mal 2 Wochen nur im Rookie-Ship rumfliegen und alles Geld nur in die Skillbooks packen? Wem macht das denn Spass?
Ja klar, höchste Effizienz bekommt man mit den Learnings so früh wie möglich, aber es muss doch nicht immer nur gepowergamed werden!

Erinnert euch, ihr Götter der Eve-Welt! Auch ihr wart einst Sterbliche! Auch ihr habt euch über eure erste Frig gefreut! Versucht daran zu denken, bevor ihr dem n00b von heute antwortet und nehmt euch ein Herz.

Die Aufgabe: Wie bringt man einem jüngeren Bruder die Freuden und Vorzüge der Programmierkunst nahe, so dass auch ein sonst quengeliger Teenager sich nicht nach 5 Minuten zu Tode langweilt? Aller Anfang ist schwer. Die Lernkurve für jemanden, der noch nie in seinem Leben etwas mit Informatik zu tun gehabt hat, ist steil. Klassen,Variablen, Funktionen, Algorithmen, Datenbanken, Ports, Streams, Protokolle oder einfach nur die strikte Syntax einer Programmiersprache sind Neuland, und damit stehen auch die Stunden, die man mit Trial & Error verbringt noch aus. Wie grausam.

Die Faktenlage ist klar: Wer programmieren kann, hat eine lukrative Einkommensquelle im Studium oder noch während der Schulzeit. Angenehmer als in einem Softwareunternehmen lässt sich wohl nicht so gutes Geld verdienen – erst recht nicht als Abiturient oder Student. Während andere bei McDoof oder dem lokalen Kurierdienst Stunden abrutschen, sitzt man gemütlich zuhause vor dem PC und kann arbeiten wie es einem beliebt. Eindeutig ist dies der w2g für einen Teeny, dem die wöchentliche Zeitungaustragerei leidig wird. Aber wie fangen wir an?

Erstens: Sprache auswählen. Nicht sonderlich schwer, mit Erfahrungen in PHP, Javascript und Python ist die Wahl schnell getroffen. Python ist gut dokumentiert, hat viele Standard Libs und man kann wirklich fast alles damit machen. Außerdem ist es einfach zu benutzen (Byte Compiled, Windoof Installer etc.). Die Syntax ist sauber und ästhetisch macht es einiges her, verglichen mit PHP oder Javascript, Java oder C. Wunderbar geeignet um einem n00b das programmatische Denken näher zu bringen.

Zweitens: Arbeitsumgebung wählen. Oke, der Jung hat keine Ahnung von Linux, tut mir wirklich leid, aber er wird wohl die ersten Schritte in Windows gehen müssen. *ouch* Nunja, Aptana ist als IDE der Wahl schnell installiert, oder vielleicht auch SciTe für die ersten Spielereien, das reicht auch.

Drittens: Was machen wir blos? Ich fand es persönlich immer schwer, zu programmieren ohne ein Ziel vor Augen zu haben. Programmieren hat für mich keinen Selbstzweck sondern ist das Handwerkszeug der Informatik und man sollte sich somit auch vornehmen, Probleme zu lösen. Coden um des Codens willen ist für einen Neuling wirklich sinnlos. Also: Schreiben wir eine Art Taschenrechner. Das Kind macht im Moment quadratische Funktionen und der Gleichen – ein Tool zum berechnen verschiedener Punkte einer Funktion wäre eine hilfreiche Sache, und das Mathe Lernen würde es auch unterstützen.

Also: Ran an den Speck. Hier sind die ersten Infos zum Lesen für den Python Einsteiger ohne Programmiererfahrung unter Windows:

1. http://python.org/ftp/python/2.6.3/python-2.6.3.msi – Python Compiler und Co. Installieren. Glücklich sein.
2. http://wiki.python.org/moin/BeginnersGuide/Overview – Das mal zu lesen schadet nicht.
3. http://www.aptana.org/studio/download – Tolles IDE auf Basis von Eclipse.
4. http://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Non-Programmer%27s_Tutorial_for_Python_2.0/Hello,_World – Auch sehr cool wenn man nicht gerade Python 3.0 von O’Reilly zu hause liegen hat.

Soweit erstmal zum Setup. Später dann mehr, wenn wir wirklich ans programmieren kommen.

Alright, so if you’re protective about your religion and don’t like when its spoken against I’m warning you to leave. 90% of people reading this who that applies to will continue to read anyway. Anyway, it seems that most people follow a religion because its what their friends believe in, or their parents, or brothers and sisters etc. I wish people would actually try to follow a religion that THEY believe in… even if no one else does. Like why do SO many people have to believe ‘God’ created the universe and Jesus was his son and so on and so forth. I haven’t met anyone yet who believe in something other a god or gods. I haven’t met anyone who has actually made up their own religion. Not that I have, I’m still a bit confused, which is why I’d like to hear more than the same old 3-7 main religion theories. The way I’m confused is that I’m not atheist not agnostic but I don’t have a religion. I guess I’m sort of agnostic… but sometimes I want to believe that something are too coincidental to have been made to happen by something else. I’ll never say I believe in God though, and not because I’m ignorant or something its just that God has an image. Most people who I’ve asked what their picture of God is (even some atheists) a white man. I don’t want to be tied down to have to believe in that specific image… what if God has no gender… what if he is transparent? So I prefer to call whatever I might believe in to be forces. However I still believe in the big bang and evolution… You might understand how I’m confused now… its all very frustrating. But if you have a different religion not many people have heard of comment!
