راولپنڈی: راولپنڈی کی ایک احتساب عدالت نے لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے حکم امتناعی کی وجہ سے نوازشریف اور شہباز شریف کے خلاف نیب ریفرنسز کی سماعت آٹھ نومبر تک ملتوی کردی ہے۔

بدھ کو احتساب عدالت کے جج چوہدری عبدالحق نے شریف برادران کے خلاف ریفرنسز کی سماعت شروع کی تو انہیں بتایا گیا کہ حکم امتناعی کے باعث کیس کی سماعت نہیں ہوسکتی۔

جس پر عدالت نے کیس کی سماعت آٹھ نومبر تک ملتوی کردی۔

واضح رہے کہ لاہور ہائی کورٹ نے گزشتہ روز شریف برادران کے خلاف ریفرنسز خارج کرنے سے معتلق درخواست پر سماعت پانچ نومبر تک ملتوی کردی تھی۔

راولپنڈی کی احتساب عدالت نمبر چار کے جج چوہدری عبدالحق نے شریف برادران کے خلاف  ریفرنسز کھولنے کیلئے دائر درخواست کی سماعت کی۔

ریفرنس کھولنے کی درخواست چیرمین نیب کی طرف سے دائر کی گئی تھی۔

دوران سماعت، نواز شریف کے وکیل خواجہ حارث کے معاون نے عدالت کو بتایا کہ ریفرینسز کے حوالے سے ایف آئی آر خارج کرنے کی درخواست لاہورہائی کورٹ میں دائر ہے جس کی یکم اکتوب رکو  راولپنڈی بینچ میں سماعت ہوگی۔

معاون وکیل کا کہنا تھا کہ مذکورہ درخواست کی سماعت تک نیب عدالت میں مزید کارروائی کو ملتوی کیا جائے۔

وکیل کے دلائل کے بعد نیب عدالت نے درخواست کی سماعت دس اکتوبر تک ملتوی کردی۔

قبل ازیں پندرہ ستمبر کو احتساب عدالت نے مسلم لیگ ن کے چیف نواز شریف اور ان کے خاندان کے خلاف کرپشن کے تین ریفرنسز پر کارروائی کو روک دیا تھا۔

شریف خاندان کی نمائندگی کرنے والے وکیل نے عدالت کو بتایا تھا کہ  لاہور ہائی کورٹ کے ڈویژن بنچ نے حکم دیا ہے کہ جب تک وہاں یہ معاملہ حل نہیں ہوجاتا تب تک احتساب عدلت اپنی کارروائی کو روک دے۔

ISLAMABAD: Five cellular mobile operators (CMOs) have requested Prime Minister Raja Parvez Ashraf to direct the National Accountability Bureau to stop what they said media trial and harassment of telecom companies in the country.

The NAB is investigating the cases relating to the alleged evasion of Rs47 billion by the five telecom operators. The CMOs claim that they have paid the due taxes.

In a letter sent to the prime minister dated July 13, the companies requested the premier for a hearing opportunity to present their point of view. “There is no factor of corruption or loss to government exchequer,” the letter said, a copy of which was made available to Dawn on Monday.

It said that no tax is due on interconnect, as it was mere tax sharing of revenue on which tax has been collected/deposited on gross amount by each telecom operator from whose network the call was initiated.

The letter explained that the notification issued by the Revenue Division on June 30, 2012 was to give waiver from procedural matters to the telecom sector. “In the past similar waivers from procedures for taxpayers were also issued by the FBR,” it claimed.
