On this day in 1956 , the first gorilla bred in captivity was born at the Columbus Zoo. Its name is Colo and it is the oldest captive Gorilla in America. Nacho Donut went to witness this momentous day in history. These photos are taken from the archives at the Library of Congress.

Maria Menounos has been supporting Nacho Donut since the beginning. She is Nacho Donut’s biggest fan.

I always wanted to take cute ‘posed’ pics of my pets but as usual it was one of those things I rarely got around to.  But my MIL requested a picture of Nacho in one of his sweaters for Christmas (this is apparently what happens when you don’t give a woman grandkids after a certain time lol)

Nacho hates his sweaters, which is a shame b/c he has a small puppy wardrobe but every once in a while I stick one on him and let him mope.  So in most of the pictures, he is moping lol

And then like a year ago I bought him this toy… after Valentine’s Day.  I had the intention to post him with it then but it never happened.  So Heart has been beaten up and chewed and lost most of it’s shape, but still cuteness prevails.

I loved the pics so much that Nacho got 3 blown up and hung on my photo wall.

Nacho Donut travels back in time to this day in history in 1805 to witness the Battle of Austerlitz. With no particular interest in the French or Russo-Austrian forces, Nacho Donut turns his attention to a blue donut who got so high he went back in time.

So Nacho Novo is to be investigated for getting his erse out after Rangers’ loss to Aberdeen yesterday?

We love Nacho for how committed he is to the cause and for how well he has integrated with the fans. Whenever he comes off the bench he’s always pumping his fists to get the crowd motivated – more than a large percentage of the ‘first team’ ever do.

Anyway, during the closing stages of the game, Novo was being subjected to  torrent of abuse/banter from the sheep shagging bastards calling him a gay. Fair do’s; in my opinion fans should be allowed to shout anything within reason at players with obvious exceptions. Hell, they’re earning enough that it should be water off a ducks back. They earn enough money that getting some verbals for 90 minutes a week should be a piece of piss.

So as Novo was leaving the pitch he drops his shorts a little to the Aberdeen fans in a get it up ye gesture (not literally) and then flips them a finger (again, not literally).

Cue the sheep getting their wool encrusted panties in a twist.

Novo has been reported to the Grampian peelers as ‘fans with children were offended’ at his ‘mooning’. Now, mooning. That involves actually getting your arse out. That involves actual crack being shown. Novo didn’t.

I’ll refer to the font of all wisdom – Urban Dictionary:

Mooning: The recreational act of baring one’s ass in public with the intention of it being seen by people who don’t want, or expect, to see it.

Technically, there was no ass seen by people. Only his fetching white undercrackers. Surely this is an open and shut case for the Gramps polis?

Although, in saying that, the whole Rangers team could be thrown in jail for public indecency after that performance…

Muy buenas chicos

la pedriza

Este sabado nos hemos dado el madrugón para reengarcharnos al grupo de Downly para hacer un rutilla de unos 30 km por el parque de la pedriza en madrid.

A las 9:00 llegamos al primer aparcamiento  donde nos agrupamos todos para, tras preparar las protecciones en la mochilla, comenzar el ascenso por los senderos de la pedriza para realizar el primer bucle de calentamiento, jeje

tras llevar unos pocos km de subida comenzamos el primer descenso y …. el primer pinchazo de la jornada, que se volveran ha repetir durante toda la jornada, de ahí el tiempo final

tras arreglarlo seguimos el descenso por senderos camino al bar del aparcamiento para comenzar la dura y técnica subida del bucle, aqui podeis ver alguna de las subidas que nos encontramos

tras agruparnos, comenzamos el ultimo ascenso de la jornada por al pista izquierda hasta la siguiente bajada dandonos tiempo  a hacernos fotillos entre pedalada y pedalada

antes de llegar nacho y gustavo deciden marcharse y se quedan sin senderitos despues de todo el esfuezo hecho, pero nosotros disfrutamos en su nombre…

Santiago Gamboa pertenece a esa cada vez más prolongada serie de escritores latinoamericanos que se han tornado universales, no sólo porque sus obras se situen fuera de nuestras geografías físicas, ni porque vivan fuera de ella, sino también porque en sus obras, los temas universales se hacen patentes, palpables y le hablan por igual a cualquiera que se aproxime a ellas sin importar de dónde vengan o a dónde vayan. Necrópolis, no es la excepción, sino la consagración de este aspecto, una historia llena de historias que se desarrolla en la mítica Jesúsalen, pero a la que asisten personajes de distintos sitios del mundo y cada uno aporta su cuota, adelantándonos a sus propias palabras: en esa suerte de homenaje/referencia al Decamerón de Boccaccio, entre otros referentes literarios presentes en su obra. Necrópolis ha sido galardonada por el cada vez más prestigioso Premio de Novela La Otra Orilla 2009 y tras su lectura queda muy claro cuales son las cualidades para ello, pero nada como haber tenido la oportunidad de conversar con el autor en su reciente visita a Venezuela y que sea, con sus propias palabras, quien les presente su novela por cortesía de Editorial Norma y Kandela Films.
