They will look right past this game as they face off against the Lakers in the next game on national television. NBA Talk: Marbury To Sit Out This Season;Plans For 2010 Rise

It seems that former Boston Celtics point guard Stephon Marbury will “shut everything down” for the 2009-10 season, but is expected to make a return for the 2010-11 season, reports the New York Post. Marbury played with the Celtics last season and was okay.He has been through many mixups with the New York Knicks which made him go into free agency as he was eventually signed by the team that won the NBA Finals just not too long ago. During the offseason, Marbury declined the offer the C’s made to him, which was $1.3M, and decided to explore any other teams that would sign him and give him more money.

Marbury then started to make his own shows on outlets like Ustream and Justin.tv. He made a Barbie Girl dance, which was sort of…disturbing. But not as disturbing as his video of eating vaseline. He was pretty much just wacked, drunk, or high somehow during the making of those and made himself look like the biggest idiot on the Internet.

“I’m resting, doing what Michael Jordan did, enjoy life, do things I haven’t done in 16 years, keep building my empire,” Marbury said, according to the Post. “I wasn’t going to Boston for that money. It was a prudent business decision to take off this year.”

Business decision, eh? I don’t know what Marbury is going to do, but let’s hope he doesn’t start investing into things like Ustream or Justin, it’d be very messed up. Hey, why not BlogTalkRadio? Mypodcast.com? This may be very interesting.

But back to the offseason with Stephon. Like I said, not so many teams had interest in him. He then later announced he would want to sign with a playoff contender. Then, probably about three teams-to-none was going to have a chance at signing him.

Marbury was then later surprised that the Knicks had interest in him! But Stephon said he would never go there and things have not been forgotten, or forgiven, between the two sides.

“I’m just talking as a fan and New Yorker who grew up loving the Knicks: Why would I give you my money to watch them?” Marbury said, according to the Post. “This is atrocious. Guys coming down court, just raising up 3-pointers from anywhere. The coaching is horrible. What kind of coaching is this?”

Wow. But anyways, I wish a lot of luck to you Stephon.

You’re definitely going to need it.

Wallace Very Optimistic On Celtics This Season

When Rasheed Wallace signed with the Boston Celtics this offseason, you know he was going to talk with his mouth, and in the games…complain to the refs. But right now, it’s his mouth as he says the Celtics can surpass the Bulls record of 72 games won in a season.

Said Wallace in an interview:

“‘Oh definitely. Definitely, playing with those three other guys, also combining that with the guys we have on the bench, I think we can definitely can. Me personally, I think we can get that Bulls record. You know we have the talent for it. We have the will for it and … I think we have the defense for it.’

[Halzack:] Do you want me to use that?

‘You can. Because honestly, I really do feel that. That was a good team. They had some [Hall of Famers] on there, but we have a few on this team, too.’”

Weird, huh? But according to a source, which is my buddy Jay King’s site, his site at Celtics Town says that the Celtics won 66 games two years ago and 62 games last year, with Kevin Garnett injured for part of the season. With K.G. healthy this year and Boston looking much better with new additions and all that, the Celtics are better than both of those teams combined!

But the Celtics are going to have to battle some tough teams this season along with their players staying healthy. Can they do it? Possibly, but heck, we’ll see. Anyways, Wallace is a dreamer, right?
