Heart shaped diamond necklaces make great gifts.

When you think about love, the first thing that comes to mind is a heart. What better way to say I love you than with a diamond heart shaped necklace? Heart pendants come in many sizes and styles. With so many to choose from, you are sure to find the perfect one.

Are you buying a heart-shaped necklace for your anniversary? If so, this is one of the best ways to say I love you. You may want to consider a few things first. Does your wife like white or yellow gold? Does she prefer sterling silver? What she once liked, might not be what she likes today. It doesn’t hurt to ask a few questions to find out what she would like in her new necklace.

There are all types of choices when it comes to precious metals. That is why it is important to know what kind of metal your loved one prefers. Sometimes people do not have a preference. Other times, the person does have a preference which might be related to taste or to an allergy to a certain metal. If you are unsure ask your loved one or person close to them. You could even try asking a few discreet questions.

A great way to help you pick out your diamond is to use the four C’s. The four C’s will help you have an understanding of diamonds. The fours C’s consist of; Cut, Clarity, Color, and Carat Weight. The cut is more of a preference; you will find many cuts to choose from. Clarity is how clear the diamond is. The color of the diamond is another preference. You will find not all diamonds come in just “white”. Diamonds can come in a variety of colors. The carat weight is how much the actual diamond weighs. Not the diamond and metal, the carat weight only refers to the actual diamond’s weight.

If you are looking to truly impress someone with a diamond heart shaped pedant, you have two choices of style. The traditional style normally has a diamond of a single color embedded in the pendant. The contemporary style normally has different color diamonds embedded into the pendant.

If you find that real diamonds are out of your budget you still have several options. Man made diamonds are a great alternative that you can use for your heart-shaped pendant. Man made diamonds look like real diamonds. However, they are much more affordable.

Cubic Zirconia, also known as CZ, is a great choice, if you are considering a man made diamond. Another choice from a man made diamond is Mosissanite. If you don’t have the budget for a “real” diamond, these diamonds can still provide the look of a real diamond. Most people won’t even be able to tell the difference.

Yep, I’ve been working on some stuff this weekend.  You know that time of the year for me…I would rather make things than buy things.  I can’t keep it all.  Besides I’m getting better so my stuff is improving compared to some of the stuff in my stash bag…my stash bag of finished pieces.

So a little of this.

my giftie girl likes lime green, so I looked at the opposite side of the color wheel, and it said violet red, so this little so gel seed beed in clear pink isn’t to saturated or bold.

So this is a 2 drop peyote band.  I have added some 8’s along the bottom to give it a little more curvature.  This is where the drops will hang soon.

This was taken about 1/2 an hour before stopping.  I guess I’m at about 2 hours or less at the length of about 10 inches.

So here is my selection process.

I pulled out these.

So I selected the lime green with clear beads to disband and use.

But I haven’t used them yet.  These are probably more like 6’s, So I haven’t used them in the peyote band…I think I will use them with the drops…

So I got out my 8’s.

I picked out dark lime green silver lined, and also a transparent root beer (which seems to go with everything) to alternate for the 8’s on the bottom of the band.

I also worked on stringing some pearls.  You know I just got better at this trick.

So this is what I made this weekend.  Three necklaces and one peyote band necklace started.

I’ve apparently been on a ring-making binge…so the rest of the release is just that…rings!

Chrissy Hynde is one of my all-time favorite Rocker Chics.
From the early days, I felt connected to her. I couldn’t belt out the tunes like she did, but we had some similarities.
I went to Baldwin Wallace College in Berea, Ohio in the early 70’s, she attended Kent State University in Kent, Ohio during the Kent State shootings. We were practically neighbors, sisters.

I always loved her look. The dark shag, I had it.
A black leather bomber jacket and a plain-jane tee. I had it.
She rocked it. We noticed. We wanted to be her….still do.

Don’t say it! I know what you’re thinking. “I can’t wear that”.

Instead, you can still VISUALIZE yourself as a FUN, unleashed and unrestrained woman of the new millenium.
Re-create Chrissy with skinny jeans, (shredded or not), boots (flat or hi-heeled), but definitely, a plain white tee and a necklace that will pull it all together, such as this one.

Mixing the soft, classic style of gray south sea pearls with the hard rock edge of chains, and you’ve got that GLAM ROCKER CHIC look so prevalent this Holiday.
