Is it unrequited love for Rayne, or perhaps feelings that waren’t given the chance to be revealed? Whichever it is, some of the viewers of Neo Angelique Abyss may have reacted violently, or maybe cried a river of tears, due to Rayne and Angelique not ending up together.

Rayne is a purifie, and also a talented researcher who harbors romantic feelings for Angelique, despote appearing to be a bit grouchy and uncaring. Truthfully, he’s actually a very understanding guy who truly cares for the people around him.

Angelique is the only female purifier known to the series. She may not be the total opposite of Rayne, which kills the whole idea of opposite attraction, but her kind and nuturing personality matches not only with Rayne but also of the rest of the other purifer.

There are many many scene that Rayne could have tell to Angelique his feelings but even having all those time Rayne didn’t say anything and holdback his self for saying, and when we thought that the time has come for these two to be together, it ends up in a dust when Angelique need to fulfill her new responsibility.

Based on a video game series, Neo Angelique Abyss tries to press all the right buttons for anime-loving young ladies and gallantry-inspired young men, naively assuming that it only needs three major components to make it work: a beautiful girl, heroic young men, and an evil to be conquered…

The land of Arcadia is beset by life-devouring monsters called Thanatos. Warriors with the power to vanquish them are called Purifiers. Angelique is a 16-year old student who discovers she has the power to purify through praying when her boarding school is attacked by the Thanatos. Together with four warriors (whip-lashing gentleman Mr Nyx, gun-slinging former professor Rayne, chako-wielding strong guy J.D., and spear-waving former Knight Hyuga), she travels from one town to another, vanguishing demons, and blushing each time a guy–practically every guy in this series–flirts with her.

I’m going to have to excuse myself for not writing an anime summary for this year.  Don’t get me wrong, I’ve watched a lot of anime, just nothing new!

I’ve found the helpings of anime this year rather scarceto say the least.  A number of series have enticed me with their titles, but nothing has come across via hear-say or from con’s that actually warrants watching.  Out of this years choices, I have only seriously watched 1 series (Neo-Angelique Abyss) and dabbled in watching a couple of others (the new Slayers series and season 2 of Code Geass).  There have been a few choices that bored me to tears (Alison to Lilia) and others which have insulted my intelligence and morals (Monochrome Factor for example seemed to trivialise homosexuality in the first episode, which really irritated me).

I’m not an arrogant anime fan, I just haven’t found something which has really hit me as amazing this year, which is a great shame.  Last year had quite a few series which I loved to watch, Gurren Lagan was amazing, Romeo x Juliet was a great re-telling, Lucky Star and Lovely Complex were entertaining, to name but a few.  Previously, 2006 had been a great year, with Death Note, Ouran High School Host Club, NANA, and to some level Haruhi.  However, 2008 has been really disappointing, which is such a shame as Japanese anime companies finally realised that subbing episodes and putting on them on youtube is the best way to beat fansubbers.

Maybe my own personal hate of this year is the sheer number of moe and school titles with redundant themes and generic characters.  I remember last year watching Manabi Straight.  I was wondering at the time why I was watching it, and then further wondered why on earth anyone would watch it.  I suppose I just still don’t understand the whole moe culture, although I know it has something to do with innocence and a warm feeling inside.  Maybe I should just stop watching stuff that just isn’t designed for girls.

However, the disappointment of this year isn’t all bad.  It enabled me to catch up with some old anime which I hadn’t previously seen in particular Honey & Clover, Welcome to the NHK and Genshiken.  I also started watching J-Dramas this year.  It made a change, and when you get used to the acting being not dissimilar from anime, it is quite endearing.

So roll on 2009, and I really hope there’s something worthwhile this year.

I realized I didn’t talk about this last week, but I finished Neo Angelique Abyss ~Second Age~ and… well, let’s just say the first one was much better. To me, it felt like the pace was really slow and I know character development is important to a good show, but I think this was overkill. The first season managed to keep a balance while doing this, but I felt this time, it was just overdone, and it was done for basically all the important characters in the show, including some of which I didn’t. And adding to the fact that a certain character (who will not be named for MAJOR spoiler reasons) was not there most of the time, it just felt kind of empty, and it wasn’t really a happy ending. I mean it was, don’t get me wrong, nobody died, but… Well, it didn’t leave a good feeling in me after watching it.

So yeah! I watched the first episode of Vampire Knight Guilty and it was pretty good! Gorgeous, as usual. I still can’t wait for Yuuki to get her long hair. It looks so much better that way. There was slightly less angst, so that was great lol. It’s totally not this angsty in the manga, but somehow, that’s what the anime adaptation seems to be focusing on. I don’t know why… but anyway, they are still following the manga (some scene orders might be slightly varied but I haven’t read this part of the manga in a while) so that’s great. Sometimes, diverging from the manga can be really good (like Pretear or Fullmetal Alchemist, although I have not read the manga for FMA but I am told it is quite different but still good) but sometimes it’s better to just “remake” the manga. Actually, I’m looking over the corresponding manga chapters and they kept the main idea but changed the feelings around… Kaname and Yuuki never had that ‘childish’ conversation which was weird. And I’m still waiting for the Kaname vs. Zero fight! I hope they go back to that since it looks like they kind of skipped that scene… boo! I was really looking forward to that! Anyway, I like where this is going and I can’t wait for the life-changing secrets to be revealed. I want Yuuki’s hair to be long NOW! It looks so much better long and they tease us by even putting a picture of it at the end of the opening theme song! And by the way, the songs are amazing as usual. They kept the same band that did the first season op for the new op and similarly for the ending. But I guess that’s almost where the manga is now… so are they going to slow it down or make some fillers? I have a feeling it may lead towards both since they were able to stretch around 21 or so chapters in 13 episodes, so they could probably do the same again. Anyway, can’t wait for the next episode!

And Skip Beat was fabulous! The only expectation it may not have lived up to was the animation, which was kind of sad since that’s one of the main attractions to an anime adaptation, but so far, everything else is good so I may look over it. I was so excited for the portrayal of Kyoko’s demons and I was glad they turned out so well! lol. And I laughed my head off at the Sho-as-a-prince picture. That was just too funny! And they are following the manga quite faithfully which makes me even more excited for some of the upcoming arcs, particularly the PV arc (which is absolutely gorgeous) and the Dark Moon arc, where Kyoko is even more amazing than usual, if that’s possible. Throughout the series, she just gets better and better. I’m so happy she’s not the usual damsel-in-distress, which does get repetitive. The way it’s going, it looks like it might be around 1-2 chapters per episode, so it will still be a long way until the arcs I mentioned above, but I’m still looking forward to all the other stuff and I see no reason why they would rush or slow the pace down, since the manga is over 20 volumes (it seems like a lot, but it’s still not enough lol). Anyway, I’m a little bit worried since I have yet to see a steady group subbing this… hopefully it’s just the start-of-season chaos and it will get better? Well, I can’t wait for the next ep!

On a totally random sidenote, I’m not really a Mac person but one thing they definitely did right was GarageBand, so I’ve been trying to find a PC substitute. I came across this one by Acoustica called Mixcraft, and with a few changes in colours, it looks exactly the same. So I thought, “Wow! That’s awesome!” So I’m using it now and it’s pretty cool. I’m just using it for the trial because I wanted to trim off the beginning and end of this song I was listening to, but I recommend this for those who liked GarageBand!

I actually stopped watching this about halfway through because, obviously, it trainwrecked. I did, however, keep up with the plot via Kurogane and T.H.A.T. in hopes that it would magically re-rail itself.

As you probably know by now, it didn’t. I gotta say, though, the whole Geassing Jupiter (aka GOD) thing was five different kinds of epic.

I may not know every detail of every episode (like some people) but some of the characters that ended up living SHOULD HAVE DIED. Like Nina. Sorry, Table-tan, but even Rolo’s cooler than you, and he didn’t even last as long as the Emperor.

And all that crap with the Codes was really a waste of brainpower.

I could rant on this for hours, but I won’t, because my head hurts (for reasons involving fanart and Spanish class. don’t ask) and it’s rather pointless to obsess over such things as plot. Instead, I will spend my time mourning for the lost jewel OTP that is Lulu/C.C.

tl;dr: Sunrise is a crack whore. (Yes, Owen, my tl;dr summary is superior to yours.)

Macross Frontier
Breakup because: Pimp. No, seriously, SHUT UP AND PICK A GIRL ALREADY.

Protip: Girls hate pimps. (Well, there are exceptions, but any girl worth dating hates pimps.) Alto still couldn’t decide between Sheryl or Ranka at the end of the series, therefore he is either a wuss or a pimp. And since, you know, he rides out into battle and fights Vajra all the time, it’s safe to say he’s not a wuss.

Oh, and I seriously think Sheryl should’ve died. I was very happy with her character development over the course of the series (mature lady > slut), and I loved her at the end of episode 19; but she still should’ve died, partly to avoid Mary-Sue/Deux Ex Machina-dom, and partly because I ship Alto/Ranka.

OH, WAIT, I FORGOT: I don’t ship Alto/Ranka anymore, because Ranka turned into a total dweeb who’s stupider than half of my school’s Honors English students combined. (Yes, I mean that with every inch of my not-stabbed-yet,still-beating heart.)

How is it that crack whore Zero no Tsukaima harem series get 26+ episodes and the awesomeness that is Toshokan Sensou only has 12? There’s still more novels to be animated, and the manga just isn’t enough to do the series justice. Animated Iku chibis and action > static chibis and action.

Also, moar Iku/Doujou. At least we got that happy ending. I seriously DID think he was gonna die. ;~~~~~~;

Crystal Blaze
Breakup because: You’re just weird.

Crystal Blaze was doing just fine, albeit weird and unoriginal, until around episode 9. Then that trainwreck of a climax just killed it for me; I never finished it, partly out of sheer laziness. Evil doctor whut? Seriously.

Also, too much fanservice. I never thought I’d say that about this series, but it’s just so much more annoying when 80% of the time it’s SRS BSNSS fanservice and it acts pretentious, which instead makes it hilarious.

I wasn’t even expecting this to be great or anything, but I couldn’t even make it through the first episode. Ladies and gentlemen, that’s when you know the director is either on crack or an idiot. Or perhaps both.

… Out of morbid curiousity, did ANYONE watch this series?

Breakup because: Nothing special, kinda boring… but heck, I would’ve been fine with that if there would’ve been more Kenichi Suzumura to make up for it.

Gunfights, emo guys and… only three episodes? In this genre, you can’t accomplish ANYTHING in three episodes, thus it ended with a whimper. At least the last episode was well-executed, and we got some Suzuken goodness out of it.

The saddest part is, I will probably never have the time to go back and watch all the alleged gems from that season, because Fall 2008’s packed with stuff I at least want to try/watch/blog.

Sigh.

So many shows this week!
Well, not that many.

Let’s count: Heroes, Fringe, Grey’s Anatomy, me catching up on Naruto and Bleach and finishing Neo Angelique Abyss, picking up Neo Angelique Abyss ~Second Age~ as well as Wellber no Monogatari.

Okay yeah… that’s a lot. But I’m managing somehow

Oh yeah. And I have to make room for new shows coming in October like Vampire Knight Guilty and Skip Beat which I definitely plan to watch (and maybe Gundam 00’s second season) and other new ones that I may start watching. And I’d like to somewhere in all that find time to start Code Geass (I didn’t know it was CLAMP!) and Macross Frontier… Oh and Chuck, Private Practice, and Life (which I’m also planning to get into) are back next week. And I still need to catch up on Smallville. But that’s _low_ on my priority list right now lol.

Umm… I need to cut this list down A LOT… somehow…

Anyway, once again, I will avoid those current problems that keep building up and give a few of my thoughts on Neo Angelique Abyss (the first season) which I finished earlier this week. I know I was worried before that it would be overly a Mary Sue-style series, but it worked out in the end. It was still very much a Mary Sue, but I don’t think it went overboard (for my tastes). For comparison, it’s not as much of a Mary Sue as Sailor Moon. Now that’s a classic Mary Sue, but it works in that case. Anyway, the characters were great (and beautiful) but they all ended up having some sort of emotional baggage which was kind of repetitive. Everyone has issues but at least some people are naive and innocent. Not in this anime. But this did add a lot to the character development, so that was fine. Ending-wise, I’ll say it right now, it was horrendous. If there was no second season, no matter how good the first 12 episodes were, I would have still given it a -2/10. Thank goodness for the continuation. To try to explain it without giving too much of a spoiler, (okay it is a spoiler but what can you do) it would be like the playing the first half of Final Fantasy VI but stopping right before jumping off the Flying Continent. It’s like that but with added betrayal making it so much worse. Yeah. Wrap your head around that for a second. So naturally, I had to start watching the second season. I’ve just started, so I’m not going to say much about it for now.

Looks like Bleach is about to end its filler arc so that’s good. I’m interested to see how they’re going to explain why they’re randomly going to go back to Hueco Mundo though. It’s like “Oh, we still didn’t finish what we were supposed to do there… I guess we should go do that now… right?” As for Naruto, I like watching Naruto’s training, but I don’t really wanna watch the upcoming battle because it’s going to be sad… for those of you who’ve read the manga, you know what I’m talking about. Why do shows randomly kill off the cool characters? Gah.

So I just watched the first episode of the new season of Heroes (season 3) and that was Crazy! lol and I like how the dna/helix-like symbol has now been incorporated with the globe. That was pretty cool.

I’m about to get into Heroes spoilers so if you don’t want to get spoiled, skip this paragraph.

Now some things make more sense (like how and why Nathan was shot). And they tried to make future Claire as badass as future Peter, but that didn’t quite work in my opinion. Tight leather is not the only defining quality of a badass, and that’s basically all they gave her. Anyway, I’m left with a few questions: Where did the present Peter go? (Edit: I realized he’s stuck in the bad guy’s body in Level 5) Where/what time period is Matt in? And we don’t know what the half of the formula can do nor who has the other half but I don’t think it would be the formula to give normal people powers since Suresh has already figured that out pretty easily (by the way, super strength was totally unoriginal plus Niki already has it) And it seems that the future Peter has his scar again, so he gets it later now? Or was that to make it easier to differentiate between the two so they put that back in? And what’s up with speedy girl? All this and more will hopefully be explained in episodes to come! I’m excited! But yeah, this show is interesting in that I don’t really know where it is going. Even though we see glimpses of the future, the characters keep changing it so we never really know what will happen. And Sylar’s immortal now! The only way to kill him will be to kill him in the past before he’s immortal… Hmmm…

And so I also watched the second episode of Fringe (I keep wanting to say The Fringe) and wow. Just Wow. That’s all I can say. That was creepy but cool. Just… crazy.

Anyway, Grey’s is taking its sweet time downloading… so I don’t think I’ll end up watching it today. Too bad…

So… the US presidential debate is going on as I write this (yes I’m writing this part beforehand since I didn’t finish watching half of my shows until after this) and I’m watching (random parts of) it on HD CNN which has like a scoreboard for McCain and Obama on the sides by CNN analysts as an HD extra (they have the extra screen space, why not use it?) and whenever I go to check it, Obama seems to be in the lead for most of them. (yay?) Also, that audience reaction thing at the bottom seems completely fake to me. They can probably guess the audience’s reaction, but I doubt they can do it accurately to get a political party breakdown of it. That’s a bit much in my opinion.

Anyway, I can’t listen to anymore of this US politics and I don’t even watch the news that much. Gah. Why is the world so screwed up. (That was a rhetorical question, although I can think of a few possible answers…)

I’ll keep this review short because Neo Angelique Abyss is one of the worst animes I have watched. The animation looks like it’s made from the 60s. The music is also average. The worst part is the plot and the characters. When the plot is about one girl living with four guys in the same house and fighting off tentacle monsters but at the same time it’s NOT a hentai, you know the series is terrible. That wouldn’t be too bad if the writers didn’t push their limits to destroy the show even more by making not one but all the characters as annoying as possible. I won’t go into details except all the guys act like girls and the only girl acts like the B-word. Angelique will be perfect choice if you want to experience a truly terrible anime. Otherwise stay away from it.

Pourpre POV: Intering idea of heroes who want to destroy instead of saving the world. I like the art, altough it differs a lot from the original from the game, it’s still interesting (the thing i do not like is that Morte looks way too old if we compare the video game art from the anime) and the seiyuu choice *w* (here we can here a different version of Maaya’s voice and Mamoru, well, i can recognize his voice anywhere LOL) The OP was ok, i liked the ed song better but the animatin is general looks good. I had i really bad time looking for the first ep but finally got it. [Crunchy already has it for the people who does not want to download it XP]

Now about the next season of VAMPIRE KNIGHT!!! Is to air in October this year T_T so we have to wait until them. Since there is not much about it yet i am leaving you the new logo XP

Hello minna-san!!! Here i am to talk about a new discovery of mine, when i was finally typing my SesshomaruxKagome fanfic T^T I can’t remember why but i happened to be looking aronud  on OneManga.com, when destiny decided that i should click on the Supernatural section, i was looking the mangas i knew and got to the Z… And there was a new manga which i had never heard so i clicked on it to check it out and guess what! The manga looked like Arinachi’s work! O_O and i was like: what?! Arina! Then i looked on the right to see the manga’s description and found out that it was INDEED from Arina Tanemura!!! *w* The new work of Arina Tanemura-sama! It was soo  fast! Because it passed like a week or two when Shinshi just finished! I remember reading on some corner that Arina was doing another work but i never imagined that i would come out so fast! But who cares! XD

The new manga from arina-chi is called Zettai Kakusei Tenshi Mistress Fortune, from what i know it will have only 3 chapters so its going to be a short one so Arina-chi can go on a break from Ribbon after finishing Shinshi Doumei Cross! I love Arina’s work!!! <3 Everything is so kawai! And i love her style!!! So pretty! x3

Nabari no Ou summary: Rokujou Miharu is a boy who has a hijutsu (hidden technique) living inside of him. This hijutsu is the power of creation. Many ninja clans are seeking it as the one who possesses it becomes the ruler of the ninja world. Rokujou’s classmate Kouichi started a nindou (“Way of the Ninja”) club at school with Kumohira, his English teacher. Both Kouichi and Kumohira are secretly ninjas. They tried to persuade Rokujou to join the ninjutsu club. At first, he was reluctant, but after being attacked by group of ninjas trying to get his hijutsu, he joins. Along with it, if you like shoujo stuff and breathtaking guys like you found in Kiniro Corda (La Corda D’Oro) i bet you’ll like Neo Angelique Abyss, in my opinion the story is not that good but if you like to enjoy yourself watching good looking guys then this is your choice [i fell in love with Rayne, the red-haired boy, at first sight! LOL] This is something you watch when you have nothing else to do… -_-;

La segunda temporada de la sorpresa de primavera, Neo Angelique Abyss, ha sido anunciada. La serie que tendrá por nombre, Neo Angelique Abyss -Second Age-, basada en el juego de fantasía y aventura Neo Angelique de KOEI, ha sido confirmada para julio de este año en Japón. La nueva serie de televisión será una secuela directa de la primera temporada, previamente mencionada, la cual ser transmitió en abril de este año con una duración de 13 episodios. Cabe mencionar que KOEI también ha creado otros productos y franquicias románticas siempre orientadas al género femenino, incluyendo la franquicia Angelique, de la cual se deriva la serie; Haruka – Beyond the Stream of Time- (algo así como: Haruka – Más allá de la corriente del Tiempo-) y la famosa La Corda D’Oro. Una primera temporada, en lo que he logrado ver de esta serie harem para mujeres, buena a secas en mi opinión ya que no es muy de mi agrado ver este tipo de harem (pero si ya le di la oportunidad a series yaoi, había que dársela a este tipo), esperemos que no decepcioné su secuela.

Se viene otra temporada encima con bastantes series. En esta ocasión se presentan una gran cantidad de OVA, así como también de series. Por el momento no hay datos exactos y al día de todas las series, siendo el dato más escaso la cantidad de episodios que va a tener cada serie, pero que iré actualizando conforme se vaya sabiendo. Esta vez me tomó dos días buscar toda la información en diferentes fuentes, ya que las generalmente conocidas no siempre tienen todo (tuve que leer algunas cositas en japonés, y soy bastante malo para eso, tuve que pedirle ayuda a un amigo). Espero que lo disfruten ya que me llevó una gran cantidad de tiempo realizarlo. Como siempre se me pasaron tal vez algunas series. Esto pudo ser porque no se encontró una cantidad de información pertinente de la misma, o faltaban demasiados datos clave. Con el paso y el acercamiento de la temporada, voy a ir actualizando las series y los datos para una información más puntual y exacta. En esta temporada, solo tendremos 21 series y no las 33 de la temporada pasada, y la verdad no se miran muy buenas, pero podríamos recibir una sorpresa. Un factor que influye en esto es la cantidad de series de 26 episodios que son de primavera y heredará el horario de verano. A cambio de series, se nos presentan una gran cantidad de OVA en esta ocasión, llegando a las 10. Disfruten.

Birdy the Mighty Decode

Su nombre en japonés sería Tetsuwan Birdy Decode. Será producida por A-1 Pictures Inc. Dirigida por Kazuki Akane (Ergo Proxy, Samurai Champloo) y con el diseño de personajes de Ryousuke Sawa (Naruto Película 3). Contará con la colaboración de diversos seiyuus como Mitsuishi Kotono (Fullmetal Alchemist, GTO, entre muchos otros), Iwanaga Tetsuya (Yu-gi-Oh!, El-Hazard), Yukana (Bleach, Code Geass), entre otros. Basada en el manga de Masami Yuki, la historia se centra en Tsutomu Senkawa, un chico promedio de high school (demasiado cliché, pero bueno, no todas resultan mal) que se encuentra ocupado estudiando para sus examenes. Después de un día arduo de estudio, sale a tomar un poco de aire, cuando se choca con un chico volando con una bella jóvencita. El chico, en efecto es un criminal interplanetario que ha escapado de un agente de la Federación llamada Birdy Cephon Altera. Atrapado en medio de la conmoción, Tsutomu es lanzado por el criminal contra Birdy, lo que provoca su muerte. Afortunadamente para Tsutomu existe una manera de mantenerlo vivo, aunque el precio es que debe dejar atrás su cuerpo, por lo que termina fusionándose con Birdy. Juntos tendrán que lidiar con los problemas familiares de Tsutomu, y las obligaciones de policía de Birdy para parar a un grupo de aliens malvados de llevar a cabo experimentos sobre ciudadanos de Tokio. Bueno, esto se me hace un poco a Cinderella Man, pero con una mujer mucho menos sexy XD y un poco mas raro, ya que el hombre es una mujer también ahora. Habrá que darle un vistazo para ver que tal es la serie.

Batman Gotham Knight

Serie basada en uno de los héroes mas populares del creador de historietas americano DC Comics, creada originalmente por Bob Kane y Bill Finger en el año 1938. La serie estará siendo producida por una colaboración de Madhouse, Production I.G. y Studio 4ºC, por lo que se espera una producción de una calidad insuperable. Dirigida por Shojiro Nishimi (Akira), Futoshi Higashide (Yu-Gi-Oh! 5D’s), Hiroshi Morioka (.hack//), Yasuhiro Aoki (Sailor Moon), Toshiyuki Kubooka (iDOLM@STER: XENOGLOSSIA) y Jong-Sik Nam (Animal Yokocho). Kevin Conroy será la voz del caballero negro en todas las diferentes producciones, cabe mencionar que ha trabajado en otras series animadas de Batman. La producción será de 6 filmes cortos, al puro estilo de The Animatrix, escritas por americanos y producidas por japoneses. Cada historia contará una parte importante de la vida de Bruce Wayne que puede ir desde su niñez hasta sucesos que no se conocen a la perfección en otras publicaciones. En japonés Mugen no Jūnin. Producida por Bee Train, con la dirección de Koichi Mashimo (serie .hack//, Yatterman) y el diseño de personajes Yoshimitsu Yamashita (Bleach, Blood+). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Rina Satou (Serie Negima, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann), Tomozaku Seki (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Full Metal Panic!) y Daisuke Namikawa (Full Metal Panic!, Gantz), entre otros. El opening se llama Akai Usagi de Makura no Sōshi, y el ending Wants de GRAPEVINE. Basada en la serie manga de Hiroaki Samura. Mangi es un samurai bastante violento con una habilidad especial: no puede morir. Maldito con la inmortalidad por la monja Yobikuni como castigo por sus pecados, ha estado viviendo sin envejecer desde ese momento. La única manera de remover la maldición es matar a 1000 hombres malos, por lo que Manji empieza a viajar por todo Japón matando a todo aquel desafortunado que se interponga en su camino, para así poder finalmente morir en paz. Espadas, Sangre, Muerte, Samurais? Apuntado.

Chocolate Underground

Producida por Production I.G., Trace Arts y Studio Uni, con la dirección de Takayuki Hamana (Library War, Prince of Tennis) y el diseño de personajes Takayuki Goto (Hunter x Hunter, Ghost in the Shell). Basada en la novela Bootleg de Alex Shearer, la serie será transmitida por Internet como principal medio. En la serie, la asociación “Bien por Ti” ha impuesto una ley que prohibe el consumo de chocolate después de las 5 de la tarde, que ha sido llamada “Ley de la Prohibición del Chocolate” (que original XD). La misma prohibe el consumo de todas las comidas dulces, inclyendo el chocolate, ya que este es dañino para la salud. Dos chicos, Huntley y Smudger, crean un plan contra la ley, el cual consiste en crear chocolate de contrabando con la ayuda de otros amigos, para su consumo y venta del mismo. Este libro también tiene una adaptación de un filme inglés que no es nada malo en mi opinión.

COBRA THE ANIMATION

Creada, adaptada y dirigida por el mangaka y director Buichi Terasawa (Space Adventure Cobra). Contará con los seiyuus Nachi Nozawa (Dr. Slump, Hellsing) y Yoshiko Sakakibara (Hellsing, Mobile Suit Gundam serie). Cobra es un pirata espacial bastante conocido y famoso que decido cambiar su cara y así borrar toda su memoria. Se convierte en un chico común, con un trabajo común y una vida bastante aburrido, hasta que de repente empieza a recordarse de cosas de su verdadera identidad y una nueva aventura empieza. La verdad, es que no soy muy fan de este tipo de diseño de personajes con cierto aire “vintage”, ya que ya me acostumbre a los efectos que le insertan ahora a las series, así que creo que voy a pasar con esta.

Detroit Metal City

Basada en el manga publicado en la revista Young Animal. Negishi Souichi deja la granja de su familia en la Prefectura Oita por la brillante ciudad de Tokio. En la ciudad logra cambiar su gusto musical que era del pop sueco a el death metal, tomando el rol de un vocalista en el trio Death Metal City y cambiando su nombre a Johannes Krauser II. Algo verdaderamente…fresco? O.o. Más bien bizarro, pero en los rankings de ventas de manga, esta serie tiene bastante éxito, así que por algo será, pero no pienso verla.

Hidamari Sketch x 365

Otra de las series high school de la temporada, que personalmente no me ha atraído por el diseño de los personajes. Es producida por SHAFT, con la dirección de Akiyuki Shinbo (Hidamari Sketch, ef – a tale of memories) y el diseño de personajes por parte de Yoshiaki Ito (Sayonara Zetsubo Sensei). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Kana Asumi (Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann), Kaori Mizuhashi (Aria, Hidamari Sketch) y Yuko Goto (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya como Mikuru), entre otros. El opening lleva por nombre “Hatena de Wasshoi” interpretada por los seiyuus Kana Asumi, Kaori Mizuhashi, Ryoko Shintani & Yuko Goto , y el ending “Ryūsei Record” por marble . Basada en el tira cómica japonesa realizada por Ume Aoki. Esta serie viene a ser la continuación de la primera temporada, que únicamente se llamaba Hidamari Sketch. La historia se centra alrededor de una jovencita llamada Yuno que logra ser aceptada en el Yamabuki High School, después de bastante tiempo. Para poder atender a clases, Yuno se muda y empieza a vivir en un pequeño apartamento llamado Apartamentos Hidamari, localizados cerca del instituto. Estando ahí, empieza a hacer nuevas amigas como Miyako, Hiro y Sae; todas de segundo año. La historia no tiene una linea de historia definida, solo se basa en la vida diaria de las estudiantes. La verdad, ya me esperaba que empezaran a salir clones de Lucky Star, a causa del éxito que gozó dicha serie. Pero esperaba otro tipo de diseño de personajes, ya que los actuales me han quitado mucho las ganas de verla, pero si en algún momento me topo con algún buen fansub, le podría dar una oportunidad, aunque tendría que ver la primera temporada XD.

Hoshi no Umi no Amuri

También conocida como Amuri in Star Ocean. Producida por Studio Hibari bajo la dirección de Yoshitomo Yonetani (Mobile Suit Gundam), y diseño de personajes de MA@YA. Cuenta con seiyuus como Michiru Aizawa (Simoun), Momoko Saito (iDOLM@STER: XENOGLOSSIA) y Yui Makino (Sketchbook ~full color’S~). El anime en 3D toma lugar en el año 019 de la Revolución Progresiva Insonity (la verdad no se que significa esa palabra, y no encontre traducción), en una era en la que la humanidad ha evolucionado en nuevas especies llamadas Adaptadores. Tres chicas jóvenes muy populares de Japón, China y Francia se embarcan en un viaje espacial lleno de aventuras que afectarán al resto de las especies. La verdad se miran bastante bien los dibujos, y lo bueno de las OVA es que siempre son de gran calidad, creo que le voy a dar una oportunidad.

Ikkitousen – Great Guardians

Una de las series que más temprano van a salir este verano, ya que saldrá en junio, y no en julio como están calendarizadas las demás. Producida por ARMS (Elfen Lied), con la dirección de Koichi Ohata (Ikkitousen: Dragon Destiny) y el diseño de personajes Rinshin (Body Transfer), el cual ha trabajado en proyectos hentai. Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Masumi Asano (.hack//, Monochrome Factor), Satoshi Hino (Ikkitousen serie, Shakugan no Shana) y Yuko Kaida (Ikkitousen serie, Naruto), entre otros. Basada en el manga de Yuki Shiozaki, que basó su historia en la novela china clásica, El Romance de los Tres Reinos o simplemente Los Tres Reinos como comúnmente se le conoce. La historia trata sobre siete instituciones académicas y los estudiantes de las mismas, que están en una guerra constante entre todas. Los estudiantes han logrado convertirse en peleadores habilidosos y constantemente pelean contra las instituciones enemigas. Sus vidas y destinos están guiados por unas joyas extrañas que contienen espíritus de guerreros del período Sangokushi. Una chica llamada Sonsaku Hakufu, se mudo recientemente a Japón y aparentemente está destinada a unir a las siete instituciones. Pero no todo es tan fácil, ya que tendrá que lidiar con un sinfín de problemas para poder llevar a cabo esta hazaña. Esta es la tercera temporada de la serie, que personalmente nunca pude pasar del primer episodio de la primera temporada, ya que se me hacía pobre en historia y aburrida. Fanservice y peleas son una combinación letal, en todo el sentido de la palabra. Mejor miren Tenjho Tenge; si les gusta, no habrá problema con esta serie (Tenjho Tenge no es mala, la verdad me gusto, pero para probar sus gustos).

Kimi ga Nozomu Eien ~Next Season~

Producida por Brains Base, bajo la dirección de Hideki Takayama (Vampire Hunter) y el diseño de personajes de Kazuhiko Tamura (Case Closed). Participan seiyuus como Chiaki Takahashi (Cosplay Complex, School Days), Kishô Taniyama (Buso Renkin, Junjo Romantica) y Minami Kuribayashi (School Days). El opening es “Next Season” y el ending “eternity” de Minami Kuribayashi. Basada en el juego eroge del mismo nombre, y la serie de TV que tuvo un final diferente. Después de que Takayuki y Haruka se hiciera novios tres años atrás y ella sufriera el accidente; Haruka Suzumiya despierta de un largo coma, pero el tiempo le ha robado muchas cosas importantes. Sin embargo, todavía hay algo que permanece en ella. Su novio de hace tres años, Takayuki Narumi, esta totalmente entregado a ella. La lleva de visita a varios lugares que ellos recuerdan para tratar de recuperar esos tres años perdidos. No obstante, siempre hay un lugar al cual nunca hay que acercarse siquiera: la cabina telefónica en donde sucedió el accidente de Haruka tres años atras. Esta serie de OVA sigue el “Camino de Haruka” a diferencia de la serie de televisión. En la temporada de verano solo se nos presenta la última de las tres OVA, que está totalmente recomendada, las dos anteriores son de muy buena calidad.

Producida por SHAFT, con la dirección de Nobuaki Nakanishi (Cardcaptor Sakura) y el diseño de personajes de Miwa Oshima (Sailor Moon, Star Ocean). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Emi Motoi (Cardcaptor Sakura), y Hiroka Nishizawa (Shadow), entre otros. El opening , y el ending . Basada en el juego del mismo nombre que fue también basado en la novela El Romance de los Tres Reinos, con elementos de comedia y amor, y un reparto de personajes casi enteramente femenino. Se han oido rumores de que el reparto de protagonistas sobrepasa las 30. Fanservice? Mujeres sobreproporcionadas y hermosas? 30 Mujeres?!?! Apuntadísimo!!!

La entrega más esperada de la temporada (al menos para mi XD). Producida por Kyoto Animation, bajo la dirección de Yasuhiro Takemoto (Lucky Star, Kanon) y la dirección de arte de Seiki Tamura (The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star). Todas las seiyuus volverán con sus respectivos personajes; Aya Hirano como Konata Izumi; Emiri Katou como Kagami Hiiragi; Kaori Fukuhara como Tsukasa Hiiragi; y Aya Endo como Miyuki Takara. Esta OVA será una secuela directa de la serie de anime. Esperemos que le haga honor a tan buena serie.

Mahō Sensei Negima! ~Shiroki Tsubasa Ala Alba~

Otra serie de OVAs que tendrán su primera entrega en Agosto son las de Negima! El estudio a cargo es SHAFT, bajo la dirección de Akiyuki Shinbo (Hidamari Sketch, Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei), y el diseño de personajes de Minoru Mihara (Zoku Sayonara Zetsubō Sensei, Negima!?). La serie de anime y manga creada por Ken Akamatsu (Love Hina) contiene una gran cantidad de fan service y ecchi, que lo ha hecho famoso. La serie ya cuenta actualmente con una gran cantidad de proyectos de animación y dibujo. La serie contará con tres OVAs. La primera cubrirá los capítulos 176 y 177 del manga, y saldrá en Agosto 12 de 2008. Las otras se esperan para Noviembre 2008 y Febrero 2009.

Mahō Tsukai ni Taisetsu na Koto: ~Natsu no Sora~

En inglés Someday’s Dreamers: Spellbound. Producida por Hal Film Maker, con la dirección de Osamu Kobayashi (Heat Guy J, Tengen Toppa Gurren-Lagann) y dirección de arte de Toshiharu Iijima (Hidamari Sketch). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Kana Hanazawa (Blassreiter), Tomoaki Maeno (Library War) y Daisuke Namikawa (Full Metal Panic!, Gantz), entre otros. Basada en el manga escrito por Norie Yamada e ilustrado por Kumichi Yoshizuki, que fue publicado en la revista Comic Dragon. LA historia toma lugar en el presente Tokyo. Bastante de los ámbitos en la historia están basados en lugares reales. En Tokyo existe una Oficina de Magia, en donde personas normales los contratan para pedidos especiales. Sin embargo los magos solo pueden usar magia bajo un permiso especial o los podrían multar. En este mundo, Nami tiene el poder de usar magia, pero con su personalidad tonta no la puede controlar del todo. Cuando conoce a Ryotaro Tominaga en un choque de bicicleta, ella se enamora de él y se pone nerviosa cuando lo mira, mientras que a Ryotaro no le agrada Nami. Ella es una chica con un corazón y alma buenos, pero le falta el coraje y el espíritu para tomar decisiones en su vida y en lo que respecta a la magia. Esta como muchas otras series de la temporada es una secuela, así que si quieren seguirla tendrán que ver la temporada anterior. La verdad, el tipo de dibujos melancólico no me molesta, si la serie está bien realizada puede hacer el ambiente perfecto para una serie de drama buena. Esperemos a ver algunas tomas para dar una opinión final.

También conocida como Mai Otome 0~S.ifr. Producida por Sunrise, bajo la dirección y diseño de personajes de Hirokazu Hisayuki (My-Otome). Cuenta con seiyuus como Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass), Aya Endo (Lucky Star) y Yuko Sanpei (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!), entre otros. Esta es la precuela de My-Otome, la serie anime para la televisión, en la que se siguen los eventos antes de la susodicha serie. Esta serie, se enfoca en los orígenes de Lena Sayers, la madre de Akira Yumemiya y el antiguo portador de la Blue Sky Saffire GEM, y Sifr Fran, la madre biológica de Nina Wang y antigua reina del Reino Windbloom, así como los orígenes de Schwartz, Aswad y la Academia Garderobe. El secuestro de Sifr y la poderosa revelación de la GEM de Lena determinarán el destino y el futuro para ellas y todos los que las rodean. Otra serie de OVA, ahora una precuela, pero que se mira bastante atractiva, así que la voy a empezar a ver.

Mission-E

Es la secuela a la serie de 2007, llamada CODE-E . Producida por Studio DEEN, con la dirección de Toshiyuki Kato (CODE-E, Getbackers). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Mai Hashimoto (CODE-E), Yuuna Inamura (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!), entre otros. Basada en el concepto original de Ichiro Sakaki, Mission-E es una secuela, como ya se mencionó, de CODE-E, mbientada cinco años después del episodio final en un Japón no muy lejano. Esta nueva entrega tendrá a una nueva protagonista llamda Maori Kimizuka, quien se unirá a Ebihira Chinami, la líder de la primera temporada. Ambas son usuarias TYPE-E que usan unos curiosos uniformes y tienen habilidades supernaturales cuando los usan. El lugar en donde Chinami y Maori trabajan, OZ, tiene como meta la adaptación de usuarios de TYPE-E en la socidad. Caso contrario, la Fundación, trata de aislar completamente y controlar a los TYPE-E para sus propios beneficios. La verdad no me ha terminado de llamar la atención ninguno de estos aspectos pero habrá que ver algunas fotos preliminares más para tomar una decisión.

Natsume Yūjin-Chō

En inglés Natsume Book of Friends (Libro de Amigos de Natsume, en español). Producida por Brains Base, con la dirección de Takahiro Omori (Hell Girl) y dirección de arte de Yukihiro Shibutani (Akira, Sakura Wars). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Hiroshi Kamiya (Fate/stay night, Honey and Clover) y Kazuhiko Inoue (Candy candy, Cyborg 009, Detective Conan), entre otros. El opening será “Issei no Koe” de Shūhei Kita. La historia se centra en Natsume Takashi, que tiene la habilidad de ver espíritus, la cual ha mantenido en secreto. Sin embargo, hereda un libro extraño que le pertenecía a su fallecida abuela, Reiko, y descubre la razón por la que puede ver los espíritus que lo rodean. El libro tiene escrito el nombre de dichos espíritus, un contrato es formado entre los espíritus y el dueño del libro en cuanto éste lo recibe. Decidido, Natsume está determinado a liberar a los espíritus y disolver dicho contrato. Con la ayuda de un espíritu gato, sus días estarán dedicados a dicha misión. La verdad es que el diseño no me parece malo ni la historia, podría darle una oportunidad para seguirla esta temporada, aunque todo dependerá de la calidad con que sea realizada.

Neo Angelique Abyss -Second Age-

La continuación de una de las series con más aceptación de este año. Producida por KOEI, se desconocen los miembros del staff de producción. Aya Endo (Lucky Star, Sekirei), Daisuke Ono (World Destruction) y Hiroki Takahashi (Bus Gamer, Death Note), serán parte del cast de seiyuus entre otros. El tema del opening es “SILENT DESTINY” por Ōbuhantā 4, mientras el ending será “Kataomoi no Chiisana Koi” por Tegomasu. La historia será una secuela a los eventos de esta serie harem para mujeres, que sucedieron en la primera temporada.

Nogizaka Haruka no Himitsu

En inglés Haruka Nogizaka’s Secret (El Secreto de Haruka Nogizaka). Producida por Studio Barcelona (Kodomo no Jikan), con la dirección de Munemori Nawa (D.C.S.S. ~Da Capo Second Season~) y el diseño de personajes de Satoshi Ishino (Bleach, Basilisk). Contará con la participación de los seiyuus Mamiko Noto (Ah! My Goddess, Clannad) y Wataru Hatano (Basilisk, Monochrome Factor), entre otros. Basada en la serie de light novels por Yūsaku Igarashi, ilustrada por Shaa. La historia se centra en Ayase Yuko y Nogizaka Haruka. Yuto es bastante ordinario, mientras que Haruka es atractiva, inteligente y rica, lo que hace que otros estudiantes la sigan y admiren, tanto que hasta le ponen apodos franceses como “Nuit Étoile” (La Estrella plateada de la noche) y “Lumière du Clavier” (La Brillante Princesa en el Piano) La verdad que apodos más sin oficio. Un día, Yuko va a la librería de la escuela para devolver, cuando se topa accidentalmente con Haruka, descubriendo en el acto, el secreto más oscuro de ella: es una hardcore fan del anime y manga, u otaku jajajajajaja wtf?!. Posterior a eso le promete guardar su secreto, y se vuelve en su consejero y confidente, por lo que empieza a salir más con ella, yendo a su casa constantemente y acompañándola a Akihabara. La verdad no parece una serie fanservice aparte del hecho de una chica otaku, y la trama no se oye del todo mal, me pareció atrayente, posiblemente en la lista a ver.

RoboDz Kazagumo Hen

Anime coproducido por Toei Animatino y The Walt Disney Company. Con la dirección de Daisuke Nishio (Director de la saga de Dragon Ball), y el diseño de personajes de Naoki Miyahara (Digimon, Xenosaga). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Eiji Takemoto (Beast Wars II, Cosmo Warrior Zero), Kazue Ikura (Hakaba Kitarō) y Ryotaro Okiayu (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, D.N.Angel), entres otros. Tres robots compañeros que llevan los nombres de Sombrenosuke, Nejimaru y Drum-Kan-Bē conviven en un mismo mundo con los humanos, hasta que la Corporación Baddoru, conformada por alienígenas invade dicho mundo por lo que deberán hacerles frente. SIN COMENTARIOS….. lo voy a omitir a toda costa.

En inglés School Rumble: Third Term (School Rumble: Tercer Trimestre). Producido por Studio Comet, bajo la dirección de Shinji Takamatsu (School Rumble, Yu-Gi-Oh!); y dirección de arte y diseño de personajes por Hajime Watanabe (Eyeshield 21, Kaleido Star). Contará con seiyuus como Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass), Hiroki Konishi (School Rumble) y Hiroki Takahashi (Hunter X Hunter, Real Drive), entre otros. Basada en el manga de Jin Kobayashi, es una secuela directa a las temporadas anteriores. La trama de School Rumble cubre las vidas diarias de estudiantes del Yagami High School y sus alrededores. La heroína es Tenma Tsukamoto, una estudiante del instituto que no tiene ninguna cualidad especial y está enamorada de Oji Karasuma, un chico excéntrico. Todo se complica cuando Kenji Harima, se enamora de Tenma y se empieza a formar una clase de círculo amoroso. Mientras la historia progresa, ésta sufre cambios y se enfoca más en la relación que se desarrolla entre Harima y un amigo de Tenma, Eri Sawachika, que resulta en varias situaciones embarazosas entre ellos. Harima también tiene una relación con la hermana menor de Tenma, Yakumo Tsukamoto. Más adelante, Harima empieza a tener situaciones románticas con Tenma, mientras otras relaciones también se van haciendo fuertes. Como ven, es una sola confusión las relaciones, como para molestarse en verla de una manera seria XD. La dejo a discreción.

Sekirei

Producida por Seven Arcs y Wins, con la dirección de Keizou Kusakawa (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha serie) y el diseño de personajes por Shinpei Tomooka (Magical Girl Lyrical Nanoha). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Saori Hayami (Wagaya no Oinarisama) y Shinnosuke Tachibana (Myself;Yourself, Romeo x Juliet), entre otros. El opening se llama “Sekirei”, y el ending “Dear sweet heart” Saori Hayami, Marina Inoue, Kana Hanazawa, y Aya Endo. Basada en el manga de Sakurako Gokurakuin, que fue publicado en la revista Young Gangan. La historia es sobre Minato, que es un total perdedor. Ha fallado dos veces los exámenes de ingreso a la universidad, no es popular con las mujeres y está desempleado. Un día el conoce a una chica deslizándose inhumanamente rápido por la calle, que está siendo perseguida por dos bandidos con poderes eléctricos. Desde ese día la vida de Minato cambió para siempre. La chica, Misubi, no es ordinaria; es una Sekirei, que de repente le da a Minato el poder de un Ashikabi, que es un grupo de maestros en una batalla entre hordas de chicas lindas y hombres con poderes individuales especiales llamados “Sekireis”. Eventualmente la capacidad real de Minato sale a la superficie, lo que hace que su inútil ser se convierta en un líder. Serie fanservice en todos los aspectos, el diseño de los personajes se mira muy bien por lo que es casi seguro que la mire, aunque la historia no es nada del otro mundo.

En inglés Antique Bakery. Producida por Nippon Animation y Shirogumi Inc. dirigida por Yoshiaki Okumu (Eyeshield 21) y dirección de arte por Tatsuo Shimamura (Eyeshield 21). Participan los seiyuus Eiji Hanawa (Hataraki Man) y Keiji Fujiawara (Baccano!, Crayon Shin-chan), entre otros. El Opening y el ending son la misma canción “Life goes on” por CHEMISTRY. Basada en el manga yaoi por Fumi Yoshinaga. Tachibana, nieto de un hombre de negocios adinerado; Ono Yuusuke, famoso chef pastelero y un homosexual diabólico; Kanda Eiji, un joven boxeador retirado con una obsesión por los pasteles; Kobayakawa Chikage, un amigo sirviente de Tachibana e interés romántico de Ono, quien es torpe pero serio y estoico. Juntos, estos cuatro hombres mantendrán un pequeño pero elegante café llamado “Antique”, donde ellos y todos sus clientes pueden llegar a probar y admirar una de las pocas cosas verdaderamente importantes de la vida (>.<): los pasteles. Me recuerda mucho a Junjo Romantica esta serie, con diferente temática pero habrá que ver.

Slayers REVOLUTION

Producida por J.C. Staff, con la dirección de Takashi Watanabe (Full Metal Panic!, Shakugan no Shana); y el diseño de personajes de Naomi Miyata (Slayers, serie) y Rui Araizumi (Slayers, serie). Contará con la participación de los seiyuus Akira Ishida (Berserk, D.N.Angel), Megumi Hayashibara (Love Hina, Slayers) y Yasunori Matsumoto (Slayers, Eureka Seven), entre otros. El opening es “Plenty of Grit” y el ending es “Revolution” de Megumi Hayashibara. Basada en la serie de 15 light novel de Hajime Kanzaka. Esta es la cuarta temporada de esta serie. En esta temporada, la historia toma lugar en el tiempo en que Lina y Gourry empiezan un nuevo viaje en busca de la nueva espada mágica de Gourry. También incluirá un nuevo personaje llamado Pocota, que se dice que tiene un Esclavo Dragon que usa la Espada de la Luz. Sylpiel y el príncipe Phil también aparecerán en esta entrega. Un clásico, no se puede perder.

Strike Witches

Producida por Gonzo, con la dirección y diseño de personajes de Kazuhiro Takamura (Blood+), y dirección de animación de Hiromasa Ogura (Samurai 7, Appleseed). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Misato Fukuen (Rosario + Vampire), Ami Koshimizu (Code Geass) y Chiwa Saito (Kanokon), entre otros. Basada en una serie de ilustraciones llamada Mecha Musume por Humikane Shimada, que también ayudo en el diseño para la OVA de esta serie. El mundo está bajo ataque por parte de unas entidades misteriosas que han aparecido. Solo unas chicas que poseen habilidades mágicas serán capaces de pelear contra esta amenaza. Para esto, ellas instalan armamento en sus propios cuerpos y se involucran en una batalla sobre la tierra, mar y aire. Las batallas de estas chicas por defender su tierra decidirán el destino del mundo. Como toda serie de Gonzo, puede ser que sea muy buena o muy mala, esperemos que sea la primera. Serie demasiado original, pero demasiado tonta a mi parecer. Armas en el cuerpo?! Y Chicas con ellas en vez de piernas?! Wow! Eso fue un detonador para casi ni meter la serie en el post.

Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Emiri Katou (Lucky Star), Hiroki Shimowada (Wolf’s Rain), Kana Ueda (Fate/stay night, Hayate the Combat Butler) y Tomozaku Seki (Bobobo-bo Bo-bobo, Full Metal Panic!). El opening se llama “Aoi Kakera” de Chara, y el ending “Yakō” por onso9line. Adaptada de las novelas escritas por Atsuko Asano. La historia se centra sobre Ran, un brillante y energético estudiante de primer año que posee habilidades supernaturales. Juntos, con Midori (su amiga que posee también habilidades) y Rui, se encuentran constantemente en situaciones misteriosas. Ran está confundido con sus poderes porque parece que las personas con las que se junta, son afectadas por los mismos sacando intenciones raras de ellos. Sin embargo, con el apoyo de su familia y compañeros, Ran aprende a controlar con su otro lado y se acepta como es. El trio también aprende como ser un equipo y resolver estos problemas. Pues si le meten un poco de comedia, podría darle una oportunidad. A falta de series buenas esta temporada, podría darle una oportunidad.

Como el personaje principal estelarizará la seiyuu Romi Paku (Amatsuki, Bleach) como 044. Basada en la trama del filme estadounidense del mismo nombre, aunque vagamente. El personaje principal “044″ es una guerrera que ha sido genéticamente alterada para tener un alto nivel de habilidades de combate y ha sido ordenada por el gobierno para aniquilar una armada completa de vampiros. Esperemos que el paso de los filmes al anime no arruine la serie.

World Destruction

Producida por Production I.G., con la dirección de Shunsuke Tada (The Prince of Tennis, Tsubasa Tokyo Revelations) y el diseño de personajes de Kinihiko Tanaka (Xenosaga) . El opening y el ending estrán a cargo de Yoshihiro Ike, que también se encargará de la música en general de la serie. Los seiyuus (Mamoru Miyano (Death Note, Gundam 00), Maaya Sakamoto (Escaflowne, Tsubasa), entre otros, participarán en la serie. Basada en el juego para Nintendo DS del mismo nombre. La serie es acerca de un chico llamado Kirie Irunisu que posee el poder de destruir el mundo. Mientras que un lado busca salvar el mundo, el otro lado busca erradicarlo y construir uno nuevo, lo que obliga a unirse a alguno de ambos bandos. Personalmente, me gustaron mucho los dibujos y no se mira que vaya a estar mal la serie. De las propuesta que miraré esta temporada.

Yakushiji Ryōko no Kaiki Jikenbo

En inglés Ryoko’s Case File. Producida por Dogakobo, con la dirección de Tarou Iwasaki (Fullmetal Alchemist) y el diseño de personajes de Junichiro Taniguchi (Fullmetal Alchemist, XXXHOLiC). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Hidenobu Kiuchi (Katekyo Hitman Reborn!, Monster) y Hitomi Nabatame (Gantz, Ikkitousen), entre otros. Adaptada de la serie de light novels de Yoshiki Tanaka. La historia gira alrededor de Ryōko Yakushiji, una investigadora multilingue de 27 años, graduada de la facultad de Derecho de la Universidad de Tokyo, y los casos que ella enfrentará mientras trabaja para el Departamento Metropolitana de Policía. Yakushiji no solo tiene que lidiar con seres supernaturales en su trabajo, sino también a su rival Yukiko Muromachi, otra igualmente talentosa y bella investigadora policíaca. No se mira nada mal el diseño de los personajes, y la historia podría ser una buena serie policíaca.

Zero no Tsukaima: Princesses no Rondo

Producida por J.C. Staff, con la dirección de Yuu Kou (Blood+, Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi ) y el diseño de personajes por Eiji Usatsuka (Zero no Tsukaima: Futatsuki no Kishi). Contará con la participación de seiyuus como Rie Kugimiya (Fullmetal Alchemist, Gintama) y Satoshi Hino (Ikkitousen, Shakugan no Shana), entre otros. El opening es “YOU’RE THE ONE” de ICHIKO , y el ending “Gomen ne” por Rie Kugimiya. Basada en. Es la tercera temporada de la adaptación de la serie de light novels de Noboru Yamaguchi. Esta temporada es una secuela directa de las temporadas anteriores, en donde se conoce a Louise, una maga que estudia en la Academia Tristein, en donde la llaman “Zero Louise”, ya que tiene un récord de cero éxitos usando magia. De hecho, su magia tiende a ir espectacularmente mal. Ahora, con un importante examen de aptitud de magia en camino, ella deberá invocar a un familiar para ser su sirviente. En este momento crítico, ella usa toda su magia e invoca a un familiar que sea “devoto, hermoso y poderoso”, y obtiene a Hiraga Saito, que es un chico ordinario japonés. Es difícil decir quien está más sorprendido, pero las reglas no permiten segundos intentos, por lo que Louise y su extraño familiar deberán sobreponerse a los problemas venideros. Serie Fanservice, 3er round! A falta de series fanservice esta temporada, creo que me inclinaré por terminar de ver Zero no Tsukaima, aunque no es del todo malo XD.

In episode 5, the Religious Leader sends an invitation for Angelique to come talk with him/her/it.

So Angelique and her harem (now known as the Aube Knights because of the newspaper article from the last episode) set off for the capital to meet with the Religious Leader. We get some more background on Ange’s being the ‘Queen’s Egg’ here – apparently the Queen is a goddess of sorts, meaning that Ange is some sort of religious figure herself now.

Along the way to the capital, the group stops at Ange’s old school to see her friends. But then everyone comes rushing and fangirling at Ange, so her friends wave and say they’ll see her later. Ange looks sad as they leave, and Hyuuga (the harem member with the white hair) emos by the carriage. After the school visit, the group stops in a village for the night. The village has recently been attacked by Thanatos, and a little girl asks Ange to heal her mother. But Ange feels too much pressure from all the villagers watching her and fails to do so, putting doubt in her mind. Ange and her harem decide to sleep outside.

Before going to sleep, Ange talks a little about her past. Her parents were killed in a Thanatos attack while they were helping those who were injured (both her parents were doctors). Ange’s father shielded her from a blow from the Thanatos, rendering him dead. Rayne and J.D. go to sleep, but Hyuuga has another emo moment by a tree while Nyx makes coffee (or tea?). Angelique angsts in a field of flowers over the failure of her m4d h34ling pow3rz. Nyx goes to talk to her after drinking his mysterious hot liquid. They disagree about whether she can save everyone or not, but Ange feels better. We also have a harem moment when Nyx promises to stay with her always and then offers her his coat.

The next day, Angelique successfully heals the little girl’s mother. Hooray! go the villagers. And they set off. The rest of the journey is shown in speed form – light instrumental music over images of passing time in the carriage, camping out, J.D. having a vision in water, and changing scenery. Hyuuga emos in the rain at some point while driving the carriage.

The capital is reached in the snowy mountains. Hyuuga remains behind with the carriage, stating that he doesn’t want to defile the ‘Holy Capital’ since he left the Silver Wood Knights before (they’re the ones who work for the apparently religious government). Ange leaves him behind somewhat reluctantly, and far above we see that two mysterious strangers (TM) are watching. One of them looks like he might be a trap.

The story continues to be fairly run of the mill, but still presents enough to keep watching. This was a really predictable episode, though – Angelique’s failure to heal the woman under pressure was not shocking in the slightest. The guys remain largely as cardboard cut-outs, but I’m remaining hopeful that somehow they’ll become a little more characterized in the future.

It was good to learn a little more about Ange’s background and the nature of the land she lives in – the whole thing about being the Queen’s Egg and what it exactly meant hadn’t been really clear to this point. Although the two mysterious characters weren’t all that mysterious looking I am curious as to who they’ll turn out to be, since I don’t think they’ll be added to the harem (the OP only shows prominently the four we’ve already gotten). I also wanna know if that guy is a trap or not.
