I’m very glad you’re looking through my blog and wanna tell you though I’m still beginner in WordPress, but here you’ll read all the news, all the events happened to me. I’ll try to blog daily, but because of time limitation sometimes I’ll miss it. So, welcome to my world! Here you’ll be always welcome!

I have decided I will start yet a third blog. I used to post and enjoy feedback from a couple of other blogs about my photography when I purchased my Fujifilm Finepix, but unfortunately these folks stopped this wonderful practice on their blogs. I think it was just too much time for them. Well hey, I am a mom with grown children now, and I have plenty of time at night to help maintain a blog like this.

I hope many people, like me, will find it useful. Keep your eyes open for the announcement of this new blog soon. I want to welcome folks to share their photos and information on this blog, as well as helping answer “dumb questions like mine.”

I have asked my blog friend at Still Format in Columbia Carlos if he would be willing to be a guest writer and provide some wonderful hints for all of us. Carlos uses several cameras I believe, but I know he uses a Canon EOS 400D. If you have not checked out Still Format, be sure and visit each day and see Carlos’ wonderful photography. Carlos is actually a medical advisor and consulting physician and travels a lot — so visiting his photography blog will be like a continuous world traveling experience as well. If he is as good a physician as photographer, I wish he had been my physician in July when I decided to become Miss Achy Breaky in my bathroom. Yes, Miss Achy Breaky is my new nickname. When I am aching with the arthritis  this is the name I gave myself. We also call my rheumatoid arthritis and Osteoarthritis “Arthur” and “Oscar.” Phillip and I have to find a little bit of comedy in these multiple ailments of mine!

I personally want to thank Carlos for being so willing to share his time and knowledge with others. I know he does not have the spare time on his hands with being a doctor and traveling so much. Look forward to some wonderful information in the future to help you with your photography as well.

Also, I must mention another two blog friends of mine – Sheila of Dr. Cason and Diane of Adventures in Dementia. Both use Canons and achieve absolutely glorious results. Sheila is the person who really inspired me to want to improve my photography with her blog, and Diane encourages me as she “thinks” she is learning (hah) — looks pretty dang good to me already, Diane. Don’t tell them, but I’m going to ask them to write also if they will. Don’t tell them yet though, okay.

I am so excited already about the ease with which I have been able to take photographs with my new Canon XS. I absolutely adore this camera so far. It even has a cable to allow you to use your USB port to program your camera directly from your computer. Amazing, huh! You can bet I will be trying out that feature — computers are my friend.

Better go for now. I want to start building this new blog tonight. I’ll let everyone know when it is up and running. This one may be hosted on Blogger too — we will see. I kind of want to be able to share information about good prices and sales I find on the blog for other Canon users. Unfortunately, WordPress will not let me do this on their servers. Oh well, nighty, night, time to build a new blog!

After becoming a recent blog surfer, I’ve decided I very much enjoy reading about the happenings of other people’s lives, whether they be about a specific topic or random events. So, then, what better time than in the middle of preparing for the holidays, studying for finals, and watching my Mountaineers beat Rutgers to start one of my own!

I’m currently a graduate student working toward a master’s in political science, which means I have another year to figure out exactly what one does with such a degree.  Hopefully, the answer to this will not involve phrases or sayings like “living in my car” or “Hey mom, the last 6 years were fun, but I’m moving back home.”

Sometimes, though, I hate when people ask me what I’m up to these days, and all I have to say is “I’m still in school.”  I want to find a hobby that’s not so academic-y.  I want to be good at photography and hopefully will start working on this soon (and maybe post some of my awesome photography skills here…).

Well, that was a peak into my life right now, if you’ve made it this far.  I’ll try to keep the school talk to a minimum.  The only thing worse than going to school is having to read about someone else going to school.  You can look for posts about any random mix of stuff like music, sports, people, and politics (and hopefully photography!).

I’ll leave you now with a story from the other day that could really only happen to me.  Really.

Thursday was a pretty good day. I got up early (6:30, before the sun was even out!) and gave a good presentation in class. I met with the boyfriend for lunch and walked back to the parking garage, filled with the cheesy, pepperoni deliciousness of a Roni Zoni calzone from DP Dough and fantasizing about the long, wonderful nap I was going to take when I got home.

Apparently caught up in my daydreams and not yet realizing it, I paid for my ticket to leave the garage, got my change and headed to my car. As I was driving toward the gate, I couldn’t remember what I had done with my ticket. I double-searched my pockets, thinking “Where in the world did I put…Ohmygod, I didn’t get my ticket.” That’s right, I managed to get my change, but not to grab the actual ticket to get out.

I thought about just getting a new ticket and using that one to get out, but as they seemingly anticipated my move, the words “All theft of services will be prosecuted” were written on the wall right in front of my new parking space. I decided going to jail for stealing time from a parking garage probably wouldn’t look too good on my resume.

I then had the following conversation with the lady at the parking authority office.

Me: Hi, I lost my ticket to exit the garage, and now I can’t get out.

Lady: Did you pay for your ticket?

Me: Yeah. $3.75.

Lady: Are you near the exit?

Me: Yeah.

Lady: All right, I need you to pull to the gate and push the help button so I can let you out.

I’m glad you can’t see embarrassment over the phone.

Hey i posted something a few days ago about maybe doing book reviews etc for like part of the CU library and i’ve now decided (if i get time) i’m going to start running an additional blog for reviews of films, cds, books and stuff (some christian, some not) and obviously there will be links to that on here especially when i get some reviews going of christian books etc so keep your eyes peeled for that

Here it is….my first post on my new blog. I’m starting this blog more as a way to get my thoughts out of my head, and maybe help myself work through and move on through some of life’s issues. Life has thrown me a few curve balls in the past few years, and I’m trying to figure out how to keep moving forward to keep pursuing my goals and dreams while dealing with some of the various difficulties we all experience on this journey called life.

I don’t know if anyone really cares about what I have to say. This blog is for me anyway, rather than for the world. My plan is to talk about some of things going on in my life, vent a little, celebrate a little, cry a little…all in an effort to get distracting thoughts out of my head and allow me to keep positive and keep working on moving forward. I want this blog to be more than just a place to whine. I’m hoping I can put some things out here that are interesting and allow me to practice my writing skills.

My sister, whom we all fondly call Auntie, finally launched her new blog here at WP.  Its a great feeling that she was inspired to have her own because of MushaMommy.

My sister has always been the better writer and speaker between us.  Anything I can do, she can do better.  Her job at LSGH does entail more writing so its very natural for her to start blogging.   I just wonder if she’ll still put all her activities in her planner?

Cool I love my new blog

First of all, let me begin by welcoming you. Please, If I ever say something privileged, clueless or anything-ist, call me out on it. I welcome the chance to constantly learn and grow.

I am a cis female bisexual polyamorous kinky vegetarian living in the UK with my partners and several cats. Alana Skye is a pseudonym, from the character in “The Girl From Tomorrow” and “The Skye Boat Song”

I have created this blog because I am angry at all the transphobic flavoured feminism I see on the Internet, and the comment threads full of well-meaning fail at best and downright hostility and open attacks at worst. I want to prove that cis people can sensibly and intelligently comment on trans issues without ticking every box in the bingo square (http://www.hannahdame.com/images/TransBingoCredit.jpg)

I will never know what it is like to be transgendered or transsexual, and I will never claim to be able to imagine it. I am not attempting to speak for trans people here, because that would be incedibly patronising. Instead, I am speaking out for all the cis allies of trans people who are upset at all the transphobia, transmisogyny, and general fail out there.

I will nail my colours to the mast. Trans men are men, trans women are women, and genderqueer, gender non-conforming and intersex people are whatever they say they are, be that male, female, or anything else on the gender spectrum. What I mean by that is that the gender of a person is defined by that person, and no-one else can tell them what their gender is or should be.

I have a lot of thoughts for future posts, and there is what appears to be a never-ending fountain of fail on the Internet to comment on.

One last thought: I identify as bisexual although I realise that gender is a spectrum, not a binary. I just personally don’t feel comfortable with pansexual or omnisexual, although I have no problem with anyone who chooses to use these tems.

Because of certain ladies who I have either blogged with at another site or just had many comments with on a few others, I have elected to keep this one in addition to Old Retired Petty Officer. This one is for those who do not desire to have another email/username/login.  And I do get to keep dear friends in the process. This is especially for Madalyn, the lady from Kremlin, Montana. As one can surmise, this is not her real name. I know what that is and will keep it that way.

So this will be the “civilized” blog. Old Retired Petty Officer will be the no-holds barred one. Fair enough? I thought so.

I’ve had this blog sitting here for several months, and I’ve just been unsure as how to start this. As much as I miss blogging, at the end of my last blog, I was sick of it, and in the end it became a chore. So I chose to take a bit of a break, and come back when I missed it. So I’m back.

I’ve been re-evaluating my life of lately, trying to work out my direction, and while I haven’t got it figured out, I have a vague idea of the path I’m travelling, because honestly, I wasn’t stoked on the one I was on. I’d lost my sense of self, I’d lost my passion and love for culture. I found my self surviving rather than living, which depresses me no end. Because lets face it, we need more people LIVING life rather than SURVIVING it.
And I my friends plan to be one of them!
